A political advisor who's the power behind the throne. A similar looking man was the advisor seventy-five years ago. Fifty years before that. A hundred years before that. How old is he? How long has he bee pulling these strings?
A Wikipedia editor quietly linking pages together. The links don't always seem to go where a user would expect, but they go exactly where the editor intends them to go.
A young woman who spends her time running ten, twenty, a hundred different accounts on various social media sites. Nothing she posts is true; her accounts are layers of sockpuppets upon trolls upon catfish. She appears to be young, but she is slowly crafting her fourth world-changing conspiracy. The first one was done eons ago, before it was considered appropriate for a young woman like her to be able to read and write.
The leader of a powerful and well-known cult, hiding in plain sight. He pulls the strings of his underlings, telling them to give a little more, a little more, just a little more. The members, in turn, snare others to bring in. A little more, they say. If you give just a little more, perhaps you can be as successful as I am. As our leader is. And when the entire town becomes part of the network… why, then it's simply time to expand.
The teacher in charge of the anti-drug program at a school. They provide all sorts of information on why drugs are bad and how to avoid them. "They will make you feel all of these incredible sensations," the teacher whispers into the students' ears. "They will make you feel so lovely, but they are deadly. Here is the man who sells them, and where he is. His prices are cheap, so it will be tempting. You should avoid him at all costs." They tell their contact that there is a new group of students coming his way.
An entomologist who has dedicated her life to studying creatures that the world finds both revolting and fascinating. She welcomes her subject into her home, eventually to the point of rejecting human interaction. All the more time to study her little friends. When someone finally calls in a wellness check, she's nowhere to be found. Her house is empty, save for some very large cobwebs.

A Guest for Mr. Spider
Item #: SCP-10885
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-10885 is to be kept in a locked and labelled box in Site-██ storage. All access to SCP-10885 must be approved by Site Director S███. Foundation staff are not to directly touch SCP-10885 under any circumstance. It is to be transported in its container to and from testing facilities. In the event SCP-10885 is removed from its container, [REDACTED].
Description: SCP-10885 is a hardcover children’s book. The front cover has a spider web design in black over a white background with the title, A Guest for Mr. Spider, typed in black, serif font at the top. The back cover has an illustration of a large cartoon spider (presumably SCP-10885-01) with eight asymmetrical eyes, no mouth, a red bowler hat, and eight legs, two of which it is standing on. The rest of its legs are extended at various angles often described as “dancing.” No author is listed on the cover nor anywhere within the book. The inside front cover has a bookplate that reads: [REDACTED].
The book is twenty-two pages long. Due to the nature of SCP-10885, the pages cannot be photographed in any capacity. Below is a description of the pages:
[DATA EXPUNGED]
SUMMARY: The book follows SCP-10885-01 as it answers knocking at its door. Every visitor is a fly that brings a gift for SCP-10885-01. It is implied SCP-10885-01 eats both the visitor and their gift. After every visitor, increasing amounts of ████ covers the page. At the end, the book states SCP-10885-01 desires more guests, and implores the reader to knock.
All subjects that come into direct contact with SCP-10885 are compelled to read it. Attention may only be broken by stealing the book away from a subject. In this case, the auxiliary person will then be compelled to finish reading the book. If a subject is to die before completing the book, any person that comes within approximately █ft (█m) of the book will be compelled to read it even if they have not touched it.
When reading SCP-10885, subjects will begin to walk toward the nearest closed door. Upon completion of reading the book, subjects will raise it up to the door and knock twice. The door will then swing inward, even if it was not originally made to do so. Inside is a dark room with a wooden floor (SCP-10885-02) that houses SCP-10885-01. Subjects then proceed to drop the book before they are quickly drawn inside of SCP-10885-02 by SCP-10885-01. The door closes as soon as the subject is drawn over the threshold.
As soon as the door closes, it is no longer anomalous. Opening the door again will reveal what was originally behind it. Attempts to keep the door open after a subject has been taken have been unsuccessful. Attempts to outfit subjects with remote recording devices have also proven unsuccessful, producing only static once the subject is inside SCP-10885-02.
If a subject is physically barred from movement and is unable to reach a door, █████████████████████████████████. Further research into this has been prohibited by order of Site Director S███.
