My Peter B headcannons!

General HCs, however I will take requests for different HCs (only for Headcannons rn though 👀)

He's a reporter rather than a physicist in his universe.

He was probably more of a jock type, who knew more about sports. When he got bitten he got more active, but never played any team sports because he was still scared of his bullies.

He had asthma before he was bitten.

He loves the color blue, but specifically navy blue.

Loves classic rock, but like 70s sort of classic rock, so definitely more of a Kinks, Rolling Stones, Queen sorta fan.

In his Universe, Harry was his Green Goblin.

He's very emotional.

He is a HUGE horror movie buff.

Is actually a very big bookworm, especially mystery books. Growing up he was a big Sherlock Holmes fan.

His parents were actually alive, but they couldn't take care of him, and so they sent him to live with his Aunt and uncle when he was 5.

He's actually from Nebraska.

He's not a fan of his birthday, so he never makes a big deal about it.

Also gets butthurt when nobody makes a big deal about it.

His universes Gwen was actually a babysitter he had a fat crush on when he was 9. She was 8 years older than him.

He likes funny women, it makes his stomach flip whenever a spunky woman can joke with him.

More of a grease monkey than a lab rat, however he somehow is and actual whizz when it comes to many subjects. Except for Arts of any sort. He actually is not creative at all.

Well I haven’t watched sp all the way through for about a decade now, so I thought it was time

Sometimes I wonder how accurate the fandom is when it comes to how we interpret the characters. Like, why is Stan a football star so often in fanfic and why’s Kyle always the smart one? So I thought I’d rewatch the show and make notes along the way to see where the source of all these interpretations is. I also wanted to see if I could get some fun info to analyze, but season 1 is pretty sparse in that regard so there’s not too much of that in this post, but I’ll make a post for all the other seasons too as I watch them

In summary, it’s established in season 1 already that Stan’s a star quarterback and an animal lover, Kyle’s an A+ student, and Kenny is poor and knows a lot about sex and doesn’t have many qualms about doing crazy shit. Cartman is a bit weird since he’s mostly just a naive brat in this season, but he and Kyle have a mildly antagonistic friendship already

I have all my notes under this cut. They include a bunch of small details and other observations. I also listed every Kenny death just because

Cartman doesn’t make fun of Kyle for being Jewish much at all in this season even though the Christmas episode is all about Kyle not celebrating

Clyde and Token appear very early on and Clyde has always been in the classroom (along with Bebe, Red, Kevin Stoley, Wendy, and Pip and uhh DogPoo too I think). Craig appears later in the season and Tweek’s not in season 1 at all, so Craig’s gang isn’t really a thing yet

And here’s a list of the ways Kenny died in this season. He dies in every episode except episode 9, and he dies twice in episodes 2 and 3. Altogether he dies 14 times

S01E02 Killed in a play by a falling teepee, then a second time shot by Garrison which sends him in the air and he gets impaled on a flagpole on the way down

If you read all that, first of all hello. I’m not new to the fandom even though this is the first thing I’ve posted on this tumblr blog. I’ve been writing a fanfic called Caffetamine though so I’m not a complete non-entity. Anyway, I’ll watch season 2 soon and post my notes on that too probably.

1x07 Discussion Questions

My b! My b! I usually try to do these when the episode is fresh but instead I went to sleep, I am at peace with my priorities, tbh. As always, many thanks to @pynkhues​ for her time and energy putting these together and shout out to @foxmagpie​ for the assist. 

1. What was your favourite scene of the episode? Tell us why!

Lot of contenders, tbh. I really love the scene with Mary Pat when she puts together the (extremely transparent) bullshit that is the whole secret shopper scheme (I mean come on y’all, did you even try????), I love Ruby and Stan’s date (high five to Stan for coming through with my parks & rec reference, it’s nice to know there is one (1) man I can count on). The Annie and Greg bit is REALLY SWEET LEAVE ME ALONE. The god tier brio content, specifically The Grab Heard Round The World My Living Room and the Give Me A Name bit. Some classic Rio nonsense (do you think if we asked him to point to an egg he’d point to an apple?) Tyler and his “reeeeeeally fill out the surveys?” was, obvs, the best moment on the entire show. Anyway, one of those for sure.

2. Was there any scene that missed the mark for you? And if so, how?

The Boomer setting up Annie stuff always falls flat to me and idk exactly why? Like, individual pieces of it are great, Mae does EXCELLENT work post police station and when getting arrested in the first place but ultimately I find it fairly forgettable in the grand scheme of things.

3. Let’s talk about the secret shopper scheme! What do you think were the strengths of it? The flaws? Do you think it had longterm potential? Or was it always going to crash and burn?

I said this during the rewatch but I straight up blocked out the fact that all of the shoppers are hitting the same store on the same day (waving around upwards of $5k in cash???? no less???????) because my brain cannot comprehend how three women we’re supposed to believe are reasonably intelligent didn’t realize this was the stupidest, most transparently obvious, most short-sighted scheme in the entire world. 

I struggled with the sustainability of it a bit when I thought they were spreading their efforts around (they roped in A Lot of people, there are only so many Costcos in the Detroit metro area and waving around that much cash and then returning it all, again for cash, is uh, already p memorable) but I could deal with it when I thought they were spreading it around. Short-sighted, immediate solutions are a cornerstone of Beth’s brand, after all, but all of them at the same store at the same day???? Too much. I cannot. 

4. The girls spent their money in very different ways! Ruby on romancing Stan, Annie on clothes for her son, and Beth on jewellery for herself. What do you think this tells us about them and their arcs? Particularly coming off the back of Ruby’s conflict with Stan, Ben’s issues at school with clothes, and Beth leaving Rio her pearls?

Love these connects. The show’s got a pretty clearly defined and consistent visual/character motifs (this may or may not be the word I’m looking for, shut up) when it comes to depicting the girls priorities and motivations. You also see it reflected and reinforced with their repeated coping mechanisms throughout the show. Whenever bad stuff happens, Ruby goes home to Stan, Annie crawls into bed with Ben and we usually close with Beth either alone (ouch david) or connecting with Rio in some way (exhibit a: the aforementioned pearls). 

In all of the instances it comes back to the heart of their priorities:

Stan is Ruby’s number one, (which isn’t to say her kids aren’t a part of that, I think Stan is both himself in this sense while also representing her whole Hill family unit—TV is all about visual shorthand kids—but also it serves to illustrate that Ruby has something Beth and Annie do not: a true partner). 

Ben is at the root of everything Annie does, she makes choices based on not only his. well-being, but how he sees her and he has the most influence over how she sees herself and what actions she takes as a result of that.

Beth, on the other hand, is at a contrasting point. She’s done the devoted partner and mother thing (lowkey implied by the little bits and pieces we get of her and Annie’s childhoods to some degree more or less for her entire life) and is now putting herself first, her needs, her wants. Which isn’t to say she doesn’t give a fuck about her family, she waits until she’s got a fat stack of cash and they’re taken care of before splurging on a thing, but as a symbol I think the necklace pretty clearly illuminates that for whatever Beth tells herself, she’s building an empire for herself, bc she wants it, needing it is secondary.

5. Eddie’s arrest is arguably what sets us on a collision course with the finale! Do you think Eddie was loyal to Rio until the end? How much do you think he told Turner? And what sort of loyalty do you think Rio inspires in his boys? And why doesn’t it translate with the girls?

OF COURSE EDDIE WAS LOYAL TO THE END HE HAS CLEARLY DEMONSTRATED HE HAS SOME KIND OF CODE OF HONOR HOW DARE YOU SLANDER MY BOY LIKE THAT.

Tbh idk how to answer the loyalty question without more information from canon because the gang and how they operate, how they all came together, etc is pretty well shrouded in not-central-narrative-focus, though I think it’s been implied somewhat heavily that what’s going on with the girls is not standard operating procedure.

My personal headcanon for Eddie is tied up in my personal backstory for Rio and Mick that I started for my (lmao first) Mick POV fic. I gave Rio and Mick a friends since we were kids backstory and decided Eddie was a kid in their neighborhood, slightly younger then them, and always looked up to them/followed them around/thought they were cool. He ultimately got involved in crime because they did and they looked out for him and brought him up with them (which, you know, makes how it all turns out that much more tragic). Obvs, this is all just me and my tendency to imprint on random side characters and give them backstories. Let me live.

6. This episode introduces us to Mary Pat, who’s probably one of this show’s most complicated antagonists! What do you think of her generally? And could you have predicted her arc with Boomer and Turner?

I love her and I’m done lying to myself about it.

LISTEN, first off, Allison Tolman is great. Her line delivery is fantastic, she has a knack for subtly adding SO MUCH to every scene she’s in and uses her face and inflection and pauses exquisitely. Top notch comedic timing. Truly a gem.

Second, on a character level, the lady is in a bad spot and the girls basically gift-wrapped the circumstances and handed them to her like here is a present!!!!!!!!!!!! What was a struggling girl to do besides accept what was offered to her??????!!!!!!???

7. This episode features a very pivotal scene in terms of the Beth, Ruby and Annie dynamic. What starts as tension between Annie and Beth quickly pivots when Ruby criticises Beth and Annie leaps to her sister’s defence. What do you think this tells us about the dynamic between the girls as pairs and as a trio?

I am so!!!! curious!!!!!!! about the backstory that exists in the writers’ heads for Ruby and Annie (all three of them, really, but the bff and little sister having an independent friendship is of particular interest to me bc it isn’t something you, or I guess I, run into a lot) and how much of it was defined at this point vs how much it’s evolved/fluctuated as the show goes on. This fight pretty clearly illuminated that when it really comes down to it, it’s Beth and Annie vs Ruby which a) breaks my heart and b) isn’t totally a dynamic I think the show ultimately stuck with? Or maybe intentionally fluctuates? Idk this is a half-baked thought. Ask again later. 

8. Greg is the one who kisses Annie! Who do you think left who in that relationship, and/or what were the biggest issues in that relationship?

I feel like there’s pretty much no way Annie wasn’t the one that called things off with Greg. Not just because of how it plays out this time but because he’s got a kind of persistent yet also go with the flow attitude that makes me think he would absorb a lot in the name of making it work whereas Annie seems to have a pretty established history of cutting her losses and bailing when she hits her limit. Based on how fond they are of each other and how much affection they clearly still hold, I tend to assume they just grew apart as they grew up which makes it almost more complicated and tragic because it leaves all of the good stuff and just mixes it with the knowledge that it wasn’t enough. 

9. What did you think of Ruby’s sauce story? And what do you think it meant as a turning point for her arc?

I HATE THIS STORY SO MUCH USED BAND AIDS ARE GROSS ENOUGH ON THEIR OWN WITHOUT MIXING IN FOOD SERVICE AND MONTHS, MONTHS, OF MARINATION. I REFUSE TO TALK ABOUT IT. GET OUT OF MY HOUSE.

10. Knowing that Beth, Ruby and Annie’s system of paying Mary Pat off doesn’t work, do you think there was a way they could’ve handled her on their own that would’ve worked? Or do you think Rio’s intimidation (and potential murder) tactic was the only way out?

Idk maybe I’m just cynical, but I take trust no bitch to heart, they pretty well screwed themselves into a corner by being idiots.

Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed? I keep my closet door open all the time, just because it's one of those barn style doors and I like the way it looks open.

Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel? If I like the product I will, but otherwise no. Most of the time I'll take the conditioner because, ya know, you can only go so wrong with conditioner. Because I dye my hair black and I've got very wavy and coarse hair, I am extremely careful with the shampoos I use on my hair. Matter of fact, I can't tell you the last time I actually used shampoo. I cowash.

Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out? I sleep with the sheets out. I can't deal with tucked in sheets when I'm trying to get comfy. It produces a similar feeling of entrapment like trying to sleep with socks on does for me. Ew.

Have you ever stolen a street sign before? Nope and I have never had the urge to do that.

Do you like to use post-it notes? If I am in a position in which using post-it notes makes sense then I will use them, yes.

Do you cut out coupons but then never use them? No but I will get coupons in the mail, keep ones I intend on using, and then forget to use them, so kinda the same thing.

Would you rather be attacked by a big bear or a swarm of a bees? No. Just no. Obviously a bear attack is likely to end in death or at least serious injury like dismemberment, but then on the other hand it would suck to be stung by a swarm of bees and you never know, I could be allergic, so I'm just gonna stick with my original answer - no. Just no.

Do you have freckles? Yeah, especially on my shoulders and my back. I will also get some on my face when I'm in the direct sun for a while and I had a lot on my face as a kid.

Do you always smile for pictures? I smile for pictures most of the time, yes.

What is your biggest pet peeve? I don't know. Just general rudeness, really. This is one of those questions where I don't have the answer right now or off the top of my head, but ask me when I'm annoying and I can give you multiple things, lol. Oh, one thing I really hate is when someone tries to continue a conversation with you when it's very clear that you don't want to talk. I don't want anyone to take it personally. Sometimes I just don't feel like talking.

Do you ever count your steps when you walk? I mean I have before, yeah.

Have you ever peed in the woods? Yes, I have.

What about pooped in the woods? I don't believe so.

What do you drink with dinner? I'm pretty much always drinking a diet soda.

What do you dip a chicken nugget in? I'll usually dip a nugget in ranch or ketchup, and I'll occasionally get sweet and sour sauce at McDonald's.

What is your favorite food? I love chinese food, and then cheese fries with ranch.

Last person you kissed/kissed you? My boyfriend and I kissed at the gas station after work about an hour ago.

Ran out of gas? Almost, and it was one of the scariest times of my life, no joke. It was my first time making the long drive back home by myself, which mind you is like a 10 hour drive, and I was in the middle of the West Virginia mountains with no cell phone service and there wasn't a gas station for miles and my gas light was on and I wasn't sure how long it had been on. Best thing to eat for breakfast? Well, my favorite breakfast of all time is from this little cafe here and it's a platter with French toast with cheesecake filling on top, bacon, eggs and hashbrowns. However, I also love the Sunrise Sampler from Cracker Barrel and a Hardee's chicken biscuit with hashbrowns, lol. I just love breakfast, tbh.

What is your usual bedtime? I go to bed anywhere from 3 to 6 AM. I work 2nd shift.

Are you stubborn? I can be very stubborn when the subject matter is something I feel strongly about or if I am very aggravated, yes. Otherwise, I'd say I'm pretty level-headed.

Who is better...Leno or Letterman? I don't have a preference because I don't follow either of them.

Ever watch soap operas? My great grandma used to always have Days of our Lives playing at her house when she used to babysit my sister and me, so I have some soap opera experience there, yeah. For a little while I was also a fan of Desperate Housewives and Tyler Perry's The Haves and the Have Nots.

Afraid of heights? I say I am, but it's not enough to stop me from things like flying or amusement rides.

1. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them? Oh my god SO MANY! I have roughly 50 works in progress, and so many more ideas running through my head - I just haven't had the energy or the time lately to actually work on them. One that keeps coming back to me is Sam and Danny chilling in bed on a lazy Saturday, after a sleepover, and Sam announces that if they had sex, it would be the best either of them ever experienced. They debate for a while, and of course end up getting it on... it'll happen someday.

4. Describe your comfort zone—a typical you-fic. There's a lot of fluff and heartfeltwords; I try to keep it lighthearted too, though, and throw in what I hope is some funny stuff; smut of course, or at least some kissing; metaphors and figurative language galore. I feel like I'm still very much trying to find my voice and my style, so I think my fics differ a lot in their styles, but there are things that I generally like.

5. Share one of your strengths. Hmm, I was going to say that I know how grammar works (that feels rude but- ) actually I'm going to say that I always turn out things that I really enjoy. That may be more of a personal strength - i.e. it only matter to me - but if I post something I am satisfied (enough) with it. I like my work! I write what I want, even with requests, and I put my all into my writing because I want it to be such good quality that it would make me squeal if I came across it.

7. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

"Dude, that's disgusting."

Danny just smiled at Josh, showing off a rather gross mouthful of mangled food, and kept eating his pineapple pizza.

"Seriously, pineapple doesn't belong on pizza. Can't you just eat regular toppings like the rest of us?"

Danny shook his head and swallowed. "Nuh-uh, I can't. I'm not like the rest of you."

"Hmm, you know, you're right: you're not like the rest of us. It's way hotter in the Wagner corner." Josh looked at him coyly, licking BBQ sauce from his chicken wings off of his fingertips.

Danny froze and Josh laughed, using a napkin to scrub away the rest of the sauce and continuing to messily eat his 'regular' pizza. Danny shook his head, closing the lid of his box to save the rest for later.

Idk if anyone other than @satans-helper would be interested in Josh and Danny (like, together, or at least flirting) but.... I thought this was good. It was fun to write - still not anywhere near done, though - and I think it captures them pretty well. I think dialogue is good when the characters speak for themselves, literally, without having to rely completely on prose to give it meaning.

8. Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

"The bass pumped through Sam in the same rhythm as his cannabis-speckled blood, sludgey warmth crawling in his veins as he took a second hit of the blunt being passed around. Hidden away from the eyes of management constantly trying to tighten the reins, as if they weren't rock stars in - or perhaps even before - their prime, he let the dark corner he and a few new acquaintances occupied be his cover from an eventual scolding."

Let this be a little teaser for the Collab Zara and I are doing (!!!) lol. I think it's some of my best writing; lyrical but not too long as I'm learning how to do it right, offering information with every little part, setting the scene in a concise but not info-dump way, some bit of irony and humor.

9. Which fic has been the hardest to write? Ohhh man, well there have definitely been MANY that I've gotten stuck on for months, if not over a year -- but, the finished fic that was hardest was probably "Forever", to be totally honest. I think it turned t out very well, but I revised over and over and over, and scrapped a very large portion of it. I know what I wanted, but it wasn't coming for a very long time.

10. Which fic has been the easiest to write? "Blood Brothers". It just flowed so well, I sat and types furiously in my phone for a good 3 hours without stopping, and it was born.

13. What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across? There's quite a few pieces that I always think of: write what you want to read, adjectives and adverbs slow the pace (learned this recently and it's very handy), sometimes straight-forward is best, don't be afraid to scrap things and start over.

15. If you could choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose? Oh man, that's a hard choice. I think that "Eyes of Juniper" (metallica fic, not finished 😔) would actually be the best choice, because it's funny, I would love to see the guys in the 80s, and, while it deals with bodies/nudity/sexuality it wouldn't be a straight up porn film lol.

17. Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order? A mix of both, I think it just depends on how my ideas are flowing. If I'm really on a roll and know I won't be interrupted, then I'll just write it chronologically. But, if I have a small idea, or I know how I want to end but dont know how to begin, then I'll just start writing something. I'm always afraid I'll forget what I want if I don't write it down, so I work on what I'm able to and fill in the rest later.

20. Describe your perfect writing conditions. Well, I usually end up doing the most of my writing hunched over sitting on me bed in the dark and furiously typing on my phone lmao. I would love to get a laptop and a dedicated space, but it's just not gonna happen rn. So, I'll go with dark, undisturbed, comfortable

23. If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why? there are quite a few that I can look back at and be like noooo what was I doing. I think, though, one that could be really really amazing if revised would be "Black Dog", a guns n roses fic I wrote. It was good, but one of my firsts. My style has improved, and I think I could just make it a lot better, and the dialogue at the end could be a lot more clear and realistic sounding

29. If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose? Oh mannnn there are so many fics that have made me want to somehow write/find more, I'll go with "Angel of Apple Valley" (pairing: Duzzy fandom: gnr, on rockfic, I cant find it rn though sorry). It was so amazing and I still think about it. I don't think I could do anywhere near justice to the original, so of course I wouldnt actually, but I just really want more

38. Talk about a review that made your day. Ohhh ok pretty much every review makes me suoer hapoy, but the lovely helena_s_renn left me a comment on Ch. 4 of "Skin on Skin, Hearts Laid Bare" and it nearly made me cry

"Girl, I think you've discovered your voice. This has an intensity beyond any of your other work that I've read thus far (not saying the previous isn't good - it is!!). I was glued to my phone by the eyes, didn't want it to end, and yet it did in what seemed like 5 seconds. Danny's acceptance of Sam's physical needs without asking anything more of him than "just sleep with me" is love. On that subject, I think you've thrown more words at the wellspring of Sanny Love from Sam's perspective than one would have thought possible, and they all ring true."

Like, holy shit thanks?!?! Lol. But really, I've been seriously trying to find my style, and to hear this from one of the writers I respect the most was huge. I felt like a favorite teacher was giving me a hug and telling me i did good!!!

I tried to ignore this last night but, typical of me being late to everything, I’m starting to realize that it actually is kind of bothering me.

After my mom got home from work, she was about to tell me something about her coworker but interrupted herself by asking me, “Why does everyone call the person they’re dating their ‘partner’? Why can’t I call the person I’m dating ‘my boyfriend’ anymore?” and I had to pause and give her an unimpressed look because I was thinking about how, even recently, she claimed to follow a bunch of activists on Instagram and I thought (and wanted to say but didn’t want to cause a huge argument), ‘You say you follow all these activists on IG but you don’t know why it’s important that people call their significant other(s) their “partner”?’ but then I finally explained it to her and she actually never even finished telling me her story because I was trying to cook for us and she got fed up with me being distracted by cooking and lamenting over the mess that my cooking attempt had made...that actually she interfered with that caused the mess AHHHHHH. NOTE TO SELF: STOP ASKING FOR HELP WITH STUPID SHIT THAT YOU KNOW HOW TO DO, WHAT THE FUCK, OH MY GOD. I’m literally, like. Why. Why am I like that. I can’t ask for help with really, really big and significant stuff but I can ask for help about making spaghetti sauce. Not that I’ve done it more than once but STILL I KNEW WHAT TO DO BUT I ASKED FOR GUIDANCE ANYWAY, THAT’S SO STUPID OF ME OH MY GOD. It’s because my self-esteem is that of a bruised apple. Gah.

But anyway, what really bothers me is that she was so defensive about feeling pressured to use the term “partner” that she said “I’m never going to be with a woman!” as though that was the only thing that hypothetically necessitated the referential term “partner.” And I could be wrong, especially because I’ve only sort of identified as bi since 2018 and besides on here, I really haven’t “come out” yet, it just made me feel like...so is that what homophobia feels like? Especially when it comes from your family?

When I came out to my mom (in 2018), she was just like “Um, okay...good for you? It doesn’t matter to me/affect my acceptance or love for you” but maybe, even if you’re accepted and loved even on behalf of your sexuality, there are still other/little things that can contend with that because heterosexuality/heteronormativity is still the norm and it’s ESPECIALLY still the norm for my mom.

This also shows me that WOW, YEAH, THIS is exactly why I don’t intend to come out to like anyone in my family. Because my family’s Southern and racist and my grandmother is literally homophobic and I got in an argument with my oldest aunt about eating at Ch*ck-f*l-A with my oldest cousin, thus contributing to the restaurant’s literally homophobic agenda, the last time I saw her last Novemeber. At this point it’s why I don’t even really care if they care about me anymore or not. I just know, if they really knew me or listened to me, they wouldn’t support me. I mean, MAYBE unless I was actually dating someone and it seemed relevant I would tell them, though not with the expectation that they would support or accept me. But especially as long as it’s not relevant, nope to the fuck way! Will not be doing that! Tbh I probably wouldn’t even tell my oldest cousins (who are 8+ years younger than me! 🙃) which sucks because if anyone’s gonna be progressive and accepting, it’s the younger generation, right? But it’s overwhelmingly obvious to me how much privilege these girls have and were raised with. Even though I don’t know them, like, at all anymore (not like when they were younger), I still just don’t think they would be able to even voluntarily peek through their privilege to consider perspectives outside what shaped theirs. It hurts me to give up so easily on them, but yeah. I know what my family is like. I don’t need more evidence. Although idk maybe I could tell my youngest aunt since she had a gay best friend who I think she’d been friends with since high school/college or even earlier?. But she seems different now that she has kids. She doesn’t seem as radical as she used to be anymore, so yeah, I’m not convinced it’d be a good experience to tell her, either.

PRESENTING. RANDOM DEEP DIVE WITH INDIGO-MUN AT 2AM ;

FIRST NAME Good fucking question… It’s (sort-of) currently Dylann! I was Kieran before that, though; it’s still used as one of my first names and I’m not used to Dylann quite yet bc I’ve just started using it. 

Indigo is one of my middle names though, and I’ve used it as an online handle elsewhere forever so I use it here now!  [ Fun etymology facts: Dylan(n) is a mythology name generally meaning “born of the wave” (aspiring diver & a water witch at heart). Kieran means “little dark one” bc of my love for horror, && I chose Indigo bc as a kid to be it was neither boy (blue) or purple (girl) and was both and neither as well as my absolute favorite color as this vibrant ass mystical color. ]

STRANGE FACT ABOUT YOURSELF hmmmmm…. I’m a horror lover at heart, so as a child (I wanna say 12), I was walking through an antique store (I have a few cool finds, I considered putting my other one as the fact tbh) and I turned the corner and I saw these two dolls staring back at me at the foot of the stairs of this antique building. my blood froze, and i felt my stomach drop. i got actual, physical goosebumps stumbling across these two creepy dolls staring back at me in the corner, and i couldn’t leave the store without them. perhaps the little painted porcelain boy would be somewhat spooky by himself if it wasn’t for the terrifying lidded gaze of the porcelain girl with the hairline fractures and slightly open lips. i cant look at her. i dont really find dolls scary, I like to find the spookier ones ones, and she makes me paranoid as hell. i keep her face covered and her up in my closet except for when i bring her out to show her off proudly as the spookiest thing I have but……. i dont really collect dolls anymore.  even thinking about her brings a fearful tear to my eye.  i don’t like to think about her for very long, but that’s why I’m so fucking proud to own her. ( YES — I’m THAT white person in the horror film )

FAVORITE BOOK White Fang by Jack London. Have I actually ever finished it? No. Do I still own a copy I’ve had since childhood thru multiple dogs eating it, taking it to and from school, and highlighting and circling all the best parts of chapter one ever since I was a kid and it was too hard of a book for me to read? You bet your ass. If I ever need inspiration I just reread chapter 1. Although one of my other favorites was Broken Monsters by Lauren Beukes. But White Fang is like, a weirdly personal text. We stan London’s writing in this household.

Trio of Towns Recipe Problems? PART 1

Okay, so, I got beef with Trio of Town’s recipe section. And it’s not just the lack of beef. XD;;

Though real quick, why DON’T we have the option to make our animals into meat? Look I know they’re cute and we love them, and you shouldn’t HAVE to, but there’s really no good logical reason why not. The game allows you to make fish dishes after all? Are fish not living creatures? Plus the game kills off your animals due to old age anyways, and it allows you to sell your animals at any time. So why not have a butcher in town? Again, no one has to use it if they don’t want. But for those who do, as long as nothing gross is shown, why not?

Anyways, besides the chicken and beef recipes I’m missing out on, here’s a few other issues I’ve noticed. I've tried my best not to comment on recipes I just don’t think sound good and stick to what I really believe is incorrect.

SALADS

Potato Salad - This is labeled as a Westown Recipe. However, I think this version of Potato Salad is one that Japanese/Chinese/Eastern people in general are more familiar with. This recipe calls for “Potato, cucumber, carrot and mayonnaise”, with the toppings being either “beans, pepper or radish”. Where I’m from, however, potato salad’s ingredient list is “potato, cucumber-pickles, eggs, and mayo”, with topping picks being “Salt/Pepper, Onions or Olives”. Perhaps there could be two potato salad recipes in the future, one from Tsuyukusa and one from Westown? Sharing and/or quarreling over different versions of recipes could actually be a plot point for future games, too. 

Mashed Potatoes - Recipe is fine but needs more topping picks. Should add butter and cheese. Also maybe sour cream as a new topping/craft? Sour cream isn’t available in TOT but maybe you could make it in a future game? Milk in the fermenter logically sounds like it would make sour cream, right?

Milk Salad - Okay I PROMISE I won’t comment on recipes I just find weird for the most part but... Do people really do this??? Just, pour milk on vegetables like cereal...? XD I have to ask, which specific vegetable is usually used with this recipe? I just cannot fathom which veggie tastes good with milk...?

Coleslaw - Again, must be a different version of the recipe. Ingredient list here is “cabbage, radish, apple, honey, yogurt” with topping picks as “salt/pepper and mayo”. Where I’m from coleslaw is “Cabbage (a red and green cabbage variety would be nice too), carrots, yogurt/mayonnaise and lemon juice”, with the topping picks being “Salt/pepper, onions or celery”. Perhaps one recipe could be “Sweet Coleslaw” and the other one “Savory Coleslaw”?

Fruit Salad - I could perhaps be wrong about this one, but cabbage and spice seem like odd toppings for this sweet fruit salad...? Were these toppings mislabeled, or do people really add these toppings to fruit salad? I would say better toppings would be either honey or other types of extra fruit, like grapes, banana, strawberry or kiwi. OR, perhaps there could be different versions -- A Westown Fruit Salad, a Tsuyukusa Fruit Salad, and a Lulukoko Fruit Salad, each with signature fruits from their respective towns.

SOUPS

Spaghetti Soup - Again, maybe this is a different version of the recipe from another culture. I personally have never had spaghetti soup, I just eat spaghetti, but it sounded like it probably shouldn’t have pumpkin in it...? I looked up the recipe for Spaghetti Soup and it seems like most people have it as it sounds, as a soup version of tomato sauce spaghetti. Perhaps there could be a “Vegetarian” spaghetti soup option from Tsuyukusa with the pumpkin, and one that more closely resembles what most of us recognize as spaghetti from Westown?

Bouillon Soup -- Nothing wrong with this recipe per se, but if there were meat options in the future there could be a vegetarian version of bouillon and a meat one, with salt/pepper as toppings to make it better.

Tom Yum Goong - I believe this recipe should also include lemon/lime and possibly chilis and maybe some herbs? Adding lemongrass as a herb you can forage would make this really authentic.

Minestrone - This isn’t TOO big a bone to pick, it’s pretty similar, but maybe add flour as a topping since minestrone often has noodles in it too, and pepper.

Fish Chowder/Clam Chowder - If celery was a veggie you could grow in future games, these and a few other recipes could use some celery.

GRILLED/FRIED

Vegetable Stir Fry - Really why not just let people add whatever kind of veggies they like to this one, there’s so many ways people like to mix and fry veggies? But I’m thinking it should also call for carrot or broccoli at least, and maybe have beans, pepper or soy sauce as a topping pick too? OR, maybe like the Fruit Salad, there could be a different signature vegetable stir fry recipe for each town? The Tsuyukusa Stir Fry, the Westown Stir Fry, and the Lulukoko Stir Fry!

Pizza - A really lovely simple pizza recipe we got here, but again along with the veggie stir fry, there could be more options. If meat were options that could be it’s own thing. But even just going with the veggie toppings we have in the current game, you could also add spinach, bell pepper, or pineapple as extra toppings. Maybe have an extra Veggie Pizza and Fruit Pizza recipe in addition to the Classic Cheese Pizza, and Meat Pizza if that was a future option?

Omelet/Mini Omelet - Cheese as a topping? OMELET DU FROMAGE PLZ...

Baked Beans - Seems like a Tsuyukusa recipe? A Westown recipe for ‘Baked beans’ would call for beans, tomato/ketchup, sugar/honey, maybe garlic or mustard if those were options in future games, and if meat were also an option, ham or bacon for sure. 

French Fries - If we can make tomatoes into ketchup later, well, duh.

Roasted Corn - Butter, Mayonnaise and maybe chili/spice as toppings.

POT DISHES

Cabbage Rolls/Stuffed Tomatoes - These bother me a little. WHAT is rolled into the cabbage? WHAT is stuffed into the tomatoes? We have NO IDEA. Please tell us! XD I’m thinking other veggies/mushrooms/rice/cheese makes most sense, maybe meat. Also there should maybe be a recipe for Stuffed Bell Peppers and/or Stuffed Mushrooms too?

Deep-FRIED Monkfish/Deep-FRIED Catfish/FRIED Shrimp/FRIED Tofu/FRIED Tofu Fritter/Deep-FRIED Fish Cakes - G...Guys... GUYS... “FRIED” WAS LITERALLY RIGHT IN THE NAME OF THE DISHES, COME OOOON... XD;;

Boiled Corn - Salt/Pepper and Butter as toppings.

Ahi Poke SALAD - Again... SALAD...? IDK, is it a pot dish despite the name...?

RICE DISHES

There��s actually nothing I can notice wrong with the rice section, seems pretty solid. Good job on this part, guys. Maybe just add a few extra curry-rice recipes?

NOODLES/BREAD

Bread - Mugwort and Sugar seem slightly odd for toppings? Maybe make a few new breads, like an Herb Bread so you can use mint/mugwort/whatever to make it fancier, and the sugar could go in a Sweet Bread recipe along with maybe honey/maple. For plain Bread, salt or butter as a topping makes more sense.

Corn Bread - Still needs milk and egg to the corn meal to make it corn bread? With butter or honey/maple as toppings? Corn meal alone is just... corn meal...

Vegetable Bread - If vegetables are stuffed into the bread instead of mixed into the batter as depicted in the picture, doesn’t that make it a sandwich? Maybe separate the Noodles and Bread section have a new sandwich section added to the Bread category if meat is added in a future game? Sandwiches could add several new recipe combinations.

Fruit Bread - There’s really quite a few different fruit bread recipes and I feel the game could expand this just a little/add a few varied pictures. Maybe an Apple-Cinnamon Bread, a Raisin Bread (this is already in the game but it’s in with the noodles, not the bread?) and a Berry Bread.

Crackers - Should also be with the breads and not the noodles. Maybe also an extra recipe for fancier Herb Crackers.

Spaghetti - Maybe I haven’t unlocked it yet? There’s a ‘Spaghetti Soup’ and a ‘Spaghetti Aglio e Olio”, which is made with chilis, but...? Is it unlocked later in the game or is there just no regular Spaghetti recipe...? *confused* ^^;

Summary:

Ethanol is the intoxicating part of alcohol and its molecules are so small that they can actually pass into the gaps between brain cells. There it can interfere with the neurotransmitters that enable all the brain’s activities. If you drink fast, alcohol will start to flood the brain. Alcohol affects parts of the brain responsible for self-control. And that is why Donatello did all this dumb shit to himself.

A/N: Just something fun I made for the hell of it. There may be other pairings in this but Idk yet.

Chapter 1: Salt and Lime

“Pussy.” Mikey huffed at Casey as the human chugged down his cup of beer. Casey stuck out his middle finger as he drank.

“I’d say sensible,” Donnie chimed in, “the dare said to ‘drink a concoction of whatever the opponent makes using whatever they can find in the kitchen.’”

“Yeah so?” The other’s looked at him dumbfounded. Flashes of Mikey’s bizarre “food” concoctions from when he was a young chief, and them too worried to crush his dreams, flash in their minds.

Taking turns they began to reminisce of his old creations. The ‘Squid Oatmeal Pizza.’ that Raph still swears he saw an eye on. But, as Donnie pointed out at the time, “It could be a raisin. You know, from the the...oatmeal...part?” at least that's what the boys keep telling themselves. They ate the entire pizza that night.

And who could forget the ‘Apple Pizza Pie Suprise’ with ‘All the wonders of both pies together with a twist!’ Poor April, who had not yet tried his creations and was too late to hear the turtle’s warnings, found the twist quickly after chewing on the bite only once. The brother’s had watched helplessly as their best friend’s soul left her body to the depths of hell. The pizza part of this creation was a classic Mikey order that she has seen only once; double anchovies, roasted garlic, chocolate, cappuccino pizza. The only thing that had stopped her from spitting it out before Mikey had walked away was the shock of the taste, it had paralyzed her. All she could do was open her mouth to let the food fall onto her plate and push it directly into the trash next to her. None of the brothers could blame her. She remembers her bite having a certain pop to it that she tried many years to forget.

‘Asian cowboy fusion calzone dude!’ Is what had gotten Karai. By this point, Mikey was a better cook, he would make odd foods for himself all the time still but no one had told Karai. She took a small bite that Mikey offered her but immediately spit it out, much to the turtle’s amusement as he was laughing. She found out later that to Mikey “cowboy” meant beans and s’mores and “Asian” meant teriyaki sauce, ginger, and shrimp. Karai learned an important lesson that day, never trust Mikey’s original cooking.

“And that was all him being nice and trying to cook.” Casey added pouring himself another cup of beer, “This would be him making something bad for my dare.” Everyone shuttered thinking about the horrors that could have been. Except for one bubbly laugh.

“Yeah, you’re right dude.” Mikey took a drink from his cup, “I get creative when I’m drunk so I probably would have killed you.” They all chuckled at this, everyone would have rather drunk.

They loved their weekends together because they got to do this, have fun and laugh. April was in college and spent a lot of time studying, even if she came to the lair at least four times a week. Casey wasn’t in college but he had a job at his local ice arena, he helped teach young kids hockey and did general cleaning and maintenance, that kept him pretty busy. Karai was always busy, over the time she took over the Foot Clan had reclaimed their good name but she was still having to deal with certain people still loyal to Shredder or mob bosses who saw her as an easy hit. Even if they were busy they still would try to gather together every weekend to relax and half fun together. This Friday night, with alcohol already clouding their minds, they were playing Truth, Dare or Drink.

Leaning forward Casey took hold of the bottle and spun it, still leaning forward he plucked up a dare card not looking at the words yet. “Wow, Casey Jones picked dare.” Donnie chaffed, “Did not see that one coming.” Casey smiled cheerfully at the turtle with wide eyes, gap teeth, and a middle finger on both hands. There was a chuckle at their banter, Donnie had become comfortable with it and often looked forward to his time with Casey. They had truly become good friends.

As the sound rolling of glass slowly dulled so did everyone’s voice until both were silent. The neck of the bottle pointing, if a bit vaguely, at Donnie. Mikey oohed with excitement like Casey Mikey enjoyed movement rather than talking so he always preferred dares. Hopefully, this dare won’t be a drink instead.

Dramatically, Casey lifted his arm to point at the turtle, “Donatello! The cards dare you to,” He lifted the card up to read aloud, “do a body shot off your opponent.” There was a chorus of laughs and oos from everyone as Donnie shook his head.

“No, no. I’m not doing that. I’ll drink.” Everyone turned to boo him. “BOOO!” he answered.

“Donnie you haven’t done one dare!”

“Mikey, I’ve only gotten one other dare.”

“AND YOU DIDN’T DO IT!” Mikey was having a hard time trying to understand what Donnie didn’t get about this very simple topic. Just before Donnie could say anything Raph leaned forward from his spot on the couch interjecting their argument.

“Hey come on, it's fine. This is Donnie’s choice.” He paused for a second taking a drink from his cup as everyone looked surprised. He smirked as he pulled the cup away, “And he’s choosing to be a fucking killjoy.” There were a few laughs as Donnie just rolled his eyes, he reached for his cup leaning forward from his spot on the floor.

A hand reached out and stopped his wrist, he followed the hand up to April who had walked over to him from her seat next to Karai. She was crouched down sitting on her heels, he ninja training with the other girls must be going great, he had not even heard her move. “Look, Donnie,” He’s heard that tone of voice before, “if you don’t want to do this that’s fine but you had two easy dares. Just have fun no one will make fun of you.”

“Bullshit.”

“Did you see us make fun of anyone else?” Thinking back Donnie could remember everyone laughing at crazy antics but then just more celebrating all together. When Leo had to let Raph draw on his face with a sharpie everyone was laughing, even Leo now sporting a lovely penis across his forehead among other drawings.

Donnie sighed, might as well give the people what they want, “Alright fine I’ll do it.” he said throwing his hands up. Before he could even stand up Casey and Mikey had already hoped up and started moving to the kitchen laughing and cheering. As everyone else stood and made their way to the kitchen Casey was sitting on the table, legs dangling over the sides, shrugging off his jacket and throwing it to the side. Bent over the open fridge Mikey was looking for the tequila Casey had brought over with the beer. The salt and lime already in his hands as Mikey grabbed the chilled bottle and placed the items on the table. Soon the rest of the group joined them at the table just as Casey began to pull his shirt over his head.

Donatello couldn’t help but see how the human had really grown into his frame, as a scientist observes an animal grow and mature. His muscles were more defined from when he was a gangly kid, his abdomen had the defined lines of muscle. His hips made a V just before his pants, this was accented further due to a small patch of hair leading from his belly button to bellow his pants. Donnie realized this felt different than observing and animal grow and mature, ‘Must be the alcohol.’ he thought to himself, because what else could it be? A shout from Mikey quickly shook him from his trance. “Dude, what the hell!”

“What?!”

“What the fuck is on your nipples?!”

The turtle’s had seen Casey shirtless before but something had changed. Now there was a visible bar of metal going through each nub where there hadn’t been last time. “Oh yeah,” Casey chuckled looking at his chest, “I got my nipples pierced.”

“Well, that part is obvious!” Shouted Raph, “When did you do this?”

“A little after the tongue at a shop.” Raph had known about the tongue. They had gotten their tongue piercing done together by Slash. Sure it may have been a ‘teenage at home piercing’ but it was straight and healed up just fine, that was almost a solid year and a half ago. Donnie rolled his eyes as he got to work cutting the lime, being very careful as he could feel his body sway.

“It’s just body modification, lots of humans do it.” Even though his words were indifferent his eye’s lingered on Casey’s chest, a slight amount of dark hair contrasted with the sparkling silver rings. There was something fascinating about it that just drew in Donnie’s attention, they suited Casey.

“Dude, it’s so weird looking!” Mikey reached forward and poked at the human’s nipple. Normally Casey was cool with being randomly touched by Mikey, especially in a party situation like this. However, as soon as he pressed down on Casey the turtle had his hand pushed away as Casey scooted away on the table with a nervous hum, laugh. He had reached up to covering his nipple with his hand and other arm held up to keep Mikey at a distance.

“Whoa! Ok!” There was still a chuckle with his words, “Hey Mikey lets not touch my nipples ok.” There was a questioning look in his eyes as well as everyone else, Casey shrugged, “They made my nipple more sensitive than I'm used too.” There was a slight pinkness in his cheeks as everyone briefly discussed this new topic. Donatello could feel his face heat up as well, ‘Must be from the alcohol.’ he thought.

Raph snatched the lime slice Donnie had cut and ran the fruit next to Casey’s belly button and poured salt over it, the crystals clung to the lime juice on his skin. After much debate, the group decided to pour the shot into the dip made by Casey’s pronounced collar bone when he leaned his head back. It wasn’t enough to fit an entire shot and he wasn’t allowed to move or he would pour the tequila but it made the body shot feel more authentic, whatever that means. Casey complained slightly about the cold fruit and liquor but no one really cared enough to change anything, besides it was already too late to change anything. So Casey just sat there, neck stretched back, leaning on one arm with a lime slice in his mouth waiting on a certain purple-clad turtle.

Donnie stepped between the human's legs a bit reluctantly, they looked at each other, well as best they could without Casey moving his head.  Donnie with his arms crossed, he waited for Casey to back out because surely he would by this point. But he just sat there, lime sticking out of his gap teeth surrounded by a shit-eating grin, Donnie couldn’t let that grin win. After a few more still, silent seconds Donnie took a breath and bent down.

Donatello’s rough tongue ran over the area of salt on the human’s stomach, he could feel Casey tense slightly under his tongue, he could feel the soft, warm skin as it contracted against muscle. Donnie ran over the slight dip were his abs were more defined, he couldn’t taste the human over the tart lime and salt but some animalistic part of him wanted to. Some inner part of his brain wanted to bite the human. Vaguely in the distance, he could hear hoots of encouragement but they were drowned out by the sound of hot blood rushing to his head. Still, they pulled him back to the task at hand, already forgetting his primal thought.

As Donnie stood he rested his hands on either side of Casey on the table, he leaned forward and touched his lips to the human’s collar bone and the tequila. Donnie could have sworn he heard Casey’s breath hitch over the chorus of cheers when his tongue lightly ran over the soft alcohol wet skin. With a loud, almost comically, disruptive slurp Donnie had swallowed the alcohol, it burned his throat but the salt helped.

Moving on, he leaned forward to take the lime from the other’s mouth, he bit down and pulled only to be met with resistance. Casey held onto the lime with a smirk forcing Donnie to play a game of tug o’ war for the lime, very annoying.

The turtle looked up to glare at Casey only to find black eyes already looking at him and it felt like time had frozen. Donnie wondered if he had ever looked at Casey’s eyes. Donnie thought that he had eyes like the deepest water, black and bottomless pools of onyx trying to pull the turtle in. For a moment he thought he could explore those eyes for hours trying to find their end and never get tired.

Snapped out of his daze by Casey letting go of the lime causing Donnie to stumble back from his own tugging. This earned a chuckle from the group followed by pats on his shell and congratulations. Smiling and laughing with everyone he couldn’t help but feel his heart beat faster and harder in his chest. He glanced over at Casey and saw him putting his shirt back on and laughing with Raph about how he jumped off the table and almost fall.

Everyone was using this time to talk about what had been happening in the game and to grab more snacks and drinks. Also to pet Ice Cream Kitty, like a lot. A few people cried. Petting Ice Cream Kitty is serious business. Donnie was pouring bags of snacks into different bowls when his eye’s drifted to Casey once or twice, looking for something. He was standing in front of the open freezer having just put whipped cream on the sugary cat, he then tipped his head back to fill his mouth with whipped cream. Donnie watched as his long neck stretched back, Donnie remembered how soft his skin felt against the harsh salt taste. A more animalistic part of his brain said something but it was muffled in the back of his mind.

“Don, you ok?” April’s voice pulled him out of his daze and he realized he has spilled quite a few pretzels.

“Yeah, yeah I’m fine just lost focus.” He smiled and worked to clean up the spilled pretzels. Why was he so fascinated by Casey?

‘Must be from the alcohol.’ he thought.

Amount of sleep: it depends... in high school, it used to be that I just wouldn’t sleep during the months of January and June, but now in uni it’s changed to October-December and February-April; honestly, I could go to sleep at like 3AM, and still wake up at 7AM and be fine as long as I finish classes by like 6PM - I don’t need more than 3-4h of sleep

What I’m wearing: my favourite... what colour is this maroon? like a plum, reddish-purpley (burgundy? I don’t know colours) thing (matches my hair) sweater that says ‘hello’ the bottom in white, the one pair of jeans I wear even though I have like 10 others, and my gray snow boots which are pretty cute considering that snow boots are ugly as fuuuuck (and probably pizza socks... am I wearing socks today? I don’t think I remembered to put on socks, nvm)

Dream job: to work with the UN, that's what I'm striving towards anyway, and maybe get a book published (my main goal in life is to be a functioning adult, and honestly, the UN thing seems infinitely more realistic)

Dream trip: a road trip to I don’t know where yet, but it’s gonna be a road trip

Favorite food: does food in general count? the first thing that comes to mind is chotpoti (it’s basically the filling you have inside a pani puri, but better cuz phuchkas over pani puri every time - but it’s literally these tiny lentils, chickpeas if you wanna be lazy, cooked with potatoes and every spice known to the world and then you add the tamarind sauce which is so hard to make and that’s why there’s always a limited amount but every asshole that comes to our place on Eid literally drinks it like some animal but whatever you literally have to soak the dry tamarind in water and get all the gross stuff out while keeping the good stuff and figure out a good balance of chilli powder, salt and sugar and it’s never as good as when mom does it)

Idk why I just ranted like it’s my job, but I’m leaving it there. I also like thin-crust mushroom pizza (the brand is Ristorante and it is the best), my dad’s shrimp and potato curry (idk what else to call it, I don’t even eat it with rice, I turn that shit into a taco, I’m not even sorry), naan and bihari kebab w/ that really spicy green chutney/raita/whatever it is, piyaju and aloo chop (it’s fried and it’s so bad for you, and I hate onions but for some reason I don’t give a fuck when it comes to piyaju even though it’s just lentils and onions - it’s frieeeeeed), and apple pie (apple anything dessert tbh)

Play any instruments: I've played piano kinda on and off (I could probably follow a song), I learned flute in middle school but I never continued it and ooooooo I'm trying to teach myself guitar; I also sing

Languages: Bangla (I need to re-learn how to read and write though, which is so sad), Hindi, Urdu, English, French, I’m slowly becoming fluent in Spanish and I’m trying to teach myself Arabic (listen, I might not be the doctor cousin, but look grandma I can read the Quran - I know my strengths! also, Arabic is a really pretty language)

Midnight Cravings (Liam x MC)

Author’s Notes: First fanfic ever so please take pity on me. Canon divergence. This is a scene I’d like to have happen during the final week leading up to the coronation. It’s pure fluff. Be prepared for cheesy, ooey-gooey fluff. If not a fan of that, stay away lol.

Summary: Taking place during Coronation week both MC and the Prince are stressing and happen to meet over cookies and cocoa late at night spending much needed time together and confessions are made.

11:40 pm. The red numbers glow in the dark room. Justice tosses and turns in the lavish bed. She finally rolls onto her back and sighs

“I’m so nervous and anxious for this Friday I can’t even sleep! I mean, I’m laying on a cloud compared to that board back in New York I called a bed I should be knocked out.”

She puts her hand on her face and slowly rubs it down and lets out a frustrated growl. Justice turns to the alarm clock on her nightstand.

“At this rate there’s no way I’m getting sleep.”

She lays for a moment and suddenly an idea strikes.

“This is a perfect time for my hot cocoa and cookies. No one else will be up and the royal kitchen is stocked up with every ingredient imaginable and the latest equipment.”

Satisfied with her thinking Justice gets up out her bed and looks in the mirror debating if she should change out of her  red tank top and short pajamas shorts that hug her hips low.

“You know what no one is going to be roaming around at this time at night, I’ll just defy dress code this time,” she says aloud with a sly smile and laughs to herself.

She walks through the hallways of the palace admiring the various historical artifacts and portraits of past rulers until she reaches the grand staircase. She delicately steps down each step careful to not make a sound.She reaches the bottom of the stairs and heads towards the kitchen. She pushes through a door and gazes on the big kitchen area. Rows of several ovens and stovetops used to prepare elaborate and elegant meals for the royals are in site.

She steps into the room and to her left is five giant stainless, silver fridges. To the right the pantry that looks as if it could’ve been another bedroom.

“Wow…” the words lost to her as she continues to gaze at the site before her. She gathers herself and is off to collect the items she needs.

“Alrighty now let’s see...tsk tsk if I were pots and pans where would I be in a palace?”she questions.

She looks in the cabinets under the main stove in the center of the kitchen and finds the perfect size sauce pan. She gets up and places it on a stovetop and goes through the entire kitchen collecting everything she needs to bake. Soon the once pristine kitchen counters are filled with bowls, pans, trays and spices.

Justice moves in the kitchen seamlessly as if she were dancing, feeling better than she was earlier. The saucepan used to make her famous cocoa is releasing a chocolatey spiced aroma about the room. Her special cookies are in the oven, the smell of pumpkin wafts through. The kitchen smells of a soft autumn day and unknowingly her baking is sending amazing scents not just around this area but through the vents. Which travels and reaches the room to the one she cares for.

Prince Calvin is in his room and is wide awake unable to sleep. His bed abandoned quite a while ago with the comforter on the floor. He’s troubled by what’s to come and paces the floor by his window back and forth and so on. It seems to him that it’s all happening too fast. He wishes he could just relax and take a step back but knows there’s no time for that. Yet he longs for the only thing that can get him to do so, rather one person, Justice. Just the thought of her makes his heartbeat accelerate.

“Lady Justice is the key to my peace, my heart, my soul. I’d be lying to myself if I don’t admit it. Admit to myself that I’m madly in love with this charming woman. Who is so lively, adventurous, intelligent, determined and alluring.”

As his thoughts are flooded by images of her and memories made with this woman they’re interrupted by a enriching smell. It’s so compelling he climbs out of bed and he follows it.

He moves through the hallways and onto the stairs and whispers to himself.  

“Who could be up at…” He turns to a clock on the wall to check the time,“12:30 am, and why are they in the kitchen?”

All the servants are gone for the night so he knows it isn’t any of them. As he steps off the staircase and heads to the kitchen he peeks in the door. Once his gaze falls on the culprit he melts inside.

Then he leans in the doorway to watch. 

“Of course it’s her.” The one he couldn’t seem to rid his mind of.

He’s captivated as she glides about the kitchen stirring whatever is in the pot. Especially enjoying how her pajama shorts slightly rise as she roams about the space giving him a peak of her perfect ass. He unknowingly moves towards her, he doesn’t know why but his body longs to be next to her whenever she’s in his reach. As he inches closer, he hears her soft humming grow to singing.

Justice is currently stirring the last ingredients into her cocoa 

“And lastly a ½ cup of crushed peppermint candy, a nice little bite to balance this rich Cordonian chocolate. I should’ve known it wasn’t just their apples with intense flavors.”she laughs to herself. 

She pulled out her pumpkin oatmeal cookies earlier and is waiting for them to cool. She’s stirring the saucepan waiting for the peppermint to melt through.

She begins to hums one of her favorite songs and soon breaks into the lyrics.

  “Baby you don’t know, what you do to me, between me and you, I feel a chemistry. I won’t let no one, come and take your place, ‘Cause the love you give, can’t be replaced. So, no one else can do me like you do…”

Her back is facing the door while she continues to sing when Calvin enters and wraps his arms around her waist. She stops at first frightened but relaxes as she smells a familiar cologne. 

“Calvin?” she whispers. He lightly peppers her neck with kisses. 

“Yes,” he answers.

She turns around to face him, her smile bright. He leans down to kiss her lips, his eyes close and instead of the feel of her lips he feels a smack to the forehead.

 “Oww, what was that for?” he asked genuinely confused as he rubs his head. Justice grins evilly back at him and replies 

“That’s for scaring me to death a minute ago.”

“Ahh yes…Ahem, I apologize for that.”He still says rubbing his head.“Here, lean down.”she says.

He complies and where she hit him she places a kiss. 

“Better?” she gives him a sweet smile. 

He grins at her and answers “Much.”

He pulls her to his chest once more and asks “Sing.”

Puzzled she looks at him.  “Sorry, you want me to sing?”

“Yes, I had heard you before I rudely interrupted and would love to hear your enchanting voice again.”

She gently reached up to kiss his lips tenderly 

“As you wish your highness.”she says sexily. 

Justice turns so that her back is in his chest. Then wraps his arms around her body and slowly sways side to side forcing his body to mirror her actions. All the while she continues singing the song she sang earlier.

“That’s why I want to spend my life with you.”

She moves her hand to reach his head and slowly trails it down his face feeling every curve and the light stubble.“I want to please you in any way I can. I want to show you my world, don’t you understand?”

As her hand leaves his face she grasps his hand and places it on her heart all the while still swaying her hips to the beat in her head.

“Your love is a one in a million. It goes on and on and on. You give me a real, good feeling all day long.”

Justice finishes the note and turns back to face Calvin and kisses him deep and lovingly.

She reluctantly releases his lips and quickly turns from him and cuts off the heat from her pot and pours the hot liquid into two mugs. He watches her leave him momentarily and breathes out slowly. 

“Her dancing caused a certain part of me to be more awake than normal. Alright think gross pictures, umm Maxwell and Drake in Bikinis.”

He imagines and grimaces. He feels himself cool down. Before his train of thought leads him back to her movements he focuses his attention back to Justice currently. She tops both hot cocoa with mini marshmallows, whip cream, and cinnamon.

She hands one to Calvin.

“Looks like you need this,” she tells him.

He graciously takes the cup ,before taking a sip he mentions.

“Your voice is breathtaking. I’ve never had the privilege til now to hear such a song. What’s it called?” 

Justice smiles and coyly adverts her eyes from him. 

“You sure know how to charm a girl Calvin. Thank you  though, and it’s called One in a Million by a singer named Aaliyah.”

“Beautiful song, was there a specific reason why you were singing this particular song, maybe a special someone?” he asks smugly.

“Hmm maybe.” she responds.

He shakes his head at her out of amusement. 

“I should have known it was you at this hour stirring trouble.”

She feigns offence. 

“What! Me, I’m just innocently baking and I’m never trouble.”  The prince gave her a look.

 “Okay this time I’m not causing trouble.” 

He laughs.“I was too curious as to who caused the sweet fragrance.”

She glances at him surprised. “You smelt my baking all the way from your room?” 

He moves to a nearby table with chairs, sits and replies. 

“Yes, and honestly I was having difficulty trying to sleep and a delicious and inviting aroma happened to pass by my nose and I just had to figure out what it was.”

Justice follows him where he sits carrying a plate of cookies and her cup and sits next to him. He sips from his drink and turns to look at her and stares back at forth from the cup and her until she breaks his silence.

“Umm...is there something wrong? I mean it’s an original recipe, so you may not car-” Calvin grabs her hand and squeezes it and interrupts her.

“This is the best cup of hot chocolate I’ve ever had.”

“Really, even better than the Michelin star chefs who work in the palace.” she teased with a leer.

“ Far better,” he responds as he finishes his drink.

He grabs a cookie and eats it and closes his eyes and moans in satisfaction. Ensuing him to eat more. 

His moan made Justice swoon inside and a blush reached her cheeks as she thought,

“I can think of more naughtier, fun ways to make him moan like that again. Okay down girl, don’t think sexy thoughts.”

Before it went farther in that direction she looks at him and chortles at how adorable he is. He notices her soft giggle and raises an eyebrow.

“What is it?”

“It’s nothing, just that who would’ve thought that the “Proper Crown Prince” is before me guzzling down hot cocoa and cookies in his pajamas like a five year old.” she says with a cheeky smirk.

He stops and chuckles. 

“Everytime I’m with you Lady Justice-” she cut him off.

“It’s after hours please it’s Justice.”

He smiles.

“Of course, as I was saying when I’m with you I feel so carefree and discover more of your many talents. I mean a singer and phenomenal baker.”

Justice gives him a sly smirk, her eyes tinted with mischief. 

“You forgot mentioning an amazing lover.”

Calvin blushes furiously and begins to stammer as he remembers her mentioning this talent. She snickers. 

“Don’t worry, if you’re a good little prince I will give you a demonstration one day.” she ribs.

“Heh, there you go again. You’re so bewitching it’s as if you have some spell over me. That whatever mood, no matter how stress or upset I am you make me laugh, make me smile. It’s one of the many reasons why I lo-” he stops himself from continuing.

He looks away, ashamed that he might have hurt her by not saying it right now. He’s scared to say those three little words aloud to her. Justice takes his hands. 

“It’s okay. I know you must censor yourself especially as the ball nears. But I have to let you know; remember when we first met I told you I was looking for adventures, well what I didn’t expect was to fall in love.”

His eyes are wide and bright as he turns to stare at her.

“Just like the song I sang, you Calvin are truly one in a million. I’ve never felt a connection like this before. And no matter what remember it’s you and only you who has my heart. I, I love you. More than you could ever know.”

“Justice…” He reaches towards her face and pulls her closer. 

“You don’t have to say it right now, but I want you know this, whatever is to come I will never stop loving you and wanting the best for you.” she whispered as she’s pulled in.

Teardrops slowly leave Justice’s hazel eyes as she stares into the Prince’s brown ones. Thinking how much she adores the man in front of her even if his future doesn’t feature her alongside him. It pained Calvin to see the woman who he deems his soulmate sad. Especially at his dispense. He gracefully moves his fingers and wipes her tears away then leans in and kisses her so softly and passionately. Removing any sadness and doubt from Justice’s mind. His emotions pour into this one action, no more caution, no more restrictions. This moment Calvin allowed his heart to pilot over his mind.

They separate to catch their breaths. Calvin pulls Justice onto his lap and cuddles her into his chest. She can hear his heartbeat. For a moment both of their worries washed away. In his mind Calvin finally makes a decision on an internal battle that he’s been fighting. 

“Consequences be damned.”

“Justice…”she turns to him.

“ I care about you immensely. I’m crazy about you. It’s ironic because I’m supposed to make a choice, yet I’m lucky you chose me. Being with me isn’t going to be easy and I was sure that this life would scare the chance at true love away. Part of me thinks that there’s someone out there who could give you the normal life you deserve and I should let you go.” He lowers his head.

She turns and lifts his head, so his eyes are to hers.

“It wouldn’t be much of a life if you weren’t by my side. The life I deserve whatever it may be includes you. I couldn’t live life without my better half.”

He’s heart soars at her words and kisses her once more holding her so tight as if she’d slip away.

Their foreheads are press against another as they break apart. Justice looks at the empty plate and cups and says aloud.

“Who would’ve known midnight cravings and insomnia led to this.” He smiles and kisses her forehead.

He grips her tighter and thinks. 

“If she brings this warmth to me then she will bring it to all of the subjects of Cordonia. It’s decided she must be Queen and be my wife.”

The question that plagued him all week has been answered.“There’s no other suitor who could be a better suit than her, no other can I envision by my side other than her.”

Justice keeps her arms locked around his neck as he pulls her into him as if they’re one.She glances at the clock and notices it’s 1:00 am now. She begins feeling sleepy and more comfortable than she’s ever felt in years.

They stay there for 10 more minutes when she reluctantly stands up from his lap and leaves his protective grasp. 

“I guess it’s time to retire for the night or if you want to get technical the morning.” she mentions quietly with a small frown.

Calvin looks at her not wanting to go separate ways just yet. He gets a daring thought.

 “We could continue this in my chambers.” 

She gives him a surprised look that turns into a smirk.

“My, my, my,  look who is testing the lines of danger. We would cause quite a scandal sir.”

He moves from his seat to stand next to her and kisses her neck knowing that’s her weakness.

“I can’t be away from you right now. I crave to have you next to me. There’s a way you could sneak out. Don’t overthink it, just say yes.”

Knowing she was losing this battle and the fact he’s initiating the daring move she says 

“Okay.”

He beams at her and together they clean up the mess in the kitchen and sneak off towards Prince Calvin’s room hand in hand. Both of them content that their cravings had been sated.
