You know what totally does not make sense? Vernal to be so loyal and trusting to Raven and be so trusted if Raven was the one to kill her and steal her magic.

I don’t know about you, but I would like.... if I survived being killed like that, I would want to get revenge or get as far away from Raven as I can.

The thing about Raven is that she just doesn’t make sense. At all. Yes, she is on the villain’s side right now, kinda, for survival, but... then again she really wanted to have that fresh start with her, she really tried to help Yang by telling her about Ozpin, she really tries to pretend she doesn’t care about Yang not being on her side but we all can see right through it, we get all these shots of Raven being emotional, actually having emotions, we get Ozcar saying she must trust Yang a lot if she has told her about turning into a Raven, her semblance is the softest of them all, making her able to return to her loved ones whenever she wants, and it’s implied she was around and has watched Yang grow up. We have Qrow and Tai talk about Raven in very different ways.

We just have two very contradicting sets of information about Raven that won’t fit together because something is missing. I am... I swear to god I’m making a graphic with Paint right now to show you what I mean.

I think the most powerful and important message they could send with Yang and Raven is not that you shouldn’t forgive a parent who has hurt you as much as Raven hurt Yang. It is that forgiving Raven or not is completely up to Yang.

As much as Raven wants to have a fresh start with Yang, I want Yang to realise that the only reason she should agree on that is not that it would make Raven feel better, but that it would be better for herself. I want Yang to make that choice on her own, and to realise that she shouldn’t have to be the one to make the first step, that she shouldn’t be the one who has to change to make it work.

The important message is that it’s okay to forgive, it’s okay not to forgive, and no matter if she forgives her or not, it is her choice and her choice only.
