@agustdiv1ne ashlee, aur my god. my first thought abt tumblr user agustdiv1ne was ‘wow, this theme is so cute’ and my second thought was ‘wow, ashlee is so kind and chill and i think i would like her to be my best friend’ and now i hit her up at least once a week on some bullshit and i make her pick my next read or i tell her abt this bitch that owes me $500 <3 she understands me bc we were cut from the same cloth

@etherealyoungk i thought skye’s account was so cute 🥹🥹 omfg i remember the first time we interacted was on our birthday (april 30th, nobody forget) and ever since then she’ll come into my inbox and check in on me and it’s so endearing and makes my whole day. i also love hearing abt how she’s doing T-T NOW me and skye are lowkey bffls. we just buddy read a book together and it was saurrrr much fun, i love her sm 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽

@toruro my first thought of mika was adorable and i thought she was a really great writer. literally have her manhandling with chan tattooed on my brain. she is so nice to me and our brief biweekly interactions are very endearing to me <3

i did a pokeymon tierlist that took me three hours to do ;-;

i put it and explainations under a cut because its so big lmao. if you want it to not be blurry then open it seperately in desktop idk

lesbian tier: self explainatory (ill explain why i like them so much later)

my babies: good designs, sentimental, AND i like fighting with them

sentimental tier: various favs across the years, theyre more individuals than species to me because of my memories with these guys.

i wish pokemon were real: for pokemon that make me say "i wish pokemon were real"

ebic: i like them lots and i like to have them on my team

the funny little creatures: i smile when i see them and i like them

intriguing: hmm there is something here... but i'm not quite getting it maybe?

not rlly interested: this one is self explainatory... if ur fav is here im sorry :( im sure these guys are cool i just dont rlly think about them ever

fucked up: i dont like seeing them they make me uncomfortable

scyther was my first partner in my first pokemon game :) it was diamond. i overtrained scyther way too much and he (because it was a boy scyther) would do that thing where he doesnt listen in battle so i build his entire moveset around it. he was lost when i transferred him to heartgold and then dropped heartgold in some water. rip scyther always in my heart

togekiss was my friend alongside scyther. she was the first pokemon i ever trained up to lv.100. she was also a victim of the heartgold incident. rip togekiss always in my heart.

absol was the only one from my initial gamebeating diamond team to survive the incident. she was transferred over to my copy of platinum and after i ended up losing diamond, remained there happily. i dont want to transfer her to bank or home because i think itd be like moving an old cat to a new house. i dont want to upset her at her old age. also absol's design fucks. emo fringe lynx. absol is what sparked my emotions about dark types. also i played pmd1 as a kid.

gengar is gengar. also i played pmd1 as a kid and read a copious amount of fanfic focused around pmd1 gengar (everyone go read pmd victory fire now it doesnt even matter that its on forever hiatus and ended with a cliffhanger go read it)

the tentacool variations are here purely out of sentimentality. when i was much younger, id let my little sister borrow my copies of the gen 4 pokemon games. she was really young and didnt really care about rpgs in general at the time, so shed always just explore and catch random pokemon instead of actually playing the games. one time, after i got the games back from her, i looked in my pc and saw like. two full boxes of tentacool and tentacruel that shed caught. and they've all got nose themed nicknames like "nosey" or "nosenose" and other stuff like that. so apparently she was surfing about and saw a tentacool for the first time and was just. obsessed with how they looked and thought they looked like big noses (with the red spots being like nostrils i think) and just decided to catch loads and loads of them because she liked them so much. so it became an inside joke between us. i dont really have much in common with my sister anymore and our relationship is pretty cold rn but pokemon is the one thing we still hold in common. and ill always associate tentacool with her.

we all know why grovyle is where he is. same with dusknoir. theyre also good designs.

i really dont like enamourus because its fucked up how they designed three big buff genie men and then made one that was pink and skinny. awful. makes me angry. if they were buff theyd be one of my favs tho.

i really dont like the pla designs for dialga and palkia... theyve already both got very busy designs and i think these forms are Too Busy. i really wanted to like them but well... i look at giratinas two forms and cry over what could have been.

i dont like the tumblr sexyman lizard.

a lot of pokemon are in higher tiers cus theyre based on animals i like... i like a lot of cat pokemon for this reason. also i like the litten line cus it fucks. and my litten in sumo was a female and i like the idea of big buff wrester catgirl :3 incineroar is a really good design and shes big and strong... whats not to love.

also, i generally like a lot of designs which other pokemon fans dislike... i especially love more humanoid/furry "feminine" designs like primarina, lilligant, gardevoir, lopunny, tsareena, etc etc... i really dislike how a lot of these designs are just seen as like sexygirl designs by the community... sadly porn will exist of everything but these pokemon are also creatures. theyre animals. they may look a bit like a girl but they are still magic animals. like one time in moon i had a whole team of grass girlies and it was just fun to hang out with my funny grass lady creatures.

i like giratina because theyre a big ass antimatter caterpillar. drawing giratina helped me draw antropomorphic caterpillars actually. i like their big ass legs.

all eeveelutions are CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the lunar duo are my ultimate fav pokemon forever as a team for a big mix of all the other reasons. partly its sentimentality, cus i really liked them as a kid and i would always chill on fullmoon island in my copy of platinum and just listen to the music, i also always tried to do the void glitch to get darkrai but i always fucked up and never quite saw her! (i couldnt do the event cus living in shitty rural region reasons) i also liked battling with them in oras :3 i think their designs are very well done. they remind me of the "swan" series by hilma af klimt specifically, which is a series i really liked on its own. i dont think that was intentional, but i was looking at the work about a year or so ago for an essay and i sorta realized how well the overall color palette of that series matches the pair and cresselia specifically, because shes based on a swan ofc. and ofc darkrai is also birdlike but in a more abstract way. she actually reminds me a bit of the skeletons of one of those really fucked up breed pigeons with the receeded necks and huge fantails and tiny beaks and weird spindly legs. i also really like how unabashedly edgy darkrai's design is... i feel a lot of nostalgia for edgy character designs from the mid 2000s which were edgy in a very un-selfaware way (another reason why i like absol specifically and also like. so many ghost and dark types) and as an angsty kid i always used to gravitate towards those designs lol. i also think its kinda romantic, the idea of a creature which kills others simply by being around them, a typhoid mary type creature, which isolates itself due to that, with its only friend also being the only creature that negates its negative affects. and also that creature killed a kid in america (fucked up). thats how i interpret their relationship. anyway ive been having lots of thoughts about them for like over 15 years.

this is unrelated but its kinda annoying when ppl use gendered pronouns for genderless pokemon... its not gonna ruin my days its just. funny lol (ignore that i have used she/her for darkrai throughout this entire comment... when i do it, its ok <3) one of the sad flaws of the pmd series imo bcus the mainline games dont do that at all.

in general i think my likes and dislikes are more dictated by character design/sentimentality as opposed to ability in battle or fanservice or competitive meta ... this is just part of being a longtime fan who doesnt rlly keep up with the community anymore methinks. im kinda beating myself up for not putting more complex thought into this buuut also i wanna be true to myself yknow... but then again this community sucks so i feel like im gonna be attacked for putting idk wingull too low or something lol

general tumblr etiquette

tag your stuff, they wont be seen otherwise.

do not crosstag (tag a group youre complaining about), or tag unrelated stuff

reblog, reblog, reblog! if you see a post that interests you, reblog! this is super important as there is no algorithm and all the like button does is basically save the post for later

tag triggering things!! [thing] tw or [thing] cw should suffice, dont tag every possible version of a trigger, you only have 30 tag slots, it's the reader's responsibility to block all possible tags as theres no limit on blocked tags. I suggest trigger tagging after the 20th tag as tags after the 20th one dont show up on search (stupid I know) but still gets blocked okay

get a profile photo as soon as possible, this site has a massive bot problem and if youre thought to be one you will be blocked without hesitation

if youre on pc, I highly recommend you get xkit, its a browser extension that helps a lot with your tumblr experience

these are the basics, these have been talked about over and over with twitter refugees as well so I wont drabble on them too much

mogaiblr etiquette

1: keep in mind the intersectionality

the mogai tumblr community has a lot of overlap with other communities, namely the disabled community, nonhuman community and plural community. respect them, and listen to them, for they are your allies. you will see the overlapping community get referred to as "LIOM" a lot (like in my username), it stands for labels, identities and other minorities and is meant to be an all encompassing umbrella.

2: make your posts accessible

as I just said, theres a lot of disabled people in this community, so its important to make your posts as accessible as possible. I will talk more on this later

3: dont be afraid to ask individual blogs

there is no subreddit posting system, and if you just post a general question you likely wont get any answers, if you get seen at all, so dont shy away from asking individual blogs about stuff, if their asks are open, it means they WANT you to talk with them and ask them stuff, so never view it as bothering them. the askbox doesnt always say "asks" and similar stuff though due to being customizable, so just know its the little button to the left of the follow button.

4: check pinned posts

pinned posts are posts that are pinned on top of a persons blog, when you open someones blog, theyll be the first post to be seen upon scrolling down. a lot of people use these to introduce themselves, set boundaries, give request rules, talk about availability, etc. so its important to read these through whenever possible.

more on accessibility

1: image descriptions!!!

its basically where you describe the image, as the name suggests, tumblr has an alt. text function for it but it doesnt always work so little [boxes like this] right under the image is ideal for most, yes it makes it look less pretty, but is your aesthetic worth more than someone whos visually impaired not being able to understand the post? trust me no one cares if your posts are pretty or not. anyway, the ideal way to know how to describe an image is pretend youre explaining it out loud to someone across from you, who cant look at your screen for whatever reason.

2: plain text!

yes, tumblr has a lot of cool text features (like bold or italic, or even colored [PT: like bold, italic, or even colored. end PT]) but this is, again, unfortunately inaccessible, due to tumblr being a broken website it often doesnt register formatted text for screenreaders, plus it can be hard to navigate for people with disabilities even without a visual disability. this goes for fancy text and symbols as well (like stars emoticons or a cursive text font). so you have two options, offer a plain text alternative or dont format text at all. offering plain text can be done in the same way as image IDs (theres even an example above).

3: eyestrain

bright colors are awesome, trust me, Id know, but not everyone can view them properly without a migraine or even worse, a seizure. so its important to tag your posts with eyestrain if you decide to make a brightly colored flag, or even better, do your best to make the flag accessible instead, with slightly duller colors with more (or less depending on the flag) contrast. it doesnt make your flag as ugly as youd think, trust me ^^

4: availability cant do one or more of the things mentioned above for any reasons? dont fret! theres blogs out there that can help you, most of them do this out on their own accord.

currently the most active ones are @plaintextpro , @accessmogai and @transflorall (my blog hehe), who specialize in plain text, image descriptions and eyestrain-help respectively

please feel free to ignore this, but if you have a sec—how do you get your gifs so crispy? they’re so clear compared to a lot of the others I see around. would you mind sharing any tips? sorry if you’ve already answered something like this before (i’m a newbie). and no worries if you want to keep them to yourself. i just thought i’d ask. thanks for creating so many amazing gif sets!! this fandom is super lucky to have you ❤️

Hi! First of all thank you very much!!! ❤️

I did answer this before tho i cannot find my own post (thanks tumblr) but i dont mind doing it again!!

First thing is really to use the source video in the best quality available. Preferably youtube videos and i really download them in 4k if i can (this does kill my pc but its worth it).

To minimize the loss in quality when resizing them to fit the perfect tumblr format sizes (540p, 268px or 167 px) i use vaporsynth. it's not that intuitive at first but there are good tutorials on here in the #vaporsynth tag that explain it way better than i can. it can also denoise your gif which helps a bit if the source is not that good in quality!

The rest is done in Photoshop! I know it's kinda expensive but it really works the best for me (there are tutorials on here to get it for free too) I'm doing gifs for a while now but if you just start you can search on here for pre-set sharpening and coloring settings (psd files)! However theres tons of things you can do in photoshop really and i'm not an expert... if theres something specific u saw in my gifs and u wanna know about, feel free to ask! Otherwise I'd say just play around with the settings to get a feeling for it, especially for the coloring part i feel like there's no real right or wrong way to do it!

Most importantly tho: If you make gifs please share them with us!! And don't worry if they're not "perfect"! I did my first ones in an gif converter and then slowly learned over the years (and i'm still not happy with the ones i make sometimes), you'll find your own gif style! c: ❤️

First day of writing my thoughts feelings and experiences here and whatever else. I heard tumblr works well as a journal/blog so might as well.

Even though I'm honestly still not entirely sure how this platform works (especially not on the pc ver) we all learn as we go, don't we?

Anyhow. I gotta get back home from school.. can't believe I'm sick again! Man, it's all the girl's fault for not being able to keep their asses home when they're sick. I confronted one of the girls about it and she really said "You would've gotten mad at me for not coming to help with the project" (we are unfortunately working on a group contest together — a group of 6 girls) like, no girl, no one would. She was the one that got mad at another person from our group when THEY were sick and told them to come to school. Darn hypocrite.

I hate this damn problem doe. Its so stupid. There are ups to it though. For example, i didn't have to attend a bunch of classes which is cool but then again im falling behind w all the lessons and shit so thats not great.

I just want it to be over fast. Cant stand working w some of these people no more. Fake asf

Rn im taking a bath! My favourite thing to do ngl. Its so warm and nice and cosy. Outside, in the parking lot behind our house theres people setting up the farmers market. Ive always found it so endearing and nice!! I love farmers markets and even if i dont buy anything, just passing thru it is nice.

On another brighter than all the other notes!!! My boyfriend got accepted into Uni here!!! We'll be breaking long distance soon. Its all happening so fast but im so glad so so glad hes coming home soon. I miss him more than anything. He's also going to come visit in a week or so!! I cant wait

Next week our school has this thing called 'Green week' where we take a break from normal school activities to instead do other things related to nature n shit. In concept it sounds nice but our teachers always pick the most boring activities for us...that sucks. For example, we'll be going to the Botanical garden for 4 hours!!! That'd be cool and all but we all know the botanical garden like the back of our hands from how much we visited it.. Theres plenty of other things to see, im sure, but most teachers don't wanna bother with actual interesting stuff, unfortunately.

Another small something is that i have recently started playing Star Rail again! Its great!! I would say im doing quite well, advancing through the story and stuff... I still have to properly build my charas doe oops! Thing is, i came back for this new character called 'Boothill', truly a charming gentleman. Haha! I managed to farm around 100 wishes in a week with a bit of help from my boyfriend as well~ I will get Boothill guys trust!! I kinda gave in though and pulled for Aventurine as well ... and i got him. But theres around 40 days left to farm for Boothill so im sure ill be gucci!! Ill be pulling for both him and his lightcone... and hopefully more copies of him hehe~~~

Todays weather was kinda shitty. The weather has been shitty recently actually. Its so cold and it keeps raining even tho not too long ago it was all nice warm and sunny, like how spring should be! I miss the nice weather, i hope it comes back soon so i can wear my short skirts, long socks and cool graphic tees!

Hmm~ I might hop back on here later mayhaps mayhaps to write some more stuff but for now ill be signing off!

summary: mafuyu comes over to kanades house to study, and suggests that kanade should sleep. how could kanade sleep without mafuyu by her side though?

a/n: me and my friend came up with a love trope so i ran to tumblr to give yall kanamafu word vomit.

It was late. maybe. kanade thinks that it was late. but not late for her, it was late for everyone else in nightcord. maybe 6pm? her thoughts were drifting kanade away from her work. she was about to continue composing her next piece, when she got a notification.

yuki hey K, i cant study at home. it feels weird. like i cant breathe.

It was mafuyu. Her online name appeared on Kanades screen, and Kanade allowed herself to get distracted by mafuyus message once more.

K hey yuki :) youre free to come to my place if you want to.

Mafuyu coming over to kanade has become a pretty regular thing by now. Mafuyu has somehow convinced her mom to let her study at Kanades house, by saying that it was quieter.

It wasnt very long before Kanade heard a knock on her front door. She got up from her desk chair, which used to be her fathers. "Mafuyu, come inside", Kanade greeted Mafuyu. the air from outside felt utterly cold and gave Kanade goosebumps.

Mafuyu took off her shoes and Kanade closed the door behind her. mafuyu went right to kanades room, sitting down where she usually sat. kanades desk was huge, and definitely had enough space for a second person. it used to be full of empty music sheets, but kanade cleaned it up for mafuyu a while ago. since then it kind of became mafuyus spot.

kanade placed a glass of water next to her friend and sat back down on her chair. it wasnt long before they both started working in a comfortable silence.

mafuyu always thought it was weird. everywhere else, when it was silent there was a very awkward atmosphere. mafuyu always felt like it was her job to keep everything relaxed and lively, even if she was the opposite from that. even around her mother she had to keep up with the good-girl facade. and that facade made every moment perfect, and not awkward. but with kanade, no matter if they were talking or not, it was always comfortable.

a small side was heard coming from kanade. her eyes looked tired, and even mafuyu was aware of that.

"Kanade when have you last slept?", the question came sudden and mafuyu didnt think before asking, because it just felt right.

"Oh uhm...", Kanade took one quick glance at the clock from her PC.

"I think about 50 hours ago?", kanade only now realized that she hasnt slept in over two days. but if she stopped working, she would feel too guilty and stressed.

mafuyu felt a weird feeling in her stomach, as if she was the one who hasnt slept in two days.

"thats not healthy. you need to sleep", mafuyu said. "dont worry, i have stayed awake much longer before, and besides i cant go to sleep while youre here", kanade argued. "I dont mind, but you need to sleep kanade", mafuyu stood up and took kanades hand. "Come on", mafuyu remembers hearing about when kanade passed out because she neglected her health. she is scared that it might happen again. although she doesnt know why she feels this way.

Kanade reluctantly got up from her desk and walked to her bed. kanade is pretty used to falling asleep at her desk, so sleeping on her bed feels... rather odd.

She layed down on her bed, not sure of what to do. Mafuyu noticed her struggling, and started tugging kanade in, just like she remembers her mother doing it when she was still a little child.

Mafuyu returned to her work, and kanade tried to sleep, but didnt feel at easy at all. she kept thinking about her music, and different things she could try, and it made her want to get up again, but then she remembers that mafuyu wouldnt be happy about it.

The thought of mafuyu caring about her made her mind rest a little and stop racing. the next thing she said, she doesnt exactly remember why she said it, but it felt correct and in the end it did help her sleep.

"Hey mafuyu... remember that one time you were sick and you wanted me to stay with you while you were sleeping?", mafuyus eyes wandered over to kanade lying on her bed. she remembers the moment kanade is reffering to very vaguely. mafuyu remembers being sick and resting on a park bank, the next thing that she saw was kanades room, and that kanade was trying to leave. everything felt distant, and mafuyu was scared, so she asked kanade to stay.

"I remember it. you stayed by my side holding my hand while i was sleeping. why do you ask?"

"i was wondering... could you do the same for me?", kanade remembers her request very clearly. she doesnt know why she thought it would work, and it felt selfish to ask of mafuyu, when mafuyu was working, yet she still asked for it.

Mafuyu took one look at her half finished work, but put her pen down and walked over to kanades bed, before sitting down on it.

"here", mafuyu took kanades hand, and kanade put another hand around it.

Kanades head seemed to slow down a lot, and she no longer felt cold or alone. everything seemed to slow down, while her mind started drifting away.

she blinked once. and then again. feeling relaxed and like she had never slept better in her life. so kanade got up and walked over to her desk, to see a note hand written, by mafuyus handwriting which she could recognize by now. thats when she remembered how she fell asleep last night. she sat down and read the note

good morning kanade. you fell asleep quickly last night, and i left. i told the others you could come to that nights meeting, and they were okay with it. i hope you slept well. if youre wondering, no my mother was not upset that i came a little late that evening. please make sure to take care of yourself a little more. if you want i can bring you some fruits the next time i come visit you. please sleep more regularly -mafuyu

when kanade finished reading, she put the note in her desk drawer. and it made her think. she really did sleep a lot better with mafuyu next to her. it reminded her a little of how her dad used to sing her lullabies every evening. but it felt different. it made kanades heart wish for those moments to never end.

maybe mafuyu could hold her hand a little more often when she tries to sleep.

hello, yoko here.

so some of you may noticed that i changed my username, you can still call me as yoko but once the revamping is started, you will no longer call me by that name. i want to seperate myself from that name that made me known on the smg4 fandom.

this is a very long explanation so its under the cut, and note to people on tumblr around: it contains controversal stuffs happening on glitch productions

this change is because of the smg4 controversy that happened recently, with the main one being taris old va (celeste notley-smith) being replaced by a new one. which is okay at first because celeste is a mother and a teacher and needs to focus on other stuffs and yadda yadda, until you found out that she fired from glitch after 6 years.

FUCKING

YEARS.

now picture this: you are one of the first voice actor/actress from a recently new company, only to get replaced by a new one after years of voicing a character that you dearly love. the new tari va (lottie baurne) almost sounds like her old va and thats okay, but this situation is awful. not only that, robyn (smg2s former voice actress) is stepping down from glitch because of that. she recently made a video about this controversy on her channel "anime america", so please make sure to watch it.

yeah yeah i know jasmine yang (the voice director) made an apology, but that… is just not that good. sometimes we always forget things, but her apology? this is meh. im hoping to see celestes respond about her apology so the situation will be calm once again (like it was used to be… back in the early years). im also looking forward for the lerdwichagul brothers' responds as well.

and about the other controversy, we got glassdoor ratings about employee mismanagement coming from ex-workers, thanks to the ceo… aka kevin. i dont understand why kevin was hated by everyone back then, but it turns out that they are right. kevin is a completely different person with cameras OFF. that one scene from the episode "smg4… are you okay?" where smg4 tortures toads into manipulation by making videos for his channel became more obvious with this one. the good side is we havent heard about luke (smg4) yet.

on the other hand, i will probably start a career as a utau producer once i have speakers for my pc, dowloaded utau, and practiced how to use that software (hence the "prod" on my url). there is a chance that kikyuune aiko will be my main. smg4 stuffs will still be around, however you will see less smg4 stuffs here due to the controversy and the fact that this is a multifandom account aside from my likes. buuuuut that does not mean ill stop working on pandemic love distortion. (for those who didnt know about this one, its a wip smg34 fanfic made by me that was put on developmental hiatus due to irl stuff)

and for those who havent heard of it already, i will permanently post all my future arts to @blueberry-arts, but previous arts from my main will still be here and remain. so if you want new arts from mine go to my other account pls 🙏

Do you know what boils my absolute blood about tumblr? Blogs like this which encourage hate. The anon feature is too powerful. However im gonna use it to come here to try and put some things into perspective for those who are clearly struggling.

1. It is NEVER ok to tell someone to KILL themself. Never. How tf do u sleep at night?!

2. Your opinion doesnt make you right and inciting a mob mentality doesnt make u right either.

3. It was never about ai. It was about the person who shared it. It was about their writing. It was about the fact you hated her for comments made that u didnt agree with and you saw ur chance to ruin her.

4. The amount of jake ai ive seen shared by blogs who called her "disgusting" is hilarious. But its ok if someone you like does it, isnt it?

5. You all ATE her fics because they were superior. But because she wasn't as easy to digest as a person you decided she had to go. Nobodys perfect. Not even the so-called saviours of Jakes safety. Which btw is laughable. Considering the "bark like you want it" edits were all shared by you guys.

6. Did i mention its not ok to tell people to kill themselves? Yeah. I know for a fact it was one of you blogs that was once her friend. But you wont talk about that. All the times she hyped you. The times she gave you writing advice when asked. She gave ideas freely and supported other writers whole heartedly.

7. Her own DV and S/A trauma was overlooked in the discord. Nobody ever once cared. Only that she said things about what she perceived power imbalances to be. And that she didnt believe what she wrote in one of her fics to be sexual harrasment from her own perspective. You all jumped on that screenshotted it and shared it like a badge of honor. "Oh isnt she terrible" no shes a fucking human with thoughts feelings and experiences.

8. She was and still is my friend and to see her years of loving work gone is to me a great shame. Because despite what you think she wasn't disgusting. Or a monster. If u didnt like what she had to say then all u had to do was message her. The hate campaign said more about u than it did her and i really dont blame her for trying to stand up for herself when the ai drama happened. She'd had enough. And rightly so.

9. I fucking hate lists. Making one shouldnt be necessary but here we are on number fucking 9 of why you are all fucking hypocrites and not the peace loving PC army u think u are. Blogs who never fucking followed her called her names ffs. The comments made about SH and ai werent that deep but yall love to stir the pot.

10. You can disagree w/ me and carry on the tirade of hate. Just know not everyone agrees with what uv done to someone who only ever supported u all. Who is the real monster cos it aint the person who had to get pitchforks and torches and run the most misunderstood yet terrific writer we had out if here. I hope ur high horses are comfortable. I hope u dont fall off those pedestals uv all put yourselves on for being the protectors of jakes online safety. Idk wtf harm u thought could be done with a quite obviously synthetic voice just speaking smutty fiction?? Ive seen worse on tiktok. And if u think sending anons telling her to kill herself, that shes disgusting, sharing screenshots without context in order to fuel YOUR narrative of her is ok i seriously beg you to reconsider your life choices.

hey hey! first of, thank you so much!! i'll quickly walk you through my process!

Making gaming gifs - from PS5 (or PS4)

I'm not sure what platform you're on, I'll be showing you how I capture footage on my Playstation 5 (PS4 is kind of similar!) and how I transfer it to Photoshop on my PC - after that I'd refer you to one of the many gif tutorials on this website!

This first section is about capturing footage on PS5. If you're on a different platform, I'm not sure what the best way of recording is, on PC i usually use the built-in xbox game bar screen recorder (windows button + alt + R). I'll be telling you step-by-step what I do from gameplay to a finished gif, so whatever you already know you can just skip.

Firstly, take a look at the settings on your PS5. Specifically, the Captures & Broadcast settings. Mine are like this:

(Click to enlarge images!) If you have a 4k tv, you can also record games in 4k - I do not, I make do with 1080p, which is fine imo! (this specific method on PS4 will give you 720p footage, which is still ok but gifs won't be as crisp)

To record on your Playstation, use the share button:

On both PS4 and PS5 you can choose to save the last seconds/minutes as a video (depending on your settings), on PS5 you can also start a recording using this button. I usually press this right at the beginning of a cutscene, and then again when it ends, to perfectly fit a cutscene in one video file. After doing this, go to the Media Gallery on your home screen:

If you're not familiar with it, this where you will find all your clips and screenshots! At this point, make sure to have a USB drive with plenty of space, because that's what we're using to transfer the files to PC. You can also upload clips straight to youtube for example, but it does diminish the video quality quite a bit in my experience. Once you find the footage you want to transfer, click 'Select Multiple':

And then select all the clips/screenshots you want, and then press '...' and then 'Copy to USB Drive':

Then your PS5 will copy the selected files to your USB drive! This allows you to get your footage in the best possible quality.

As long as the game your record is running at 60fps, you should be getting 60fps clips as well. Once you insert the USB drive in your PC, you can start importing files into Photoshop using File -> Import -> Video Frames to Layers to import every frame as a layer. From here the process is the same as importing any other video file (TV, movie, etc.)

Then, select the part of the video you want to make a gif of by adjusting the sliders:

and press OK. For the smoothest gif, do not tick 'Limit To Every ... Frames', because that will make Photoshop skip frames.

After this, you can do all your coloring and such - plenty of tutorials on that on Tumblr and I'm also always urging people to try out the many options for themselves - but the last part I want to touch on for you is the framerates. After inserting this video file, the Frame Animation framerate is 0,02 seconds per frame:

Generally when you make a gif, you end up sharpening it using the Timeline and saving it. What I usually do is save the gif (File -> (Export ->) Save For Web), then open in again in Photoshop, and change the framerate there. The nicest looking framerate depends on the footage, and, of course your own taste. This is my gif right after sharpening and saving (this is 0,03s per frame):

This is a high framerate, which looks okay for this gif because there isn't a lot of movement. For 60fps footage like this, I recommend setting the framerate to 0,04s, so open the gif again and change it on every frame by pressing the option I highlighted below, and pressing 'Other':

And then set the frame delay to 0,04s. That's the setting I usually use, while for 30fps footage I set the delay to 0,05s. But, again, it might depend on the footage which looks best. This is the same gif with a 0,04s frame delay:

To illustrate the point of it depending on footage even more, I'll show you a gif with more movement with frame delays of 0,03s and 0,04s respectively, which hopefully shows you the difference quite clearly (I have to add to this that the speeds tend to look quite different on mobile and PC. 0,03s delay looks fine to me on PC, but way too fast on mobile):

That is basically it for my process. As for your specific problems, if you use this capture method and the same options in Photoshop, you should be getting a pretty smooth gif. I hope there is some info in here that helps, if you have any other questions I'd be happy to help, but I think the most important things are using high framerate footage, importing these into Photoshop as layers and saving them for web correctly! 💗

i hope whatever the valve deckard is is its Good and the same price as psvr2?? but i also dont care about new vr,, i only want valve deckard or new valve vr headset or whatever because it means they'll come out with a new game at the same time

half life alyx was *so* good and i dont think there's been a vr game to come close to how good it was and still is 2ish years later. i think half life 3 coming out with their new, not super expensive (~$500 please valve) headset would probably bend over and spank the other 5 billion standalone vr headsets coming out. half life 3 should *not* be only vr, fucking Obviously, but if it didnt have native vr support id be pretty upset because holy shit the end scene of hl:a ***you were HOLDING the fucking crowbar*** i need that for a 10-15 hour long campaign

valve,,, if yoy use tumblr,,, please.,.,.,.. youd make so much money hl3 wouldn't even have to come with the headset it could be $70 and youd be PRINTING money for the rest of time PLEASEEEE

also, it'd be really cool for a new valve game that's not a tech demo,,, i dont think hl:a was a tech demo for vr, but it.. kind of was? a really really good tech demo, but they probably wouldn't have made a spinoff half-life game if not for New Cool Technology. im pretty sure all of the recent valve games have been glorified tech demos. which i like them!! they're fun!!!! i adore hl:a and aperature desk job. and their vr game with the minigames is cute. the aperature game with the hand robots is cute, too. im probably missing one but all of them have been cute fun lil games.

hello. i just spent 10 minutes describing neosvr. i deleted all that because i realized, i want valve to buy neosvr and put it in steam. just, right in the client. the whole thing. share media with ur friends, have a home world u can do Whatever the Fuck you want with and custom avatars and whatever you Want. neosvr is in a weird spot and if valve just fucking swallowed them whole and rebranded it as a Steam Home thing id ascend into the 6th dimension. neosvr is so fucking cool.... it makes me very sad though because again its in a weird spot and im sure they'll figure it out but Eeeeee,,,

anyway as i was saying... neos but in steam .. u start ur Valve Deckard or whatever its called.. new shiny vr ... and you sign into your steam account and ur put into steamvr+neos. its some new home lobby, there's a desktop sitting somewhere that you can boot up and its just fucking. linux arm with kde. because that'd be insane. or u could set it up to stream your big beefy desktop (maybe a vr headset modeled sitting next to it u can physically put onto your head to turn on the streaming as long as ur pc is accessible on the network). but also you could go outside or maybe just open a menu and go into whatever public world and do social vr things and neosvr things. please. itd be so cool,,, all the deckard could run would be steam home 2.0 and game streaming but itd be So Cool.... kind of a tough sell to people without computers untill vr cloud streaming becomes viable but i think people with computers (already valve's main demographic lol) may consider it.

re: your ask from greyr4t about win10: as you said in your answer its free, just needs a key for 'activation.' ime activating win10 has been worth it. like you mentioned, it isnt strictly necessary, one can make do fine in a somewhat limited capacity with the watermark in the corner forever (unless your monitor is an OLED then have fun with 100% guaranteed screen burn in lmao. or unless always seeing it enrages you disproportionately. as in my case). but having windows activated is honestly just nice, it makes many things easier and is more sustainable in the long run... worth the extremely minor hassle as like a QoL thing imo. you also brought up that its possible to circumvent microsoft (and its brazenly insane asking prices 🤬) & buy cheap keys online from third parties. i wanted to talk about how i did shit, hopefully it helps the original asker directly or at least comes in handy to know

so i bought my (shady bootleg, yes, but perfectly functional for years now) win10 activation key for even cheaper than what Synthia listed as a price point- iirc, under 5 bucks USD. (might be higher now w inflation, but id be surprised if its much more than around 10.) if things still work how they used to, you can do this on ebay. technically ebays policies dont allow it, so the accounts selling these keys come and go frequently due to getting shut down by ebay after popping up. thus, dont necessarily be put off if the seller hasnt existed for long, as often thats just how it goes (or it did. hopefully this sort of thing is still going strong🤞); do trust happy reviews. now, there are a few TYPES of activation keys– priced slightly different, nothing big– that correspond to different editions of windows 10. so basically its home edition, pro edition, and "pro for workstations". might be worth finding a brief summary of each to determine which edition best meets your needs. (there are more editions beyond the main trio, look into those too if you want, but the tldr on em is theyre for like niche markets w/ highly specific use cases.) fwiw, i got pro & am happy with it. another thing, from personal experience: may or may not be obvious but you're gonna wanna save a screenshot of your key somewhere safe and accessible. additionally though, label the screenshot somehow so you know what it is later, and if youre a disorganized scatterbrain like i am then put that in multiple places you can reliably access so if/when youre having trouble tracking it down you know where else to look; it came in handy for me to have access to it in places both online (cloud storage like google drive or dropbox for example, or even just saving the email copy of the ebay mssg in the designated folder in your email for the ones containing info you wanna save) & off (physical note on paper, stored in the files on one or more personal devices, etc). theres a huge chance youll need it again in the future– like say if you want to upgrade certain hardware– and likely more than once. final advice: highly recommend looking into comprehensive ways of "defanging" and/or "lobotomizing" windows, as they say. i.e., a tip that gets circulated is doing the initial setup for windows w your pc in airplane mode / ethernet unplugged so you dont have to make a microsoft account so they cant create a profile on you to collect your data to sell off & target ads at you (which is obvi totally reversible later if you decide the benefits of having an account outweigh the drawbacks). shit like that, plus the loads of guides out there– many here on tumblr itself– on extensive fucking around in various settings to disable bloatware / preserve privacy / other useful stuff, that can get pretty granular. i think ive even seen Synthia herself reblog posts like that here a couple times, maybe? perhaps try checking relevant-seeming tags from the tagging system in her pinned, or do a blog search for the term 'windows' and see what all there is to find

hi anon ! thanks for writing all this up !! lots of great points here - hopefully they help you out @greyr4t ! the airplane mode one is real important too if you care about privacy (and the fact you can't choose to make a local account during installation unless you are disconnected from the internet is awful and yet another dark pattern-type tactic.

i'm glad my blog's been good for you <3 (though i do need to go through and make all the important stuff a bit easier to access at some point)

iirc there's some reblogs on general privacy stuff (probably under one of the REPO tags and like "net privacy" or similar) as well as my own firefox post, and maybe more will happen in the future when i get to them

idk if this Works i just havent seen live at all today, but also even before i did this i never had to snooze it - it just showed up and removed itself from my home bar randomly anyway, and was extremely infrequent on my dash besides , which is why im not 100 percent sure it did anything . im like 70 percent sure but also im usually wrong about things

anyway this is um . how to remove tumblr live (maybe . unclear . not promised)

u will need :

android device . have tumblr installed

back up anything and everything on ur device , esp stuff ud die over losing . and back it up again . nothing should break at all rly , but if it does , i warned u

install luckypatcher and follow all the directions and whatever . if u dont want to install apks like this or trust it at all , ur journey ends here . if smth on ur phone breaks - it didnt on mine and shouldnt - be prepared 2 take responsibility 4 that . (its like messing with control panel or CMD on a pc, if ur not sure what ur doing or dont know how to fix it if something breaks or arent prepared 2 just deal with it , then dont start in the first place . u should always keep a backup of ur data anyway tho tbh , modding or not . factory resetting fixes most issues )

gather ur will 2 take responsibility for whether this is a win or a loss

preparation complete

once ur done with that , heres where we get into murky territory because i was literally just fucking around . u should see a list of ur apps when alls said and done - search tumblr and tap it . i think what removed tumblr live was "apk with changed permissions and activities", but what i did was : apk with multi patch > check "remove ads" "support patch for inapp and lvl emulation" and "apk with changed permissions and activities" > rebuild the app .

on the next screen, uncheck "remove links" and "offline patch"

u can ignore this if u want , i wasnt able to like use this to trick tumblr into thinking i paid , but maybe u can idk

heres where the juicy shit is . i literally disabled anything that had "ad" in it, but i believe the meat of the tumblr live stuff is anything with "io.wondrous" or "live" in it . i also disabled a whole bunch of other stuff like the shops - only the links at the top of the settings menu are still there for me, but they dont go anywhere . idk how to disable ui elememts like that </3 figuring it out

heres all the stuff i disabled . no hiccups with the regular like-reblog-view-blog cycle , ofc the stuff disabled here doesnt work . tumblr butchered the quality of the long sc, just save it n look at it in ur gallery

anyway once uve disabled all that and whatever else looked fishy or whatever, "rebuild the app" . wait for it to finish .

choose uninstall and reinstall . old tumblr byebye

thats abt it . i did a whole bunch of weird tapping around idr but this should be what did it . if it removed live for u cool !! if it didnt im sosorry </3 jfjfjdjdj

No no i get you tho. Its 100% ok to be soft its just that i sometimes have a hard time going about it. Maybe its because i am not necessarily soft. I have grown to be quite outspoken in certain aspects and learned to advocate to what is right and what i believe in, so writing characters that are contrast to that is quite difficult for me ig
