Bethe finally played a decisive part in the ultimate production of the bomb he himself so feared and hated because of his outstanding erudition and systematic work.

Right so what if Danny became a psychologist instead of Jazz?
His friends and family died protecting him. So when he runs away and starts a new life, he adopts traits from all of them (both as a way of grieving and a way to honor them). For Tucker and Sam, Danny splits his free time between being a white hat hacker and a vocal environmental activist. For his parents, he adopts more of their eccentric personality. When he's not in a professional setting, he is loud and in your face about the latest thing he's been working on (he's also just about the most loyal person you can meet).
And for Jazz, his precious big sister, Danny decides to excel in the career path she never got the chance to enter. He resolves to fulfill her goal of helping out those society has deemed irredeemable. The ones nobody else can or wants to help. The first one he starts with, is the Joker.
Could we please all keep in mind that the concept of "The Jews In General, or A Specific Type Of Jew, Controls Education, Government, Media, and/or Banking", is a longstanding antisemitic trope?
And most of all, that it is false??
No, a marginalized group does not also control education, the government, the media, and/or banking?
No, Jews do not secretly control these things and just pretend to be marginalized? No, Jews have not secretly been accumulating power since the Holocaust, granted by too-generous gentiles, out of pity?
No, it isn't better if you just mean a specific subgroup or kind of Jews. It's still specifically Jews.
It's like when people who hate trans/queer people are fine with rich white cis gay men. So they think it's not bigoted to blame "people with blue hair and pronouns" for the downfall of society.
We all know this means, "I only see some of you as human like me. You have to speak and act a certain way to count. Everyone in your group has to pass a test to get into the Good group."
Doesn't work.
Sure, it gives them plausible deniability to the people who matter to them. But everyone else can see exactly how they feel.
We've all known for years that it's bad to think of a marginalized group as having some "good ones." Rein it the heck in, please.
Because YES, all of those examples are ones I've seen implied, or stated outright, over and over, within the progressive community. This month alone.
btw i think alec genuinely unironically maintains that the heartbroken household was not homophobic because no one actually physically stopped him from extensive sexual interest in and/or interaction with men and in fact it was at times encouraged (which is normal and not 'grooming' he doesn't even know what the word 'grooming' means don't look at him so funny it's fine) and if you brought up the thing where he kept getting mocked 4 being a little gaylord by his older siblings he would be like. Its fine. They were just kidding around, that's chill. which is part of why he's the way he is now
You know, I feel like purgatory would have been a perfect setting for Hazbin Hotel because it's a place people go to before final judgement or death.
YES!! Every time I look into the lore and setting of H4zbin/H3lluva, I wonder why this wasn’t something that was utilized. It would’ve added not only a lot of nuance to Charlie and her motivations, whether or not it took place directly in purgatory or not. If they had remained in hell, purgatory could’ve been an interesting wrinkle in her plan, or something that would’ve explained why all of the angels, not just the exterminators, are so uncaring towards sinners (the idea of “if you deserved a chance you would’ve gotten it).
Or, if Charlie had started the hotel in purgatory, then there could’ve been questions about why a princess of hell wanted to help them. Maybe purgatory is as corrupt as Heaven or Hell, and Charlie’s work is meant to be a criticism of the way institutions meant to help may not actually provide any real support. But the show side steps even mentioning working with these ideas that could’ve given much needed depth to the first ring of Hell.
And To clarify my thought from my last post, I think H4zbin would’ve been better served with a setting akin to magical realism, while maybe borrowing some biblical elements to explain where characters got their powers or legacies from. This would’ve removed a lot of the baggage these biblically based characters come with, making so the characters could’ve just been the characters without us questioning why certain elements aren’t addressed (i.e. Adam, Lucifer, Lilith, etc.).
There’s been a push to make workplaces more accepting of neurodivergence or mental illness recently and that’s great, honestly, but there’s one thing about it that has me frustrated.
I really dislike all the emphasis on the person who is neurodivergent or mentally ill to do so much of the work.
Like in some ways it makes sense: the people who need the changes should be the ones in charge. But sometimes it feels like the good idea that “the people who are margalized should have the largest voice in the room” gets used as “and if those marginalized are having a rough time, well they should have just disclosed their situation.”
It feels like the blame goes from “society is ableist/unaccepting of diffeeence” to “if you had just SAID SO well it would be fine!” Without considering the many very good reasons people might not want to speak up. Stigma has gotten better but it’s not gone.
You can add all the stress balls and wellness seminars into your workspace as you want, but for me personally, that doesn’t mean jack shit if the only way I MAYBE can get slight flex in my lunch hours for doctors appointments is to disclose my mental illness to not only my Supervisor, but my Boss and HR. You can add in discounts to Yoga class, but if the only talk of mental stuff in a workplace is about hypothetical “other” people, can I really be blamed for not exactly wanting to play those cards?
Is it really my fault that I don’t want to label myself when that label might become the first thing people associate me with?
I’m not saying people shouldn’t do those things like get accommodations: they absolutely should and I hope no one has to fight for them. I can get defeatist at times and I want to be very clear that getting what you need is worth it and if anyone gives you shit, they’re dicks. I just wish that that more concrete policies to help people who are neurodivergent or mentally ill didn’t require folks to share what they might not be ready to talk about.
And that if that isn’t possible, to not act like the only barrier to acceptance in the workplace is created by those who need it the most.
okay the red mist has cleared from my eyes LOL re: prev post, obviously this is talking abt people who don't empathise with why artists are mad abt their art being used to train models.
i think it IS really interesting to think abt a better world where the development of ai art was started in collaboration with artists - sort of like a, hey! would you allow your art to be used to develop this cool thing we're making? or maybe work in collaboration with developers, to draw art for the model to use. almost like a wikipedia "moderated public collaboration" approach? of course, in this ideal world, traditional artists would only feel comfortable to do this with proper labor laws preceding any agreement, which would provide us with dignity and security.
back in the real imperfect world, i do want to seriously consider next steps into how we can adapt to this developing technology and to push for labor/data privacy laws. as well as try understand and maybe work with programmers who do want to develop generative ai in collaboration with artists.
i think the genius vs hard worker thing with neji was kind of dumb bc like. its not a dichotomy with neji. like his talent at being a ninja never made it straight up easy for him? like he still canonically worked incredibly hard and overcame a lot of challenges institutional and otherwise to become "the strongest genin in konoha" so like. idk. like of course he did have the advantages of a powerful kekkai genkai and was naturally talented but naruto vs neji makes it seem like a "hard work vs natural ability" thing when neji a) worked incredibly hard actually to master the hyuga jutsus that were forbidden to him, just recreating them On His Own through observing his uncle and then practicing really fucking hard with tenten, and b) naruto didnt even fucking win through hard work???? he won because he has a convenient store of infinite chakra? ULTIMATELY BECAUSE OF WHO HE WAS BORN AS (minato and kushina's son)? so like???? its so fucking stupid lol. like naruto vs neji is framed as this Elitist vs Underdog fight and like. idk. that framing is soooo unfair when you get down to it because it's ultimately "systematically oppressed kid who worked hard but was helped by being talented" vs "inherited human nuke"
The vtuber enjoyer community is currently learning why multi-channel networks didn't work back in the old days of YouTube, except in the present day it's somehow even more fucked because the companies also own their channels and revenue sources and IP.
i always forget people namesearch themselves + assume after a certain point people simply don't care which i really should have learned is just not true by now. but still one of the worst jumpscares/funniest things to have happened to me online was a few years ago when i complained about not liking this book by a poet and he hatefollowed me. anyway. thinking about that again because i was tempted to complain but this tumblr is googlable atm for i'm trying to find things here myself reasons. complaining about dead people's work only for now it is. i can do this. i can.
