Well, I did it, folks! I finished Emergency!
I have so much I want to say about this show. First, I finally understand what people mean when they say they have a comfort show! I affectionately think of it as my Silly Little Show About Paramedics. I loved the characters. I love how it successfully pulled off episodes on the serious side, and lighthearted ones. And—this is absolutely not surprising—I adored Johnny and Roy’s friendship. There’s so much more I could say about this show, and probably will. I was very surprised to see how much content there is here for a show that came out over 50 years ago and look forward to becoming an active part of this fandom :)
It wouldn’t feel right to make a post about emergency! without mentioning michael norell. i hope his loved ones are receiving so much support right now. i teared up reading through the comments on his obituary and seeing how many people were inspired by his performance as captain stanley. i hope he knew how many people he inspired and continues to inspire. i hope everyone involved in the show knows how many people they inspired. this show came out 32 years before i was born and yet it’s become one of my favorites. i’m so happy it’s a part of my life. if you haven’t watch emergency! you absolutely should. and if you have then…watch it again. that’s what i’m doing because i’m not through loving my Silly Little Show About Paramedics just yet.

The Star Wars prequels are infinitely funnier if you think of them as one big family drama. Yoda’s kid/obi-wan’s grandfather has decided ‘you know what? I’m evil now and I won’t hesitate to kill my family’ and cuts off his youngest grandson’s hand and is eventually killed by said grandson. Flash forward three years and obi-wan finds out that his little brother is also evil now and great grandfather yoda is like ‘that sucks guess you’ve got to kill him!’ But it doesn’t work so ten more years later obi-wan is fighting his brother again and this would probably be a lot easier if their ghost dad would just pick up the phone and this is only a fraction of the insanity this family is up to. what were any of them doing

So I watched the kenobi bts and I'm having many incoherent thoughts about it but one thing that I really, really liked is how much love everyone involved had for these characters and their story. The point of the series was to show Obi-Wan's emotional journey between rots and anh and so much work was put into doing this correctly. The cast and crew absolutely delivered, and it was just amazing to see so many people care so much about this little part of the star wars story.

Every so often I make myself very sad by thinking about how proud Padmé and Anakin would have been of Luke and Leia. They were both so similar to their parents and yet their own people and I know they would have loved them so much.

perhaps my favorite thing about the star wars fandom is people seriously trying to explain obi wan's rapid aging between the prequels and a new hope and not just accepting that he's played by two different people and star wars content is not coming out in anything close to a logical order.

Making assumptions based on your favorite BAU member
Hotch-You wish he was your dad, think he’s hot, or love to see men suffer. Most likely all three. The fact that you can understand this man indicates that you needed therapy years ago.
Reid-You’re either neurodivergent, gay, think he’s hot, or love to see men suffer. If it’s the last one you’re probably also a hotch stan. There are no other options, it’s always one of those four.
Garcia-You want to be her best friend and think she’s the coolest person ever, because she is. You would overthrow the government if given the chance.
Morgan-You either think he’s very hot or very underrated, and could write an entire essay on either of those things.
Rossi-You only pay attention to the two moments on the show when he wasn’t being insufferable and ignore everything else. You wish he was your grandfather. You cooka da meatball.
JJ-You’re either a)gay or b) love liason jj but hate profiler jj. There is no in between.
Prentiss-You’re gay
Blake-You wish she was your mom and also think she’s hot. Congrats! You’re probably gay.
Elle-You think girls should get to be a little evil sometimes, as a treat. You have said “I hate all men,” and called someone a “girlboss” unironically.
Gideon-You just think he’s neat 🥰
Tara-She’s pretty and intimidating and you’re Into That
Luke-Most likely a reid and/or Garcia stan. You like that he has a dog.
Matt-You think he and/or his wife are hot. You’re obsessed with the fact that he has 80 kids and know nothing else about him.

The thing about Jeid is I don’t necessarily have an issue with it as a concept. I very much don’t ship JJ and Reid but if other people do, it’s fine. What I do have an issue with is the fact that it— in some terribly executed, nonsensical and convoluted way—happened in canon.

Thinking about the fact that Diana asked William to take Spencer with him when he left and he said no. I can’t imagine what hearing your father say clearly and unambiguously that you’re unwanted must do to a child.

Morgan and Luke are part of the Penelope Garcia Protection Squad (PGPS), an unofficial exclusive group dedicated to the happiness and protection of Penelope Garcia. She doesn’t know it’s a thing, but it’s the reason Morgan comes over when she’s having a bad day (Luke asked him to surprise her), and it’s how Luke knows exactly what to get for her birthday without even asking her.

Once Garcia and Reid find out how into comics Jack is, they tell Hotch he and Jack should join them at comic con that year. Hotch reluctantly agrees and fully intends to go in his polo-shirt-khaki-pants dad outfit until Reid and Garcia Jack convinces him to cosplay, so he—less reluctantly than he’d like to admit— does.
(He goes as Batman).
And he has so much fun the first time that going to comic con becomes a yearly tradition for he and jack, and it’s one of the times Hotch feels closest to him.

Here’s a short little thing I wrote late last night. Warning for mention of addiction.
-
It’s two o’clock in the morning.
It’s two in the morning and Spencer Reid is pacing around his apartment.
It’s two in the morning and Spencer is pacing around his apartment because he feels anxious and hopeless.
The anxiety is nothing new; he’s contended with that his whole life.
The hopelessness, though, is something he only began to experience 14 days ago, when Emily Prentiss died.
Maybe the hopelessness makes the anxiety worse.
He can’t stand feeling like this.
His phone is upturned on the table, the screen displaying an old number he hasn’t dialed in years.
All he has to do is hit the call button.
He’s seconds away from doing it, seconds away from jumping in head first and leaving years of sobriety behind.
At the last minute, he hesitates.
He hesitates, then dials another number.
Derek picks up.
Thank God.
Twenty minutes later Derek is at Spencer’s apartment, and as soon as he opens his door Derek wraps him in a hug.
The dam breaks and Spencer cries. They both do.
“I miss her so much,” Spencer says. “I don’t think I can take it.”
“I know,” Derek replies. “But we’ll get through this together, okay?”

Do you think Reid ever talked to Elle again?
Shortly after Hankel, he tried calling her. She doesn’t pick up, so he leaves a voicemail. She’ll probably never get it, but he needs to tell her that he understands. He understands what it’s like to be hurt. He understands what it’s like to be abandoned by those who are supposed to take care of you. He understands what it’s like when no one notices how much you’re struggling. He understands what it’s like to be completely and utterly alone.
And he understands why she left the BAU, because he’s thinking about leaving, too.

I’ve never seen a character as multifaceted as Hannibal Lector. He cooks? He writes music? He draws? He’s a psychiatrist?? He kills people??? Literally no one is doing it like him.
