sjcdrums: We would like to send out a huge congratulations to Brendon Urie on his announcement on becoming a father and for closing out an incredible journey with Panic! At The Disco for the past almost 2 decades.

We’d like to thank Brendon, Dan, Crush Management and the entire Panic! At The Disco team for their support of SJC Drums from the very beginning.

We first made Spencer Smith a kit to use when the band went into the studio back in 2005 to record A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out with Matt Squire, and we are grateful for their trust in us to have created some incredible works of art with them over their entire career.

From their iconic performance on the MTV VMA’s in 2006 with the first ever wood light up kit (which absolutely blew my mind to see the drums made Spencer on MTV!) to the acrylic and light up drums to the 3D printed kit we recently built with Dan, we’ve had the priviledge of pushing the boundaries on what custom drums could be and the P!ATD team was supportive of us at SJC the entire time.

In the final episode of Raw Craft, The Balvenie and Anthony Bourdain travel to the unassuming small town of Southbridge, MA. They visit SJC Drums and watch as their drum makers handcraft a custom segmented snare drum from Balvenie whisky staves, and then present the drum to Tré Cool of Green Day. Watch as Tré Cool gives the drum a spin during a live Green Day concert and get a behind the scenes peek backstage with Anthony Bourdain. Directed by filmmaker Rob Meyer.

Hey all you beautiful people. My name is Rex and I play drumz. Thiz iz going to be a blog about my life and a lot of music. I play drumz for About Tuesday an Orlando, Florida based band specializing in songz spanning from the 70z to today while putting our own unique spin on them. Think Blink-182 meetz Bruce Springsteen. I had a buddy create the logo you see on the header of this blog and you'll see that awesome logo across all of my social media platformz.

Let me know what you think of the logo, I'm really happy with it! He did an amazing job. I had to go with a Dino because my name is Rex so....duh. The colorz are taken from my drum kit, which you can see in the picture above is a beautiful SJC Paramount with the Tuxedo Stripe finish. It may look like I'm trying to rep a certain university here in Central Florida but thats not the case lol. I'll have better picturez of it in future postz. Along with my other kit, which is my grandfathers 1950z vintage Slingerland jazz kit. There will be a post about that part of my life too. But let me know if you can see what my Rex is modeled after or if you have a better name for him other than Rex 🧐, those of you over 30 will know very quickly what he iz modeled after!

I'm also working on a YouTube channel for drum coverz and other videoz but videoz take time and I'm a beginner for editing and all of that fun stuff. I'll let you know when that channel dropz.
