This unique copy of Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam is clad in beatiful copper embossings. I do not know if this was the original binding, or if it was repaired at some point by a skilled craftsperson. The spine is almost certainly original, and the style suggests that it is likely from the late 19th or early 20th century. No publisher or date appears inside the book. This suggests that perhaps the binding and title pages had come unglued. If indeed the book was repaired, the quality of the work suggests that its owner treasured it. I can assure you that its new owner will treasure it as well.

Each Morn a thousand Roses brings, you say:
Yes, but where leaves the Rose of Yesterday?
And this first Summer month that brings the Rose
Shall take Jamshyd and Kaikobad away.
[...]
With them the seed of Wisdom did I sow,
And with mine own hand wrought to make it grow;
And this was all the Harvest that I reap’d—
"I came like Water, and like Wind I go."
—Omar Khayyam (1048-1131), transl. as Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, E. FitzGerald, 1859.

June 23, 1922 Krazy Kat by George Herriman
[ID: Ignatz stands on a table set in the middle of a field, orating dramatically. /end] Ignatz: ...and the bird is on the wing.
[ID: Krazy walks up, curious. For once, Ignatz bends over to meet his eye level. /end] Krazy: Wot's that, "Ignatz"? Ignatz: I said, the bird was on the wing. Silly.
[ID: Krazy looks up in the air at a black bird flying past. Ignatz sits on the table, which has lost its legs, staring at Krazy with his hands on his hips. /end]
[ID: Krazy leans on the much shorter table to meet Ignatz's eye line. /end] Krazy: You are sure about that? Ignatz: Absolutely.
[ID: Krazy turns around and flips his tail sassily in Ignatz's startled face. /end] Krazy: Hm-m... from rissint obserwation, I'd say, the wing was on the bird.
[ID: Ignatz ZIPs a brick at the back of Krazy's head, hitting it with a POW. /end] Ignatz: ...and the brick is on the "Kat." Krazy: Now, he's talking sense.
