it is a little bit wild that by virtue of ats s5 being the last canon tv installment of the buffyverse, spike and angel's arcs culminate in... each other. like spike isn't allowed to rest after his sacrifice because the network needs to pull more viewers his new hero status has to be put to the test against angel. angel can't comfortably rest on his laurels as the vampire with the soul because spike is there. their arcs with buffy shape them into the people they eventually become, but canon deliberately leaves the future of those relationships ambiguous! ats is where they go to figure out how to lead lives without buffy but with the other vampire-with-a-soul in them. and i don't even mean this in the way where spike/angel is somehow more meaningful or romantically endgame than their other relationships, i just mean like... those two old dudes are never gonna escape each other, for better or for worse. like there's literally a whole prophecy to that effect. wild stuff.

Hey WHAT if I made your turtles [shiny emoji] slightly more scientifically accurate [shiny emoji]?
I'll start with the Disaster Twins.
Alright, so Leo is a red-eared slider turtle. At first I was skeptical about his blue shell and horizontal marks, but then with some research, I found red-eared sliders aren't always just the most gorgeous green - I found this lil blue gal in the pic! - AND their stripes CAN have some wiggles that make horizontal lines (first pic tart has one on its shoulder). So I didn't have to change those!
I did give him some actual stripes and plastron marks (there is no red-eared slider without those, plus they can be blue too so it suits him) though.
And a long thin tail because I'm okay with Trans Leo (male slider have short thick tails like in pic 2)
It was hard to figure out which type of spiny softshell Donnie was at first, but I was being dumb. It's obviously the Northern.
I started this whole project to fix Leo and Donnie's markings and DANG IT THEY'RE NOT INACCURATE- Spiny softshell turtles can have purple marks just fine (I'm pissed) so I let him keep his cool tech markings and just fixed his plastron. Picture one is a softshell's plastron, in case you hadn't realized. I know I took a while.
And!! Spiny softshell turtles have U-shaped nostrils. That's very important.
The hands and feet I gave Donnie are a little different from all the others' because so are spiny softshell turtles'.
But I think it'd be comical if the guys still couldn't tell the difference between the twins without their color coDING
OH, YOU MUST HAVE NOTICED LEO'S PERFECTLY FINE AND RAPH DOESN'T HAVE A HOLE IN HIS SHELL! That's because those are gonna be all in that time gap between the end of S2 and the movie.
If you WANt scientifically accurate post-movie wounds though.... Here's Leo's.

i've already made a post about "hey where does withers get the blood when he resurrects durge" so here's an extremely specific followup
if we've got an afab durge from a species with a menstrual cycle, do they...also have that cycle? i assume they would when bhaal made them bc he's all into spreading his unholy seed and whatever the fuck, but does withers do a complete factory reset? does jergal understand the ins and outs of living bodies with hormone cycles??
"Is Durge Undead" 2.0: can the vampire lick up some period blood

YAY OC RAMBLES!
Aight, ya asked for it!
Currently in the process of reworking an old sona to be a full-on oc of their own. It wasn’t really a ‘me’ anymore, so I wanted to give her her own shine and dazzle.
Here she is! Originally, the only thing I had for her was that she was a shark-themed villain version of a self-insert named Nora. She had little to no story as a villain, and no exceptional powers except for enhanced strength and breathing underwater.
Now, I have thoughts about her! Her new name is Frenzy. She lives in Deluge, a city protected by a few big heros, and some smaller heros, but fought over constantly by villains. Instead of being one of the big fish, Frenzy is more on the rogues side of the villains, stirring up trouble and doing small crime on more of a for fun basis than anything else. Her powers mostly lie in her enhanced speed and strength, but she also has some control over water. Not enough to be on the level of ATLA’s waterbenders, but just enough to bring in a thick fog or to make it rain. It works as a cover for her misdeeds. Frenzy also occasionally works as extra muscle for the bigger villains if they need more manpower on bigger jobs, or just to use her for scary dog privileges.
Between the bigger jobs and being paid by other villains, Frenzy gets on pretty well. Her tail and fin make it hard to blend in with the civilian population, so she doesn’t have a lot of freedom to roam about during the daylight hours. Luckily, she doesn’t need to. Frenzy had a young villain that she had taken under her wing/was training. His name was Phoenix (I’ll whip up a doodle of him later, he’s ✨new✨). Unsurprisingly, his powers are speed and pyrokinesis. Phoenix stayed under Frenzy‘s protection for years, until he made a sudden switch to being a hero and has started to fight her, just because he realized how much more profitable it would be if he had the people of Deluge behind him instead of against him. That ambition is going to get him killed.
Phoenix is the reason that Frenzy is getting reworked at all. I honestly hadn’t thought of her in years, but then Phoenix popped into my head and took it hostage for Frenzy. She barely had a personality beforehand, but now I know that she’s an action first, think later kinda woman. She stays as one of the more unpredictable rogues because people won’t mess with her as much, and she loves the way that her reputation and appearance frighten others. Frenzy will not hesitate to destroy months or even years of hard work if it starts to become a problem for her. If she has soft spots, she’s hidden them well.
I haven’t quite worked out the power system of this world yet, but when I do I’ll have a better explanation of the shark tail than ‘I think it looks cool’, but that’s all I have for now!

I've been thinking about Drusilla cheating on Spike. I firmly believe that she loved him, so the explanation that she did it because she didn't care about him is not it for me. Now, I definitely don't think cheating is okay and what she did obviously hurt Spike. I just feel like there was some sort of a rationale behind it, it wasn't some random thing she did without any reason.
Since Drusilla was sired, she's always had her family (and everything else they are), the Whirlwind, with her. Angelus killed her human family but then she gained a new one, something she clearly cherished. At first it was her, Darla and Angelus and later she sired Spike.
Then, all of a sudden, Angelus is gone and some time after that Darla leaves as well. I believe Drusilla was definitely hurt by that but she and Spike still had each other.
In Sunnydale Drusilla unexpectedly get's Angelus back and is obviously happy about it. (Their relationship is a whole other topic.) It's her, Spike and Angelus together again but not for too long. After Spike's betrayal – because that's how I imagine she sees it – she loses Angelus again. (Which would hurt her regardless, but – their relationship being what it is – she's likely even more messed up about it.) However, I think Drusilla and Spike's relationship would have survived that situation and they would have stayed together.
But then she starts seeing the Slayer floating all around Spike and he's 'covered with her'. I feel like Drusilla can see at least pieces of where he's headed and she's heartbroken about it. She knows, sees, that they're not going to stay together even though nothing's actually happened yet.
That means Drusilla's going to be truly alone for the first time since she was sired. All of her loved ones are going to be actually gone from her life. At this point Darla's dead and – depending on how much Drusilla knows – Angelus is either dead or resouled. Spike's future leads away from her.
In my opinion, the knowledge that she's going to lose the last person remaining in her family, someone she truly loves, is too much for her and that's what drives her to cheat on Spike. Her family's broken and she's going to be on her own, abandoned. From her perspective, Spike is, in a way, already gone and she needs to figure out how to go on by herself. I also feel like maybe she finds someone first so that she can't be the one who's left behind, all alone.

my favourite thing about g1 is how none of the autobots give a rats ass about how dangerous their battles are for the humans that tag along. do u think they just never bothered to really learn how humans work besides the obvious so they assume that while small and squishy they're still as durable as cybertronians. or are they like a fun passive uncle going "eh they can take care of themselves im sure its fine" and carry on shooting at each other without a care

A headcanon for you all that’s part sad and part funny:
After the Catacendre, Marsh lets his hair grow out again and keeps it at shoulder length because it helps hide the spikes in his head. It’s also something that separates him from the Inqusitors (and all the horrible things Ruin had him do), seeing as that’s a small aspect of his appearance that he CAN control.
He eventually shaves his head again out of pure spite when Kelsier won’t stop teasing him about his long hair. Sazed joins in on the teasing once Kelsier gets his own eye spike and pretends to get the two brothers confused with each other. They both hate it.

What kind of music does Spiky’s band play? Bonus brownie points if you can include any songs that would fit the vibe or that they might’ve done a cover of. 👀
Great question! When I think of his band, there's only one group that I think totally fits the vibe and that's Måneskin. The song Beggin' is a great example of how they would sound -- gritty, grungy, uninhibited-- and the band's style and antics in general definitely fit the bill too.
The Struts, Arctic Monkeys, & Gorillaz are other inspirations. Basically alternative rock with some classic rock & occasional heavy metal influence. 4skin is a pretty wild foursome.
