Hi guys,
You remember Sycra, that fantastic person that taught you the coil method with foreshortening? From what I can tell, Scyra's channel has had some issues with hacking and has since been taken down. Here's a link to a channel dedicated on backing up those videos.
And here's a link to where I found this out:

A Big Collection of Art Tutorials
I find art tutorials really useful and also, sometimes quite far-flung. I'll come across one cool resource here and another incredibly helpful post in a totally different place, months later. I've been collecting bits and pieces of art advice that ease my way for a long time now, and I wanted to make a post to share some of the good art resources I've come found all in one place! GENERAL RESOURCES The Etherington Bros. have an enormous repertoire of drawing advice on their blog and I find almost all of it spot on! Griz and Norm have an incredible tumblr chock full of tutorials!
Drawing Den is a great tumblr that collects how-to-draw resources! Zephy.fr has some lovely free tutorials on their Insta (their main site is paid, but I've found the free resources to be quite helpful all on their own)
Sycra has a truly wonderful YT channel comprising a zillion vids on practically every topic - he's been going a long time and it's all excellent (his stuff on human anatomy and figure really fixed some difficulties for me)! DRAWING PEOPLE THIS is my favorite basic breakdown on expressions! A HELPFUL WAY to conceptualize drawing hair! People are complex - simplifying with CLEAR SILHOUETTE helps!
Aging or de-aging characters can be rough- THIS HELPS imo! WHEELCHAIRS are easy to get wrong if you don't have one/haven't studied how to draw them - and this is a very helpful remedy!
CLOTHES Hats are difficult to get sitting right and THIS POST helps a lot!
Suits and formal clothing can be A Lot: THIS LAYS IT OUT helpfully!
Historical Menswear is tricky: TRY THIS LINK by Shoomlah
And as always.... DON'T FORGET TO STRETCH YOUR HANDS!!!
(this makes a big difference in the long run, I can't emphasize enough that you oughta try a little stretching on the regular!)

Apperantly Sycras channel got hijacked and in turn taken down since the hijackers were doing some kind of crypto-scam. The worst thing about this, besides the fact that this guy lost his channel without any fault of his own or one of the best educational channels on drawing being gone, is that youtube wont’ do shit because he has less than 1M subscribers. WTF?! I remember a time where this was an astronomical number only few had yet reached and youtube actually gave at least a bit of shit about its creators but now... now it seems that if your’re not responsible for at least 1% of their yearly profit you’re on your own.
check out his IG he has some sick ass art there

It's infuriating to see that Sycra still doesn't have his channel back and YouTube won't help him at all. his videos helped and motivated me so much when I first started doing art and this whole situation is just so sad...

really digging Sycra's youtube channel because it feels like one of the few "here's some art advice" things that isn't obviously trying to sell me something

Hi! I really like your stuff! If u don’t mind me asking where do u learn art? Like as a self taught artist I can never find good resources! Do u have any websites or cool learning hacks plz share!!!
heyo!! thank you so much! my personal art style was developed through a lot of inspiration from a lot of artists i referred to... (shiyoon kim, milt kahl, so many more)!
however if we are talking about digital painting, one thing that helped me so much was actually learning to paint traditionally (if possible). you can apply so many principles from traditional painting to coloring digitally.
i highly rec sinix's youtube channel! i used to binge all of his anatomy and painting videos :)
don't try to stick to strict rules while painting! always remember to have fun, experiment, and do what feels right to YOU. you'll learn so many shortcuts and simplifications on the way.
also for the love of god, gesture drawings! i'll attach links for websites i use (there's a lot of good stuff on pinterest as well). i've been doing this for almost 2 years now! there's so many vids on yt on gesture and flow as well. sycra's video on foreshortening was a game changer for me.
line-of-action.com
reference.sketchdaily.net
i have a lot of resources listed under the "art advice" tag!

Everyone who draws knows sycras channel.
it was hacked by some bitcoin fucks and has yet to be reinstated by youtube.
sinix made a video about it but i think more people should say something to @teamyoutube on the remnants of twitter.
or else all those videos might be lost, and sycra would have to endure a legal battle to regain it.

i know this is like A Very Common Question for artists but i was looking through your art again and i gotta ask (because still i really like your style). from where exactly did you like Learn to draw? or what are your main inspirations on your style and shit
First of all THANK you for looking through my art THANK YOU it makes my smile widen THA KS.
Second of all yea my biggest art-head I look up to in every way is Sycra from YouTube, they're probably THE BEST Helpful art channel on the entire website and literally everything I ever do art-wise is thanks to him. If you've ever had a problem drawing and need help HES ANSWERED IT. WITH AN ENTIRE VIDEO. The most helpful one I'll probably link once I'm done here is his foreshortening video, its probably the most helpful art advice I've ever gotten
Tldr; he has a very analytical approach to art and isn't afraid to show his mistakes, and being able to see his mistakes helps to more understand an artistic technique than pretty much all the other "art help" channels out there, he's like a hidden gospel that helps IMMENSELY, then again everything's subjective it's not for everyone abcd yea.
As far as like, purely artistic though, I'm bad with names so I can't think of anyone else specific tee hee, but if you wanted i could make like, a pdf or a discord for a bunch of PNGS of art I like if that's up your alley
It could be like, everyone can have their own art gallery of art they like, and if you like someone's taste you can save their specific channel, something like that
Anyways this is really long oopsies I'll stop now

Did you ever take any art courses or are there any online resources that you could recommend for someone just starting out? 🥺 Love your work btw 💞
I studied graphic design at university after I graduated high school. As for art courses I attended one when I was in elementary school, but the rest of it is purely self-taught from drawing many anime fanart 😂 There are many channels on youtube that I think are good for beginners like Sycra's channel and Synix's channel!
I hope this helps and thank you very much 😊!

This is how I felt after watching Good Omens S2...
Hi! It's my first post and I honestly don't know what I'm doing. I'm just wanted to find platforms where I can share my art which is mostly sketches and scribbles. Hopefully they make you laugh or feel something at least.
In these drawings I used a coiling foreshortening technique I learned about in a video called "How to Draw: Foreshortening with the Coil Technique" by Sycra. I'm not very good at it, but I was able to get these down a lot faster than usual.
Link to video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJWLaDSNBAI&list=PL3dxJhxWkhm0_C8e0yGdO3PIHitNfZeiT&index=5&t=1s
Sycra gives very good tips, so I highly recommend his channel.
I hope everyone has a good day!

SYCRA IS BACK! so glad to see his channel has been recovered after being hacked a few months back. this is a great video from about a year ago where he talks about viewing your own work as if you were helping someone else on their work. i've found it much easier to give others advice than work on my own work, so this really hits home for me!

So apparently Sycra's YouTube channel has been deleted. His channel posted really informative, in-depth videos on anatomy for artists without charge -a completely free, high quality education just ripped away from people due to no fault of his own (bitcoin scammers hacked his channel and YouTube won't help him because he didn't have 1 million+ subscribers). @youtube fix it please. He's been a longtime creator and helped so many artists and is a breath of fresh air amidst your watered down, corporatised bs.

I just found out about Sycra's channel being hijacked and wiped off of YouTube. And of course YouTube did jack shit to help him. Wish I could say that's surprising
