someone did a video of people's weirdest crack ships and one of them was wincest and now there's a whole thing in the comments about how crack ships are ok but shipping incest should be actively discouraged and I hate it
that is indeed wild but just checking when the fuck did wincest become a crack ship? crack ships are ones that don't make sense. Wincest makes sense in canon because they're creepily co-dependent and tbh I think a lot of their problems would have been solved if they had been fucking.

but also........the fuck does he mean sam had something else besides hunting? no offense but no the fuck he did not. that man was a cardboard shell who didn't even have a personality by the end of the dabb era. even the dog was clearly more attached to dean. do you know how dull and empty you have to be for a dog to be 'meh' on you?

notes on the podcast:
"bury it (aka the subtext)"
in context sounds more like writers lingo for basic script writing and edits. perhaps poor/ ironic/ eye twitch choice of words to use for a scene between dean and cas.
"show dont tell" note + line change:
not sure i fully agree with this. i mean they kinda read like two different things and there is telling not showing in both...
[breaks out script analysis glasses]
--
context:
cas in the car with past!dean on a suicide mission that he had no issue agreeing to go with future!dean on. cas is talking to past!dean
what aired:
“I used to belong to much better club and now I’m powerless, I’m hapless, I’m hopeless, I mean, why the hell not bury myself in women and in decadence, right? It’s the end, baby, that’s what decadence is for. Why not bang a few gongs before the lights go out. But then, that’s just how I roll.”
subtext:
Hate I not an angel anymore. Despair. Being human sucks. It's the end of the world why not cope with drugs and debauchery. I act like I dont care because I cared too much and look what happened.
original script:
“But instead we become this. The only thing, I think, we have left, Dean and me, is each other. If Dean says it’s time to go out in a blaze of glory, win or loose, so be it. I’m in, but then, that’s just how I roll.”
subtext:
It's the end of the world and that changes you. You lose pretty much everything and everyone, even yourself. Pretty much the only thing dean and I have left is each other and I am with him to the end. that's me. can't help it. shattered at the alter of winchester. even if the cost is my life.
--
comments:
thus far all we know is that cas is dedicated to dean and whatever dean decides to do (cc: prev scene). But what we dont know is the specifics, the why. The scripted version gives us an answer. "all we have left is each other" what of all this is real. we are. I can see how the scripted version is more tell less show. But the aired version does not convey the same underlying meaning (with less tell).
final thoughts: not sure what a different version might have looked like, but one that keeps the [you lose everything at the end of the world all we have left is each other] vibes woulda been nice.
--
update: we have two potential questions going into this scene. why is cas so ride & die for dean? why is cas all drugs & sex now? Each version of the scene answers one of these two questions but neither answers both. I would liked a scene that did THAT.

This is how you Tell me you don’t actually like Sam and are pretending to without actually telling me. What do you mean breathe life into him?! He already does have so much life. How do you miss that. I’m not exactly 100% a fan of Padalecki’s acting toward the end of the show, but he laid the foundation for the character was built on. There is no Sam without him. Also why is this poll that’s supposedly so focused on giving a character depth focusing on superficial physical characteristics?

question (for fic writing purposes): when did chuck create angels? chronologically i mean, castiel didn't witness creation, he was made after, right? or by creation do we mean "of humankind" and so he did witness it? I mean did chuck create everything at once or were there steps?

For the supernatural discourse:
7. Amelia or Lisa
Or
13. Leather jacket or Mary’s ring
Hello hello!
Thank you for the ask! I love the questions you chose!
7) Amelia or Lisa?
Lisa, hands down. Lisa was an interesting character and I could go on and on about how she provided Dean with a stable home when he needed it. How she knew that with Sam back in the picture, it was over. She was smart and could be funny, and the show missed an opportunity to flesh her (and Ben) out more. With Amelia, I didn't want to know anything more about her and I didn't care what happened with her character.
13) Leather jacket or Mary’s ring?
The leather jacket, for sure. It's so iconic. I love whenever Dean has it on in the show and was sad to see it go. It feels like Dean used it for comfort and strength. I don't know too much about Mary's ring. But the leather jacket's significance stayed with me just like the Samulet.
Thank you, my dear! <3

I’m ONE queer person in a diverse, infinite sea of queer people with unending POVs, so if yours is different, I absolutely respect it and think it has place and value in this, no questions asked!
But something about taking Dean, who’s been so horribly violently traumatized in so many ways and having his queerness be The Big Bad thing (or even just Another Big Bad Thing) just never sits right with me. I see so many works just bulldoze over the parentification and neglect Dean suffered at the hands of John and boil it all down to homophobia, or have Dean’s deepest darkest shame be him liking men when we know the absolute nuclear bomb Hell/torturing was to his sense of self esteem, or even have him absolute despise anything in his life that would “indicate straightness” (from sex to his car to the way he goddamn eats) in a way that hollows out his character to a husk of a man who was in agony from the day he was born to the day he died because he never enjoyed life in any way because everything he supposedly loved was a fake, put-upon character he had to perform. And one of the things I love about Dean so much is the fact he does enjoy life. He enjoys the silly little things and knows the importance of the big ones and fights to squeeze out joy and passion from every moment and makes stupid jokes and throws his soul into everything, from apocalyptic battles to stuffing his face. Why can’t him being bi(or whatever be your interpretation) be a part of his life that brings him delight and humor and joy and fun? Sure, the world can suck for us a lot, society and people would throw wrenches in his plans and he’d probably have issues from/around it, but to boil his character down to it and then boil it down to suffering and pain or even to a deep hidden secret just… Makes me so sad for the general state of mind people might have about queerness (specially their own).
I don’t even know where this rant is supposed to go! Projecting is fine and as valid of an interpretation as the one I have, and catharsis is something humans will always chase and find ways to achieve. I’m not the fandom police and you can and should write absolutely anything you want in any way you want. But I hope that my morose view of the topic does not correspond with reality, and that all y’all folks out there find happiness in the being (not to be cheesy) exactly who you are.

Sometimes I see spn discourse that makes me want to go. Guys the FBI just raided Donald Trump's mansion and found out he stole the nuclear codes from the whitehouse. If y'all care.

i don’t understand the obsession some parts of the spn fandom have with the bunker.
‘‘it’s their home! they’ve never had a home and now they have the coolest home ever! i love it so much! the show got so much better when they gave them a homebase!’’
motherfucker it DOESN’T HAVE ANY WINDOWS

idk i think the spn fandom would just benefit from not taking everything seriously. like there’s fucked up themes in the show but y’all will be bringing back discourse that you only want one right answer to and that’s it. you only want to hear your voice and then defend your favs from the bid old mean people. and it’s like that’s so fucking tiring aren’t y’all tired of having the same discourse over and over and over again in a game that you’re never gonna win?

9 & 17! (long time fan of your work thank you for all you write <3g)
Hello dear!
Oh gosh, thank *you* for being a longtime reader! I appreciate the ask. <3
9) Best season finale?
I'm so torn about this! I really enjoyed season 5's finale. But, I got to hand it to season 15. The finale of all finales. Now, I know it's far from perfect, but it does a lot of heavy lifting. It ties so much together. It completes Sam's arc in a more satisfying way than season 5. And you see the entire series so differently knowing what happens to Dean in the end. I think the writers and J2 did such a great job shaping it. They made this finale more cohesive and more about Sam and Dean than I think any other finale did in the series.
17) Favorite villain?
Crowley. What a great villain. I always think the best villains are ones who could also be your friends/allies in different circumstances. Crowley works so well against Sam and Dean together and separately. He knows how to push their buttons in a way other villains don't. Also, Mark Sheppard does just such a fantastic job playing him--and plays him with such consistency across multiple seasons.
Thank you again! I loved answering these. :D
