Friendly get-together at Sundays, Marikina
While I’m happy as a clam with my current work-from-home setup, there are days when I do miss my work buddies. These are the peeps that I can relax with, as well as exchange jokes and all the hot gossip with. During pre-pandemic times, we would venture out of our office during our lunch break to check out the nearby dining spots. Due to the fun we have while checking out new restaurants and…

(\_/) AUTOBIOGRAPHY (\_/)
My name is Raven Ageo Reyes, I was born on September 21, 2005 in Marikina City My mother is Divina Gracia Marcelo who was born in Parañaque, and my father is Rodelio Reyes who was born in Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija. I have sister. Rhodelyn Reyes. I am the younger among sibling. Enjoy playing online games like mobile legend and call of duty. I use to read manga during my free time, I also love watching movies and anime. I am a quiet type of person but I am not introvert I go out with my cousins and friends to watch basketball but there times that I want to be alone. I am not a person that easily noticed by someone because I'm a quiet type of person. There are maybe a thousand stars in the sky, but I'm like one of those thousand star that have own light that shines.
I have simple but happy family. We attend the Holy Mass every Sunday. We regularly go out to have family bonding and during weekends we help each other in doing household chores. My childhood was happy because of my family. But when I was months old, my mother and my father separates Since then, we lived with my grandparents and my cousins. My father finds job to support our family needs. Growing up with broken family is not easy, especially on me because I am the younger among our siblings, we have a lot of sacrifices specially my father. But with the help of my grandparents, we survive and we don't feel the absence of my mother. They like a moon that light the dark days of my life. Life is a road, it may be smooth or rough. Like there are times in our life that we are fine but there are times that we struggle. But even though we face challenges in life, we still overcome it.
I firmly believe that if you really want something in life, just strive toward it and never give up on what you have begun. No matter how many obstacles you face, keep going towards your dreams. Rest if you're feeling worn out, but don't give up. Take a chance rather than later regret not doing something.
My life is not ideal, but I am grateful that I have a loving father who is there for me whenever I need him. He always looks out for us and keeps us safe. He always directs us to do what is right, and she never puts up with wrongdoing on our part. Of course, I'm also grateful to our All-Powerful God, who will always supply. Without His direction, we cannot endure the challenging moments in our lives.

OneNETnews Investigates: A Young Pinay Teenager nab almost PHP3M worth of K-Pop Merch facing Degenerative Hate and colossal Cyberbullying on Social Media
QUEZON, MANILA -- A suspected Pinay teen from Cubao, Quezon City, Manila after she illegally demands PHP2.7M (U$D49,335.34), in exchange for buying collection & merchandise, with a best and biggest names of Korean Pop (excluding Pinoy Pop or P-Pop for SB19, BGYO, HORI7ON, LAPILUS, etc.).
During a news magazine programme of "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho" aired last Sunday night (March 5th, 2023 -- Manila local time), a Senior High School student named "Bea" (not the actual real name) said, they believe to stole money from her grandmother to secretly buy K-Pop albums and photo cards online.
Tumblr media
According to an exclusive report of GMA News, Bea's grandmother Agnes tried to help her with her money allowance for purchasing something in connection for K-Pop, but her family is at serious risk due to low income and can be found in the Cubao market.
Bea's allowance cost PHP450 (U$D8.23) a day or PHP13,500 (U$D246.84) per month. Because of a popular demand, she is planning to buy K-Pop merch and memorabilia online with a disclosed e-wallet payment methods. Not only that, she bought a VIP ticket worth PHP13,250 (U$D242.27) to ENHYPEN's concert last February 3rd to 5th, 2023 during "Manifesto" concert tour at the ShoeMart Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Manila. Before that... She was the only 5th Grader with a consistent graduation because classmates and friends refers to a music scene and culture under the school subject of Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health (MAPEH).
Anne Savisa Boonchuy, former Disney XD News Intern and herpetologist for The Aquatic of the Pacific, who is also an avid Thai fan of K-Pop dives with us on our investigative news team for OneNETnews.
Tumblr media
Dr. Camille Garcia, psychologist at the Garcia General Hospital (GGH) in Marikina told GMA News that her symptoms of K-Pop merchs and collection puts her at risk for an Impulse Control Disorder (ICD).
Tumblr media
Bea's family tries to get back some of the money by selling some of the items online via mobile broadcasting, but its sadly cut short to 0.51% out of PHP2.7M.
The communities of K-Pop are in toxic beast mode of cyberbullying attack, with a dark side of harassment, massive profanations and excessive trolls, in violation of the Republic Act #10627 or the Anti-Bullying Act of 2013, Article #353 or The Revised Penal Code (known as the Cyber Libel) and The 1987 Philippine Constitution: Article 3 - Section 4. Despite a controversial prime time episode aside to ignoring toxicity, offensive & political comments on social media against Bea and her family, television viewers and streaming online are in hatred peril for a mass boycott and dislikes of KMJS.
Tumblr media
Few days ago from last Tuesday (March 7, 2023), Boonchuy obtained the exclusive statement via Facebook post as Jessica Aspiras Soho defending viewers on DZBB-TV's GMA 7: Manila with a bite-sized and rough translation in Tagalog dialect: "It has now emerged that someone claimed to have stolen K-Pop merchandise from MRT-Cubao (Metro Rail Transit), but local police and the station say no one has reported anything. The 'Bea' family, who have been featured on KMJS for stealing millions to buy K-Pop stuff are asking for their privacy. KMJS condemns trolling and bullying of its employees and made this story in total caution, nor offend".
In the pursuant of House Bill #129: Section 4 or "The Online and Social Media Membership Accountability Act", signed by Negros Oriental Representative named Arnolfo "Arnie" Alipit Teves Jr., illegal activities of cyberbullying in any kind against "Bea" and her family if possibly proven guilty on all social media platforms online, most of the Philippine laws are subject for fines, community service in jail or probably both. OneNETnews and Disney XD News cannot independently determine on its said sentence or charges in a nearest regional trial court.
The international showcase of K-Pop collection and merchandise are in big trouble like "Bea", which was soon becomes a trauma star without any public apology in anti-socialism and leads to be a worldwide online protest from bashers, brazenly negative haters, political degenerates and the consequences of social media.
As of this writing, there is no actual remedy to address the issue aside the Korean Pop collection and merch. The management and staff of KMJS will soon terminate its televised programme and a broadcast contract of GMA 7: Manila if the ratings continue to hit a new low.

this week marked the opening of classes in public schools around the country, and the first onsite classes in nearly three years. i teach in a private, progressive institution now - we are a quarter of the way done with our school year and piloted f2f classes as early as last year. but i never let the opening of the new school year pass without reflecting and always, without fail, sitting, ruminating, with a profound sense of failure.
tonight, too, we celebrate 10 years of teach for the philippines. amidst the news of lack of chairs, long lines for education assistance, teachers spending personal money to turn bodegas into classrooms, sixth graders who can barely read - it is so, so hard to find reasons to celebrate. my own career, and commitment to the education sector, began here at tfp, almost 10 years ago too. so little has changed. we have gone forwards and backwards, everywhere and no where, and i can’t help but feel like despite all of it we have barely moved the needle.
i think of the two years i spent at sto. cristo, determined to teach these students how to read (the word and the world, as freire would put it). the big goal (i learned this at tfp too, the idea of big goals) then was to end illiteracy. two pandemic years later and learning poverty is at an all-time high.
i think of my time in deped, the near-obsession everyone had over building classrooms, closing the shortage left behind by the previous administration. the school visits when we would meticulously check that each student would have a place to sit, training principals on how to face the media scrutiny on opening day. today, a headline read: “teachers view opening week as a complete disaster.”
i think of marikina, the days (nights) we would spend personally signing, sealing and delivering letters to financial assistance beneficiaries. mayor’s strict instructions to make sure every person in line was cared for. seven sundays blasting on the LED screen as we distributed food and water to the crowd. posible naman maging makatao ang pagbibigay ng ayuda - why haven’t they learned?
and i think, wow there is so, so much still to do. the easy part is admitting that we simply have not done enough. 10 years of hard work cannot and will never on its own defeat a rigged system - no one who signs up for this work ever believed that it would.
the hard part is accepting the simple truth that this is as much a personal failure as it is an institutional one, and gathering the courage, the strength, the humility - to begin again.

84-2618 - Marikina bridge
After our breakfast on Sunday 10 March we cycled back up the Marikina River, and then stopped on the way back to sketch. This is the view that I had. I couldn’t find anything about this bridge other than that it is called the Marikina Bridge…not a very imaginative name, but fair enough as it’s not a very exciting piece of construction! Rustic Mornings by Isabelo Opens at Its New Location in Marikina
Tumblr media
Marikina's culinary pride has just moved to a bigger and better location. Family traditions, celebrations, and great meals continue at the new Rustic Mornings by Isabelo which can now be found just a few steps away from its original spot in Marikina. Now we can all enjoy some of the best breakfast fare you can find in Metro Manila at its more spacious and refreshing new venue.
Tumblr media
The Hungry Kat was proud to be one of the guests during the Grand Opening of Rustic Mornings by Isabelo last November 29, 2023. The ribbon cutting was led by Honorable Marjorie Ann Teodoro of Marikina City and Manuel Samson of Otto Shoes who owns the property. Together with their friends and families, sisters Portia Baluyot-Magsino and Lady Bess Howe are now opening this new chapter for Rustic Mornings.
Tumblr media
Rustic Mornings by Isabelo is a cozy garden restaurant serving all-day breakfast, lunch, pastries and coffee enjoyed by families because of its unique charm and rustic homey ambiance. It has been regarded as one of the best restaurants in Marikina since it opened in 2012. For many residing in the East of Metro Manila, Rustic Mornings is so much more than somewhere to eat out. It is a fixture in their mental map of the city where friends and family get together to bond and enjoy good food.
Tumblr media
I was quite impressed with the new location of Rustic Mornings which still retains its cheerful and homey ambiance. The restaurant is open 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Thursday and from 8:00am to 6:00pm on Friday to Sunday.
Tumblr media
Isabelo means ”God Is Bountiful” and you can see this reflected in the gardens and design of the place. Dining at Rustic Mornings is like being in a room inside an extended family home. Once you enter the al fresco dining area, you will find yourself with a certain kind of recollection of home, with all its pockets of greens and beautiful mosaic walls.
Tumblr media
Most of interiors and artwork were designed and inspired by Portia’s mother, Stephanie Baluyut, who was an artist and collector of these colorful trinkets and items which they proudly display all over Rustic Mornings. Mrs. Baluyot unfortunately passed away before they could open the new location but her memories and artwork will always be a part of its charm and history.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Rustic Mornings takes it further by introducing the Isabelo Events Hall which is perfect for special occasions. With a capacity for up to 120 guests, this spacious venue boasts a lofty ceiling adorned with foliage and stunning chandeliers, ideal for grand celebrations such as wedding receptions and birthdays. This space used to be part of a historical ruins in Marikina which has now been incorporated into the structure and design of the events hall.
Tumblr media
Rustic Mornings by Isabelo was started by advertising executive turned chef and restaurateur Portia Baluyut-Magsino in 2009 as Isabelo Garden, a by-reservation only restaurant that initially had just one table. With no formal culinary training but a lifelong love for food and the creative process, Portia evolved her restaurant into Rustic Mornings in 2012. After more than a decade. Rustic Mornings continues to serve truly satisfying comfort food that doesn't just fill the stomach but also delights the senses.
Tumblr media
We were ready to enjoy comfort food at its finest. Dining at Rustic Mornings always feels like a visit to a friend's house, especially with a brunch spread as bountiful as this. We were hosted by our Ninang Bess Howe who we consider not just a friend but part of our family.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
At Rustic Morning, an array of beverages awaits to complement every meal or satiate any craving, ranging from heartwarming hot chocolate and robust coffee to refreshing fruit smoothies and indulgent milkshakes.
Tumblr media
During this festive holiday season, Rustic Mornings is excited to present a selection of special offerings including Brunch Cocktails like the Rustic Sunshine (P390) and the Morning Mirage (P310). It's never too early for cocktails so this is definitely the best way to start the day.
Tumblr media
There were two special holiday beverages on the menu so I wanted to try both. The Peppermint Hot Chocolate (P125) is a Christmas version of my favorite hot chocolate drink topped with a candy cane. There's also the Tipsy S'Mores Cocktail (P340) for those who want Christmas cocktail together with their brunch.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
There are so many dishes to choose from inside Rustic Mornings' extensive menu. The Caesar Salad with Breaded Chicken and Herbed Croutons (P550) is a healthy way to start the morning.
Tumblr media
They also have the Super Crispy Tacos which is actually a secret menu item. You won't find this on the menu but you should try it because only the regulars know about this.
Tumblr media
The Buttered Chicken Roti (P550) is a flavorful Indian dish that can be enjoyed any time of the day. I would honestly be happy to eat this with rice since the buttered chicken is so good.
Tumblr media
You can also choose one of the Group Platters which are good for two to three persons. The Brunch Platter (P1220) comes with a combination of pancakes, waffles, bacon, eggs, and hash browns for a very big breakfast.
Tumblr media
Better yet, try their festive Christmas Breakfast Board (P1500) which is only available this holiday season. This gigantic platter comes with 8 mini Christmas pancakes, 6 bacon slices, a Nutella dip, butter cream with Christmas sprinkles, apple pie filling, kisses, mini candy canes, strawberries, mint leaves, grapes, and sliced bananas. This should be more than enough to make the entire table jolly.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
They also have Rice Bowls for those who want bigger lunch servings. The Grilled Salmon Fillet (P600) was my choice with its tender salmon. You can also get the Filipino Favorites like the Ilocos Bagnet (P520) served with garlic rice and two eggs done your way.
Tumblr media
We would like to congratulate Portia and Bess for Rustic Mornings' brand new location and for their successful grand opening event. Marikina really has a gem that has become a dining destination even for those living in neighboring cities. I'm planning to visit Rustic Mornings by Isabelo again soon to enjoy more of their heavenly pancakes and colorful brunch cocktails. See you there!

Assessments are rolled out, submissions are next week and I have prepared for face to face assessments this week so I have sunday as free time. Free time means build time. Finally got to work on this weird, moebius zero lookalike. Maneuver striker pack for MG Eclipse Gundam, another PBandai. The build is a little underwhelming and repetitive but it looks insane on the Eclipse. Definitely makes it more like a Seed suit, with all its pointy bits. I dunno. Someone pointed out that older gundam designs are just the suit and some backpack, or cool looking weapons while Seed suits are the ones with enormous backpacks with wings and boosters and cannons all over. Slightly true, or maybe not. But one thing for sure is it looks awesome. #abuilderslife #plamobuilder #plasticmodels #gunpla #gunplabuilder #gunplaislyf #pbandai #GundamSeedEclipse #MG_EW452HM_ManeuverStriker (at Marikina City) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpsHgolSXAQ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
