Respectively, maximum brightness decreases in this mode up to color brightness. ViewMatch and Film (Rec.709) modes do not use BrilliantColor (BrilliantColor value=1). Thus, the dynamic mode is designed for less darkened rooms; Standard and Film (Rec.709) modes are optimal for rooms with good dimming. ViewSonic Pro7827HD demonstrates an excellent level of "honest" contrast ratio for this segment (measurement method-full on/full off ). It reaches 1300:1 in the film (Rec.709) mode. Projector supports sRGB and Rec.709 color standards, has ISF certified calibration mode and a special profile for movies. As known, certified calibration (ISF- Imaging Science Research) provides an almost perfect picture.

Moreover, acoustic system with a power of 10 W provides a very clear sound with SonicExpert technology. Sound tract uses a modern sound-emitter, providing high sound quality with an optimum sound response. The audio system is configured in Sonic Mode. Projector also uses SuperColor technology to extend the color range. SuperColor RGBRGB technology provides a very realistic image due to excellent display of color gradients. The RGBRGB color wheel in conjunction with dynamic lamp control ensures acceptably high image quality even at bright enough lighting.

Pros & Cons

Unfortunately, ViewSonic Pro7827HD has the rainbow effect, which is present in almost all single-matrix DLP projectors. As known, this effect forms red-green artifacts along the contour of high contrast objects.

Unfortunately, the six-segment RGBRGB color wheel compensates it incompletely. Bright subtitles sometimes also provoke this effect. Service life of the lamp varies from 3500 to 6500 hours. This corresponds to about five years of operation with a daily two-hour viewing. A sufficiently short throw lens provides a throw ratio of 1,1: 1. Projector has optical zoom of 1.3x and Vertical Lens Shift with adjustment range of 20% of the image height. Model provides 100" screen diagonal at a distance from 8,5 to 11 ft (2,6 - 3,3 meters). High accuracy of the color rendering in the Film (Rec.709) mode does not require additional setting. Projector also has a simple and convenient manual adjustment of the white balance. PROS - high brightness; - very high contrast ratio; -SonicExpert technology; -ISF calibration support; - wide color gamut; - SuperColor RGBRGB color wheel; - superb black level; - high stability of color temperature; - high color accuracy and good sRGB colors without additional adjustments; - almost perfect image after calibration; - HDMI / MHL connectors. CONS - rainbow effect in darkened scenes with high contrast; - too large an input lag in games; - uneven luminous flux; - sufficiently high noise level of the fan; - average service life of lamp; - power consumption reaches 350 W. Analogico o Digitale?

Con l’avvento delle moderne macchine fotografiche digitali con sensori elettronici e memoria integrata/estraibile, il mondo della fotografia ha subito un radicale cambiamento dal punto di vista dell’approccio alla foto stessa. 

Facendo un po’ di storia, la prima fotocamera a pellicola, e quindi analogica, venne realizzata dalla ditta Kodak nel 1888. Lo slogan con il quale la Kodak si accaparrò la nomea di leader indiscusso recitava “Voi premete il pulsante, noi facciamo il resto”, possiamo affermare con certezza che quello fu il momento nel quale la fotografia divenne fruibile per tutti.

Dobbiamo aspettare il 1981 per veder sorgere il primo modello di fotocamera digitale in grado di memorizzare le informazioni su memoria esterna, che, presentata dalla Sony, era in grado di acquisire le immagini immagazzinandole in floppy disk. 

Dal 1981, ovvero dal lancio della prima digitale, l’evoluzione della fotocamera ha via via spodestato l’utilizzo della pellicola, facendolo scomparire quasi del tutto. Fortunatamente, come spesso accade, la tradizione prevarica sull’innovazione, e proprio grazie a questo aspetto, la fotografia analogica, è riuscita ad arrivare, anche se in maniera claudicante, fino ai giorni nostri. La pellicola ed il sensore CCD, ovvero il circuito stampato grazie al quale le moderne fotocamere digitali riescono a elaborare le immagini, non sono poi così dissimili. Analizzando la classica pellicola, possiamo asserire che i “pixel” sono formati da milioni di grani fotosensibili posati su una striscia di plastica.

Quando questi grani vengono colpiti dalla luce subiscono una reazione chimica, che successivamente, in fase di sviluppo, utilizzando agenti chimici e sviluppatori coloranti, eccitano i grani abbinandogli la tinta corretta. Processo quasi identico, senonché digitale, avviene con il sensore CCD. In questo caso, al posto di avere una pellicola fisica, si hanno sopra un circuito stampato, innumerevoli stringhe formate da semiconduttori (abbinabili ai grani della pellicola) che “leggeranno” l’informazione luminosa e la tradurranno in un dato numerico, leggibile come colore.

In sostanza i due processi sono del quasi tutto simili, a differenza del fatto che nel primo caso il procedimento è integralmente di tipo analogico mentre nel secondo vi è la totalità del digitale. 

Giungiamo ora alla domanda cruciale, cosa è meglio? Analogico o digitale? Per rispondere a questa domanda dovremmo analizzare una sfilza infinita di pro e contro, perciò darò una mia conclusione personale. Parlando dell’analogico e quindi della cara e vecchia pellicola l’assunto da citare è quello relativo alla storia e all’affezione. Preparazione, attesa, sviluppo, esitazione durante lo scatto, contatto con la storia, il non poter vedere il risultato in anteprima, la consapevolezza di non poter rifare quello scatto, tutte sensazioni che ne fanno di questo mix la bandiera della vera fotografia, quella storica, quella vera. Impugnando una digitale, non si potranno mai provare queste emozioni. 

C’è da ammettere però, che proprio questa combinazioni di variabili (spesso viste in maniera negativa) ha fatto accrescere la popolarità delle digitali. Dal punto di vista economico, l’acquisto di pellicole e il successivo sviluppo, richiedono un esborso non indifferente di denaro, cosa che il digitale non richiede. L’anteprima istantanea ti permette di scegliere se rifare la foto, o scattarla con parametri diversi, riuscendo a catturare nel momento desiderato ciò che si inquadra senza dover attendere. Purtroppo, altro punto sfavorevole per le analogiche, è quello della risoluzione. Per quanto una macchina analogica possa essere prestazionale, la risoluzione non potrà mai competere con una digitale. 

La rapidità e la facilità d’uso unite alla sfera economica hanno conclamato il netto successo delle digitali a dispetto delle analogiche. Fortunatamente negli ultimi anni, sta tornando di moda la instax più amata di sempre, la Polaroid, analogica per eccellenza e cult indiscusso.

Sperando che questo exploit non si esaurisca a breve confermandosi l’ennesima moda passeggera, confido nel fatto che le fotocamere analogiche continueranno ad esistere per mantenere viva la storia della vera fotografia.
