ok so like the ancients story thing is still very confusing to me. so i just kinda did my best. the whole dark enchantress and white lily coexisting part was based on the opening cutscene at the beginning of kingdom. i tried my best yall im sorry

•Maybe to the eyes of a regular cookie, you were just a simple little cookie. You weren’t widely disliked, far from it. You seemed to be unproblematic, that you never caused problems for anyone.

•But to the five ancients, you were their light.

•They first met you when they discovered your village being attacked by a startling amount of bandits. Without hesitation, they rushed in, ready to defend the innocent cookies.

•That's when they saw you. In the center of the village, you were there, standing strong, holding your sword with an unrelenting grip. Scars and blood littered your body from head to toe, but you still stood strong. The unconscious bodies of several criminals laid at your feet.

•The bandits slowly began to surround you, but you did not back down. No, you didn’t even falter in the slightest. You stood silently, waiting for them to attack. At this point, if you had to die protecting your home, so be it.

•Finally, they pounced.

•Hollyberry Cookie was the first to step up. She used her shield to protect you from their strike.

•White Lily Cookie and Golden Cheese Cookie had begun pulling out injured cookies and bringing them to Pure Vanilla Cookie. Dark Cacao Cookie brandished his sword, ready to defend alongside you.

•You were a bit startled at first, but you quickly realized they were there to help. As much as you wanted to say you didn’t need the help, you sigh.

•Finally, with the help of all the mysterious cookies, you were able to scare off all the attackers! Your village was saved!

•As you were being healed by Pure Vanilla Cookie, they wondered who exactly you were. They assumed you were someone of higher authority, but when you mentioned you were just a simple villager like anyone else, they wondered, why would you put down your own life so easily for all these cookies?

•You simply told them that protecting innocent cookies was the most important thing to you. If you had to die fighting, then that was that. You found solace in the fact that if you were to one day crumble fighting, you’d be glad it was for a good cause.

•After that day, five cookies would continue to visit you and your village. At first, it was to check up on both you and other seriously injured cookies in the town. But soon after, the soon to be all powerful ancients began coming back just for you.

•Pure Vanilla Cookie would always check up on you, making sure your health was the best it could be.

•Hollyberry Cookie enjoyed sharing drinks with you.

•Golden Cheese Cookie enjoyed listening to the stories about your home, and how you would listen to her talk about her home.

•White Lily Cookie enjoyed simply watching the sunset with you.

•Dark Cacao Cookie would occasionally spar with you (under Pure Vanilla’s supervision, of course).

•You never complained about this arrangement. You were grateful these cookies helped save your village. You even considered them your friends.

•The others on the other hand, looked up to you. You were strong, and were always willing to put other people before yourself. It inspired them to become just like you.

•It wasn’t until the Dark Flour War began when they never saw you again. Your village was long empty and destroyed, only the memories they made with you remained here.

•This, of course, was devastating to the ancients. Having to watch Earthbread crumble under Dark Enchantress Cookies rule was already horrible, but seeing the cookie that inspired them to be who they were now gone? It was heart wrenching.

•Despite you being gone, they continued to fight in your memory. Just like you defended your village that time, they will continue to fight until their last breath.

•And even after the Dark Flour War was finished, they still could not see you. They remained in hiding for many years to come. Hollyberry, Pure Vanilla, and Dark Cacao remained in their kingdoms, while Golden Cheese and White Lily had completely disappeared.

•It wasn’t until Gingerbrave had brought them all together again was where you would finally reunite.

•The Council of Heroes had gathered in the Vanilla Kingdom to discuss the revival of Dark Enchantress Cookie and what they were to do, when they saw you.

•You were there as the bodyguard of Madeleine Cookie (in reality, he did not need a bodyguard, but Financier insisted you accompany him, just to be sure he did not do something foolish). You carried a large sword on your back, and you carried the same expression you had all those years ago.

•Pure Vanilla Cookie was the first to truly recognize you, and he immediately froze. He didn’t know what to say. Should he approach you? Would you remember him? Black Raisin Cookie was concerned for him, but he assured her that it was nothing.

•When everyone was gathered in the council hall, that’s when Hollyberry and Dark Cacao finally noticed you as well. Dark Cacao’s eyes widened at the sight of you, and Hollyberry loudly exclaimed, promptly disrupting the council.

•You recognized them as well. You swallowed a lump in your throat, and as much as you wanted to talk to the three of them, you insisted that it wait until after the council, as there were more dire issues at hand.

•After the council, you were nearly trampled by Pure Vanilla and Hollyberry. They were so happy to see you, they had so much to say, but they were unable to put anything into words. You were alive?! How?!

•They also noticed you were a lot.. taller since they last saw you. Before the war, you were shorter than all of them. But now you seem to have put on a few inches. You basically towered over them.

•But no matter! Pure Vanilla took you by the hand and led you to the plaza of the Vanilla Kingdom, with Hollyberry and Dark Cacao (as well as their respective escorts) in tow.

•There, the three of you sat on the bench and talked for hours. The sun had already gone down, and you hadn’t moved from your position beside them. You were even introduced to Wildberry Cookie and Crunchy Chip Cookie. Although they were a bit intimidated by your height and looks, they were happy to meet you, as they had previously heard all the stories about you.

•There, the cookies learned the reason you left your village was because of the war. It was too dangerous for everyone to stay there, so you helped everyone evacuate to safety. You and the other cookies ended up in a place called the Crème Republic.

•In the end, being back with your old friends felt surreal. You had missed them just as much as they missed you. Even if you weren’t able to meet White Lily or Golden Cheese again, you were still happy. Maybe you’d see those two again some day too.

Aziraphale and Crowley CG ficlet!

Aziraphale + Crowley CGs + GN regressor! it's evening in the cottage, and you're sitting comfortably with Crowley on the couch; the only sounds filling the sunset-soaked room are the soft noises of Aziraphale in the kitchen. You can smell the first batch of cookies as he pulls them out of the oven, and you smile to yourself, looking at your little plastic dinosaur in your lap. Crowley turns his face away from his phone to look at you, and you look at him. For a moment, you're in a staring match - he's almost as mischievous as you, and you're prepared for anything he could throw at you. You've got your game face on.

He makes a grab for your dino, and you laugh, pulling it out of his reach - then he kisses your nose, and you squeal in surprise, giggling uncontrollably; he takes your dinosaur, making it kiss your cheek, and you shriek joyously. Over your own laughter, you can hear Aziraphale chuckle in the kitchen; Crowley's eyes light up as he stops his playful attack, a smirk slithering across his face.

"Button," he says quietly. "How about you go get us some cookies?"

"But they just came out," you say. "Azi wants them to rest."

"Oh, they'll be cool when you grab them," he takes your hand and kisses your fingertips, making your skin tingle. You grin; Crowley's miracles always help you regress. You hop up and tip-toe over to the kitchen, watching the hem of Aziraphale's dress brush against the bottom cabinets. You know Aziraphale is particular about his cookies... but it's just two, and Aziraphale won't even see you. When he turns his back to pour himself a new cup of tea, you run past him on tip-toes, trying to hold in your mischievous giggles - you can hear Crowley chuckle under his breath from the living room. You grab two cookies, miraculously cool against your hands, and run swiftly back to the living room before Aziraphale turns around.

Crowley opens his arms as you run back in, and you half-sit, half-fall into his lap. He holds you tight and rubs your back,

"There we are, brave little spy," you feel him smile against your head. "Now, let's have our spoils, hm?"

You give Crowley a cookie - it's a little bigger, and more golden than brown - and he smiles. The pair of you tuck into them, and though they were cool against your hand, they're warm and delicious in your mouth; perfectly sweet, but not too much; Aziraphale's baking is always magnificent.

Your victory is less sweet, however, when you hear Aziraphale say from the kitchen, "Could have sworn there were twelve here. Now there's... oh, lets see... eight, nine, ten." You can almost hear a smirk in his voice. "I seem to be missing two cookies, and it's suddenly awfully quiet..." You hear Aziraphale's heels tap against the tile, and you and Crowley exchange a wide-eyed look. You quickly finish your cookie and he follows suit, then licks his thumb and gently wipes a smear of chocolate off your face - both the picture of innocence as Aziraphale walks in, one eyebrow raised and a poorly-hidden smile on his lips.

"Tell me, my darling doves," he furrows his brows and pretends to be cross, and you can't help but giggle. "Did you see any cookies grow legs and walk out of the kitchen?"

"Nuh-uh," you shake your head confidently. "Cookies don't walk."

"Ah, I see." Aziraphale sits on the couch, taking Crowley's hand in his, biting back laughter as he looks pointedly at the chocolate stain on his thumb. "Been gardening, dear?"

"Cacao beans," Crowley sighs mournfully. "Such messy plants."

"That's not how cacao beans work," you whisper helpfully. Aziraphale looks at you and smiles, "now, then, cherub, I know you'd never lie to me. Did you take a cookie?"

You look to the floor. "Maaaybeeee..."

"Maybe?" Aziraphale scoops you up in his arms, and you giggle. "Okayyy. I did. I took two."

"Thank you, sweetheart. Now, I'll let it go this time. But do you know why we let the cookies rest?" he carries you over to the kitchen, Crowley following suit.

"Ummm... not really." Aziraphale sits you down on the counter, turning towards the sink.

"Because if they're too warm and too soft, they might fall apart in your hands, or get chocolate all over you." He raises a warm, wet towel to your face, wiping your cheek; you lean into the touch and he smiles. "And, if they fall apart, you can't dip them in milk."

"Oh, true!" you grin, kicking your feet. "Can we have some milk now?"

Aziraphale turns his eyes to the tray of cookies. "No, not quite yet, I don't think. But you can help me put cookie dough on the tray, and put that in the oven. By the time that's done, the cookies will have rested long enough. How about that, cherub?"

"M'tay," you clap softly, "I like that idea!"

"Sounds good," Crowley smiles, reaching around Aziraphale to snatch a cookie. "More for me!" as he brings it to his lips, the cookie crumbles and falls on his shirt; he scowls, and Aziraphale chuckles.

"Do you need one of the bibs, dear?"

Well i disagree on people thinking that Dark Cacao Cookie is a worst dad than Custard, at least Dark Cacao does love him and he just have issues that needed resolve unlike Custard who just use CC for politics. As for the bad king, he still is even without Affogato Cookie's involvement. He neglected to help the citizens, banish Caramel Arrow, and overlabor on the wall (I get it helps but there was never an attack until the Dark Cacao arc). Even when the arc is over, the kingdom is still a disaster that needed to be resolved like with Licorice sea.

I agree on that dad front, but I disagree with you on the king side of things.

I already made this huge ramble about it on Twitter, but I'll say it again on here. Let me compartmentalize this from my perspective:

Neglected to help his citizens: The only time that we've seen him 'neglecting to help his citizens' is when Affogato acted as Dark Cacao's mouthpiece and shooed away that little girl who was asking for help. Affogato was the one who dismissed her, and he didn't bother to give Dark Cacao the full context for what that ruckus was actually about. As a result, Dark Cacao was very much in the dark over how bad the situation was outside of his castle. There's also a very strong implication that Affogato has been in these high rankings for a while, and as such has probably been doing this for a very, very long time.

Banished Caramel Arrow: However, Dark Cacao did banish Caramel Arrow. He understands what her personality entails and that her desire to help her fellow Cacaonians would drive her to help them, so if something was wrong outside of the castle, he had faith that she would help to take care of the problem. I believe that he understood something was amiss but couldn't quite put his finger on it, so he didn't trust the immediate situation he was in to explain that in depth to Caramel Arrow herself.

The Wall: The wall is important for keeping out the Licorice Beasts. This is very much true. Something tells me that in the past, Dark Cacao witnessed the Licorice Beasts for himself, and ever since then, he's been feverishly dedicated to doing whatever he can to preserving what he has left. Think about what happened to him recently: The aftermath of the Dark Flour War, the loss of his friends, the fact that his son tried to kill him. There's a lot of betrayal and a lot of loss in Dark Cacao's very-recent past, so it's understandable that he'd do anything and everything he could to protect what he has left. Very likely the total trauma of all of that happening to him is what pulled him into the comfort and mania of seclusion in the first place. And very likely, now that I'm thinking about it, Dark Cacao probably was running under the assumption that if Dark Enchantress did end up making a return--or someone like her, even--then they would use the Licorice Beasts to their advantage to destroy his kingdom.

And the kingdom is still a disaster after the events with the Licorice Sea, but that tends to... I don't know. Happen after a massive invasion? And that takes time to fix.

And on the Licorice Beasts themselves, in Odyssey, it's revealed that the Licorice Beasts actually hail from the land of Beast-Yeast across the Licorice Sea. That's where they come from, and Beast-Yeast is an incredibly dangerous place as a direct result. The Licorice Beasts are an invasive species trying to cross over into Dark Cacao Kingdom territory, and Dark Cacao himself is doing everything in his power to remain vigilant and keep that from happening.

Because for all we know--and this is dipping into hypotheticals here, I'll admit--the Licorice Beasts can lie dormant in any body of water until sunset before clawing their way out to cause devastation. Do they really want to risk these creatures creeping into the mainland, to the Vanilla Kingdom, which is full of healers and intellects instead of any fighters? Or Hollyberry Kingdom, which has a tropical and humid atmosphere and is situated directly against the damn ocean, with canals and rivers flowing into the Capital City? Sure Hollyberry Kingdom knows how to fight--but there would be too much water for the Licorice Beasts to hide in.

And the entire ocean for them to explore.

Think of the wall less like a wall. Think of it more as... quarantine.

March 2020

Not having to show up at school before 1pm. Getting Spotify Premium that morning. Having a private dance party in front of the mirror.

Lena’s new apartment. I envy her garden. But we had a nice afternoon playing board games, eating my salty peanut cookies and going for a walk. Side note: the flower bouquet on the table; full red tulips and freesias with purple accents.

Small books that actually fit into my handbag. I usually have one of these at hand so I can always take a book with me even when I don’t want to bring my backpack.

Sarah Andersen’s comic Fangs. The werewolf is exactly my type…

Strawberries with coconut yoghurt, hemp seeds and cacao nibs.

Astor lip butter in Dewy Plum. Cherry red nails.

Getting Spotify premium. Listening to David Bowie and Frank Zappa (also I just got Zappa’s Baby Snakes T-shirt). Tuning out the noise. Dancing at the bus stop.

These unreal, elevated experiences I keep having. Sometimes it feels a bit like synesthia but mostly it’s quick thinking, associations, a flow of ideas or stream of consciousness. Sinking deep into memories and feelings.

Coming up with a really nice topic for art class (metamorphosis/composite beings). Working on a wooden bowl. Making, creating, sketching.

Motivation and excellent mood on a Monday morning.

When the lady sold me a buttered pretzel for 60ct instead of €1.50.

Actually having some kind of conversation in Spanish! At least Lorena was able to guess what I was trying to say. So proud.

Sunny Saturdays in bed surrounded by books.

A really nice sunset in lilac, yellow, rosy pink and blue shades; making rooftops glow.

New woodworking tools. Working on my large limewood bowl and the tiny bird sculpture.

Meeting Merlin at Pub Quiz for the first time. Bonding over our mutual love for woodworking. Geeking out over my new projects and tools.

Reading a graphic novel about Alexander von Humboldt’s journey through South America. Being fascinated by his report of the 1899 Leonids and the corresponding illustrations.

Nice words: parsimonious, persnickety, askance, obstreperous (the last one courtesy of Frank who is currently rereading Moby Dick; the word evokes a mental image of the Moomin character Little My).

A very Taurean Tuesday: deciding to make the best of a 3,5 hour waiting time. Spontaneously deciding to get a massage. Having a snack from Hofpfisterei across the street. Treating myself to a new headband and perfume oil from &otherstories. Onigiri from the little Japanese store in the street behind Isartor. Meeting Manu at the library. Finding really old volumes of the Brockhaus dictionary. Filming a creepy video at the drugstore, spontaneously deciding to make pancakes. Then he gave me weed and put VR goggles on my head. I played Beat Saber for the first time. Mind blown.

The next day we ended up lying in a nest swing together (at the playground near my house) and I showed him some constellations with Sky Map.

Watching an episode of Sailor Moon with hooker-bassist (an evil nickname for Alex); realising the show isn’t actually half-bad. We watched dozens of clips of our favourite series from our childhood that evening and ate weird candy like Center Shock and those little cookie koalas that are sold in a hexagonal box.

Actually giggling upon waking up just because the smell of sun-dried bedclothes is THAT awesome.

Reading about nihilism. Deciding that this could be my thing. Watching The Big Lebowski because it features a trio of nihilists.

Some plants I had already declared dead are actually budding right now. I already forgot what some of them are so I’m in for a surprise.

A very green apartment in São Paulo.

Blooming flowers in time lapse. Gorgeous.

Playing Drawful 2 with the pub quiz gang and Manu. Margit made me realise that I do have in fact a very specific type when it comes to my taste in men when she saw Manu’s photo…

Making a pub quiz for the others - quarantine edition so we played via Discord. I got really drunk on a leftover bottle of red wine from Lena’s and Christian’s wedding which made the Cards Against Humanity round we played afterwards so much more hilarious. Nice references: The Great Cornholio from Beavis and Butthead. And the original video of the Escape Song (Rupert Holmes looks like a middle school biology teacher).

A very easy recipe for vegan apple cake. I also adapted it to raspberry mango cake. Yum!

Chocolate covered pretzels. I love my snacks sweet AND savoury at the same time.

A spontaneous little yoga mat picnic with Manu on the grass behind the St. Andreas church. We practised the cup song and recorded it but after an hour we were asked to leave by the police. Apparently it isn’t allowed to sit down anymore. Oh but we managed to amuse a little girl who was chasing our soap bubbles.

A very decadent first breakfast course: a skewer with strawberries dipped in milk chocolate. Poking constellations into the styrofoam with the tip of the wooden stick.
