"I'll never leave you." + your choice!

“I’ll never leave you,” Julie said. She put as much sincerity and love into those four words as she could because all that mattered right then was making sure that Flynn believed her. “I promise you. You’re my best friend, Flynn, and I don’t ever want to lose you.”

“I know that,” Flynn said. She rolled her eyes, but Julie didn’t miss the tears threatening to spill from them anyway. “I know that in my head. But Jules, ever since this all kicked off, it feels like I don’t really have a place with you anymore. I can’t see the guys and communicating through writing on a whiteboard isn’t the same as talking to them. You’ve all been spending more and more time rehearsing and recording your songs, and even though I’m there I’m not involved, you know? And now that you’ve got your official new manager, I don’t even have that! When do we even see each other anymore, Julie? It feels like it’s been forever.”

“I’m sorry,” Julie said, and she meant it.

“That’s the thing,” Flynn said exasperatedly. “You don’t have anything to be sorry for. You’re being successful and getting all the recognition you deserve. And I’m so happy for you and so, so proud of you, Jules. But I miss you. I’m the one being selfish here.”

“You’re not being selfish,” Julie insisted, fighting a losing battle with her own tears. “I get it. I… I know we haven’t seen as much of each other lately. I know I’ve had a lot of time taken up with the band and I need to make time for you as well. I miss you too, Flynn. Us spending less time together isn’t anyone’s fault, it’s just… an unfortunate consequence that we will find a way around. We always do. We make things work, we’re good at stuff like that.”

For the first time, Flynn cracked a small smile. “We are good at that, aren’t we?”

“We’re good at it because we do it together,” Julie said, taking both of Flynn’s hands in hers. “We make an amazing team, we always have and we always will.”

“We’re Double Trouble,” Flynn said proudly.

“I still never agreed to that name,” Julie reminded her. Flynn just rolled her eyes again, playfully this time. “But really, listen to me, Flynn. Even though things are very up in the air at the moment, I’m still not leaving you behind. Ever. I need you in my life and I always will.”

Flynn practically leapt at her then, enveloping her in a hug so tight she could hardly breathe.

“I need you in my life too, Jules. Love you.”

“Love you too.”

oooo finn is a tough one, I didn't really consider many other fcs before picking kiana madeira, and parts of finn are inspired by her faceclaim, so finn (as she is now) probably wouldn't exist without kiana

I hope you feel better soon! I have this headcanon that Alex are sort of like the 'mom' friend of the group and that Alex keeps things in his fanny pack that Julie might need (hair ties, tissues or make up removal)! I also like this headcanon that it's usually Reggie who can calm Alex down if he's super anxious.

Yes yes YES I love this so much. Alex’s fanny pack is like a Mary Poppins bag, no one has any idea how he packs so much stuff in there (it’s all to do with his very specific organisational system he has for it). He also keeps safety pins, a mini first aid kit, nail files, four pairs of sunglasses (one for each band member), and a small book of stickers that he can half-jokingly reward his friends with when he feels like it

I love that idea! I think Reggie wouldn’t even realise he’s doing it sometimes. Alex would get used to hiding his anxiety and pretending he’s fine to the point where it’s pretty convincing, so sometimes when Alex is anxious, Reggie could come in the room and be like “yeah I might have forgotten it’s bad to put metal in the microwave” and because it’s Reggie being Reggie it calms Alex down a lot. But also, like in Edge of Great, Reggie is really good at being reassuring and talking Alex down when he starts to spiral
