I think this is the tenth years I've written an Amy's birthday story on my birthday. Enjoy if you feel like it.
“Stay in bed,” Sheldon yelled at his wife just as she started to put her feet on the floor. She wasn't quite sure how he knew she was awake and starting to get up, but she stopped questioning exactly how he seemed to just know everything a long time ago. This was just life with Sheldon.
Amy Farrah Fowler was fairly certain that Sheldon had some kind of surprise planned for her birthday, but it was also a normal work day for her. She did need to get up and get ready for work. Plus she had to drop Leo off at daycare on the way. Still, she never minded being a little spoiled by her husband, so she slid her legs back under the covers and waited.
A few minutes later, Sheldon walked in with a tray. It had a pile of pancakes, bacon, eggs, and orange juice. Following him, in the cutest tiny chef's hat and apron was her son Leo. He was toddling behind his dad with a bowl of fruit in his hands. He stopped to eat a strawberry before he continued on and right into Sheldon's legs.
Sheldon just looked down and smiled at the boy. Leo could get away with murder in Sheldon's eyes, and touching without permission was honestly right up there in severity of crime. Still, Sheldon just placed the tray of food on Amy's lap. Then he picked up Leo so the nineteen month old could place the bowl of fruit on the tray with the other food.
“Can you say 'happy birthday, Mama?'” Sheldon asked his son. Leo didn't try, but he did smile at his mother, and to Amy that was just as good.
“Did you two wake up early to make me breakfast?” Amy asked them.
“Yeah!” Leo shouted. He didn't have a lot of words yet, but that was one he had down pat. He was such and enthusiastic and kind child that Amy could not feel any luckier every single time she interacted with her son.
“I need to get ready for work,” Sheldon told Amy. “Do you want to keep him or should I put him in front of a Bluey?” They didn't use screen time often to distract Leo, but it certainly came in handy on occasion.
“He can stay,” Amy said. Amy was debating just calling in to work and staying in bed with Leo all day, but she couldn't really justify it.
Sheldon kissed Leo on top of his head and put him on the bed next to Amy. Then he left to shower and get dressed for the day with a wish of a happy birthday to Amy.
“Thank you for making me breakfast,” Amy told her son. Then she started picking the strawberries out of the bowl of fruit. It wasn't like she didn't love strawberries. They were her favorite, but they were also Leo's. She also cut up some of the pancakes for her son. Giving to him always felt a little like giving to herself.
Leo was happy to snack on his mom's special birthday breakfast with her. He took off his chef's hat and leaned against Sheldon's pillow. Amy made a mental note to change the sheets because she was certain that the boy was getting juice and syrup on the sheets.
“Baby like strawberries?” Leo asked.
“Maybe. She just eats what I eat right now just like you did,” Amy explained as she rubbed her belly. They had only told Leo about the new baby two weeks ago, but he seemed to understand and was even excited about his little sister.
Leo handed over one of his prized strawberries for Amy to eat.
“For the baby?” Amy asked.
Leo nodded.
“Thank you,” Amy said. She was holding back tears, but mostly failing. How had she gotten such a sweet son? Part of her had always been a little afraid that her son would be too much like Sheldon. Then Amy remembered that Sheldon had made her this breakfast and brought it in for her to eat in bed because she was pregnant and it was her birthday even though he hated eating in the bedroom. Maybe Leo was like Sheldon. Like that side of him that mostly only she got to see.
Leo wiped away his mom's tears with very sticky fingers.
“Thanks, bud,” Amy said.

Hello! :)
I know it’s been a while, but I’m a huge Shamy fan, and I just found your blog, so I wanted to stop by to say I love your fics. They’re all really amazing and so beautifully well written. I’m glad I can go back to my favorite couple through your wonderful words.
So that’s it. Thank you ❤️
Take care
Hello, wonderful anon!
Thank you so much for reading my fics, and for your kind words! Shamy was what brought me into fanfic nearly a decade ago. ☺️ And it's interesting timing too, because I've recently gone back and reread a few of my Shamy stories myself. It's been fun, and really making want to do a TBBT rewatch. Maybe next year, hopefully.
You take care as well! ❤️

The Rival Recurrence, a TBBT fanfic (Shamy AU - enemies to friends to lovers)
Hi, I’m back with a new story I’m currently working on. Would really appreciate it if y’all could try reading and leaving a fav, follow, and/or review. Also!! Please reblog and share this to your other Shamy fanfic readers here if they’re interested :))
Summary: Sheldon could barely stand Amy Farrah Fowler during his childhood. Thankfully, she moves away and gets out of his life for good. Little did he know, she’d return years later.

Filling Empty Space - Logical--Dreamer
"There once was a time when she appreciated living alone in her apartment.
She could read and meditate on what she read without interruption. She could focus on her studies and allow her mind to focus on…well, brains. She could practice her harp without worrying about bothering anyone. She could....sit in the darkness for hours, wishing she had a friend.
But honestly, the highlight of living alone was that she no longer had to share a living space with her overbearing and overcritical mother.
She might not have had a social life, but at least she was free.
Or, well..she thought she was until the silence became too loud, and the overwhelming loneliness hit her like an ocean wave.
She had accepted her fate of being alone. No friends, no boyfriend. After all, why would anyone want to fill the space of her apartment?
She was different, and different was bad.
Different got stood up by her cousin for Prom. Different made-up miniature horse breeders to get their families off their backs when it comes to dating. Different makes deals with their mother about going on a date once a year. Different got trapped in a sauna with a Horny Otter.
She was fine.
Sad, but fine.
But then the ding to the dating website her Aunt sent her went off, and there he was. Dr. Sheldon Cooper.
She could remember the first time she saw his face in the picture on his profile. The icy stare sent shivers down her spine.
She didn't know what to expect when he agreed to meet for coffee. Would he be like any other man? Or would he be different too?
When they finally met in person, she didn't know what to think of him or how he made her feel.
He wasn't different. He was special.
It scared her.
After so long of being alone, finally, there was someone to fill the void. Finally, she had a friend.
But what if she ruins it? What if she shows too much of herself and scares him away just like everyone else?
She was disappointed but also relieved when he suggested a relationship of the mind. She can keep her friend but hold him at a distance.
When he started to encourage in-person meetings, she was in full panic. What do friends do together? What if she gets to know him better, and it ruins what they have? What if he gets to know her and ends up hating her?
She allowed them to step closer, but she kept up her walls. Whenever he seemed to reach out to her, to form a closer bond, she shot it down.
She wasn't ready.
When he terminated their relationship, she was sad but not surprised. What did surprise her was how he reacted to her being gone. It fascinated her.
Could someone actually like her company so much that it drove them to the point of buying a clowder of cats in hopes of replacing her in their lives?
For the first time, she felt wanted and realized she didn't want to be alone in her apartment anymore.
She wanted to slay the dragon of loneliness and force it out of her life. She wanted friends, and she wanted love, and she wanted freedom from the cage of her design. And now that she had a taste, she was desperate for more.
She wanted to be like girls in movies and have a best friend she could go to whenever she needed comfort or a laugh. A friend she could count on. She wanted a friend that would understand her in a way Sheldon couldn't. She wanted a Bestie.
She didn't know many girls, but Penny and Bernadette had seemed like the ideal candidates. Both are different in their own ways but full of potential.
Also, they were in her new social group, meaning they would be forced to spend time with her.
She knew that, at first, things were awkward between the three of them. She tried very hard to make them like her. She was desperate to make them like her. She was ready to change anything about herself, so they accepted her into their lives.
Well, nearly anything. She refused to give up her best feature: her brain.
She might not have been Penny attractive, but her brain made up for what she lacked in the outer beauty department.
So using her brain, she started an experiment on how to gain a best friend.
At first, she studied their behavior…how do her new friends "tick?"
Second, she evaluated the data to figure out who her best "match" would be.
Turns out, the knockout that is Penny was perfect for the role of BFF.
Next, she started to mimic their behavior. She started drinking, talking about coitus and blindly followed whatever the two blondes wanted.
She craved the attention they gave her, and their companionship overwhelmed her almost as much as Sheldon's did.
She opened herself up to the feelings and the experiences and ate up all the attention she was deprived of as a child. For the first time, she wasn't alone anymore, and never would she have to sit in an empty apartment again."
How naive was she?
She closed the tab that contained her blog with a huff and took a sip of wine straight from the bottle.
She thought the loneliness was gone, locked up tight in a room in her head where it would never bother her again. But here she was on a Friday night, completely alone.
She leaned back on her couch and pulled her blanket tight around her shoulders.
She knew her friends had lives outside of her, and she shouldn't expect them to include her in every little thing they did…but…
She let out a groan and took another sip of her drink.
How pathetic was she?
Once upon a time, she could fill her time with many things that didn't involve others. Now here she was, sulking.
She was a strong and independent woman who was a respected scientist in her field. She didn't need a pretty blonde and Bernadette to tell her what to do.
She rechecked her phone just in case they texted.
Nope. Nothing.
She sighed.
She didn't need them to have fun anyways.
She sent Sheldon a quick text to see what he was up to, only to frown. He was busy too. It was Friday. Vintage video game night and probably a movie with the guys.
She tossed her phone on the table with a huff. He was probably going to watch some cheap science fiction again. Trek Wars or whatever it was called.
She took a sip of her wine and let out a sigh.
Star Wars.
She didn't know why she pretended not to know. After all, her father was a huge fan of it when she was growing up.
She looked at the bottle in her hand with a frown. Penny didn't like it, so she acted like she knew nothing about it. Thinking about it, she pretended a lot when she was around Penny.
She set the bottle on the coffee table and brought her knees to her chest.
Had her desperation for friends caused her to lose a part of herself along the way?
Who was Amy Farrah Fowler?
She closed her eyes as the voice in her head whispered replies to her question.
"Annoying"
"Weird"
"Freak"
"Loser"
She covered her ears with her hands as she curled up more on the couch. No. No. She would not let her alone time be ruined by the very thing she was most proud of.
She just needed to fill the emptiness, and she needed to drown out her thoughts.
She turned on her tv and scrolled through Netflix, looking for a distraction. Nothing with friendship, nothing with romance, and nothing depressing.
She didn't need reminders of what she was trying to distract from.
She paused on a show and stared at it with curiosity.
Sheldon uses science fiction to escape from the world…if she gave it a fair chance, could it do the same for her?
She clicked on the first episode and tilted her head with surprise as a quote appeared.
"Great leaders inspire greatness in others." She read out loud before nodding, "I suppose…."
She listened as the narrator caught her up on the start of the episode, and though it was a bit childish, she found herself enjoying the animated show.
She had heard Sheldon talk about it a few times and how great it was.
"It helps you tie the franchise together nicely," Sheldon told her during one of their date nights, "though the order is atrocious. I am so glad the official star wars website put a chronological order."
She picked up her computer and pulled up the list.
If she wanted the full experience, she wanted to do it right.
She spent the whole night jumping seasons and watching arc after arc, completely lost in the world of a galactic war.
It had what she expected. Men with powers fighting with glow sticks. But it also got deep into the politics of war.
She grew to care for the clones and the Jedi that she had never spared a second thought for. Anakin, Ahsoka, Rex, Obi-Wan…so many characters that she grew to love in a single night. They filled the space and fought the loneliness…they were her friends.
Is this why Sheldon watched these movies? Did they take him to another world, away from the stress and confusion of day-to-day life?
She was about to start another episode when an unexpected knock sounded on her door.
"Knock knock knock, Amy."
"Knock, knock, knock. Amy."
"Knock, knock, knock, Amy."
Amy looked at the screen with longing before forcing herself to turn it off and walk to the door.
"Sheldon?" She asked in confusion; she looked at the man at her door at…she looked down at her watch, after midnight? Had she really been watching that show for almost 6 hours?
"Thank the lord!" The Texan exclaimed, relief washing over his face at the sight of her, "Are you alright?"
His eyes went down her body, searching for any injury.
Usually, she would make a joke about him checking her out, but after the evening she had, she was just not in the mood.
"Sheldon, what are you doing here?"
"You missed our scheduled Skype meeting and didn't reply to any of my text messages, emails, DMs, Facebook messager, Twitter-" he started to list off all the ways he tried to contact her.
"Oh," she replied with a slight frown, "I didn't realize I had missed it…I'm sorry."
"You're sorry?" He crossed his arms, "Amy, I was worried sick."
"You were?" She asked in surprise, "I thought you were busy tonight?"
"Yes, I was. It's vintage video game night, but you know I scheduled it around our nightly conversation." He frowned, "I feared the bobcat returned to your neighborhood."
"Oh." She mumbled again, "well, I'm fine." She tried to reassure him.
"You're fine?" He repeated, "Fine? You violated the Relationship agreement!" He pushed past her into her apartment, "Neither Boyfriend nor Girlfriend may miss their nightly Skype chat without a 4-hour notice ahead of time." He quoted and crossed his arms, "the only time where the notice is not needed is if you are sick, out of town, working on a breakthrough that may give you a Nobel, or if you are in a dangerous situation…like being attacked by a bobcat."
"Sheldon…"
"I had to make sure you were okay. As the boyfriend, it is my responsibility to check up on you and demand an explanation."
She sat on her couch with an annoyed huff, "Sheldon."
He paused in his rant and looked over the scene. Amy is sitting on the couch, eyes red, face flushed, a wine bottle without a glass to be seen…
"You missed my call to drink?" He exclaimed and snatched the bottle up, and held it up, "I told you drinking alcohol was a bad idea. I blame Penny! If she hadn't dove in like a seagull and snatched you away like a 6-year-old's hotdog, you-"
Amy rubbed her head and interrupted him with a loud sigh, "Look, I'm sorry I missed the call…I was distracted by something. Can we put a pin in the lecture for later?"
"Oh, you would love that!" He started to pace, "if we procrastinate one lecture, soon all the lectures will be put on hold, and what kind of world do we live in if there are no lectures?"
Amy watched him from her spot on the couch, "Did Leonard drive you?"
Frustrated, Sheldon aggressively pulled on his pants, "Bus Pants!"
"I see."
After a moment, Sheldon sat on the couch next to her and let out a sigh.
"Amy...why were you distracted?"
She looked at her boyfriend and nibbled on her bottom lip, "I was Lonely."
He blinked, "really?"
"Yeah," she looked down at her lap, "Penny is at work, Bernadette is with her mom, and you and the rest of the group were busy…."
"You know, Vantage video game night is extended to anyone interested," Sheldon said, biting his lip.
"And have Raj mad at me? Being yelled at for ruining a video game day once was enough for me." She pulled the blanket more around her and let out another sigh.
Sheldon raised his hand and lowered it a few times, unsure of what to do in this situation. He decided to pat her back gently, "Amy, it doesn't matter who is with me…you are always invited,"
"Really?" She looked at him with hope,
"Of course," he smiled at her, "I like spending time with you, and you always seem to make things more fun."
"You think I'm fun?"
"Well, yeah," he shrugged, "I'm not the only fun one in fun with flags,"
She smiled at him, "Thank you, Sheldon."
"Are you still lonely?"
She thought about it for a moment and realized that no. She wasn't.
Maybe after all this time chasing Penny, trying to make her like her, she neglected the very first friend she had. The most important one she had and the one she loved most.
"It's you, " she whispered in realization,
Sheldon blinked in confusion, "Uh, yes…it's me…are you sick?" He pulled his shirt up over his nose, "you said you were fine!"
"No, no!" She waved her hand, "I mean…I never realized it…but you are the chosen one. You're Anakin! You bring balance to my life and are meant to stifle the dark side that tries to consume my thoughts."
Sheldon blinked, "Was that a star wars reference?"
"You hold onto friends by keeping your heart a little softer than your head." She quoted, watching Sheldon's eyes widen in surprise.
"Are you quoting Star Wars: The Clone Wars?" He asked her, causing her to nod.
"That's why I missed our call...I was watching it on Netflix." She admitted, "I was trying to fill the emptiness by losing myself in another world."
"Oh," He looked at the blank screen of her TV and then back at her, "you know…there is a way to make it up to me for making me worried that I came here at this time of night."
She tilted her head in confusion, "how?"
"Watching clone wars together."
"Really?" She smiled shyly, "I'd like that,"
"Good," he nodded as he watched her load the next episode on her screen, "Amy, what are you trying to pull?"
She looked at him in confusion.
"Start with Cat and Mouse," he shook his head as he stood up, "Silly lump of Wool,"
"But that's the first episode," Amy watched him walk to her kitchen and start making tea for the two of them.
"Yes, I know." He looked at her, "we are in for a long night, Amy Farrah Fowler," he shook his head, "and don't think that you are getting away with watching one of my favorite shows without me. I swear, what am I going to do with you?" He set her tea on the coffee table next to his as he sat next to her, "and really, Amy? Comparing me to Anakin? Do you really think Darth Vader will stifle the Dark Side?" He snorted and patted her shoulder, "you have much to learn, my young Padawan."
"I guess you're right, but he did bring balance in the end, right?" She asked him with a tilt of her head.
He looked at her, "Amy Farrah Fowler, you Vixen,"
'what-ooof!" Amy's question died on her tongue when a pair of lips covered hers in a quick, chaste kiss.
He pulled away and looked at the screen as if nothing had happened, "Now, hop to it. Clone Wars isn't watching itself,"
Amy looked at her boyfriend with a big smile and hit play. As the two relaxed on the couch, Sheldon's shoulder became her pillow without either really realizing it. The empty space in her apartment was filled by the man she loved.

Ships
I know I'm very late to the party but I'm gonna do this now.
Ship you wish had been canon
Tumblr media
Swan Queen (Once Upon a Time) Listen I will be mad about this till the day I die. Queerbaiting at it's highest. We could have had the most beautiful love story.
2. Newest Ship
Tumblr media
Daniel x Vala (Stargate SG-1) I have been watching this show all my life (so for 25 years basically) and then my 2023 rewatch whacked me over the head with these two idiots. Daniel was always my fave and then I met Vala and now I am obsessed with both of them. Together and on their own.
3. Favourite Ship
Tumblr media
Ten x Rose (Doctor Who) Since I can't just put SwanQueen or Daniel x Vala here again, I am choosing TenRose. They were everything. I still cry to this day when I hear the doomsday theme playing.
4. Ship you want to be canon
Tumblr media
Isaac x Nigel (Ghosts cbs) Okay I am kinda cheating here because it is canon. But I barely watch shows anymore that are not already finished or cancelled. So this is the closest thing I could find. Let's just say I hope they will be endgame!
5. First Ship you were crazy for
Tumblr media
Shamy (The Big Bang Theory) Fifteen year old me was all over this. They were my introduction to shipping, tumblr and fanfiction. Now, ten years later and I'm asking myself: why? I mean I do still get it. But I guess they don't give me the feels anymore.
6. Ship you wish had more screentime
Tumblr media
Rumbelle (Once Upon a Time) I know they have plenty of screentime later on. I just wish they had gotten more before the writers went and completely ruined both their characters as well as this ship. I might have a thing for problematic ships but at some point even I draw the line.
7. First Ship
Tumblr media
Jake x Rose (American Dragon) I don't know if this is really my first ship but it's the earliest one I can remember right now. God their story was heartbreaking. Made ten year old me cry.
8. Honorable Mention
Tumblr media
Caskett (Castle) I don't know how much of me shipping this was just me projecting cause I had a crush on Beckett but fact is they occupied my shipping heart for quite a while and they are one of the few ships I actually read fanfic about. I should rewatch this some time in the future.

Note: I didn’t do the whole Fluff Crawlspace thing this year, but today is still the 13th anniversary of the introduction of Amy Farrah Fowler. I don’t expect anyone to actually read this, but I still wanted to mark the occasion. Here’s one for old time’s sake if I still have any Shamy followers here.
Sheldon was sitting in his old apartment, playing video games with Leonard, Howard and Raj for their monthly video game night. He missed the place more now that he lived a few miles away in a house with Amy, but unlike Leonard and Penny who had a second bedroom for their son, Sheldon and Amy had to move as soon as they saw that second pink line on Amy's pregnancy test.
Still, he had this place. Where he lived for years with Leonard and then later also Penny. It didn't really feel like home anymore, but the comfort was still nice. Especially when things just seemed like they wouldn't stop changing. In the years since he won his Nobel, he and Amy had moved, had their son Leonard, and written a book together. It was a lot to happen in just four short years, but at least Sheldon still had his friends and his wife.
Speaking of his wife, Sheldon looked down at his watch. It was ticking close to nine.
“Oh, crud!” Sheldon said to no one in particular.
“Language, Sheldon,” Penny teased from the floor where she was playing with her son. They were working on a Duplo Lego taller than the boy.
“Sorry,” Sheldon said. He hated cursing in front of the kids. “Amy is going to kill me. The Last of Us starts in ten minutes, and the bus ride home will be nearly twice that long.”
“So? She doesn't like your nerd stuff,” Penny pointed out.
“She's really come around on many of my favorite shows. She insists on watching both The Last of Us and The Mandalorian every week,” Sheldon explained.
Howard, Raj, and Leonard all started laughing.
Sheldon looked around at his friends who all seemed to be laughing at him. He didn't understand what he said that was so funny. It was true that Amy had never been particularly into his interests, but she did enjoy both shows a great deal.
“You know what they say, if your girl watches The Last of Us and The Mandalorian, she's not your girl. She's Pedro Pascal's girl,” Leonard explained.
“No,” Sheldon argued, but it was true that those were the only shows that Amy enjoyed watching with him now. Plus she had recently suggested that they rewatch Game of Thrones. “No,” Sheldon said again in realization. Then he got up and ran down the stairs to catch a bus home. The elevator, broken for so long, still worked after being repaired. Sheldon just didn't have time to wait for it.
When Sheldon got home, Amy was creeping out of little Leonard's room. She must have just gotten the baby to sleep, so Sheldon pulled Amy away from the baby's door. He had spent enough sleepless nights with Leonard that even he would slap himself across his face for waking the boy.
“What's up?” Amy asked.
“Are you in love with Pedro Pascal?” Sheldon asked.
Amy let out a sigh and pitched the bridge of her nose. “Sheldon, I have never met Pedro Pascal,” she reminded him. She never knew where something like this came from with him.
“You didn't answer the question,” Sheldon said.
“No. I'm not in love with a man I've never met in my life. I'm in love with the crazy one standing in front of me now. You know, my husband and the father of my child,” Amy said.
Then it came back to Sheldon in a flash. The conception of said child. It was right after Sheldon came home from Comic-Con. When he was dressed as Din Djarin, the character played by Pedro Pascal. He came home that night, and Amy couldn't keep her hands off of Sheldon.
“The Mandalorian fathered my child!” Sheldon accused with a finger pointed at Amy.
“Sheldon, look at me. You fathered Leonard. He's your son. What has gotten into you?”
“The guys said that you only watch The Last of Us and The Mandalorian with me because you love Pedro Pascal,” Sheldon finally explained.
That was something that Amy could finally understand. And it wasn't exactly false. Amy had had a bit of a thing for Pedro Pascal since he was Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones. That didn't mean she was cheating on Sheldon. As far as her husband went, it mostly meant that she wished he'd grow a mustache. She wouldn't leave Sheldon for a movie star.
“Sheldon, he's a handsome man. So are you. Don't you ever want to watch something because someone in it is attractive?” Amy asked as she gently rubbed her husband's arm. Then she remembered who she was talking to. The only person on the planet she had ever heard him express attraction to was her. It made her feel a little dirty thinking about that because Sheldon was a lot of things, any loyal was number one.
“Can we still watch The Last of Us? I'm actually invested in the story now,” Amy said. The characters were facing a pretty big cliffhanger, and the previous week had mostly been a flashback. Amy really needed to know how it all ended.
“Yes,” Sheldon agreed. Mostly because he wanted to keep watching. Unlike Amy, he knew what would happen next because he played the game. He still wanted to watch it play out on screen.
“Good. And he's not more handsome than you,” Amy promised, but she had her fingers crossed behind her back. She didn't quite believe it. It was still what Sheldon needed to hear.
Two months later, Amy and Sheldon needed to fly to New York for a meeting about the paperback version of their book. Originally only Sheldon was going to go, but Leonard and Penny offered to watch Leonard. They insisted that Sheldon and Amy needed a couple days away with a big comfy bed, plenty of sleep, and maybe a few other things together. And what better place than where Sheldon and Amy spent their honeymoon.
“That guy looks like Pedro Pascal,” Amy muttered to Sheldon as they waited for their plane to New York. It wasn't exactly uncommon for them to see famous people in the first class lounge the publisher paid for, but Amy only thought the man bared a passing resemblance.
After their minor fight, Sheldon had mostly not brought up Pedro Pascal or her possible attraction to him after that. He just wouldn't allow them to make love after watching anything he was in. That was fine with Amy. Fungal zombies didn't exactly put her in the mood anyway.
Sheldon looked at the guy for a moment, but didn't say anything to Amy. Instead, he got up and stomped over to the guy Amy thought looked like Pedro Pascal. Amy was alarmed, so she followed him.
“You stay away from my wife,” Sheldon said in a firm voice as they got closer.
Amy realized in horror that the man she thought looked like Pedro Pascal was Pedro Pascal. She slid behind Sheldon in complete embarrassment, but she also pulled on his arm. Anything to get out of this situation.
“Excuse me?” Pedro Pascal said. He had been minding his own business up until then, and he was sure he had never seen this man before in his life.
“You stay away from my wife,” Sheldon repeated.
“Sheldon, we really don't need a headline saying Nobel Laureate fights Pedro Pascal at LAX,” Amy reminded him. Sheldon still often forgot that he was a public figure now. It didn't matter much in their normal life, but the press would eat this up. Plus, they might both have tenure now, but that didn't mean they couldn't be fired for something completely off the deep end like fighting one of the most famous men in the country at the airport.
Sheldon looked down at Amy and nodded. After a moment, he turned back to walk to where they abandoned their bags before they could be reported as such to security. She could still talk a small amount of sense into him on occasion, and Amy said a quick prayer of thanks that today was one of those times.
“I'm really sorry, Mr. Pascal. My husband and I are actually big fans. He just knows that I have a little bit of a crush on you. I don't know what got into him,” Amy lied. She knew full well that what got into Sheldon was Sheldon.
“Is that guy really a Nobel Laureate?” Pedro Pascal asked Amy.
“Yeah. We both won the Nobel Prize in physics a few years ago,” Amy said with a small smile. She thought about asking for a selfie, but she had already taken up enough of Pedro Pascal's time. She rejoined her husband, and worked to distract him until it was time to board their flight. She prayed they weren't sitting anywhere near Pedro Pascal.
A couple nights later, Amy was snuggled up to Sheldon's side watching one of those late night TV talk shows. They only watched them when little Leonard was having trouble going down to sleep because they were on late and Sheldon refused to have a TV in their bedroom. However, there was a TV here in the hotel room for Amy to flip through channels. She stopped when she saw a familiar face on the screen.
“And it turns out both he and the wife are Nobel Laureates, I swear to God,” Pedro Pascal said to the host.
“Oh no,” Amy said. Then she saw her phone light up. The name of the caller was President Seibert.

20 questions for fic writers
Thank you to the wonderful @thisnightissparkling089 for tagging me!
1. How many works do you have on Ao3?
I have 21, and older fics on FF. My goal is to get everything I've done on Ao3 soon.
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count?
51,556
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently The Rookie, but have previously written fics for The Big Bang Theory, Gilmore Girls, New Girl, and Single Parents.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
While I'm Alone and Blue as Can Be
And If You Have a Minute (Why Don't We Go)
Maybe I'm Crazy To Suppose
We Must Be Living In the Golden Age
Before I Knew It (I Became All About You)
5. Do you respond to comments?
Yes! I try to respond to all of them, but I know a few have probably slipped through the cracks.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I really don't have any! Yikes. I'm a sucker for happy or at least hopeful endings. Maybe the closest would be Who's Gonna Come Around When You Break? It's not exactly angsty, but it is on the sadder side.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Allll of them?? 😂 Here are a few on the fluffier side of endings:
Maybe I'm Crazy To Suppose
My Favorite Line Was "Can I Call You Sometime?"
The Opening Night Prolongation
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Thankfully no!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I don't. I just can't do it.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Never written one.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not yet, but I'd certainly be open to a collab!
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Oof. I have a few in my top tier, but Chenford has probably been the most wonderful shipping experience I've ever had!
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
The thing is I absolutely want to finish all my fics! The most obvious answer is my Gilmore Girls multi-chapter A Tale in Prose of Fire since it hasn't been updated in *checks date* SIX years. But I know what I want to do with it, and I still plan to finish it. I also have an unpublished Single Parents fic I've been planning since 2020, and knowing literally only a handful of people would read it hasn't given me much motivation to work on it.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I LOVE writing dialogue, and I think it's what hopefully stands out in my fics. I've been told several times that my dialogue sounds just like the characters, which in fanfic, I can't think of a better compliment! So that's what I always strive for.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I'm not always the best at fully setting the scene, or getting into more minute details that can enhance the story. I also don't take enough risks in my writing, which isn't a big deal in writing a fluffy one-shot, but in some other pieces I've written over the years, I feel like the stakes could've been higher.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I haven't done it before, and probably the only language I'd feel even the slightest bit comfortable attempting would be Spanish. I'm nowhere near fluent, but know enough I could put some sentences together.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
My beloved Shamy from The Big Bang Theory. It's been 10 years since I wrote my first fanfic!
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
For my older ones, I love The Relationship Recalibration, especially a specific chapter that was a departure from anything I'd done before. I also love the previously mentioned A Tale In Prose of Fire even though it's still incomplete. And of more recent fics, I'm really proud of what I was able to put together in I Need Your Runway Lights To Burn For Me.
Tagging @sgtbradfords, @firstdegreefangirl, @americorys, @wanna-be-bold, and anyone else who would like to do this!
