so my headcanon is that isa being the creative icon she is, can never keep her hair the same! In fact she finds it incredibly boring and changes it at LEAST once a week! So, like... is everyone aware that Princess Kenny is a mary sue? Is that common knowledge? Because I was in the online fanfiction community during the 2010s and it was all "mary sue" this and "mary sue" that. And as I watched the black friday trilogy I noticed PK had a few notable traits:

-is a girl

-has magic powers

-everybody loves her

-significant characters go OOC as soon as she shows up

-tragic backstory

-gets everything she wants even if it doesn't make sense for her to do so

-is kind of a jerk at times, but her jerkery is ignored by the narrative

-sexually liberal

-is basically invincible and unkillable

-speaks in broken japanese (this is very specific to 2013 anti-mary sue culture)

-is part of some kind of minority (in this case transgender)

-has rainbows associated with her abilities

-is way more powerful than everyone else in her universe

Like... homegirl is a mary sue

To be clear: I’m not upset that MGA is releasing budget dolls. I’m upset about the degradation of doll quality between them. I think rainbow high branching into single outfit, short hair budget dolls is really cool! I’ve liked the fashions I’ve seen so far (love a sleeveless turtleneck and the strappy Sheryl dress).

But ohhhhhmyyygodddd those leaked dolls had HORRENDOUS bodies. Maybe it was the angle of the photos (leaks always look shitty lol) but they looked so weirdly disproportionate to the point where they look like custom bodyswaps with an entirely different doll. Also…the lack of articulation is definitely something.

I’m in the middle of house hunting right now, and I’m also at the teenage boy point in my transition where my voice is cracking on every other word

Coupled with the fact that I have a chronic illness that makes me look a lot younger than I am, I could probably pass as a thirteen year old kid right now

So every time I greet an estate agent (they’re usually already wary because of the blue hair and the rainbow walking stick) I have to squeak through saying ‘hi yes, I’m here for the house viewing, please show me round’ and then pray they realise I am actually a Real Human Adult who can afford to be there and not some elfin runt who got very lost

When they ask what my career is and I say fantasy writer, it’s a whole other level of questionable looks lmao. This is why it’s good my partner works in finance

This isn't anywhere near a fresh take, but I genuinely think that making Security Breach a "family-friendly" horror game is a big part of why the story suffered so hard

The bits of information we got from the trailer (& some of the teasers) painted a picture of a very different Security Breach than the one we got, and that isn't really a good thing

The game's got a whole bunch of other problems (even a little over a year after its release) and while I don't particularly hate what we got, it's still disappointing

While the story has problems in general, I really do think that trying to make it "family-friendly" resulted in a lot of more interesting story elements (as well as actual context as to why Gregory is even there in the first place) getting thrown out, and the story as a whole becoming bland and a bit hard to follow at times

Also why did they get rid of Vanny's knife. They were willing to give us the shattered glamrock animatronics but apparently the kitchen knife was too much or something?

Why was Vanny built up to be the main antagonist of the game, only for her to appear like... twice. In the whole game (excluding endings).

Anyways I'm going to put together my own little rewrite of Security Breach & I'll post it at some point. It's not original, but it sure is fun!
