I’ve had TsuKaka on my mind for a while now and can’t help but wish they were in the same Gen. Despite that, I don’t think Kakashi would even work up the nerve to court Tsunade, only because he’s never shown interest in women in his Gen….. idk.

Well, to each their own and we all have our own preferences and views, nothing wrong with that!

As for showing intererst in someone - it's shounen, it's not expected to have interest unless it's big part of character's design (Jiraiya) or drives the plot to help someone to level up (AsuKure and Shikamaru). So if we only ship characters who expressed love interest in canon, the list of characters we can ship gets very small and boring.

As for same gen Kakatsu, I don't think it would've worked. They need all that emotional baggage and maturity to see something in each other and help each other. And actually have gut to dare each other. But this is my opinion.

One Piece fandom have to deal with me not caring about Luffy; with me thinking he is the least interesting character of his series. DC fandom have to deal with me not caring about Tim Drake, and with me being agressively indifferent towards pretty much every Tim Drake ship; with me thinking Arkhamverse Tim Drake is the best version of Tim Drake ever created because he’s nothing like the one from the comics; with me loving Arkhamverse TimBabs. And SasoSaku fandom have to deal with me not caring at all about the Same Age AU. It bores me and I really dislike it when it’s used for virtue signaling.

The reason? I’m not a mindless sheep that follows fandom tendencies just to be accepted by people and not get cancelled. I have my own opinions about things. Regardless of how fond I am of my followers and supporters and how I keep producing art of the things I know people enjoy, I am transparent and I draw what makes me happy. It’s not my purpose to not dissapoint fellow shippers for not keeping up their checklist of what’s expected for a person to like/dislike on their fandom communities.

Recognizing that opinions are as diverse as people themselves and that you can respect each other tastes in fiction without harassing anyone nor imposing your views on someone else is a sign of mature interactions, online or not :)

Also also their is a new Shisui/Sakura fanfic on AO3 called Flowers still Bloom, it's only still starting out but it's amazing!

thats so interesting i love same age aus particularly kakasaku because it usually rewrites her character in a way that i like. love some good hurt/comfort with them. are there any aus that you do like in general like fantasy/abo/modern/etc ?

Oh, it's always a tricky question to me, because none come to mind. But if I explore a bit further, then I realise that some aus are pretty cool. Also, some aus I enjoy drawing, some aus I enjoy reading (somehow doesn't work both ways). I like when aus are inspired by other shows (e.g. we just discussed how 'You' is very sasosaku coded). I like modern aus which revolve around punk/rock/fetishist subcultures, but not high school/university at an undergrad level (postgrad is more fun). I like Hades/Persephone au for kakasaku. Soo yeah, au's are not my thing in general, but I like some in a very chaotic way.

SasoSaku Modern High School AU!

Brief Summary:

After Gaara transferred from Suna to Konoha High to escape the toxic environment of his previous school and to be with Naruto, Chiyo was tasked to observe Gaara's studies for the day and brought along Sasori for the lols. Sasori sees a loud, obnoxious girl and decides to judge and project his problems and insecurities onto her bc he's an asshole like that.

Then he sees that little-miss-perfect wasn't so perfect after all and just thinks "Ahh yes, that is the love of my life."
