you’ll see my face in every place (but you can’t catch me now)
pairing: coriolanus snow x fem!capitol!reader
summary: you were finally dead, so why did you show up everyday in Coriolanus’s life?
warnings: coriolanus is a sick motherf, seriously sick. mentions of sex, mentions of killing & snakes, reader finally getting justice in end (sorta?)
part 1 | can be read off as standalone but recommend reading for context
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Coriolanus Snow was utterly and undeniably fucked. He absolutely was.
He was sure when he had gotten rid of Sejanus, Lucy Gray, and you—that that was the end of it, and no one would hear about it again. After all, the Plinths and Ciceros took in Coriolanus like a son, thanking them for taking such good care of their son and daughter when they couldn’t.
And it wasn’t like Coriolanus Snow was some idiot. He knew how to cover up his tracks, and he knew how to do it good. If there’s one thing about him, it’s that he believes if one truly wants to get rid of something, one should do all in his power to make it happen. And that’s what Coriolanus did. He erased every trace of Lucy Gray Baird and Sejanus, and hopefully, you.
Coriolanus woke up one morning in the Cicero estate feeling extremely cold. He looked outside to see snow, which made his lips quirk up in a sly smile. Your parents were devastated over your death, Mrs. Cicero automatically offering Coriolanus your bedroom because she couldn’t stand her only daughter being gone.
- - -
Coriolanus opens your closet, a walk-in closet that not even the whole District 1 would be able to afford. Gosh, he remembered the first time he was here and you were showing him a pretty short dress that covered nothing, and how he wanted to take you right then and there. He did minutes after, and that short dress was long discarded on the floor.
But now your presence was gone, just your clothes that were still there. Mr. Cicero refused for the maids to get rid of it; he said he wanted to remember his daughter for the lovely fashionable girl she was. Coriolanus looked through your sweaters, much were pink or white, but Corio found a dark blue one that was gender neutral that he liked.
Although it was just polyester, Coriolanus felt chills as he wore it. He swore he took in a whiff of your perfume. How could that have been possible? It was weeks after yours and Sejanus’s death, weeks after he went back to the Capitol with a fake sob story and bloodshot eyes. There was no way—just absolutely no way that your perfume could still be lingering on this old polyester sweater.
Snow gasps. A loud sound hits your window, a bird, he assumes. And as he gets closer, his suspicions are confirmed when he sees a unconscious bird on the floor, with snow melting around it.
Snow melting. Snow. Melting.
Coriolanus needed to get out of his own head. It wasn’t healthy.
He was now an apprentice to Dr. Gaul, a spot that brought him enormous pride. Soon, he’ll take over all of Panem, and make sure any remaining rebels would be expelled, or better yet, executed.
“Hey,”
Was Coriolanus going crazy? He was so sure he heard your voice in the trees, just right outside your estate. Mrs. Cicero, your mother, had expressed how much you liked planting, and it was evident from the amount of tall bark trees littering around the entire home.
In the lab, Dr. Gaul was teaching Coriolanus how to be gentle with the snakes so he wouldn’t get bitten like poor Clemensia had before the 10th Hunger Games even started. He thought she was long dead by now, but she had came to him a few weeks prior yelling about how she can’t believe he never visited her in the hospital. Coriolanus didn’t outright tell her—but he saw fading scales all over her neck. The turtleneck wasn’t doing her any good.
“Alright, here you go,” Dr. Gaul says gently, handing Coriolanus one of the longer snakes. He looked into its eyes, and was horrified to see your eyes stare back at him. He shrieked, flapping the snake into the air and blinking a few times to make sure he wasn’t going crazy.
“What is wrong with you Mr. Snow?!” Dr. Gaul asks, astonished by her star pupil’s behavior.
He only gulps, excusing himself home early that day.
- - -
“Oh Corio, I wanted you to have this,” Mr. Cicero approached him as he sat in front of your giant vanity. He was holding a few printed photographs of you and Coriolanus, huddled up together, looking as cute of a couple as ever. He remembered those moments, where you were smiling like crazy as you looked up at him with the doe eyes he seem to have been missing lately. “You know my daughter really loved you. And I’m not a man of many words—but I want to thank you for being there for her. She loved you so much she begged me to let her go to district 12 to be with you and Sejanus again. I hate the way things happened, but at least I know she was loved by you.”
And slowly, Snow starts to crack.
When the Ciceros had fallen asleep, he lit the fireplace, watching as the fire slowly get taller. He takes one good look at the photographs, then throws them in with the flames. He gave his blood, sweat, and tears for this moment. To finally be in a huge estate, to be with loving parents, to be an apprentice to the most important doctor in the Capitol. He deserved this. He did. He gave up his best friend, he gave up his own tribute, Lucy Gray—not that she mattered or anything because Coriolanus established a clear line in his head that she was simply just a district scum who was lucky enough to win because of him. And lastly, he gave up his girlfriend, Y/N Cicero, you, for this.
Coriolanus Snow was not going to let anything get in the way of his goal.
- - -
The next week, Coriolanus suggests the Ciceros throw a party to memorialize you. Coriolanus thinks of this big, grand, emotional speech. He’ll tell everyone how much of a sweetheart you were, how much you two were inlove. Then he’d get stern—saying that he’ll make sure your death won’t be forgotten, especially when he plans on running for president soon.
Everyone claps, so infatuated with the way he speaks. It’s cause he lies; straight from his mouth.
“I know what you did.”
The trees speak to Coriolanus in hushed violent murmurs, almost as if they were mad at him. They spoke in riddles, but sometimes they’d just outright say what Coriolanus had done.
“You killed them. You killed them all.”
“Blood is on your hands.”
“Snow bleeds red.”
And it frustrates Snow. It’s something, for once, that he can’t control. It sickens him that he’s unable to anything about the trees.
- - -
Mr. and Mrs. Cicero die a year later. Rebel bombing, they assumed. But only Coriolanus knew that it wasn’t—that it was him, and because he was like a son to them for the past year, he was under their will, meaning he got the entire estate.
He ran for president with the Cicero family name, and with their money too.
Coriolanus marries Livia Cardew. He doesn’t like her, much less tolerate her, but she was a good asset. Just a trophy hanging from his arm.
And Livia didn’t mind, she knew Snow was incapable of loving her, and she had an itching feeling it had something to do with you.
But Livia loved you when she was friends with you at the Academy, so she doesn’t bat an eye when Coriolanus mumbles out your name while they’re having sex. In fact, Coriolanus refused to touch or look at Livia unless he was under enormous pressure and needed someone—no something—to get his anger out on. Livia always took the blows, but she was still grateful that she hadn’t married Fetus, because that—that wouldn’t have been pretty.
The first thing Snow does as president is cut down the trees. The forests and woods? Well he burned them all. He didn’t like the cat and mouse chase that Lucy Gray had played on him in the woods, so he figured getting rid of them was like finally erasing you from his brain. No more Sejanus Plinth, no more Lucy Gray Baird, and fucking finally, finally!—no more Y/N Cicero.
But Coriolanus made a slight error. Because 64 years later, his ex lover comes back to haunt him, only this time, in the form of a girl from District 12, Katniss Everdeen.

Tumblr media
being the girlfriend of the winner to the plinth prize whilst simultaneously biting your tongue constantly was no easy feat.
every thoughtless, careless, borderline sexist, comment corio received from older men—and even some of your male peers—along the lines of, “oh, she’s a pretty little thing, isn’t she? bet you keep her on her knees, huh?” (whilst you were right there, mind you!), infuriated you beyond belief and typically made corio tense up and awkwardly brush them off.
because no, corio did not always keep you on your knees. as a matter of fact, it was quite the opposite. you had him on his knees, every night, begging and pleading for a taste of you. and if he was a good boy, he would get one. you were assertive, not cruel.
you so badly wished you could shut them down, tell them exactly how it is, but you still loved and respected corio, and you knew what might happen to his reputation if that kind of secret got out.
so you kept on biting your tongue.
and tonight, corio’s arm is snaked around your torso and his large palm rests on the small of your back.
you’re at a elite party he was invited to, making friendly conversation with clemensia and sejanus while throwing witty comments back and forth with your boyfriend, when all of a sudden, one of crassus snow’s old friends come up to the both of you and it goes how you would expect; however, this time, something’s different.
this time, he laughs boisterously and nods, agreeing with the crude comment the man made. coriolanus shakes his hand and says “oh, absolutely. would you expect any less from my father’s son?”
you are fucking appalled, and the astounded expression on your face doesn’t do much to hide it.
when the old man whose name you didn’t bother to remember finally leaves, corio finally looks down at you to see your narrow eyes shooting daggers into his.
you say no words and storm off, and he’s hot on your trail. “baby? baby, hold up, slow down!”
you heed no mind to his words, and only stop your stampede when you find an unoccupied bedroom and drag him inside.
it was glamorous, which was to be expected, considering the host of the party was volumnia gaul; she always was one for dramatic flare. the ceiling was high and the walls were crowned in gold paint. the layout was simple, there was nothing but a queen-sized bed, an empty dresser, and bare vanity gracing its presence, all but proving that it was not it use, and perfectly fine for you to punish coriolanus in.
“what the fuck was that?” your voice is scornful and with the way your face twists up and contorts into a look of contempt, he knows he’s in for it.
he stumbles over his words, trying to think of a way he can phrase his words to deescalate the situation, lessen the blow for himself. “i-i’m sorry. i don’t know what i was thinking. please, honey. please forgive me. i’m begging you,”
the last phrase causes you to look up at him before smirking wickedly, “are you?”
you can see it dawn on him, the realization that you really are going to make him beg—the proper way, down on his knees.
he sighs ashamedly before letting his knees buckle, right one hitting the ground, the left following suit.
the slicked back hair on his scalp gleams perfectly underneath the warm overhead lighting the small chandelier provides, and his glossy, devastatingly blue, eyes are boring into yours as his bottom lip begins to quiver ever so slightly.
“i’m so, so, so, fucking, sorry. i’m so stupid, i just didn’t want him to think lowly of my fathers kin. i fucked up, i know, just, please, please, forgive me,”
he sounds like he’s on the verge of tears when he speaks and you can’t help but revel in how hot this all is. having one of the most powerful men in the capitol at your feet, pleading for you, you have to work hard in order to conceal the ache between your legs.
“show me, then.” you turn around on him and walk to the bed, sitting, before crossing your legs and leaning back, dangerous, siren eyes inviting corio to crawl to you.
he doesn’t even hesitate before getting on his hands and knees and desperately pawing at the ground, trying to get close to you again. and when he reaches your sat figure, he grabs your ankles, uncrossing them and pulling your high heels off slowly, all before kissing his way up your calf, and up to your mid-thigh, where the slit in your dress begins. he looks up at you pleadingly, expression reading ‘may i?’ and you could praise him for being so polite if he wasn’t enduring punishment.
you nod slightly, raising your hips just enough so corio could hike your dress up, bunching up at your waist.
his eyes stay on yours, watching you intently as he pulls your delicate, lacy, black and pink, panties down your smooth legs, before gently placing them on the floor next to him.
when you part your legs ever so slightly, the eyes boring into yours spark up with excitement and hope. he finally breaks eye contact when he shuts his eyes and lays his tongue flat against your cunt, lapping up the ego-boosting amount of arousal that’s drooling from your achy hole.
he’s so perfect for you, timing his transitions between fucking into you with his tongue and sucking on your clit just the way he’s learned you like just right, never lingering too long on one part of you.
at this point, you have your legs wrapped around his head tight, nearly restricting his facility to breathe, shamelessly moaning and praising his ministrations. “fuck, yes corio! oh fuck, you’re gonna make me cum? yeah? so fucking pathetic,” you spit at him in between borderline moans so pornographic that you’re apprehensive that somebody outside of the four walls you’re in may hear you, but it doesn’t seem to bother you that much, considering the lack of you lowering your own volume.
and the sounds, the sounds are vile, fucking disgusting. his salivated muscle messily dragging all over your labia, his perfectly pouted lips making out with your pussy like he’s in love with it (he is). all of the insanely erotic factors of this moment don’t do anything to hold off your impending release, and with a weak cry of the boy beneath you’s name, sweet syrup leaks out from your tight hole lands onto corio’s anticipating tongue, and you can feel him smile against you at the taste of it.
he drinks it all down in no time and when he continues to lather his tongue all over your clit, not seeming to want to be done, you have to physically pull his head away from you as a result of overstimulation.
he frowns but when he sees the look on your face, your exhausted, satisfied, fucked-out, face, he has to bite his lip to contain his smile.
“i did good?” there’s a special twinkle to his eye, and you find it all-enamoring.
“so good,”
“you forgive me?”
“yes, but next time you pull some shit like that, i’ll jerk you off under the dinner table, you hear me?”

"Just right here." Lucy Gray stops on the gravel road, nodding up to the house in front of them.
"Okay, sweet." Sejanus smiles, already heading for the front porch but she grabs his arm, stopping him as Coryo just stares at the house, going slightly pale.
"Sejanus, how about you and I go figure out where you guys will stay, and come back for Coriolanus in a bit?" She offers, nodding toward him.
"Oh- uh, yes. Yeah. Good idea." He agrees, picking up quickly on what she meant. Coryo still hasn't said a word, just staring at the run-down shack that apparently was your home. It was clear that efforts were made to maintain the home, the fence had been patched in several places and there were flower beds outside. From what he knew about your family, that would make sense.
"Coriolanus?" Lucy Gray draws his attention again. "We're going to go find you a place to stay, and we'll come back for you in a bit. Does that sound okay?"
"Yeah that's... that's perfect. Thank you." He nods, in a trance-like state as he makes his way up to the door through some only slightly overgrown grass, before he has the chance to second-guess himself.
"He didn't even listen, did he?" Lucy Gray says, both of them watching him from the street.
"Not at all, no."
He can hear the two of them chatting as they disappear back down the road, and he looks for a doorbell that doesn't seem to be there, just settling for a knock instead. He waits a few moments after knocking on the wood, about to do it again when he hears a woman's voice come from inside. "One moment, I'll be right there!"
"I got it, Ma!" Comes from right behind the door as footsteps approach and it's swung open, a young boy standing there. "Hi." He says, eyeing Coryo up and down. It must be your brother.
"Uh, hi." He clears his throat. "Is Y/N here?"
"No, not right now." The boy answers. "Can I take a message for her?"
"Oh, well, my name is Coriolanus Snow, and-"
"Hold on! I'm coming!" The woman's voice comes again, much more excited as she rounds the corner from the hall, brushing her hands off on her apron. "You're Coriolanus?" She asks, a polite but delighted grin on her face as she gets closer.
"Yes, Ma'am." He nods in confirmation, a smile growing on his face. You look so much like your mother.
"Oh my goodness, come in, please! I didn't recognize you!" She gently moves her son out of the way, who is still staring at him with something unwelcoming behind his eyes. As soon as Coryo steps into the home, she's wrapping her arms around him in a hug. "Wow, it is so lovely to meet you! You came a very long way!"
"I did." He chuckles, hugging her back with as much politeness as he can muster behind shaking hands and a pale face.
"Come sit, Y/N will be home within the hour. She'll be just thrilled to see you." She pulls away, gesturing for him to follow her into the living area. "Are you hungry? You must be starving. Let me grab you something."  Your mother says, mostly to herself as he sits down on the couch.
"That would be great, thank you." He smiles, still nervous as he tries to adjust his posture on the slightly uncomfortable sofa, looking around. In reality, he hadn't been "starving" for some time now. It felt good to have a consistently filled fridge all the time, but he has hardly eaten since they left the Capitol. He was too nervous to even think about it.
"Why did you come here?" Your brother asks, making Coryo look away from the family photos that adorned the walls. Most of the frames were broken, photos blurry, but he could tell that to your family that didn't matter.
"I hadn't heard from her. I wanted to make sure she was doing okay." Coryo answers, stiffened by your brother's somewhat hostile energy and the thought of getting to see you so soon. Had you told him something you didn't tell your mother? Probably that he killed that boy, but it seemed unlike you to leave out the part where he had no choice. Unless Tigris was wrong.
Unless you still didn't see it that way.
Your brother hums, sitting in the chair across from the couch and leaning his elbows on his knees. To Coryo, this felt like an interrogation. Coming from a teenager, it was almost cute.
"Lennox, Honey, can you come help me for just a moment?" His mother calls him from the kitchen and he's shooting up again, glaring at Coryo as he walks away. He was confused, today alone he's gotten so many mixed signals on your feelings.
You stuck out the day at work, even though while you were reshelving returns you had to rush to the bathroom in the back to vomit after reading the back cover of an old book about a man who hunted humans. You were hoping by now this would happen less and less, but leaving the house had only made it worse. Getting a job was a mistake and you knew that, but your family was hardly scraping by before you were torn from your life- but neither of your parents could work the whole time you were gone. They were sick about it. Your mom still couldn't work, and you knew your father rarely ever slept these days.
You tried to hand over the winnings Coryo's Dean had given you as soon as you got home, holding it out to your parents with trembling hands as they opened the locked door for you. They wanted none of it. Not a dollar from your three thousand, which you had spent time counting and recounting on the train. They only wanted you home. You had hoped it would give you something else to talk about- that you could smile and be proud that you won and that now your family could live comfortably, at least for a little while. The idea almost made it worth it. As you counted your prize under the dim lighting in the train car, you had wondered if you would do it again for them. The money didn't make saying hello again any easier, though, and you cried for what must have been hours on the porch of your family home, the four of you tangled together in a hug bound together by tears.
It was hard to let go, but when they had, finally, your mother shoved the money back into your pocket and told you to save it. One day, you could buy your own home with it, and that wasn't a bad idea.
All you could do for them now that your money sat in a jar in your closet, the best you could do, was convince them you were fine enough for you all to move on and forget about it. The additional income of getting your own job helped, too. So, when your boss tried to send you home, you declined, and five o'clock couldn't have come fast enough.
You drink water out of an old jam jar on the way home, washing the taste of bile out of the back of your mouth. The fresh air made a world of difference. As much as you adored the smell of books, it got stuffy in there, especially in the summers. Even with the sun beating down on your shoulders over your button-up shirt, you felt better just making the walk home every day. The breeze blowing through the trees, the familiar paths beneath your feet, it was one of the very few things that could ground you in the reality that now, you were safe. That, and the meadow behind your house at night time. Reading under lantern light with the stars overhead and your family at your side, you never felt more real. It was truly over.
That's what you would do tonight, you decided, after a long nap following an unfortunate day. At the end of every unfortunate day, you still had that, and that meant the world to you.
"Oh! Here's Tybalt." Your mom smiles, now comfortable on the couch next to Coriolanus as the cat saunters into the living room, jumping up into the space between them. "This is Y/N's cat, she calls him Tybs." She explains, tears forming in her eyes as the cat crawls onto her lap and she quickly blinks them away, but he had already noticed by then.
"She told me about him." Coryo says, placing his now empty tea cup on the coffee table in front of them.
"Of course..." She chuckles sadly. "He took real good care of us while she was away. On particularly... hard nights," She clears her throat. "He would come out into the living room with her father and I and sit with us, he can purr like no ones business, you know, and then after a while, he would run over to our room there and meow at us. Made sure we got to bed. Then curl up with us and just made sure we knew that.... she was still with us."
A tear falls as she speaks and she laughs nervously, quickly brushing it away. "Gosh, I am so sorry..." She quickly dismisses it. "We have company and I'm crying like a little girl. Forgive me..."
"No, it's quite alright." Coryo insists, shaking his head. Of course, he was worried about you in the arena and every night up until then, but he never entertained the idea of what it was like for your family even though he knew about them. That under the same sky, they were sitting here in this very home praying that you might return. Now, he could see it, and you were the lucky one who made it home. He hoped he wouldn't have to see Jessup's family while he was here. "It must have been awful for you."
"Indeed." She nods, wiping her cheek again. "But, you know, it means so much to us that she had someone there to look after her." She smiles at him. It's genuine. Sad, but full of gratitude. He would no longer wonder where you got that habit from. "I decided I wouldn't be watching anything, but her father insisted. He was out at a bar in town, the only one with televisions, then came rushing back in the door twenty minutes later and dragged us back there with him to watch. I didn't want to go but he said 'No, you need to see this. She's not alone. She has a friend.' So down we went, and they were playing reruns of the two of you being dropped into that cage. I just... She looked so comfortable with you. The way you looked at her we could see you cared, that she was human to you, and that you were there to help. I remember thinking for the first time that maybe she had a chance." She's accepted her tears now, reaching over from petting Tybalt to grasp the young man's hands in her own as she spoke.
Your brother scoffs as Coryo lets her hold onto his hands, a small smile forming on his face that's quickly torn away by Lennox's reaction. "Yeah, and then that other boy had to be the one to bring her something to eat after days."
"Hey!" Your mother gasps. "Lennox, get-" She prompts him to leave if he isn't going to be nice.
He rolls his eyes, getting up to leave.
"I didn't have anything to bring her besides a flower." Coryo finds himself stating, shocking even himself at the confession which halts your brother in his steps. He had never told anyone about the poverty he faced at home, but with them, he felt safe to. Something about knowing you assured him that they were not judgemental people. He clears his throat before explaining. "My family lost everything after the war. When I first met her, I also hadn't eaten in days. I gave her everything I could."
Lennox hums before leaving, either not convinced or embarrassed that he'd even made such a comment. Coryo couldn't tell.
"Coriolanus... I am so sorry." Your mother is quick to apologize, and he's embarrassed by the look of pity in her eyes. Pity from a woman who had, for almost a month, believed she had lost her child, and was still struggling with it today. He felt nothing but guilt.
"Well, I must tell you, your daughter saved us from that." He tries to lift her spirits as a confused expression paints itself into her features, but he doesn't get the chance to elaborate as they both turn at the sound of the front door opening.
"Ma!" You call out, closing the door behind you and kicking off your shoes, preparing your smile to tell her about the absolutely great day you just had.
Your mother stands quickly, patting the boys thigh gently and wipes her eyes. "Hi, Honey, how was your day?" She asks, smiling at him through red eyes.
"Come what come may, time and the hour runs through the roughest day." Your groaned response comes slightly muffled from the other room, and Coryo can hear you shuffling about.
"Oh, no. What happened?" Immediately your mother's tone shifts to worry, and Coryo wonders how it took her less than a second to understand.
"Nothing, Ma. All is fine." You call back, putting your bag down in the kitchen, and heading for the living room, gluing a smile back on. "Guess what I saw on the walk home! A ladybug, it landed right on my-" You freeze as you walk into the entryway, seeing your mother and your previous mentor just standing up next to her.
"Oh, I should have mentioned, we have company." Your mother smiles, already gathering the used dishes from the coffee table, and brushing past you to bring them into the kitchen. Likely, to give you two a chance to talk.
When Coryo lays his eyes on you for the first time again, he can swear his heart stops. Yours definitely does as nausea comes over you in a wave again, and your calculated smile drops.
You don't say anything, just staring with an expression unreadable to him. "Y/N, hi." He breathes, smiling at you. You look beautiful but tired, still. Still, that girl he watched in the arena, it was hard to believe that every part of you made it out. You weren't the same girl he saw for the first time in the reaping- you were more. More of you, and more of something else; hurt, if he had to guess.
"It's good to see you." He continues, his voice a gentle whisper that cuts through the awkward tension in the room. Your heart races, emotions swirling like a tempest within you. Coriolanus Snow, your mentor and friend who had guided you through your time in that Capitol and the games, is standing in your living room, looking both apologetic and hopeful.
"Coryo," You manage to say, voice barely above a whisper as you swallow the sickness rising in your throat. The memories flood back- everything awful you had gone through. Meeting him for the first time as he handed you a flower, sitting on opposite sides of the bars of your cage and talking long into the nights. Everything you had done, everything he had given you, the people you both hurt in the process. He takes a step closer, cautiously navigating the fragile space between you.
"I... What are you doing here?" You ask quietly, your eyes unable to meet his gaze. The room feels smaller, the walls closing in on you quickly.
He clears his throat, a nervous habit you remember well. "I wanted to see you," he says, his eyes pleading for understanding. "I didn't know what you were up to and how you were adjusting and... I was worried about you."
The weight of unspoken words lingers between you, and for a moment, neither of you knows how to bridge the gap that only a month of time has built. You had been away from him longer than you had known him, and facing him again, you were embarrassed. Scared. Coryo takes a deep breath, summoning the courage to express the weight of what he's carried in his mind for too long.
"I never stopped thinking about you," He confesses, sincerity etched across his face. "I tried sending letters but I didn't get any response."
The vulnerability in his eyes mirrors your own, and the air crackles with a shared sense of everything you want to say but just can't find the words. You can't help it as you feel over and over again the countless hours spent together in the lead-up to the worst days of your life.
Tentatively, he reaches for your hand, a silent plea for connection. As your fingers take his, warmth floods through you, dissolving the distance. "I missed you," he admits, his voice barely audible.
A rush of conflicting emotions surges within you- that same embarrassment, anger, hurt, but also a flicker of the fondness that never truly faded. "I missed you too," You admit, your voice breaking through the emotional dam, built up from fear and trauma and the stacks of books in your bedroom that held it back all this time.
With those words, the barriers crumble, and the room is filled with a pitiful silence. The weight of what you had both done begins to lift, replaced with the realization that he did honestly care for you, the way you did for him. As you look into each other's eyes, the connection is undeniable, evidence of a bond that time could never change. You would always be connected to him.
"Do you remember when I brought you that blanket?" He asks and you take in a sharp breath. The few pleasant memories you had of your time together were so often overthrown by the awful ones, these days. His eyes flicker quickly across your face. He looks as scared as you feel. "And I said I wish I could get to know you as you are, not as a tribute, and you said you would show me the stars."
A small smile tugs at the corners of your lips as you nod, the nausea you felt steadily subsiding. "So you walk softly and look sweetly and say nothing. I am yours for the walk and especially when I walk away."
Coryo tilts his head at you, and smiles. That must have been a yes. "Please, don't walk away again." He whispers, and in that moment, he feels the tightness in his chest that carried him through the last month finally release.

Heartless
Pt 1
You loved your boyfriend, Coriolanus. Maybe you even loved him too much. So when you discovered the truth about him…
Well…it devastated you.
It broke your heart into a million pieces.
On the day that you made a life changing discovery, one that was supposed to be happy, you got a reality check that gave you whiplash so hard that you didn't know what was what anymore.
After your doctor's appointment you went home to the penthouse that you shared with Coriolanus and his grandmother, Grandma’am. His cousin, Tigris, had moved out a little while back; she lives in a condo above her boutique now.
When you entered the penthouse, you saw that Ma Plinth was sitting, waiting for you, with a little platter of ginger cookies on the glass coffee table. “How was your appointment? I hope you're feeling better.” The mother of your late friend, Sejanus, warmly remarked.
“My appointment went well; I'm feeling better now too.” You kindly smiled at the middle-aged woman who reminded you so much of her son with her kind smile. “Thank you for watching Grandma’am. Coriolanus doesn't like her to be alone too much and I just had to get to my appointment.” You gratefully told her while making your way over to the coffee table to grab a cookie.
Ma Plinth stood up, only to gesture to a brown paper wrapped package on the table. “A package arrived while you were gone.”
You grabbed a cookie.l, taking a small nibble off it. “Oh, thank you for bringing it in. I'll put it in Coryo's study for him.”
“Oh, Y/N, it's not for him. It's addressed to you.” The dark-haired woman informed you before waving goodbye and showing herself out.
You had a package? That's odd. You never get packages or mail in general.
Everything gets sent to Coriolanus since he has all the bills and the house registered under his name.
You were curious about the package, so you put your cookie down on the tray and picked up the brown parcel.
You read your name and address on the package, but the space for a return address was left blank. You thought that was odd, but shrugged it off.
Curiosity got the better of you; you opened the parcel only to find a letter and a tape. An audio tape.
You unfolded the letter and read it.
Miss Halvir,
I'm writing you this letter because your dear Mr. Snow is not the man you believe him to be.
He is not a man that takes his…say…oaths and promises seriously. He is a heartless man incapable of feelings.
Most of all love. I know you believe him to love you, but listen to me when I say, my dear, that he does not in fact love you.
Coriolanus Snow is cut from the same cloth as his father. A cold, callous man that sees order as a way to balance the wildness of the world.
He sees all the world as an arena with two types of people in it.
Victors and the unfortunate souls that are not strong enough to survive and become a victor.
You, girl, are no victor, but he is.
Coriolanus Snow is.
And he will do anything to get ahead in this world. Including selling out his only friend. His best friend. One Sejanus Plinth.
In this package I have placed a copy of the recording that was played during Private Plinth’s date with the noose. Please listen to it in private.
It will shed some light on the man you falsely believe to love you.
I would hate for something to happen to you, like it did poor Sejanus Plinth, because of misplaced trust in one Coriolanus Snow.
Your hands shook as you put the letter down.
I'mYou couldn't believe what you just read.
It couldn't be true. It just couldn't be.
You worried your bottom lip, turning the small audio tape over and over in your hand. You were scared to hear what was on it.
But you knew that you had to listen to it. So, you went over to the stereo, but it in, and pressed play.
What you heard on that tape made your heart stop. Every word exchanged between Sejanus and Coryo made you sick. The dead boy trusted the blonde, only to be secretly recorded and betrayed by him.
It was too much to handle.
If Coriolanus could do that to sweet Sejanus then what could he do to you?
You knew what you had to do. You couldn't stay with him; you had to pack your bags and go back to your mother's apartment. At least you'd be safe back home with your mother; safety's all that matters right now.
You can ignore that shattering pain of your heart breaking as long as your safe.
Tumblr media
“Darling, I made reservations for dinner tonight at the Capitol Grille for 7.” You heard Coriolanus call out to you from the foyer as you finished packing the last of your things in your bags.
Well, the Capitol Grille was a very high end steak house where the menus didn't have price tags printed on them. It was also a place that you needed to put in a reservation ahead of time; somebody just couldn't walk in or call same day to get a table.
People waited weeks, sometimes even months for a table. Hmph, and knowing that Coryo's using Strabo Plinth’s money to snag a table and eat a 3 course meal that cost more then most people's pay in the districts disgusted you.
Oh god. The way he got the Plinths family fortune made you want to run away from him and never look back.
Main reason why you were zipping up your bag whenever Coriolanus entered you- no his bedroom.
“Darling why don't you wear-” He began to say, only to stop mid sentence and ask, “Going somewhere?”
“Yea.” You nodded. “I'm moving back in with my mother.” You looked up from your bag, only to see the platinum blonde arching a puzzled brow at you.
“Why're you going down to the 8th floor? Is she sick” Coriolanus couldn't help, but think that all your mother's chain smoking had finally gotten to her.
Yes, Coriolanus smokes socially; even has cigars with the high power playing politicians during certain events and dinners, but it wasn't anything that's damaging to his health.
Hell, he thinks breathing in all the chemicals in Dr. Gual’s lab’ll destroy his lungs first.
“I can't be with you anymore, Coriolanus. I'm breaking up with you; moving back home.”
“WHAT?!” The platinum blondr shouted so loud that you thought your eardrums busted.
Slinging you duffel over your shoulder and grabbing the handle to your rolling suitcase, you simply told him, “You heard me. I’m leaving you.”
His icy blue eyes flashed with anger and a hint of something else as he stormed over to you. “You're not going anywhere, Y/N.” He ordered, grabbing your suitcase out of your hand.
You yanked your suitcase, trying to snatch it away from him. “Give it back, Coriolanus. I need it “
“You don't need it because you're not leaving.” The cold hearted man that you once believed was capable of loving you said while slinging your suitcase across the room. “Now behave and get dressed. I got reservations for us at-” began pulling the strap of your duffel off of your shoulder l, only for you to snatch the bag back and interrupt him with, “I'm not going to dinner with you tonight or any other night. Not anymore, Coriolanus.” Feeling yourself ready to cry, you started walking away from him.
As long as you didn't look at him you'd be fine.
“We're done. Just go find something else you can pretend to love.” You remarked, walking out of the bedroom.
You made it roughly 3 feet down the hall, only to hear the heavy footfalls of your ex’s black floor shines echoing against the marble floor. Coriolanus stopped you dead in your tracks when he grabbed your upper arm. Spinning you around to look at him, he made to sell you the charming lie of, “Y/N, after being together since our Academy day, I'm not pretending to love you. I do love you.”
Shaking your head, you let out a tiny cackle of, “You're so full of shit. You know that?” You snapped your arm, causing his hold on it to break. Your fingers tightly clutched the strap of your duffel bag as you revealed, ‘I know what you did to sweet Sejanus and how you're exhorting his wall meaning parents.”
His baby blues turned into saucers. For once, the stoic and well masked man looked like he was frazzled.
Looks like you caught him off guard; you confronted him with truths he didn't want to share with you.
Coriolanus reached out for you, but you took two large steps back. Running a hand thru his hair, the platinum blonde looked at you as if you chucked his car out of the penthouse window. “I don't know what you think I did, darling, but let me explain everything.” His tone was dripping with a fake promise.
You knew that he wouldn't tell you the truth. He'd just tell you another one of his lies.
Heartless bastard.
And to think that you wasted nearly 5 years with his ass. You've been by his side since you were 16 years old, only to find out now that everything was a lie.
He never loved you. He never cared.
Hell, the only reason Coriolanus is with you is because the songbird went missing.
Yea…
Now you're thinking that the friendly act he was putting on with his tribute, Lucy Gray, wasn't an act at all. Now you realize he was cheating on you with her and you were too damn stupid to see it.
And to think that you faithfully wrote him and called him when he was a peacekeeper stationed in 12.
You should've listened to your mother and gone out with Sejanus instead. Maybe if you would've accepted his advance he'd still be alive..your friend wouldn't have followed the devil out to District 12 only to be betrayed and sent to the noose.
Too late now. What's done’s done.
But you do wish that you didn't fall in love with somebody who can never love you. Someone so evil.
So heartless.
“Nothing you say to me’s going to make me stay with you, Coriolanus.”
“Can you stop calling me Coriolanus and call me Coryo, like you always do?” Coriolanus asked with a pitiful look in his eyes. You're positive it's fake since he's incapable of feeling anything, other than hate and greed.
“I got a package in the mail today addressed to me; inside was the tape that you recorded of Sejanus. The one that got him hanged.”
Coriolanus' breath caught in his throat and his palms began to sweat. How did somebody send you the copy? He thought that only Dr. Gual has access to that.
She wouldn't send it to you. In fact, she keeps her records well under lock and key; would never part with them.
Looks like one of the interns he replaced in Dr. Gaul's lab is out to make his life hell because he took their coveted internship.
Coriolanus know that he had to calm you down; get you to put your bag down and get changed into a nice dress so he could take you out for dinner.
Damnit, he had something special planned, even got permission from Dr. Gaul to leave the lab early, so you needed to stop looking at him like a monster. He needed you to look at him with love again and quick, otherwise his dinner plans are going to go up in smoke.
“Y/N, I know you think that I betrayed Sejanus, but I didn't. I meant for the tape to reach Strabo, so that he could buy Sejanus an honorable discharge, but it didn't happen that way. The tape was never given to Strabo, it was used as evidence against our friend instead.” Coriolanus told you, foolishly thinking that you'd believe his twisted half truth. Well, they say the best lies are half truths.
Your nostrils flared angrily at hearing the snake in front of you call Sejanus his friend. Sejanus was your friend, not his. Coriolanus wasn't able to have real friends because he couldn't love anything.
Well the only things he loved were money and power, but that didn't count because those aren't people. Those are objects; possessions.
Before you could blink, you slapped Coriolanus across his smooth shaven cheek. “You don't get to call him your friend. Not after you got him killed.”
“You think I'm not haunted by that? That I don't have nightmares of Sejanus screaming out for his Ma; the mockingjays perched on the hanging tree repeating his frightened last cries before flying away?” Coriolanus rhetorically asked, only to give the false confession of, “I broke down crying at my bunk after helplessly watching my brother die, so don't stand here and tell me that I'm not sorry or that I killed my best friend on purpose because I didn't.”
“Oh, Coriolanus l, don't go there. I know for a fact you sleep like a baby every night.” You scoffed.
Shaking your head, you spun round and stormed down the hall.
Coriolanus was hot on your heels. His velvety words of, “Please, darling, don't be rash. Don't throw away 5 years over a tape you received in the mail.”
“I'm not throwing anything away, Coriolanus. As it turns out, those 5 years were all an act for you.” You stormed right into the main room and over to the foyer. Looking at him from over your shoulder as you reached the door, you gave him the famous last words of, “I’m glad I found out you’re heartless; will never love me before when there's still time to get away from you.”
Coriolanus just stared at the door after you slammed it shut. His anger was festering in his chest; he wanted to kill whoever sent you that tape.
Damnit!
There goes his plans for tonight.
He better call the restaurant and cancel the reservation; call up Tigris and let her know that he doesn't need her to stay with Grandma’am tonight because he's not taking Y/N out for dinner anymore.
Looks like he's stuck ordering something in for him and Grandma'am. He wonders if he should give her back that heirloom ring of hers or if he should just keep it; shove it to the back of his sock drawer.
Grandma’am is old and her memory’s started to fade; if he tries to give her the ring back it might put her into one of her nonsense ramblings.
No, he'll keep the ring.
He'll give you some time to cool off; then he'll shower you with jewelry and roses to soften you up.
Once you were softened up, he'd talk some sense into you. Get you to come home.
Tumblr media
If you thought that breaking up with Coriolanus Snow would be easy, well, you were wrong. It was the hardest thing you did in your entire life.
And you know why?
Because he wouldn't leave you alone.
Well, he left you alone for the first couple of days, but after that he started sending flowers and gifts. No, not flowers and gifts. Roses and jewelry.
You never accepted them. You always tossed the roses in the trash and gave the packages of jewelry to the desk clerk with the instructions to give them to Coriolanus Snow.
You'd think he'd get the hint and stop.
Well, he didn't.
Instead, the floral arranged for larger and the jewelry kept coming back. Hell, he even went so far as giving you a copy of an ancient Pre-Panem book. A book from an ancient author that you loved.
Jane Austen.
You mother told you to burn the book, but you couldn't do that. It's be a sin to destroy such a work of art.
So, that was the only gift you kept.
But in doing so, you opened the Pandora’s box that was Coriolanus Snow's delusions. He thought that you were ready to see him again because you accepted a book, so he would come by your mother's every night looking to see you.
You always hid in your old child bedroom while your mother showed him away.
After 4 weeks of this insane behavior, your mother told you that she was concerned for your safety. That she felt you never to leave the Capitol for a while. Stay with your brother Rein, who was a peacekeeper that just received an officer’s commission in District 12.
Honestly, you didn't want to leave the Capitol. The Capitol was your home, but you knew that if you stayed then things would get ugly for you. Especially when it concerns Coriolanus.
You knew that Coriolanus would never look for you in District 12. He'd just write you off as a girl he lost control of and just find himself another Capitol bimbo to manipulate and control with false words of love.
So, that's why you were currently stepping off of the train in District 12.
Your brother was standing on the platform, eager awaiting your arrival in his officer’s uniform. When he spotted you, he quickly made his way over to your side and greeted you with a hug.
Reaching for your suitcase, he chuckled, “Let me take that for you, sis.”
“I see becoming an officer's turned you into a gentleman.” You teased Rein as he room your suitcase from you; leading you away from the platform.
“Mother told me your ex is stalking you with roses and jewelry.” Of course she did. Looking between you and a Jeep in the distance, your brother asked, “Does he know about the baby?”
“No.” And you're glad you received that tape after you came home from your doctor's appointment, confirming your suspicions. If not then you'd be trapped with that heartless monster.
“He’s just been sending me that stuff in an attempt to manipulate me back into his arms.
“I'm sorry things didn't work out, but you're more then welcome to stay with me in my apartment on base for as long as you need to.”
Your brother's words meant a lot to you. At least you had somebody to protect you from your ex.
Protect the both of you since you were going to become a mother in nearly 7 months.
Tumblr media
Coriolanus walked into Dr. Gaul’s lab with a dead look in his icy blue eyes. It made Dr. Gaul gleeful. It was better then the cold look he had when he returned from his summer vacation as a peacekeeper.
Oh, this time the look in his eyes held so much hate that she doubts anything could ever soften his irises. It was marvelous, really, how the mad scientist molded her protege into a hateful man. Into, well, her best experiment.
But Dr. Gaul knew that there was a chance all of her hard work turning Snow as cold as his namesake could be ruined by you. Well, not you per say, but the creature you were incubating.
Coriolanus Snow wasn't old enough, cold enough, and calloused enough yet to enter fatherhood. He was too young and might grow soft at becoming a father.
A year under her tutelage wasn't long enough to ensure that he wouldn't slip back into a weaker mindset once a crying, shriveling, pink creature that was half him and half you popped into the world.
Dr. Gaul knew that she had to break every part of Coriolanus in order to piece him together into the war mongrel leader she wanted to run the country. You were that small shred of good that latched onto him, kept him from fully drowning in the darkness. A child, your child, might make Coriolanus see the world through a different lense.
Now, she couldn't have that. That would ruin everything.
So, when her contacts at the OBGYN office told her about your appointment and your condition, she sent you a little care package.
Her star student never figured out.that she sent it, instead he blamed the intern who lost his spot to him. The mad scientist even helped Coriolanus test a deadly mutt of the innocent soul who he thought did him wrong. All because Coriolanus’ proposal plans where ruined.
Oops…
Dr. Gaul grinned evilly as she read the latest report from her spies. You were now in District 12 living with your brother on the Peacekeeper base.
Well, looks like it's time for a new game change when it comes to the Hunger Games.
Dr. Gaul decided that even children born on peacekeeper bases would be considered district citizens and would be legally obligated to enter their names into the game's lotto style drawing.
Unless a child between the ages of 12 and 18 is a Capitol citizen living in the Capitol, they will be registered for the games. Living on a Peacekeeper’s.base will not over safety to any child I'm the districts.
Not anymore.
Hopefully your child, fathered by Coriolanus, will never have their name picked for the games.
But as long as Dr. Gaul's alive, shaping Coriolanus like a potter shapes clay, anything's possible.

I keep thinking about coriolanus x reader set before the reaping and the reader is being sent to the districts (maybe as a punishment from the plinths for “filling sejanus’ head with rebel ideas” or smth) but anything works!! 🩷
awe, thank you so much, sweet anon! i am honored :). i hope i understood what you wanted, and wrote it to your standards. enjoy, xoxo.
dark paradise.
(academy!coriolanus x fem!reader)
Tumblr media
summary: she may be a rebel at heart, but only one man can tame her.
cw: discussion of arranged marriage, sweet!coryo (i love writing him like that i’m sorry!), soft sex, oral (m receiving), cuddling, pet names, talking bad about the plinths, lmk if i missed anything.
“Me? To District Two? Why? What did I do?” You interrogate the peacekeeper who had pulled you out class, mid lesson.
“Orders of a Mr. Strabo Plinth. Says here you ‘filled my son’s head of anti-Capitol propaganda’. Enough grounds to see you removed from the Capitol, I believe.”
You couldn’t believe it. You hadn’t told Sejanus anything he didn’t already believe, you merely agreed with him. The Hunger Games were awful, and cruel. You knew enough about the world before Panem, and that in the country that existed before Panem, cruel and unusual punishment was against the country’s rules. Why wouldn’t that be the case in Panem?
“What? No I didn’t! Please, believe me.” You begged, tears beginning to well up in your eyes. You couldn’t leave the Capitol, it was your home, and had been your family’s home for years. You couldn't move to the districts, you wouldn't survive.
Your family had more than enough money and influence, but not as much as the Plinths. At this moment, you regretted befriending Sejanus. Sure, he was a sweet boy, but now his father was using you as a scapegoat to explain his son's inability to conform to Capitol standards and beliefs. All for simply agreeing with one of Sej's opinions.
You thought, for a moment, that this was it. You would never see the Capitol, or anyone in it, ever again, for the crime of having an opinion. You were a top student at the academy, set to be in the running for the Plinth Prize. How could they just kick you out of your home? You felt faint, overwhelmed with emotions, unsure of what to do, or even how to react.
"What's going on?" A voice interrupts your thoughts, and you let out a sigh of relief in recognition of the voice. Coriolanus Snow. He could get you out of this, he could easily explain that Sejanus was the rebel, not you. His family had more power and influence than the Plinths did, as they weren't from the districts.
"Miss Y/L/N here is about to be transported to District Two. She's a rebel. She's been filling Sejanus Plinth's head with anti-Capitol ideals, which Strabo isn't very pleased with. His son was supposed to make the Capitol his home, not turn against it." The peacekeeper explained to Coriolanus, and Coriolanus looked like he was in utter disbelief.
"Y/N?" Coriolanus spat out, "A rebel? Unlikely. If anybody is filling anyone's head with anti-Capitol ideals, it's Sejanus. Not Y/N." He states to the peacekeeper, hoping that he will believe the heir of the mighty house of Snow over district scum. The Plinths would never be Capitol, not really.
"Is that so?" The peacekeeper responds, "How is Miss Y/L/N not a rebel? Is there anything tying her to the Capitol, other than her family? Has she agreed to be married into a family of status?"
You couldn't believe that simply agreeing to be married into a family of status could keep you in the Capitol. That really couldn't prove anything, right?
"Yes, she is set to be married to me, upon our graduation from the Academy." You almost gasped in shock, not thinking that Coriolanus would come to your defense, lying for you in order to keep you in the Capitol. You held the gasp in though, and simply nodded your head.
"I am in love with him, sir. I wouldn't dare leave the Capitol, or say anything negative about it, when I have a man like Coriolanus to continue to show me the good that lies in the Capitol." You explain, stepping back to stand side by side with Coriolanus. He wraps an arm around your waist, pulling you closer to his side, rubbing his fingers soothingly on your side.
"How could you insinuate that my future wife is anti-Capitol? That is simply preposterous." Snow spits out, rolling his eyes before continuing, "I would never marry a woman that was anti-Capitol. I wouldn't taint my future heir's blood with someone that stood against everything that I believe in. This is absurd."
Coriolanus made a very strong case for you, leaving very little room for the peacekeeper to argue. You knew you had to go along with his lie, and keep up the act, in order to save your place in Capitol society. You lean up, and press a light kiss to Coriolanus' cheek, smiling sweetly once you pull away.
"I see, I will relay this information to my superiors. In the mean time, Miss Y/L/N is to stay at your manor, Mister Snow. There will be a trial, you will be called to testify on Miss Y/L/N's character, and her personal ties to you. I am going to dismiss you both from classes for the rest of the day, and I will be by tomorrow to collect you both." The peacekeeper grunts, turning on his heel, leaving you and Coriolanus standing in the empty hallway.
"I cannot believe you would lie for me like that, Snow." You whisper to him, and he grins at you.
"Well, Y/N, I have always had an infatuation with you, as you know," You roll your eyes at him, knowing of the crush Snow harbored on you as children. "And I could not let that district scum Plinth take you away from me before I even had the opportunity to have you." He explains, and you blush in response to his words. You couldn't believe that he still, after all this time, was interested in you. You knew you were beautiful, sure, but not nearly as gorgeous as the other girls Coriolanus spent time with, like Clemensia, Livia, or Arachne.
"You... you want me?" You ask cautiously, still in shock of his confession.
"Yes, you foolish girl. I realize I have not made my true interest in you more pronounced in the past, but I was just thinking of bringing my proposal to your father. What I was telling the peacekeeper wasn't all lies, I want you to be my future wife." Your eyes nearly bulge out of your head, not expecting a full on love confession from Coriolanus.
"Oh, Coryo." You whisper, looking directly into his eyes. You have always thought his eyes were one of his best features, and up close, you couldn't deny it. "I would love to be your wife." You smile at him sweetly, and you swear there is a blush on his cheeks, though you could never get him to admit to that.
"Really?" He asks, and you laugh, nodding. He then ducks his head, meeting your lips with a hesitant kiss. You press your lips back against his, hard, and he groans. You reach yours arms up, wrapping them lightly around his neck. You pull back for air, and press your forehead against his.
"I think we should go back to your apartment, so I can thank you. And show you that I am serious about wanting to become your wife." You tell him, and he groans again, thinking about all of the ways you could potentially thank him. You peck his lips once more, before he pulls away, gently guiding you to follow him.
As you both make the walk to the Snow's apartment, you talk about everything and anything, getting to know each other better. You both were serious, about wanting to marry each other, and if you were to marry, you should at least semi-court beforehand. And that involved a lot of getting to know each other: mind, body, and soul.
As he unlocked the door to the penthouse, you were slightly surprised to not see a fancy apartment. Rather, you saw a ramshackle place, that you could tell once held glory. You glanced at Coriolanus, who looked ashamed. You would never judge him, or his family's true financial situation, and you wanted to voice that to him. You didn't care that the Snows weren't as rich as they were before the war, all you cared about was Coriolanus. Besides, you could easily afford to pay for your future wedding, as well as help the Snow family out.
"Y/N..." Was all that Coriolanus was able to get out, before you started talking.
"Don't even bother, Coryo. I don't care that your family doesn't have as much money as it did before the war. I don't care at all about money. I know what I feel for you, and no amount of money that you have will change my feelings. Besides," You stop, worried that you may accidentally offend him with your offer, before continuing, "I could afford to pay for our wedding, and more, with all of my own money. You won't have to worry about a thing, darling. I could even help your family. I know that your cousin is a talented seamstress, and deserves more than what she has."
You see Coriolanus' jaw fall slack, before he cracks a smile you hadn't seen in years. It was beautiful, it was radiant, it was so Coryo, and you loved it.
"Really? You mean that, Y/N? You are not messing with me, are you?" He questions, worried that you did not mean a word you just told him, that you were simply toying with his heart.
"No, Coriolanus," You grab his hands in your small hands, yours quickly becoming engulfed by his large hands as he squeezes gently, "I am not messing with you. My father has a stupid amount of money, and I am his only child. I want to use the money I have for good. And helping your family is the good." You explain, wanting him to fully believe you. You would spend all of your allowance on him, if he wanted it. You had more than enough things that you knew he and his family merely wished for.
"Oh, darling. You are the sweetest woman in all of the Capitol, and you are all mine. Mine." He responds to your declaration, before leading you further into the apartment, and into his bedroom.
"All yours." You whisper, meeting his eyes. They were shining with unshed tears and love. You had never seen Coriolanus as a kind, loving man, as he was very guarded and reserved at the academy, only speaking when spoken to. However, you were so thankful that he trusted you enough to show that side of him, and it made your heart race.
He smiled at you once more, before speaking. "I remember you promising to thank me, and show me how you really feel about becoming mine, my darling." You knew that he wouldn't forget that you said that, and you were more than happy to show him how you cared for him.
You dropped to your knees in front of him, quickly unbuttoning his school uniform, and yanking the slacks down with the boxers he wore underneath. You gasped in shock at the size of his cock as it sprung up, slapping his stomach. He unbuttoned his top, quickly discarding in on the floor next to his bottoms, leaving him totally exposed for you, whilst you were still fully clothed. It felt powerful, him bare before you had everything on. He was surrendering himself to you, and you wanted to show your appreciation.
You peppered a few kisses to his thighs, before running your tongue up the entire length of his shaft. He was so long, so thick, you weren't entirely sure you would be able to fit him in your mouth. You had experience, sure, but you had never been with someone as large as Coriolanus.
He let out a low growl at the feeling of you tracing the vein that ran from bottom to top with your tongue, and you rewarded him by licking the slit of his cock, tasting his precome. Normally, the taste of a man's precome disgusted you, but his did not.
You then took the tip in your mouth gently, before hollowing your cheeks. You took him as far in your mouth as far as you could, feeling his cock bump into the back of your throat. You estimated he was about eight inches, with girth. You were one lucky woman, with a man that was far above average. You knew he would be able to pleasure you easily. But right now, all you were focused on was pleasuring him, thanking him for lying for you.
You bobbed your head up and down slowly, grabbing what you couldn't fit in your mouth with one of your hands, matching the bobs of your head with the twists of your wrist as you jerked the base of his dick. He was going crazy above you, letting out animalistic groans, hands fisted in your hair, gently tugging, as your worked your mouth over his cock.
You could tell he was close, by how loud his grunts got, and the way the hands tangled in your hair were pulling harder. You doubled down your efforts, moving your head up and down faster, making sure your hand was setting the same pace.
"Darling, I am so close. I am going to come down your throat." He warned you, panting. You didn't respond, continuing your efforts. You wanted him to come in your mouth, to truly thank him for being a kind man, at least a kind man to you. He came with a grunt, seed trickling in your throat, you swallowing it quickly.
Once he was done, you pulled off his cock, smiling sweetly up at him. He gently helped you onto your feet, making sure you were stable enough to stand after being on your knees.
"Thank you, my sweet." He told you earnestly, detangling the knots he had made in your hair with his gently with his fingers. You moaned at the sensation, and you could see his eyes turn dark at the sound you made.
He stopped running his fingers through your hair, instead setting his hands on your ass, pulling you to kiss him. The kiss was passionate, and you felt yourself beginning to dampen your panties. You pulled away from the embrace, panting heavily. You attempted to begin unbuttoning you uniform, but Coriolanus pushed your hands away.
"I want to undress you, darling. That's my job, from now on." He told you, removing both your top and bottoms, leaving you in your black, lacy bra and underwear. He groans at the sight of your breasts held up delicately in the bra, and hardens again instantly.
"May I?" He asks, his hands slipping to the clasp of your bra, waiting for your approval. When you nod, he unhooks it, gently pulling the straps down your arms, and tossing it somewhere you don't see.
Coriolanus lets out a grunt at the sight of your pretty breasts, bare for him. He kneads one experimentally, and you let out a noise of satisfaction. He smirks at your reaction, before stopping the ministration entirely. Instead, he sweeps you up, into his arms, carrying you over to his bed, gently settling you down in the center of it.
Clambering onto the bed next to you, he slips his thumbs into the waistband of your panties, meeting your eyes, searching for approval to remove them. When you nodded with a smile, he pulls them down your legs. Once they are fully removed, he spreads your thighs apart, revealing your glistening cunt to him.
He groans at the sight, and gently sweeps a finger through your folds, gathering your slick on the digit. He pops the digit into his mouth, making a noise of pleasure at the taste of you. That makes you gush a little more, pleased that Coriolanus likes the way you taste.
"Please, Coryo." You plead, "Take me. I'm yours. Please." You see him think for a moment, before climbing over top of you, muscular forearms holding him from crushing you with his weight.
"Oh darling, you are all mine. I can't wait to feel my tight little pussy clenching for me. Mine." He whispers hotly in your ear.
You grab his cock, pumping it a few times, then position the head at your entrance for him, and meet his eyes. He thrusts in, harder than you expected, immediately bumping into your cervix. You both let out noises of pleasure, overwhelmed with the feeling of one another. He begins thrusting rapidly, grunting at your slick coating his cock.
You were squeezing him like a vice, and he didn't want to embarrass himself by coming too quickly, before you could even meet your own end. He angled his hips, and slammed directly into the spot deep inside of you that had you seeing stars. You screamed, rapidly approaching your orgasm at the feeling of his dick stretching you out, slamming into your g-spot roughly.
Reaching a hand down your body, you rubbed at your clit roughly, and you feel your peak approaching. "Coryo!" You moan, "I'm so close. I need to come."
"I am close as well, my sweet. I promise, I will make you feel oh so good. Come for me" He smirks, continuing to pound into your tight heat.
"Oh! Coryo!" You scream, coming undone on his cock, your spend quickly forming a frothy circle around his dick as he continued driving into you, attempting to reach his own end.
"Please, come inside." You whimper out, and that was all he needed, spurting deep inside of you. You begin to feel faint from the overstimulation, but you fight it, and Coriolanus pulls out of you gently, the mix of your spend and his spilling out, onto your thighs and onto the bed sheets.
He climbed off of you, rolling you onto your side, before pulling you to his close, your back to his chest. You were both breathing heavily, and laid in silence for several minutes, until your breathing returned to normal.
"That was a perfect thank you, my future wife." Coriolanus whispers into your ear as you cuddle, basking in the after glow of your activities.
"I'm glad, my future husband. Thank you for everything you said today, Coryo. I mean it. I would probably be on the train right now, going to district two, if it wasn't for you, and your intelligent brain." You say, pressing back closer to him.
"It was no problem, my sweet. I knew I couldn't let that Plinth boy take you away from me, because of his own stupidity. That isn't your fault, and trust me when I say, the Plinth family will be dealt with." He tells you, eyes narrowing in anger.
"It's alright, Coryo." You attempt to soothe him, turning slightly to press a kiss to his sweaty chest, and he grunts back at you. "I'm still here, with you, my darling. There is nothing to deal with, I promise."
"He tried to take you from me. He knew I liked you, and lied to his father, to get rid of you. He thought by getting rid of you, he could get to me, without another in the way." Coriolanus tells you, and you gasp in shock. You didn't want to believe the words that were just spoken, but it wouldn't surprise you.
You knew Sejanus wanted more of Coriolanus' friendship than he had, and it didn't surprise you that he thought you were in the way of that. Sejanus was friends with both of you, or so you thought. He knew that his one best friend liked his other friend, and so he sought to destroy it. How truly awful.
"Oh, Coriolanus. I wish you had just told me that you liked me, rather than keep it a secret. Maybe this wouldn't have had to happen like this." You tell him, reaching a hand up to ruffle his curls. "I'm just glad you were there today, and defended me. I am no rebel, you know that." You giggled, continuing to run your fingers through his curls.
"You are a rebel, you are my rebel." He tells you, leaning into your touch. You blush at his words, before letting out another giggle.
You may not be the anti-Capitol rebel that the Plinths tried to pin you as, but you were a rebel in the way you loved Coriolanus Snow without a care in the world, money be damned. And that rebellious love that Coriolanus was able to tame was the only thing that mattered.
©keeplcving 2024. please let me know what you think, and feel free to send me requests! :) i’d love to write more of what y’all would like to see!!

      Act One: Autumn

Just before the first leaves fell, Crassus Snow, the former Duke of Districtshire, died beneath the warm thighs of a chambermaid, a simple fact that brought joy to His Grace, Coriolanus Snow, his son and the new Duke of Districtshire every single time he thought about it.
The social season had begun and from his rooms in The Corso, he could see that the entire street had begun preparations for The Plinth Ball to open the season. Sejanus would be arriving soon to go over strategy for a successful social event but Coriolanus wasn’t the least bit worried, in fact he was annoyed.
He was a duke now, his name was on several ladies’ dance cards, he had an entire legion of staff and a village at his disposal, the world should have been his for the taking. But with his new title came his father’s old debts and the bastard loved to spend.
His Grace Coriolanus Snow, Duke of Districtshire, was flat fucking broke.
A knock at the door interrupted Coryo’s dream of a new cravat and with the arrival of his grandmother and cousin, his annoyance only grew with whatever Grandma’am was about to pester him with.
“Coryo,I fixed the buttons on your jacket for the ball, pearls from the guest room curtains worked perfectly. I need to see it on you, make sure it fits like it’s supposed to.” Tigris said
Coryo was only happy to oblige as his most beloved cousin moving back in with them after his father died had been the only bright spot in weeks. Slipping into the tailcoat, he looked in the mirror, admiring Tigris’ work.
Above all, he would look every inch the duke his father never was even if he only had a bit of cabbage and cold mutton to break his fast all day.
“It’s wonderful,Tigris, thank you.” Coriolanus said truthfully, happy to see her smile while Grandma’am continued to look dour.
“I had a letter from Lord Highbottom. He purchased the country estate without any warning and he intends to buy this home, our ancestral home, within a year if we do not pay what your father owed him for investing in his peasant child fighting establishment failure. You must marry well and marry now, Coriolanus! Do you wish me to be the laughingstock of the gardening society?”
Grandma’am rather melodramatically threw herself onto the nearest settee, sobbing into a handkerchief while Tigris patted her back and gave her cousin an apologetic look.
No.
He did not wish to marry, not when there was fun to be had, that was something for a later date of his choosing, not in his first months of dukedom.
If it took selling off a prized horse or two, so be it.
Absolutely not, not happening.
“You know my grandson, Coriolanus? He’s very much on the hunt for a suitable bride tonight! There’s not a young lady in all of Panem that wouldn’t want the title of Duchess and my grandson on their arm.”
Grandma’am’s voice unfortunately carried throughout the Plinth ballroom and it took everything in Coryo to not jump through the nearest window and to a brothel where his coin was far more interesting than his title.
“Cheer up Your Grace, you’re scaring your potential brides.” Clemensia Dovecote quipped, stealing the  champagne flute from him with a smile.
“Is it really that obvious, Clemmie?”
“You look like you were bit by several snakes. Come dance with me unless you’d like to be set upon by overeager mamas in the next sixty seconds?”
Coriolanus could see Grandma’am leading an army towards him and joined the quadrille without a second thought.
All he had to do was pick the most agreeable one with the biggest dowry and their money problems would be settled with no more interference from Highbottom.
He could buy all the cravats he wanted.
No.
He was still a duke and dukes did whatever they wanted and at this moment he wanted a drink, not a duchess.
Yet as he made his way to the nearest servant, the sound of double doors opening made him stop and everyone in the ballroom cease talking and dancing.
You.
You walked through the double doors, a masterpiece for all to gaze upon and immediately every thought of leaving early left Coriolanus’ mind.
Perhaps there was fun to be had this evening.

♕ A/N: I have mixed feelings about the movie but I adore the book. My favorite character is Sejanus, ugh my heart bleeds for this character. Never stop I’d be writing a fanfiction for this story. Coriolanus Snow is an evil but interesting villain. I thought I’d dive into the dynamic of him essentially taking what should’ve been Sejanus’s life.
♕ SUMMARY: Poor Sejanus. Poor sensitive, foolish dead Sejanus. A good son, loving brother, and amazing friend.
♕ WORD COUNT: 1K
♕ WARNING: Death

Father had not left his study since word reached us. Every time Mother looked at me, I knew it was not me she saw. The tremble of her lip and mist of her eyes reminded me of my new reality. A reality where I drew breath as my twin did not.
I could not process it. Not at first. I would wait for a letter from him in the mail. His ramblings of doing good, of being better a constant any time he opened his mouth. Oh my good brother. Miles away. Hung in the districts for treason.
The first few weeks the house was silent. I could make out Mothers frequent sobs through the day. Other times the deep gait of Fathers boots from his room to his office. Rarely from his office to his room. Our home became much like a graveyard. Empty and cold.
This remained until the day Mother and I woke to every picture of Sejanus in the foyer gone. Mother sobbed for her baby, one would think Father was withholding her actual child. Still, my Father, the stern unforgiving statue of a man, refused to return all that remained of her son to her.
The first thing I began to forget was his voice. All the hours he spent in my room ranting angrily about our father. I’d lay on my bed watching him pace, his passion fueled and furious. I thought maybe he’d be president someday. Panem needed the likes of him.
“Well eventually Fathers time will come to pass and it’ll be you in the position of wealth and power. Be patient sweet brother. You’ll do great things, I just know it.”
He’ll hang in the poorest district branded a traitor. Some say he cried for Mother. Others say he cried for me. Oh how it was few and far between but make no mistake, I wept for my brother. My kind, sweet, sensitive dead brother.
As his voice faded over time so did the small details of his presence. How his curls always stayed so effortlessly in place unlike my own that would become frizzy in a moments notice. The way he his nose would scrunch when he laughed. His obnoxious snores he would deny whenever called out on it.
See, Father was happy to erase Sejanus from our home. His memory a reminder of everything our Father could never be. A compassionate soul. A loving brother and son. A good man.
𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐭 𝐌𝐲 𝐃𝐨𝐨𝐫
Then came Coriolanus Snow. His gaze distant as he stood in our foyer, my father greeting him like a son returning home from travels. Long gone the hand made shirts and boots a size too tight. The messy haired Snow appeared far different, he too have died back in twelve. I wondered if he hung too or perhaps his fate was far worse. A mystery to never be solved, especially not if Coriolanus Snow could help it.
“I’m sorry for your loss,” His gaze bounced between myself and Mother. My Father said nothing while Mother embraced Coriolanus as I stared at him.
“Are you?” My words earned a stern tone from Father and scoldings from Mother. I offered a forced apology my eyes never leaving the leech standing in my family home. Gaining the world from the misfortune that befell my dear Sejanus. My father’s new pride and joy. At dinner Father was thrilled to announce his replacement son would join my side at University come the new term.
I left the table without a word. My father yelled for me to return as Mother assured our unwelcome guest it was not personal. Yet it was. Sejanus was to be with me for my first day of University. Not Coriolanus Snow.
Perhaps it was unfair. My brother was dead and I had already spent a lifetime despising my father. So who better to bear the brunt of my anger than the man who gained it all as I suffered my deepest loss.
𝐈 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐈, 𝐈 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐓𝐨 𝐆𝐨
The night before our first day I stayed in my room. A knock at my door was an unexpected and unwelcome one. Mother was never a night owl and never in all my years had Father come to my room. Opening my door I crossed my arms leaning on the jamb. He stands holding a white rose his blue eyes piercing into my blank stare.
“I know you aren’t thrilled about me being here. I uh—I just wanted to wish you a good first day tomorrow,” Coriolanus spoke slowly. The rose still lingered in the air between us. I did not grab it.
“What happened to my brother?” His eyebrows quirked at my question, his lips parted as though he wanted to speak but nothing could leave him. I tilted my head my eyes narrowed before I retreated into my room leaving the door agape. At my shelf I rifled through the few papers and momentos of my own before finding the crumple paper stained with faded ink. The smudge writing typical for my left handed counterpart. My eyes on the paper as I return to the jamb, “…Coriolanus is here too. It’s nice to not be alone. His songbird is here, he plays it cool when I mention her but you can tell he cares for her. We’re like brothers, after what he did for me during the games. I’m going to protect him—“
𝐌𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥
“Are you accusing me of something?” His own eyes narrowed down at me. The glint in them something I could not put into words, at the time I had no knowledge of the nerve I struck.
“Did you know of his plans?” I asked crossing my arms, my tone lowered. Father was always a light sleeper, if he had even been sleeping.
Coriolanus sighed, his gaze locked on my own unblinking. I narrowed my eyes and stared up at him. He shouldn’t be here. In my family home, enjoying all the luxuries owed to my brother, not him.
“I did,” Coriolanus confessed. He wet his lips, as he shared his knowledge of treason so casually.
“Then why is my brother gone and you’re here?” The waver of my voice cracked my hardened resolve. My body trembled beneath the weight of too many emotions to sort. Confusion. Rage. Grief. Disbelief. I choked back a cry and allowed Coriolanus to pull me in his arms as I sobbed into his shoulder.
“Sejanus loved you more than anything. I promised I’d look after you,” Coriolanus touch was soothing as he poured honey in my ears. Capitalizing off my vulnerability. My brother’s true final words to me slipped from my grasp as I took comfort from the source of my grief.
“—I have already requested a leave of absence for your first day of University. Look at the bright side sister. You won’t have to fuss about my hair being better than yours on your big day. They have buzzed my curls from me. We’ll be together soon, sister. Give Mother my love. With love. Your brother, Sejanus.”

I can imagine Sejanus fucking the reader over the desk in his dad’s office after having a fight with him and/or out of frustration because he knew his dad was trying to teach him a lesson with Marcus 😳
mdni | nsfw | fem!reader
okay so like this is how i imagine it.
it happened the night after he went into the arena. his father hadn’t spoken to sejanus yet, being too busy with the damage control to focus on reprimanding his son. so like after the games the next day, you came over to check on sej and see how he was doing. his ma let you in immediately because she thought it would be good for sejanus to see you. so when you see sej in his dad’s office, you walk up to him.
you thought he would be crying, screaming, something. but instead, his tone was so soft as it had an underlining tone of frustration. “he’s going to yell at me so much when he gets home,” he’d murmur, taking a deep breath. sejanus glances at you. “i know what i did wasn’t the smartest thing to do. but i just-i had to do something.” he said, sighing.
you looked at him with a sad smile. “you did what came natural to you.” you said in understanding, wrapping your arms around him.
anyways so like after talking for a few minutes, sejanus is just like “let’s give my dad a real reason to be mad at me,” and then you’re bent over Strabo Plinth’s desk, getting absolutely railed by sejanus.
like he’s thrusting into you like he was angry. and he probably was. definitely not at you, never at you. and you’re doing everything in your power to not moan loudly. it would be very embarrassing if Ma Plinth were to walk in on you getting fucked by her son.
sejanus would be so dirty about it too, fucking you so harshly that the room was full with the sounds of his hips clapping against your ass. he wouldn’t say anything, just allowing his frustration be taken out through his cock. he’d have one hand on your hip while the other was gripping your hair, tugging it.
and when he cums, he cums with a loud groan, unable to help himself. and ultimately, it makes you cum too. and when you both are finished, breathing heavily, sejanus is pressing kisses into your hair and skin, murmuring praises to you. “thank you, baby. i needed that. you’re so good to me,”

TBOSAS on Crack short take (42)
Pres.Ravinstill: My dearest Mentors, in spite of the recent tragic events-
Felix: You mean the Arena Explosion Incident that almost got us killed if not for Palmyra Monty being absent that day?
Pres.Ravinstill: Yes. That one.
Festus: But why are we calling it tragic? Nobody died.
Pres.Ravinstill: Correct! Nobody died except for our government’s budget for reconstruction that is. Now I have to borrow another large sum of money from Monster Cardew- I mean, from Mama Cardew again.😞
Livia: That sounds like good news to me.😌💅
Coryo: Of course it does.🙄
Pres.Ravinstill: However, that is not the reason for why I’m here today-
Androcles: Mr. President, Mr. President, are you here for your missing Bichon Frisé puppy-
Everyone: Andie!
Androcles: Nevermind. I’ll shut up now.
Pres.Ravinstill: As I was saying, I’m here to make an announcement. An important one that will either make or break the future of our country. So Felix, come up here and give your Gran Gran a hug-
Felix: Am I in trouble? If so, just know it wasn’t me. It was Festus-
Festus: Hey! I ain’t no criminal-
Felix: Or Hilarius-
Hilarius: Fair enough.
Felix: And Sejanus.
Sejanus: Coryo! Coryo, my love, they’re bullying me again!😭
Coryo: Babe, please stop crying in front of the President. It’s embarrassing.
Sejanus: Ok. I’ll stop crying if you first give me a kiss.😘
Coryo: On the cheek?
Sejanus: No.
Coryo: On the forehead?
Sejanus: Lower.
Coryo: On the nose?!
Sejanus: Lower.
Coryo: On your chin?!
Sejanus: You know where, Babe.😏
Coryo: I-
Sejanus: Pretty please?🥺
Coryo: Um-
Lysistrata: Kiss him! Kiss him, Coryo! Coryo, please! For the SnowPlinth Fan Club!
Diana: You do know that the President is still here, right?
Felix: Don’t worry about it. My granduncle is part of the SnowPlinth Fan Club. Just look at him.
Pres.Ravinstill: Kiss him! Kiss him, Snow!! Crassus x Strabo forever!
Apollo: Crassus x Strabo?! That’s the wrong SnowPlinth Fan Club!
Felix: Tomato, Potato.
Florus: I beg to differ. That’s-
Coryo: *faints from embarrassment*
Pup: Well, I’ll be off to call the medics again.
Sejanus: *princess carries Coryo* Oh, don’t mind me. Coryo and I will be going home together.🥰
Pres.Ravinstill: Fine. I’ll go straight to the point. Felix, my beloved grandnephew, I am officially promoting you to be my new son and heir.😊
Felix: Wait, what?! Why me?! What happened to my other uncles, aunts, and older cousins?!
Pres.Ravinstill: Fortunately, they were all disowned yesterday.
Felix: Disowned?!
Pres.Ravinstill: Fortunately.
Felix: What about my parents?!
Pres. Ravinstill: Them too. So starting today, you are now my one and only son.🥹
Io: Oh, that’s so sweet!
Juno: ✨Slay✨, Class Pres!
Clemensia: Congratulations, Class Pres!
Iphigenia: Nice one, Class Pres!
Domitia: Let’s party!
Dennis: Food’s on Livia!
Livia: Suck a di-
Felix: Granduncle, are you crazy?! Why would you disown everyone but me?!
Pres.Ravinstill: It’s father now. And Panem, it was quite a funny story-
Felix: Please just tell me the short version.😞
Pres.Ravinstill: Fine. Your parents, uncles, aunts, and cousins had a big fight yesterday-
Felix: That’s just normal-
Pres.Ravinstill: Which escalated so fast that one of them intentionally destroyed one of my rare #SnowPlinth merch and my #Crasca4Ever hate shrine!
Vipsania: The audacity!
Pres.Ravinstill: Sis, you don’t even know the worst thing they did!
Vipsania: What did they do?
Pres.Ravinstill: Those damn ungrateful kids of mine vandalized one of my exclusive Bichon Frisé puppy posters out of spite!😡🔪
Everyone:. . .
Pres.Ravinstill: So I disowned all of them. Lol.
Felix: What the heck?!
Lysistrata: Not the SnowPlinth merch!😭
Pres.Ravinstill: I know! They were all so cruel to commit a crime such as that!
Sejanus: Mr. President, Mr. President, we must swiftly punish-
Pres.Ravinstill: Don’t worry, Mr.
Plinth. I already gave them a befitting punishment for their actions.
Felix: Which is?!
Pres.Ravinstill: Peacekeeper duties for 10 years without pay.😊
Felix: *faints from the shock*
Gaius: Fainting must be trending today.
Urban: You don’t say.😒

You Certainly Took Your Time, My Love
Tumblr media
Annie didn't know what had happened.
One minute she was old and frail, laying in bed with her sweet Caspian beside her. She'd died, she'd thought, looking at her son who was the exact picture of Finnick. Caspian's wife, Isla, and their twin daughters Naia and Talassa, were in Annie's kitchen, making a meal for her as she'd long since lost the ability to walk. Caspian had looked worried, his eyes filled with tears as Annie spoke slowly, and dying? Well, it had just felt like falling asleep.
But she woke up. Emerging from some kind of pool, she looked around the landscape. It was dark, thousands of tiny lights glittering in the darkness that Annie soon realised were stars. A gleaming white path stretched out into the distance, and the water around Annie's ankles fitted between colours, shades of pink, blue, green and red dancing beneath her feet.
And in front of her was Finnick.
"You certainly took your time, my love." He grinned, looking every bit as young as he had the day he had left her in 13. His body was flawless, no signs of the injuries inflicted upon him by the mutts Katniss had told her about years after he had passed, green eyes reflecting the lights surrounding them.
"What can I say?" Annie smiled, carefully stepping out of the pond and walking towards him. Her body was also young, probably slightly older than Finnick now - maybe around 25 or 26 - and clothed in a simple white dress that matched Finnick's loose clothing.
"I couldn't leave just yet."
"I'm glad you didn't," Finnick reached out to her, and he two embraced tightly, both shedding quiet tears for a matter of minutes before pulling apart. "I saw everything, Annie. Our son, his marriage, Naia and Talassa... You did so well, Annie. I'm just sorry I wasn't there to see it alongside you."
And Annie reached up to wipe the tear-tracks from his face, reveling in the way he nuzzled into her hand subconsciously. "What do you mean?" She asked, "I felt you beside me every day. Caspian knows you, and so does Isla, Naia, Talassa... They know you, and Mags, and Uncle Haymitch, Uncle Peeta and Auntie Katniss were always telling them stories of you. They knew you were there, watching over them."
Finnick was openly crying now, head still cradled between Annie's hands, and she leant in to kiss him gently. It was a sweet kiss, even filled with salt, and she let him pull himself together a little before asking her questions.
"Where's Mags? Haymitch? Johanna?"
"All down that path." He pointed. "They said it felt right to walk it. Mags waited for me, but she walked down that path after we... beat up, Snow. When he came through that pond we might have battered him a little bit."
"We?" Annie asked, a smile tugging at her lips.
"Yeah. Me, Prim - she left when her mother arrived -, Mags, Cashmere, Gloss, Wiress, a couple of guys from the squad, and two others. A Lucy Gray Baird from 12 - won just before Mags, they apparently enjoyed talking a lot before Snow showed up -, and a Sejanus Plinth. He didn't get the chance to walk the path - once we were done he took a step and just fell through it."
"I'm glad," Annie grinned, "he deserved it. So the rest of them are up that way?"
"Yep." Finnick nodded, resting his head on her shoulders. "And now it's our turn. Unless you're tied here?"
And Annie looked at the pond, looked at Caspian comforting his family at her funeral. Watched Katniss and Peeta and their children offer their condolences, being each other's support system and holding each other tight. Heard both of the adults from 12 telling him about how in love his parents were, and that they were surely reunited again to be sickeningly in love all over again.
He didn't need her to watch him.
"He'll be fine." She decided, taking Finnick's hand and starting to walk down the path. "I think we need to catch up."
And when Katniss and Peeta finally joined them, within a couple hours of each other, Annie and Finnick had already started their new life. In their own little segment of heaven, that tied on to Johanna's, and Haymitch's, and Prim's, and Lucy Gray's, and Sejanus's, was already inhabited by Mags, who greeted them with warm hugs and hot chocolate ready and waiting.
Annie had never seen Mags so young, with curly brown hair and warm brown eyes that had remained the same throughout the years, and it took her a minute to recognise her. But Mags had already helped create the landscape - a beautiful beach that lead onto a meadow, with a sweet little cottage tucked in. The cottage was perfectly sized for the three of them, full of soft furnishings and sweet decor that had been mimicked from their actual lives. Finnick's shell strings from his sister's were hung up in the living room, Caspian's childhood drawings hung up on a fridge alongside Naia's and Talassa's. Even some that Annie didn't recognise - with a small little F.O in the corner that Mags looked at fondly.
And sat on the golden sand, with Finnick's head in her lap, watching the waves lap lazily at their toes, Annie waited patiently for Caspian to join them.

Pretty Boy
pairing: Sejanus Plinth/Coriolanus Snow
warnings: smoking (don't do it guys it's bad for your lungs) - mild smut - lots of fluff
notes: this is a modern au where Coryo and Sej are both in University! I wrote it in like an hour but I really like it, posted it on ao3 and felt like tumblr should be blessed with it as well. Not romanticising smoking! read it on ao3 here
Sejanus’ hold on Coriolanus’ hand tightened as they ran on the train tracks. He squeezed his eyes trying to see better in the darkness of the night, the only light was the moon shining bright and white in the sky.
Tumblr media
If he turned his head he could still see the faint illumination of the street lights, though they were so far away they looked like stars in the distance. He looked down at his feet, careful not to trip and fall. He observed their shoes, Sej's converse in contrast with Coryo's ruined vans, looking so used Sejanus wondered how on earth they didn't break yet (though he was pretty sure if he kept running like that they were going to).
Coriolanus finally came to a stop when they reached the abandoned goods wagons, jumping on one that looked particularly rusted. Sometimes Sejanus thought he picked them old and rusty on purpose, to try to guess how many different diseases they could catch on them.
Once they were both on it Coriolanus took out two cigarettes, offering Sejanus one and putting the other one between his lips. After he offered the cigarette Coryo took out his lighter and lit up his own, taking a long drag, and breathing out the smokey air in the cold autumn night.
Sejanus asked him for the lighter but he shook his head, telling him to put the cigarette between his lips. Although confused Sejanus did as told and Coriolanus leaned in, using his cigarette to light up Sejanus’. The boy blushed, trying to act as if he wasn't turned on by the action.
Coriolanus noticed and smirked, kissing his cheek. He went to  sit on some old boxes that were lying in the corner, taking another drag and motioning for Sejanus to join him. He grinned and sat between his legs, leaning against his chest. “For once you're shorter than me” Coriolanus whispered in his ear, making him giggle.
“We're sitting.”
Coriolanus hummed and blew smoke in Sejanus’ face, making him cough. “You're such a dick.”
“I mean isn't that why you love me?” He teased, giving him a downsided kiss. Sejanus bit his bottom lip trying not to smile and scoffed, playfully rolling his eyes.
He looked down at his cigarette, taking a drag and letting the nicotine take over his senses and making him relax immediately, melting in Coriolanus’ arms. Sejanus closed his eyes and suddenly started laughing, taking Coriolanus hand in his.
“What's so funny?” He asked, kissing his boyfriend's forehead. Sejanus smiled.
“Ma’ would kill me if she knew I was smoking on an abandoned railroad with you.”
Coriolanus scoffed. “I’m sure you would have found a way out of it, your mother loves me.”
“Exactly. And if she discovered that you weren’t so lovable, she'd forbid me from seeing you. Especially if she knew you got his perfectly well behaved son into smoking, and probably start hating you for corrupting his sweet child.” Sejanus said gesturing to his cigarette and doing a bad impression of his mom. At least it got Coriolanus to laugh.
“I put my dick up your ass almost every day at your house, most of the time when she's right downstairs. Smoking would be the last of her worries if she knew.”
“Your dick doesn't diminish my life expectancy.”
Coriolanus shrugged, taking another drag. They both dropped the conversation and just sat there, in silence, enjoying each other's company. Coryo gently rubbed Sejanus’ hand, drawing circles on it with his thumb, sending shivers down his spine. He lived for these sweet moments he and Coriolanus shared, when it was only the two of them, alone, no one to watch or judge them.
“You know what your ma’ would also be shocked by?”
Sejanus threw his now consumed cigarette to the floor and shook his head, looking up at Coryo. “You giving me a blowjob in an abandoned goods wagon.”
Sejanus rolled his eyes and turned around, standing on his knees, so that he was now fully facing him. “You're a pervert. And also gross, I'm not sucking your dick here.”
Coriolanus pouted, “Why not?”
“Because it's gross!”
Coriolanus joined his hands as to pray him for it, pout even more evident on his face. “At least a handjob? That way you can also kiss me which, honestly, makes it even better.” He said, leaning in to give Sejanus a long, deep kiss.
He pulled away with one last short kiss but didn't move away, leaning on his boyfriend's forehead. “Please?” He asked again, his tone low, barely above a whisper.
Sejanus sighed, shaking his head. “You're a little shit, you know that?”
Coriolanus grinned. “That's why you love me.” He whispered, letting his cigarette fall on the floor.
Sejanus raised an eyebrow, “I thought it was because you were a dick.”
“That too. Which would also be the reason why you should love sucking me off.”
It took Sejanus a second to get a joke. If they were at his house Sejanus would have probably thrown a pillow at him, but instead he just stared at Coriolanus clearly not amused, while his boyfriend was having the time of his life- if his wide smile was a hint of it.
He scoffed, leaning away and sitting on the floor. “Is there at least one positive thing that I love about you then?”
Coriolanus seemed to think about it, tapping his chin with his finger and looking up to search for the answer. “Okay: answer a, I’m a walking green flag-” He was interrupted by Sejanus snorting, trying to hold in the laugh that was erupting from his throat. He coughed trying to cover it up when he noticed the glare Coriolanus was sending him.
“Ahem. Sorry. You were saying?”
“Answer b,” Coriolanus continued, “you love the way I look.” He smirked proudly, looking away.
Sejanus bit the inside of his cheek, checking Coriolanus out. “Alright, you may be onto something here.” He admitted.
Coriolanus turned around again with a wide grin on his features. “Of course I am. I’ll have you remember that you fell first, my darling boy.”
Both out of boldness and frustration Sejanus grabbed Coriolanus by the jacket and brought him down with him. In response the boy yelped in surprise, as he landed on top of his boyfriend.
“And you fell harder.” Sejanus whispered. Feeling the other’s boner pressing against his tight, he grinned. “You're hard, Coriolanus Snow.”
Coriolanus shrugged, playing it off cool. “You tend to have that effect on me, yes.” Sej scoffed, kissing his nose.
“That's gay.” Sejanus commented.
“And that's homophobic.”
Sejanus laughed, followed shortly after by Coriolanus. “Think you've earned that handjob, babe. For being so good looking.” He said, already starting to unzip Coriolanus’ pants.
Coriolanus sighed when he finally felt Sejanus’ hand on him, closing his eyes as he let out small whines in pleasure. Sometimes Sejanus wondered how this could be his life. He remembered when just two years ago he could only dream of simply kissing his crush, and now he was pumping his dick on an old train while his mother thought he was studying in the University's library.
Coriolanus changed him, that was for sure. He still questioned if that change had happened for bad or for good, but most of the time he didn't care. The time he spent with Coriolanus was what he looked forward to all day, everyday. He doubted that even if his ma’ was to ever find out about what he did, that would stop from seeing Coriolanus.
Without Coriolanus he probably wouldn't have started smoking, and maybe he would still be a virgin. Maybe he'd spend more time focusing on his studying and not hanging out in the park, their favorite place to have deep discussions about life- and more often than not to make out.
And as he drew Coriolanus into a kiss, swallowing the loud moan he made as he came, he knew he wouldn't change his current life for anything else in the world.
“I love you.” Coriolanus breathed out, panting as he came down his high.
Sejanus chuckled, giving him a peck on the lips. “I love you too.”

Note
it’s me again, loved your Sejanus angst story but I’m here to request another one, maybe where he gets betrayed by the reader or coryo and is super upset about it (like they are the only people he trusted and he thought they were his friends) so he goes home, locks himself away from his ma and breaks down
Warnings: betrayal, angst, crying, yelling
Synopsis: Sejanus figures out you made Marcus his tribute.
A/N: I'm trying to give as much Sejanus material as I can think about! Also, I would never intentionally hurt my sweet baby Sejanus.
"He said Marcus was his friend, just give Marcus to Sejanus, give me the-"
You looked behind you where Sejanus was standing. He couldn't look you in your eyes. You stepped towards him, but he moved back.
"Sej, wait!"
He walked out disappearing down the hall.
"What did I do? What did you make me do?"
You run out after him, calling his name, "Sejanus?" You find him outside.
"Wait, let me explain!"
He kept walking, so you had to jog in order to catch up with him. You try and pull him back, but he yanks his arm away from you.
"Don't touch me."
"Sej, please, let me explain."
"I already know what you are going to say, you don't love me, you just want to see me hurt. Or, better yet, my pa blackmailed you to do that?"
"Well no, but-"
"Then I don't want to hear it."
He walked off from you, stopping in his tracks and facing you,
"I'm breaking up with you."
Your eyes widened, as you come to terms with what he said. You start to reach out to him, but he walks off. You let out a cry, holding your face in your hands. What did you do? You needed the money, but you needed Sejanus more. You were in love with him, you never wanted to hurt him, yet that's exactly what you did.
You gather yourself before making your way back to the classroom with Sejanus' father was. You walk in anger plastered all over your face. You could slap him, but what good would it do?
"He dumped me. I don't need your money, I need Sejanus."
He laughed at you, then smiled.
"Why are you laughing?"
"I was never going to give you the money, I needed my son to see what I saw. A worthless, poor, capital brat."
Your tears threatened to fall, but you held them back.
"What did I ever do to you?"
"You fell in love with my son."
He left, leaving you in tears. He quickly made his way home, ignoring Sejanus and his wife.
The anger boiled over in Sejanus and he ran to his room. He sat on his bed and cried his eyes out. He was in love with her, and he thought she loved him back, but apparently not. Now his tribute for the games was supposed to be his friend from he districts. He didn't hate you, as much as he should or he wanted to he couldn't.

OMG I SAW THE STRABO FIC AND LET OUT THE MOST EXCITED FERAL SCREECH Strabo's father being so cruel to a child, ok I can see why Strabo turned out the way he is because goddamn, no child deserves to hear those things. Did Strabo's father and mother even love each other because the way the father talks about Strabo's ma is just so???? "dreadful personality", " pure hatred, pure fury", "scary"...does this man even love his wife and son?? And his pa slapping him so hard HIS BABY TOOTH FLEW OUT😭 turns out there is an even worse father than strabo omg I knew you said you imagined the pa to remarry soon after Strabo's ma died, but damn that was really fast. 8 months after the first wife dies, he remarries? How did he even find someone new that fast and get them to marry him when he's such a mean and bitter man? THE PART ABOUT A PRIEST CURSING STRABO AND HIS FUTURE OFFSPRING, SEJANUS YOU NEVER STOOD A CHANCE, YOU WERE DOOMED FROM THE START, but ok why is a priest cursing a 6 year old? I get being angry about a kid shooting an offering to the gods but again, he's just a kid, there's usually more leeway around children I'm crying at Strabo saying he was gonna protect the house but said nothing about protecting his stepmom, and he wonders why Sejanus is so mouthy lol, like buddy he inherited his mouthiness from you! Strabo saying he was a lonely child had me going awww until he was like, actually I like it this way, boy loved his peace and quiet lol, but him being too bossy and too boring to other children his age is just so on brand for him lmao Ouch to him being forced to care for siblings he has no desire to care for, especially since being caring absolutely does not come naturally to him. Does he resent his brothers? I can kinda see why if he does because parentification sucks and you should let children be children, not force them to care for other children. It just sucks all around because the twins don't have their actual parents caring for them and Strabo is forced to grow up even faster... omg the twins being named Remus and Romulus...please don't tell me this Romulus kills this Remus, like what happens in the myth...I need at least these Plinth siblings to be happy after what Strabo put them through😭 The twins looking just like Strabo except for their eyes!! If the twins' future kids look just like them too, I hope Strabo gets a mini heart attack whenever he sees their faces around D2 (or on the screen for the 25th games...) I also noticed that the twins called their father "dad" while Strabo refers to him as "Pa", was that intentional and is there a deeper meaning to that? But please not the parents punishing Strabo for making mistakes with the twins when they aren't even around to care for their own kids.... The twins calling Strabo "Bo" is so cute but ofc the man doesn't appreciate it (I have another nickname for Strabo that also starts with a B, but this one isn't kid-friendly) Strabo telling the twins to go upstairs to hide while he fends off the debt collector is convincing me more that he truly does care about the twins, he's just hiding it deep down under how tired and resentful he is of having to care for kids when he's still a kid himself (even if he doesn't act like one), unless I'm reading it wrong and he truly is just apathetic towards the twins and just doesn't wanna get in trouble with his father and stepmom for not properly defending the twins? But the twins saying they wanna be just like him when they grow up...my heart, and no you actually do not wanna be like Strabo, trust me
HELLO ANON HOW ARE YOU DOING? hope you're doing fine!! :)) (as always, I'm going to answer everything in one post 😭)
there were some themes that I really wanted to work with this fic, besides the generational trauma and the idea of cycles. one of them is how collectivist cultures have their pros and cons, and one of the cons is that usually, you're highly disencouraged to have something against your parents. they could've been assholes to you, and still, there'll always be someone asking "oh but they're your parents, they're family", because family is extremely important and something you have to endure no matter what. and I say that because I look at my parents' parents and they were the worst, and still, my parents still talk to them, keep them around, go to family gatherings and stuff. and it's not something isolated, it just... happens a lot, sadly, and it makes even harder to break the cycle
his pa was a dick. strabo doesn't think badly of him. he's better than him, but he still think his pa did some stuff right ("I went through it when I was your age and I am totally okay" no babe, you're not, seek therapy <3)
to me, strabo's parents were the classical kind that were reckless, had kids and now have to marry because of social stuff. then boom, unhappy marriage, traumatized kid. if I had to bet, it was a woman who got widowed too young, and now is desperate for another marriage (again, social stuff, misogyny, etc etc).
sejanus is doomed not even from the time he's born, he's doomed WAAAAAY before (you can take this in a more supernatural way, with the faith of the mountains being 100% real and influencing his tragic life, or just in the fact that he was just simply doomed bc of his bloodline; his ma had horrible parents, his pa had horrible parents, it's a cycle that comes long before him. his ma got her life destroyed by a too ambitious man. isn't really a surprise when his life is also destroyed). the priest was so wrong for thisKSKSKSKSKS 😭 but in his defense, it's for sure not the first time strabo shoots in one of the offerings, poor guy was probably at his limit atp
strabo is WILD, he'll just say anything (before he learned how to keep quiet and speak the right things at the right times). I just think it's so funny the idea of sejanus getting so much of his temper after strabo (he's mouthy, he's stubborn, he'll just say whatever is on his mind without thinking twice), so that's why strabo is so sure he can fix sejanus bc he was once like that 😭 (spoiler: he can't fix sejanus)
I feel like he's torn regarding the twins; he raised these kids since they were babies, he does have a soft spot for them, but also... he does resent them. it's not fair that they even got a mother, while strabo has himself and nobody else (his father doesn't really count), while having to take care of them. it's like when you know these ppl aren't to blame for the bad thing that happened, but still, they're the one you find yourself feeling angry about. NAHH I put their names bc they're twins (and plus, they were birthed by a woman, but raised by a wolf, I thought it suited well), but these two are very much happy in D2 <3 I really want them to have a happy life (until the first quarter quell welp
oh FOR SURE strabo saw the twins around D2 sometime; probably he moved to a place far away from the center to avoid this, but it's impossible to not see them around at least once. and he recognizes these faces, just like him, except kinder (and when he sees green eyes for the first quarter quell? oh, boy. he already knows. green eyes are not common in D2, you know. how would there be another explanation?). but noooo this was just me being a bit tired and not paying my whole attention when writing, I accidently let it pass, I'm so sorry 😭 PLS this makes me so mad, like, these are YOUR children, YOU should be raising them, not another child
I CACKLED he doesn't deserve being called bo, it's such a cute nickname 😔 I do think he cares about the twins, in his own way!! when he starts working and getting money from the store, he buys them new clothes, for example. he's bitter, he's resentful, but he DOES care about them. it's just that he's too angry to actually show it, or to even recognize it. hopefully the twins are VERY different from him; they grow up to be kind people, actually.
bro I'm always impressed at how many people actually do that (I mean, starting a store/factory and just being the worst at it). some ppl do that with the mindset with not wanting to work to someone anymore, which I think it's fair to some point, but usually they don't prepare theirselves to do it and run it, and it ends in disaster. yesssss I tried to include some parallels to coriolanus in this, and this is one of them!! (the big difference is that coriolanus pretty much did that his whole life, strabo LEARNED how to do this, how to hide the bad person he is inside and his feelings and smile and say whatever ppl want to hear).
ngl I do feel a bit bad for him, but in the same way I felt bad for coriolanus reading tbosas: I understand why you're like this and I don't think you deserved to go through this, but still, my anger towards you and what you've done to the people around you is much bigger than my symphathy. abt him naming sejanus after his father, it's exactly what I said early on: it's irrational, it's ilogical, but it's too much common (plus, since the factory did start with his father, I think that as it grew bigger and he got richer, he feels like he owe something to his father; this is also his way to say sort of thank you, trading legacy for legacy)
his stepmother wanting the factory gave me the same vibes of when an old relative dies and now all the relatives are fighting for a piece of land, but when you actually see the piece of land it's CLEARLY not worth it, and everyone is just being so dumb ☠️ I think it's more because of the sense of owning it. like, okay, strabo is working on it, but it's not hers. it's not something on her name. it's not something she can pass down to her kids. is it irrational? of course! but I also think she thought that he was going to leave them one time or another, bc of how much they fight and how explosive he is, so either she gets the factory now to make sure it won't happen or just loses it all at once. I think she underestimated him regarding the twins; I really don't think he would leave them in other occasion. regardless, it WAS a stupid decision.
THEY WERE JUST BABIESSSSSS JUST EIGHT YEARS OLD, FFS!!! (also, the fact that when strabo's relationship with his son gets 100% strained is when sejanus is also eight 😀 I'm not okay)
he definitely thought she was silly for it and probably mocked it once, but vesta takes her faith too seriously, and when he made a joke about it she gave him a glare that was enough for him to shut up and know to not joke about this (also, I think he does respect her to some extent, as for example letting her keep her little space in their house in memory of D2; I think he would think it's stupid, but wouldn't mind as long as she doesn't try to make him pray for the mountains). okay so, I think they were well-established merchants, but in the same way there are merchants in D12, yk; they aren't in the urban center, like strabo, and mostly sell stuff in the east end. they are better off compared to the other ppl in east end, but still, low-middle class at best, and they for sure never starved. I imagine them owning something like a bodega! so, one day, strabo sits down with her dad, and is like "would you like.... to form an alliance?" okay, not like this, but he did convince the man to use his cash reserves to invest in an expasion of his factory with the promise that it would benefit both the families. I think I didn't express myself well, I'm so sorry for the confusion!!! 😭
that man got four daughters, I'm just so sure he kept trying to get a son until he noticed it just wouldn't happen, and then got bitter over it. oh, absolutely he does buy into gender roles, just in a different way; he's the type of guy to go like "I wouldn't fight a girl" at the same time he's too indifferent to care about it regarding too important stuff ("you have two hands? you can shoot.") I do think he would be kinder to the twins if they were girls (and this also applies to sejanus; he would be kinder to him, too).
if I'm not wrong, they met when he was 20, and I think she was 18 (she was finishing school, as she was actually able to finish it). okay, so, I'm not from the usa (cries in international system of units), so I searched up to turn cm into ft, hope it's right 😭 but I think strabo to be around 6'0" (1,83m) and vesta around 5'6" (1,68m); of course she's not that short, but I hc people in D2 to be usually tall, so comparing to the average D2 person, she's short lol (also, it's just so funny to me the hc that sejanus was a small kid in D2, and then he got to the capitol and comparing to the others he was the tallest on their class)
(your asks definitely aren't overwhelming my inbox!!! I get so happy receiving them actually :(((( no need to be sorry, I thank you)
I HAD SO MUCH FUN WRITING THIS bc I was writing the way he thought and laughing at it because that man really thought a girl would travel from the other side of D2 just to poison him. alright, mate. sure. (I really think he's very alike coriolanus regarding this, thinking that everyone is against him or plotting against him 😭) if I have the silliest little opportunity, I will always include wlw in my works (let's go lesbians!!! let's go!!!), so I was giggling and kicking my feet when I got the opportunity to include her sister having a gf <3 I think most of her sisters were able to break the cycle and be happy, either by being alone, or dating better people, but... well... the cycle kept cycling regarding poor vesta.
nothing can actually make me think that it wasn't vesta who made the first move, I just know she was head over heels on the first minute 😭 strabo really pulling a coriolanus, like "omg I hate poor people" babe look in the mirror. because he isn't even rich atp, he's just slightly better than her financially.
her standards are really too low because she fell in love with a guy because he treated her well, oh boy, if only she knew he would ruin her life. and again strabo pulling a coriolanus (in the same way he spent half the book being like "I hate district ppl" just to then fall for a district girl 😭). I think they married around 23, so they spent like... around 3 years dating.
anon I'm so happy you enjoyed, and I have to thank YOU because your asks motivated me writing <33 and next chapter let's go with the daddy issues and plus more generational trauma and plus playing stupid games and winning stupid prizes
IT KINDA IS THE SAME MINDSET WITH SEJANUS, I imagine sejanus crying about having to go to shooting lessons and strabo being like "I did it when I was much younger than you". I think he goes with the kind of thought that's like "I'm not going to repeat the same mistakes, but I'll keep doing what I think that was right", but the point is: he did think his pa was right by being so stern to him, by treating him almost like a soldier. so, yeah. he DOES keep repeating the same mistakes, just in another form. KSKSKSKSKSKS the thought of one of the twins charging strabo the triple the price is just so funny oh my god 😭 they DO deserve some sort of revenge, but I think karma does enough for him. oh boy, imagine strabo seeing these kids running around during the rebellion, and being happy and so full of energy, and he looks at sejanus and he looks so sad, so lonely, and it's nobody's but strabo's fault. yeah. that's the problem with his karma, it affected much more ppl than just him :( NOBODY convinces me that someone didn't leak some of the votes of the first quarter quell. the pain, the betrayal, the destruction of the sense of community; of course that if your neighbour needs to protect their own kid by voting in yours, they WILL do it. and even if your kid doesn't get reaped... it's still so fucked up. I don't think I would be able to live in society anymore after that
the fact that he does have abilities with kids and is still able to fuck things up with sejanus is something else. OH MY GOD THIS IS HEARTBREAKING. he really never stood a chance, did he? 😭 not being able to bond with his maternal cousins bc of age, not being able to bond with his paternal cousins bc of his father's strained relationship with his uncles. KSKSKSKSKS strabo getting physical pain the first time he gets home to find sejanus playing with stuffed animals, and he asks what is sejanus doing, and sejanus goes like "I'm playing doctor pa :)", and strabo thinks it's just a phase. it isn't. and sejanus gets older, and strabo tries to coaxe him into another profession, ANY OTHER PROFESSION, REALLY, ANYTHING ELSE, teacher?? engineer?? lawyer?? baker?? veterinarian?? but nothing works and now he's sure this is destiny getting back at him 😭
anon, again thank you for sending me your thoughts, they make me very happy <33 take care!!

Who was the most lucky and un-lucky person from TBoSaS?
Why do you pick them? Please give reasons.
You can interpret the luck and un-luck thing however you want.
Thank you :)
@curiousnonny
Spoilers ahead!
hm that’s kind of tricky. I feel like it may be a boring answer, but I think Snow was luckiest, simply because he survived the longest. I don’t know if it was really “luck”, since that implies a something is out of our control, and Snow was very controlling and conniving. But I guess I’ll just go with that idk haha.
Maude Ivory is another, given the affinity that the Hunger Games seems to have for killing off their lovable innocent 12 year old girls, i think it was very unlikely for her to survive but i’m glad she did!! 😭
On the other hand, there’s so many options for unluckiest! The obvious choice for me is Sejanus, mostly because i think he’s my favourite character haha. He was so genuine and wanted to make a difference, only to be betrayed by the person he trusted most.
As an extension of Sejanus, his mother also feels very tragic to me. She’s such a sweet woman who just wants to believe the best of everyone. And she ends up taking in the man who killed her beloved son and sees her as his maid, and I don’t think she ever learns the truth.
Casca is another example though. While he does enjoy the benefits of living in the Capitol, he has been saddled with the immense burden of being named the creator of the hunger games, because of a mistake and betrayal in his childhood. And then to be poisoned by the son of the man who betrayed him?? That’s pretty awful.
I think I interpreted the lucky/unlucky thing as most tragic hahaha sorry if that’s not what you were going for. I also have not seen the movie yet so I’m sure I’ll have more thoughts after!

Coriolanus Snow, Sejanus Plinth and self preservation.
My opinion on this will not be one of the popular ones, but alas.
I find it absolutely hilarious and annoying when people paint Snows betrayal of Sejanus as the worst crime he has commited.
Like, firstly - dude literally bombed a hospital and killed thousands of people..
Secondly-
Think about the reason.
Snow betrayed him out of fear for his own life.
The reason was self preservation.
And people are mad about that.
Would i snitch on my friend personally?
Probably not.
But i can understand why Snow did it.
And who knows.
As we have seen with Coral and many others. Your will to live can push you to extremes. That is our natural human instinct.
Coriolanus says it himself- and he truly seems to believe that Strabo Plinth would save his son while Coriolanus would be killed just for knowing him.
And would he be wrong to believe that?
No!
I do not doubt in the slightest, that if Corio did not snitch on him he wouldn‘t have hung beside him on the hanging tree.
Like that‘s literally what happened to Lil.
She was killed for knowing a rebel.
And Corio did try to talk sense into Sejanus!!
Multiple times!!!
But he didn‘t listen.
(I am not saying that Sejanus was wrong in wanting to save innocent lives, not at all. That is not the point here.)
So did Corio really have a choice?
No, he didn‘t.
Not if he wanted to live.
Sometimes you have to leave people behind so you yourself can survive.
And not to forget that Corio honestly seemed to believe that Sejanus would just be sent back to the capitol and get a slap on the wrist even if he did snitch on him.
He didn‘t think he would be killed for it.
And let‘s be honest.
Sejanus would have been found out eventually.
And Corio would have been killed for it too.
Two lives would have been wasted for an ill fated attempt.
It was an act out of fear for his own life.
A reasonable fear!!
Like honestly…my peoples?
How can you claim not to understand that and defend Coral in the same breath?
