ok i watched Megamind vs The Doom Syndicate (planning to watch Megamind Rules sometime this week) and it was definitely not meant to be a 'Megamind 2' by any stretch of the imagination. But it's been so long since the start of it's marketing campaign that i can't actually remember if it was being marketed as such? a bunch of articles about the movie/show label it as a direct sequel to the first movie, but none of the actual official trailers call it that. if it was more clear that vs Doom Syndicate was the pilot episode to Megamind Rules, i think it expectations for it would have been appropriately lowered

to be fair, i think there would have been less confusion if Peacock Kids didn't market Megamind vs The Doom Syndicate and Megamind Rules as two separate things

Like sure they're not the greatest stages or mechanics we've ever had but they're honestly not that bad? Once you understand how the civilians pathfind they're not that big a problem.

And the enemy abilities aren't too threatening either, I don't think? Though that might also be me using a lot of defenders?

I really could do without the ambush spawns though. It feels like bait to get people invested in getting Yato or Texas alter more lol.
