The absolute naturalness of their relationship
I'm not the only one who had definite thoughts on Karga's words, am I? Alcohol for a special occasion? Wait for a smaller gathering? What could he mean by that? 👀
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like the idea that everyone already knows what's going on between the two of them, whether it's Din's group, the group of the former mercanaries, or Karga. I like that they are just together without much explanation or romantic hints.
We can agree that Grogu is the one Din cares the most about. And where can we find the child? It's now taken for granted that he is physically close to Bo as he is to Din. Or he is between the two. All the interactions already seem like family, like they grew together naturally.
Where she goes, Din goes and where Din goes Grogu goes, it's just that simple. I think that's the most affection Din Djarin ever showed to anyone and perhaps, in his head, that's what it means to be in a serious relationship with someone.
Tumblr media
Remember the Mandalorian vow. It's just simple and pragmatic without big words or sentiments:
We are one when together, we are one when parted.
And they are, currently they're mostly together since Bo-Katan followed Din to Mandalore. But that will now be put to the test now that Din has been captured.
We will share all.
Neither Din nor Bo-Katan are very open personalities, they both have had very traumatic experiences, including losing their families. But they've started to open up to each other and to others just by spending time together. They share their time together and they begin to share parts of themselves that have been long kept closed inside them.
We will raise warriors.
They already showed in the episode The foundling that Din started to train Grogu and of course Bo was at her side. But she didn't just stand by, she actively supported and reassured Grogu. Nothing an aunt or family friend would do. She takes an active part in Grogu's upbringing and is therefore not called mummy by everyone for nothing.
Mandalorian vow.
Thank you for this wonderful GIFs and make sure to show some love to: @cal-kestis @bo-katankryzc and @itberice

Here I fixed it y’all:
Paz lay face down on the ground for a long time, wondering if he was doomed to die by suffocation by his own damn jet pack. The sharp pain had long since faded to a dull ache. Just as he felt like he was ready to help move things along, he heard voices.
Voices speaking Mando’a. He heard a gasp.
“ - Nevarro al’verde,” a woman’s voice said.
Someone knelt next to him and pulled his cowl down. Then two ice-cold fingers found his pulse. His body twitched involuntarily.
“He’s alive!” she called out.
A leather bag thudded onto the ground in front of him. He recognized the concentrated bacta. A black gloved hand started withdrawing vials and inserting them into a hypo spray.
“Watch the perimeter,” she said. “I’ll get him stable enough to move. Then we can treat him aboard one of the ships.”
A man’s voice answered in the affirmative as the woman worked. Paz felt the first injection. It burned worse than his stab wounds and he gasped involuntarily.
“It’s alright, al’verde,” the woman’s voice said soothingly. “You’ll have to reschedule your trip to the Manda for another day.”
A couple more injections. His skin sizzled as it was forcefully healed and cauterized from the inside out. Even though the concentrated bacta numbed the pain from his wounds, it didn’t numb the pain of it coursing through him. He grit his teeth and closed his eyes and groaned. It was literally frying the nerves at the surface to make it so he could function.
“It’ll burn for a little longer,” the woman said in that same gentle tone. “Just breathe and we’ll have you home in no time.”
He flinched when he heard the sound of tape being ripped off the roll. It didn’t sound like medical tape. It actually sounded like the tape he used to hold his ship together. Fuck, this shit was going to hurt worse coming back off.
The woman’s hands shook as she pinched his wounds shut and applied the tape to the still open wounds. At least he was no longer bleeding, and he would be stable until they could get him to an actual doctor. She wrapped around the tape tightly to keep it from coming back off.
“You’ll be home soon,” she repeated, though he suspected that she was saying it more to herself than him. “You’ll get to see your boy again. What’s his name?”
He slurred Ragnar’s name through his dry, chapped lips. It was unintelligible, but she made the appropriate noises of understanding.
“I saw him practicing with some of the other little ones,” she said. “He will be a fine warrior one day.”
He grunted in agreement.
She stabbed him again with even more bacta. This time, it itched. Terribly. It felt like his muscles itched on the inside and his fingers twitched. But at least the pain disappeared completely, leaving him woozy and light-headed. She had given him something really good for the pain.
“We haven’t got much time,” the woman said, “We have to get out of here. We are going to carry you out, but we are going to need to leave your jet pack and weapon behind, alright?”
He was ecstatic that he had been found. The thought of seeing his son again made tears pool up in his eyes. They fell against the inside of his bucket as the woman removed his jet pack.
Then they turned him over. The two Nite Owls then heaved him up. Paz grunted as the tape pulled, but it thankfully held. He swayed as the ground rocked under his unsteady feet. Two pairs of arms wrapped around him as they hurried down the hallways. He was delirious but soon he could smell fresh air. Freedom. Sunlight. He turned to look at the one who had saved his life.
Pretty. She was so pretty. Just as she was reaching to out her bucket back on, he spoke, his common sense long gone out the window from the pain killers.
“Hi,” he said giddily. “I’m Paz.”
She gave him a quirk of her lips before putting her helmet on.
“Hi, Paz,” she responded. “Hold on tight.”
He squeezed around their torsos, making them grunt. Oops.
“You’re really pretty,” he said, and the man to his side laughed. The woman sighed and shook her head.
“Let’s get you home so you can sleep this off,” she said. Paz giggled as they activated their jet packs and his stomach lurched.

The history of Bo-Katan’s rulership...
Bo-Katan: Divides Mandalore in a civil war that ultimately results in her begging the Republic to invade them, just to escape the tyranny she helped plunge them into.
Moff Gideon: Say thanks Bo-Katan!
Bo-Katan: Leads Mandalore in a failed effort to overthrow the regime she helped bring on, resulting in all their forces being exterminated.
Moff Gideon: Wow, that was a great help Bo-Katan!
Bo-Katan: Surrenders to Gideon, handing over the darksaber in the process. Only for it to turn out to be a trick that results in their planet being blown up.
Moff Gideon: I couldn’t have done it without you Bo-Katan!
Bo-Katan: Regains leadership and immediately walks all the remaining Mandalorian’s into a trap.
Moff Gideon: You’re the best Bo-Katan!

Dad Din and Mum Bo just so proud of their child.
Tumblr media
''One does not speak unless one knows.''
Din just being so protective and sneers at Vizsla's child, AND
Tumblr media
''Don't worry my dad was the same way, he's just proud of you.''
Bo just being a supportive mum and reassuring Grogu.
Tumblr media
How she squeezes his little shoulder and the look Grogu gave her… I can't take it, it's just so fucking adorable.

So this post was supposed to be a reblog of another post I saw, but tumblr shut down while I was replying and I can't seem to find it again. It was about how Din's interactions with other characters make evident how devoid of chemistry the ones with Bo-Katan are. Feel free to point me at the post if you saw it, and I will reblog it since I 100% agree with them. EDIT finally found it, it was @turkwriter who wrote it, you can find the reblog earlier on my blog.
Anyway, here's my addition (spoilers for S3 ahead).
I don't know if the writers will go down the Din/Bo route (it seems so surreal, even for SW and even for this season) but it's clear how limiting Din's interaction with other characters was a deliberate choice to put Bo-Katan on a pedestal.
What follows doesn't solely concern Din/Bo. I have this odd feeling, that Favroni/the screenwriters took a trip into the fandom space and tried to implement fan tropes and wishes in the show (without even distinguishing between actual, serious wishes, and inside jokes carried out by memes).
Like, did you notice how Din and Bo go on a first-name basis as soon as the second episode? Bo-Katan even gets to be called by nickname (Bo). We all know how names are relevant to the fans and I think all of you are familiar with the trope of being called by name as an act of intimacy, especially for someone (Din) who doesn't share it easily.
Then there's the sheer amount of times Din has to be saved by Bo-Katan. I.e. "Damsel in distress" applied to a very competent character who is also jokingly labeled as a himbo, and his himbo side this season went through the roof for no apparent reason. He forgot about at least half of his fighting equipment, for istance.
Also, all the physical contact Bo and Din have. Not that much actually, but she puts a hand on his shoulder several times and we all know about touch-starved tropes with Din (big fan here too but no thanks).
Then, the overall growing silliness in the season. Don't get me wrong, Star Wars can and will be silly. But having Lizzo+Jack Black+Christopher Lloyd in the same episode was like reading a tumblr post about improbable cameos we wished to see in The Mandalorian (which in turn is irony on how the writers love their cameos).
Also, how Grogu has been completely turned into a puppet. I'm gonna say it: I hate his somersaults. They're ridiculous, they make it apparent how fake he his and they're overused as a cuteness treat. Apart from that, Grogu's development was close to non-existent if not for the flashback he got and the cringe mech suit of his deceased nanny allowing him to comunicate (and enrages me cause was it so difficult to give him a YES/NO pocket device to communicate??). Sorry if I'm digressing. But Grogu this season felt 95% the merchandise Disney sees him as.
And finally, but there's probably a lot more, how Paz is suddenly made relevant through having a son. Admittedly this is an old trope and I knew since episode 1, when they hinted at the connection between Paz and the yet unnamed Ragnar, that Paz wasn't going to make it out alive. It's the old trick of emotionally investing the audience though an universal tragedy (losing a parent) in order to make their death more significant without having to explore them. Which they didn't of course.
This is just from the top of my head. I'll admit I have trouble remembering other details because my investment sunk a great deal and I can barely tell the episodes apart, so feel free to add on or correct me on my impressions.

Suffer with me besties
Title: none
Characters: Paz Vizsla
Rating: R
Warnings: spoilers, death, and Tailor is ducking wasted and angst
Paz throws his melted cannon aside. He doesn't think. He only acts, his body moving on pure instinct.
Each round his armor takes gives his vode another second to escape - another minute to get back to the fleet - another hour to evacuate. Each Trooper he slays gives his son another year of time - time he knows he will not have. Time he had prayed to the gods for. Time his own father had been unable to give him all those years ago.
Sidestep. Duck. Punch.
Today is a day he has been preparing for his entire life, and he is calm. He is ready. He knows that he has done what every Mandalorian warrior is trained to do - rise up when the Mand'alor calls. Protect their Tribe. Fight until the last breath. He has honored his oath for his entire life. He has honored their ways, and that is all he can do.
Stab. Slash. Parry.
The last trooper falls. He has a brief moment of hope that he will see his son again. That he will see the seed he planted grow into a mighty tree. He hopes that he will see his Tribe grow strong. He hopes that he will see many more Mandalorians come to The Way.
When the Praetorian guards come, Paz knows he will not see the sunlight on his son's face. He is calm, and he is ready. He will not live out his old age basking in the shade of the mighty oak his son will become. He will not see his son put down his roots, and he will not see the warriors his son will raise. He will not see his people reunited as one.
But he will honor The Way until his last breath. He readies his blade. It and his faith in The Way are all all he has left. He is ready.
This is The Way.

Then you spend to much time on the internet you end with this :
Top : some fan’s expectation for the mandalorian. (Old pulp with very viril male protagonist and submissive female character. And mandalore and Concordia in the background).
Bottom : the reality. (Grogu road trip to see family and made new friend)

Oh and if the point was that Din is being humble, supporting Bo, and focusing on raising Grogu instead... Why don’t they show that? Have him still be the POV character so we can get his thoughts on the darksaber, his people, and Bo-Katan’s potential leadership.
That way, if he supports her bid for leadership... It wouldn’t feel as disappointing! Because at least he’d still be the main character. Instead he just stands in the background, never giving his thoughts or opinion on anything. He doesn’t even fight as well anymore, Bo one-ups him in that too.
Audiences can tell when the POV’s shifted to another character, you can’t fool them by spinning a yarn about how Din’s secretly doing some awesome things to support Bo that they don’t get to see.

Why did Bo-Katan keep that huge reveal to herself? Bo-Katan's longtime portrayer, Katee Sackhoff reveals in a new interview with EW's Dagobah Dispatch that the former Mandalorian leader's intention wasn't nefarious. "She doesn't trust necessarily what she saw. She might have thought that she imagined it," the actress explains, and that "there's so many things that she's trying to process in her head that I don't necessarily think that it's something that she wants to tell anyone about right now."
Sackhoff confesses that because of the hard losses Bo-Katan has suffered, she's naturally cagey. Also, her character doesn't know Din all that well yet, despite respecting him as a warrior and being intrigued by him and his belief system. And it's that belief system that Bo-Katan comes face to face with at the end of the episode when Din brings her to the Children of the Watch's hiding place after her ancestral home is destroyed on Kalevala.
When asked what was going on under her helmet when she was welcomed into the Watch, Sackoff thinks she's weighing her options because "She truly is alone and has nowhere to go." The mistakes of her past — with Death Watch and the resulting death of her sister Satine — weigh heavily upon her, and she's in a more vulnerable state than we've ever seen her before when Din brings her in. But because of the disagreements with Din's cult in the past, the Watch welcoming her to their clan with open arms is a surprise to her. "To be immediately accepted by people is new for her. She may or may not be trying to figure out if that's a place where she should potentially stay," Sackhoff says.
And as to whether the former leader of Mandalore wants to take up that mantle again, Sackhoff surprisingly says… no. "I truly believe at this point that she hopes someone else steps up. She doesn't want the responsibility. The responsibility cost her everything," she divulges. "Leading didn't work, so maybe fitting in will."
