i love that in a fandom, there is so much diversity in how we interpret characters. it helps me see different persectives and give characters i originally didn’t like a chance (and sometimes makes me dislike characters i originally didn’t mind). that being said, it is a bit disappointing that there’s not one headcanon for Azula that most people get behind. obviously, there a million different headcanons for all characters and they are all valid, but there’s usually one that is more common. i get why this isn’t the case for Azula: there is not a lot of canon setup for a queer headcanon. i do feel having one main headcanon (whether a ship or orientation) can make a character seem more human and relatable, and if everyone was behind lesbian Azula, or specific ship, or whatever, then there would be a lot less Azula hate. just think about what Zukka has done for Zuko’s non-canon redemption arc—people now view him as just a kid and not a monster. Azula needs that, because she’s just a kid. not a monster.

that being said, now we get more diverse Azula content, so i really can’t complain! i’ll take Azula Redemption anyway i can get it.
