EDIT:
It hurts me to see Whisper of the Heart and The Tale of the Princess Kaguya so underrated :(
EDIT 2:
I’M SORRY FOR NOT PUTTING NAUSICAA GUYS😭😭 I’ve never seen that one!!
EDIT 3:
Guys, stop getting mad at me. I can only put 12 options!
*sighhhhh*
We have a winner..
I’m gonna be honest.. I’m not a huge fan of HMC. Like, I respect it animation wise, music wise, and I can tell a lot of passion went into it. But I don’t care for it. It’s a big mess tbh
But.. congratulations to Howl’s Moving Castle.

Should clarify that by "Miyazaki" I'm referring to Hayao Miyazaki and not G***. I couldn't fit Earwig and the Witch on the list due to poll limits, but I have a feeling no one would vote for it anyway (feel free to correct me in the tags if I'm wrong).
Please reblog for a larger sample size.

one of my mom's favorite tactics when I was growing up was to shame me into doing things her way by convincing me that everyone did it her way and I was stupid/weird/incorrect for trying to do it a different way
and while this is a shitty and extremely manipulative way of doing things, when it backfired, it made HER look like a massive asshole
one of mom's biggest pet peeves was that I wouldn't flip my socks the right way out before putting them in the dirty laundry basket. I would rather do it when I was putting them on, but mom would get SO MAD about this and actually would make me sit down and go through my dirty laundry and flip every sock the right way out sometimes. Like, this was a legitimate punishment chore that she assigned me when she was feeling especially high and mighty.
We fought about this for YEARS, until one day when I was about 16. My parents had hired a family friend to come tutor me in math, and once a tutoring session happened to be scheduled for the evening of a day when I had come home from school and gotten in a big fight with my mom about my socks, again. So my mom, of course, sees this as an opportunity to try and shame me into doing things her way.
"Caity," she said, "when you do laundry, do you turn your socks the right way out as soon as you take them off?"
And my wonderful, wonderful tutor, who had no idea that this had been an ongoing argument in my house for over a decade, smiled at my mother and said "oh, no! I just turn them the right way out when I go to put them on again after they're clean"
Mom hasn't said a WORD to me about my socks in the decade since then 😂
