From what I understand, SuSu's power is drastically weakened because of the evil bone. All her power is focused on keeping it hidden. That's why she's not doing much right now. As for this episode, she was the bait for the demon. And since it's a nightmare demon, sleeping comes with the territory. That said, I do have an issue with how fiction constantly tones down the badassery of women as a series progresses.

Oh yeah I know why someone had to pretend to be sleeping. That's also why she was pretending to be loud and drunk and heartbroken, of course. It's just the larger issue of Susu being nerfed over time. I know she's not at full power right now because of the evil bone, but I haven't gotten the implication that she can't really use her powers much at all? Just that they're less than usual.

This is frustrating to me. They've literally added in a new plot that wasn't in the novel with a new version of Bingchang (someone no one asked for or wanted), but they've cut stuff people would actually want to see like Susu getting to fight, TTJ and LSS reuniting with Qingyu, and from what I've seen multiple kiss scenes. Who is making these decisions lol.

Soooo good!!! The characters are flawless, the story is irresistible, the bromance is off the freaking charts, and the whuuuuuuuump!! OH MY GOSH!!!!! And that's the first fic I read of hers and that road ended up with me becoming one of her beta readers and me gaining a good friend! :)

I'm slowly but surely working on your latest fic, I swear!! Life's just......*long drawn out exhausted sigh* at the moment...

all i will take are the consequences--Min-woo wouldn’t have guessed on his own that Lee Jun-seong and Song Jae-hyo were fucking.

At first glance, since I went in reverse chronological order, the main trend I immediately notice is that I've been writing longer first sentences lately. I think that's pretty immediately obvious if you just glance at this list. Some of the shorter ones (chasing their own fantasy, a shared punishment, A Small Black Puppy, Loaded Unloaded) are even their own separate paragraph.

However. Reverse chronological order of posting/updating is deceptive. "A White Snake" was posted recently, but I actually wrote it in September; "A Hard Call" was updated recently, but its first chapter was posted in October, and even then, it's a follow-up on a fic I wrote even longer ago. So... it's more like I usually write short first lines, but occasionally I do go longer, without much of a chronological element.

Otherwise... idk, there's a lot of variation. I don't often start with dialogue, but I do on occasion, especially when the fic is going to be short or fast-paced. I never start with imagery--"Chi and Mei" comes close, but it's only half imagery, really, the other half just orienting the reader in a canonical scene. "The White Snake" has a second and third sentence with more imagery, but the first sentence is more context. I often start with introspection, but I also often start with action. It's fun to try out different things.

It's really good, but it's got a lot of heavy topics.

I read it all the way through, and while it does have those topics, it does have good writing, really good dialog, and some very good moments.

Recommended age group: It's M. It's very adult. Do not read if under 18.

Story's Verdict: If you are an Aang lover (I am, I just don't like pairing him with Katara), and he is your sweet baby boy, do not read.

hiii im a new follower. I hope you dont mind me liking (for later reblogging) of nearly all your mctna posts. I just love all your comments and analyses in the tags and text posts, and your reblogs led me other amazing mctna blogs too. I just finished the series last week and i've been trying to find some really good mctna meta/discussion EVERYWHERE, it seems like such a small fandom D':

lol yes, I woke up to an explosion of tumblr notifications ahaha, it's all good, I'm happy you found them! The fandom is still eeking along, whenever someone new discovers woo do hwan, there's a fresh infusion of blood :3. Also there are a bunch of talented giffers who are single-handedly keeping the dream alive~ but it admittedly is hard for a fandom to stick around for one-and-done kdramas.

If you like to read fanfic/fanvids, there is a decent amount collected at AO3! I've written a few, and I've saved basically every fic on there that mentions sung-rok-- my favorite long fic is 'august sipped away like a bottle of time travel juice' by @convenientalias! But there are many good short ones too, take this one by @smylealong

For non-Sung-rok stories, I enjoyed 'Sundown', a zombie Kingdom x MCTNA mashup by chiiyo86, and @rain-hat has teased us with small ficlets like this and this.

favourite fic: ok so confession time, for those who didn't know it already my favourite ship in exo is sulay (it's not even surprising because yx and jm are what I talk about 90% of the times !!!). I love them a lot and they are the only couple whose fanfics I read (mostly for time reasons, but also because I don't get as emotionally invested when I read other ships). well, having said that, i can claim that I've read the majority of their fics on ao3, except for some where I really didn't like the content or the format ??

however I've never bookmarked my fav fics and I don't even remember the titles or authors, so I can't really think of a single fic that I enjoyed the most 😭 i'm really sorry for being disappointing lmao, but if anyone ever wants to talk about sulay fics w me i'm super open to do that !!

the other exo ships i read A LOT were sukai and suchen !!! I used to be really invested into sukai and I still read their fics sometimes <3

2. What character(s) do you find the most difficult to write for? Why?

I’ve just answered this here but basically it’s younger characters because I feel too far away /disconnected from them. 

4. Did you have any ideas that didn’t make the final cut of [Fanfic Name]?

In Tell me the Truth About Love , there was a lot of “back story” that I dropped. Sister Lee’s entire history of working for labour rights in the north, Kang Hyeon-min’s first boyfriend, all of the Complicated Romance between Koo Seo-Ryeong and her ex husband, and (saddest of all) Kim Yujin’s Dramatic and Top Secret Life as a Spy. None of this could find more than one throwaway sentence in the fic itself but I had lot of fun imagining these stories. 

10. What is the line you’re proudest of from [Fanfic Name]?

Oh wow. This should be a spectacularly difficult ask, but I have an answer! 

It’s a line that made me cry when I wrote it and every time I re-read it and the weirdest thing is that I’m sure most readers wouldn’t even register it, because it’s not, like, a beautiful sentence or anything. 

From “Destiny’s Child”, which is actually a silly, mostly fluffy rom-com + Lee Gon Liberation Manifesto. Gon’s finally realized that he’s in love with Yeong, confessed his feelings and has been rather brutally rejected, and this happens after: 

Instead, he makes his way to the stables, talks to Maximus for a while, and then makes his way out to the paddock.

I cried A LOT for Gon when I wrote this because it’s such a lonely experience, and that’s really what this story was about in a way- writing him out of the loneliness of a monarch and into a place where he can give and take love without that as a barrier.

20. What feedback makes you the happiest to hear?

ALL feedback is great! I’m not kidding. Even if it’s just ksskhdfkhdfkdhfsd i hate you or a series of emojis that I’ll have to google to comprehend (no seriously, I had to do that once!) I LOVE IT MUCHLY. Every time my email notifies me that someone has left a kudos on a fic, it’s a serontonin boost like no other. :)

Why yes, @smylealong​ convinced me to try Sword Snow Stride after all, and I enjoyed the first episode. It’s not perfect but it’s (so far) coherent and it’s such a pleasure to see a cast that can act unlike some atrocities I checked out earlier in the year.

I realize that this is a disguise, but I devoutly need him to take a bath or dozen. He looks like his lice have lice!
