É impossível não estar apaixonado diariamente por Quem nos resgatou e ao mesmo tempo experimentar essa paixão por aqueles que foram resgatados como nós, e posteriormente nos dado como presentes para partilharmos a vida, as lutas, as alegrias e a comunhão de tudo aquilo que temos herdado em Cristo, a cola que nos une, e que nos traz à consciência que o passado de cada um também é agregado ao nosso passado, assim como as lutas e alegrias de cada um se tornam parte da nossa vida diária naquilo que chamamos de Comunhão do Santos.

"Times have changed over the last 500+ years, but some basic challenges never change. Also, God’s Word never changes. The gospel never changes. But the culture has changed.

When Martin Luther nailed those 95 theses on the Castle Church in Wittenberg (Germany) 500 years ago, on October 31, 1517, what questions might people have asked him?

Do you think anyone came up to him and asked, “Dr. Luther, it’s all very well and good to nail these theses on the church door. But explain how you can trust the Bible when carbon dating gives dates that contradict its genealogies”? Or, “did dinosaurs go on Noah’s Ark?”

Well, of course no one asked him such questions. Carbon dating was invented over 400 years later, in the 1900s. Similarly, he wouldn’t have been asked about dinosaurs (a term invented in 1841), Lucy (discovered in 1974), the big bang (coined in 1949), Charles Darwin (born in 1809), and so on.

Martin Luther was dealing with a different set of questions, which he understood as attacks on the authority of God’s Word in his era. He was confronting people who were using man’s fallible ideas and imposing them on the unchanging, infallible Word of God.

It was an authority issue. Who is the ultimate authority? God or man? This is the battle that began in Genesis three and has been raging ever since. The battle doesn’t change but it does manifest in different ways in different eras.

What Martin Luther boldly accomplished was to start a movement to challenge the church to return to the authority of God’s Word. He specifically was defending justification by faith. And so out of the Reformation came the cry for Sola Scriptura—Scripture alone.

Actually five solas (Latin phrases) came out of the Reformation. Sola Scriptura (“Scripture alone”) means the Bible alone is our highest authority. The other solas were Sola Fide (“faith alone”), Sola Gratia (“grace alone”), Solus Christus (“Christ alone”), and Soli Deo Gloria (“to the glory of God alone”).

I’ve often said that the ministry of Answers in Genesis is helping to ignite a New Reformation. This stresses the first sola—Sola Scriptura. In fact, God warns us that Sola Scriptura is the focus of the devil’s ongoing attacks on God’s Word in every generation. Second Corinthians 11:3 warns: “But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.”

In other words, the devil will use the same method on us that he used on Eve to get people to not believe the Word of God.

So what method did he use on Eve? We read about it in Genesis 3:1: “He said to the woman, ‘Did God actually say . . . ?’” Another translation puts it this way: “Did God really say?” Notice the first attack was on the authority of the Word of God, to get Adam and Eve to doubt and disbelieve God’s word.

The warning then is that the devil will attack the authority of God’s Word by creating doubt in his Word, which in the end can lead to unbelief. I call this the Genesis 3 attack. That attack has never let up; it never changes. But what does change is how the attack manifests itself.

Down through the ages believers have dealt with various attacks on God’s Word. For example, the early church faced attacks on the deity of Christ, Martin Luther’s era faced attacks on justification by faith, and the Enlightenment period of the 1800s faced attacks on Christ’s bodily resurrection.

But what is the main “Genesis 3 attack” today? I suggest the teaching of evolution/millions of years, based on naturalism (atheism), that permeates the culture and church. Evolution is really the pagan religion of this age, which secularists push as their justification for rejecting God and his Word.

Compromise with this pagan religion is a major reason the church is losing so many in the current and coming generations. It’s also a major reason our once-Christianized West is becoming less Christian every day, at least from a worldview perspective.

Today’s Genesis 3 attack has resulted in a loss of respect for the Bible’s authority. So many in the church no longer believe God’s Word in Genesis because they believe evolutionary ideas. As a result, the culture doesn’t see why they should trust the Bible on anything it speaks about. And so many Christians don’t really understand what they believe and why and don’t know how to defend the Christian faith.

Thus, this attack on Genesis’ creation account opened the door for coming generations to reject biblical authority. As a result many people are careening down a slippery slide of doubt and unbelief, resulting in a generational loss from the church, and a very secularized worldview permeating the church and culture.

That’s why I believe we need a new Reformation. We need (symbolically of course) people across this nation and the world nailing Genesis 1–11 on doors of churches and Christian institutions to call God’s people back to the authority of God’s Word beginning in Genesis. We need to question what’s being taught and hold the teachers accountable. We need to shut the door of compromise in Genesis, or we will continue to see the church’s impact on the culture lessening and the culture’s impact on the church increasing!

Sadly, most churches (not all of course), and most Christian colleges, seminaries and bible colleges have been impacted by the religion of naturalism by compromising Genesis with evolution and/or millions of years.

Yes, once again we need to be proclaiming Sola Scriptura in our generation, and confront the rampant compromise in the church, which makes man’s fallible ideas (evolution/millions of years) the authority over God’s infallible Word.

A igreja, ao longo dos anos, se afastou da verdade do evangelho e homens movidos pelo Espírito Santo se levantaram para tentar reformar a igreja trazendo de volta a verdade do evangelho.

Sola Scriptura é a doutrina essencial da fé cristã que afirma que a Bíblia é a Palavra de Deus e a única regra de fé e prática, ou seja, as Escrituras Sagradas estão acima de qualquer costume, regras humanas, experiências pessoais, e não deve ser aceita qualquer outra doutrina fora da Bíblia.

Observe a exortação de Paulo através da carta aos Gálatas e ao seu amado filho na fé Timoteo: "Admiro-me de que vocês estejam abandonando tão rapidamente aquele que os chamou pela graça de Cristo, para seguirem outro evangelho que, na realidade, não é o evangelho. O que ocorre é que algumas pessoas os estão perturbando, querendo perverter o evangelho de Cristo. Mas ainda que nós ou um anjo do céu pregue um evangelho diferente daquele que lhes pregamos, que seja amaldiçoado!" (Gálatas 1:6-8) "Tu, porém, permanece naquilo que aprendeste, e de que foste inteirado, sabendo de quem o tens aprendido, e que desde a infância sabes as sagradas letras, que podem fazer-te sábio para a salvação, pela que há em Cristo Jesus. Toda Escritura é divinamente inspirada e proveitosa para ensinar, para repreender, para corrigir, para instruir em justiça; para que o homem de Deus seja perfeito, e perfeitamente preparado para toda boa obra." (2 Tm 3.14-17)

Apenas a escritura é necessária para guiar a vida do cristão, através da biblia conhecemos a Deus e somos salvos. Nada Além das Escrituras deve de ser tomado como regra de fé, e não é necessário mais nada além do que está ali descrito para ser salvo e que, aliás, sabemos que salvos somos apenas pela fé em Cristo Jesus como vemos em SOLUS CHRISTUS que está registrado na revelação inspirada pelo Espírito Santo, as santas escrituras.

Aprendemos mais sobre Sola Scriptura ao ler e estudar a Confissao de Fé de Westminster, que logo em seu primeiro capítulo se refere às sagradas escrituras. Destaquemos os pontos I e IV, para concluir.

"I. Ainda que a luz da natureza e as obras da criação e da providência de tal modo manifestem a bondade, a sabedoria e o poder de Deus, que os homens ficam inescusáveis, contudo não são suficientes para dar aquele conhecimento de Deus e da sua vontade necessário para a salvação; por isso foi o Senhor servido, em diversos tempos e diferentes modos, revelar-se e declarar à sua Igreja aquela sua vontade; e depois, para melhor preservação e propagação da verdade, para o mais seguro estabelecimento e conforto da Igreja contra a corrupção da carne e malícia de Satanás e do mundo, foi igualmente servido fazê-la escrever toda. Isto torna indispensável a Escritura Sagrada, tendo cessado aqueles antigos modos de revelar Deus a sua vontade ao seu povo. IV. A autoridade da Escritura Sagrada, razão pela qual deve ser crida e obedecida, não depende do testemunho de qualquer homem ou igreja, mas depende somente de Deus (a mesma verdade) que é o seu autor; tem, portanto, de ser recebida, porque é a palavra de Deus. II Tim. 3:16; I João 5:9, I Tess. 2:13."

Sola Gratia (« Par la Grâce seule »)

Cette devise qui caractérise la Réforme de Luther signifie d'abord que l'homme n'est pas sauvé par ses œuvres morales ou pieuses. Pour Luther, le salut n'étant pas dépendant de l'homme, celui-ci doit entrer dans une relation de confiance et même de certitude du caractère offert et gratuit de son salut. Par ce même fait que la justification est offerte gratuitement, Luther pense bannir une relation de crainte liée à la peur de « ne pas être à la hauteur » des exigences de Dieu. La Sainte-Cène rappelle simplement que Dieu est un amour présent et réel dans le geste concret de son fils qui se donne pour le salut des hommes. Tout commence par cette initiative d'amour, cette main tendue. Paul Tillich, interprète de Luther, dira : « C'est cette grâce qui me réconcilie avec moi-même, avec les autres et le monde (Nature) et avec Dieu. L'éthique sera une réponse à cet amour premier ».

Sola Fide (« Au moyen de la Foi seule »)

Si l'homme n'est pas sauvé par ses œuvres, il lui est donc simplement demandé d'avoir confiance en Dieu : c'est la foi qui vient toujours par la médiation de la Bible (Romains chapitre 10 verset 17).

Solus Christus (« En Christ seul »)

À la différence de l'homélie, la prédication biblique de Luther n'est pas une fidélité aux doctrines du magistère de Rome et de la Tradition. Luther pense qu'il existe dans la Bible un noyau central interprétatif qu'on découvre dans ce que les Évangiles et les Épîtres disent de Jésus-Christ, particulièrement l'épître aux Romains ; pour les protestants fidèles au principe du solus Christus, cela rejoint les grandes affirmations du symbole des apôtres et des confessions reconnues par un grand nombre telle la confession d'Augsbourg. Ce sola indique que le salut de l'âme passe nécessairement par le Christ, et par lui seul : en d'autres termes, Jésus-Christ est l'unique intercesseur et non d'autres médiations comme l'institution, les saints, ou encore les reliques.

Sola Scriptura (« Selon l'Écriture seule »)

Sola Scriptura est l'affirmation selon laquelle la Bible est la seule autorité pour toutes les questions relatives à la foi et à la pratique. « L'Écriture et seule l'Écriture constitue la norme par laquelle tous les enseignements et doctrines de l’Église doivent être mesurés. » Ce point marque la première opposition à l'Église catholique qui déclarait que l'Église seule pouvait définir le sens exact et la bonne interprétation de la Bible.

L'origine de cette formule vient probablement de Martin Luther lors de son discours à la diète de Worms de 1521.

Soli Deo gloria (« Pour la Gloire de Dieu seul »)

Cette phrase signifie qu'aucun culte n'est rendu à un être humain, mort ou vivant, ni à un objet, ni à un symbole. Seul Dieu possède le caractère sacré, divin et absolu.

Perwujudan dari melakukan kehendak Tuhan adalah melaksanakan mandat budaya dan Injil yang sudah dipercayakan kepada kita, sebagai Kristen (Militia Christi = Prajurit Kristus), inilah tugas, tanggung jawab, kewajiban kita, inilah DOA kita (DOA = Diutus oleh Allah). Jadi, ingat !!! Praise & worship hanyalah salah satu sarana, bukan yang utama, bukan yang lebih dari segalanya, karena kita masih hidup di bumi ini, masih bergumul dengan dunia ini, itulah mengapa Yesus Kristus berkata, “Tetapi saatnya akan datang dan sudah tiba sekarang, bahwa penyembah-penyembah benar akan menyembah Bapa dalam roh dan kebenaran; sebab Bapa menghendaki penyembah-penyembah demikian. Allah itu Roh dan barangsiapa menyembah Dia, harus menyembah-Nya dalam roh dan kebenaran." (roh, bukan Roh, artinya roh manusia, maksudnya hidup manusia, the whole life of ours) dan di dalam kebenaran, yaitu: kepercayaan dan keyakinan kepada Firman Tuhan (Yesus Kristus), dan itu kita dapatkan dari Roh Kudus; yaitu IMAN, hanya karena kasih karunia (anugerahNYA) dan sekali lagi, hanya karena iman (Sola Gratia => Sola Fide).

Dan dari semuanya, yang menjadi goal-nya adalah PI (Pekabaran Injil) yang meninggikan dan memuliakan Tuhan Yesus Kristus saja !!! (Christus Centris, Solus Christus, Soli Deo Gloria).

"Quando os Cristãos são avivados, eles vivem de forma mais consistente, eles fazem suas casas mais santas e mais felizes, e isso leva o ímpio a invejá-los, e a inquirir por seu se- gredo.

Irmãos, busquemos um avivamento durante o presente mês, que o ano possa fechar com chuvas de bênção, e que o novo ano possa começar com bênção abundante. Vamos nos comprometer a formar uma união em oração, uma união sagrada de suplicantes, e que Deus faça por nós de acordo com a nossa fé.
