Pirate Eddie with a potty mouth problem & innocent royal rouge reader (fluff or angst)
Reader just sneaks on his ship for a quiet read and when Eddie and his crew come back there is this random person in his chambers and he's like "what the fuck?" and she's just like "Shut up, I've never heard such foul language before" or sun I'm trying to read. And they get close but he teaches her a few unholy things.
today is multiverse monday! send me any au you can think of :)
hi there dot!! i hope you enjoy this :) <3
--
The quiet swell of the sea around you is comforting, the perfect white noise to the novel in your hands. You're perched on the end of the bed in the room, the blanket tattered from years of use and neglect. You don't hear the footsteps slamming onto the planks of wood above you, far too spacey to recognize your surroundings as dangerous.
You only know what's happening when the door is thrown open, smashing into the wall that it swings towards as someone steps in. Instantly you know, he's a pirate. You're on a pirates' ship, that much you knew, but you didn't think the pirates would come back before you were finished reading. The man who stands in the doorway has a tunic on, a mane of unruly brown hair crimped and falling over his shoulders. It spills over onto his back and nearly reaches the hilt of his sword, hung loosely from a brown leather belt. His boots are muddy and sandy, leaving awful prints over the previously-clean floor of his room.
Then, rather ceremoniously and eloquently, he provides, "What the fuck?"
Your stomach thudds down into your feet; you'd only ever heard drunkards in the tavern use those words, always after midnight, and you're always warned never to tangle with them. Is this man a drunkard?
"Are- Are you drunk?" You scramble to your feet, backing away from him as he raises a brow amusedly.
"Always." He nods, his bouncy hair flopping around his shoulders, "Are you lost?"
"Always." You admit sheepishly, hanging your head to avoid his eyes.
"Well I'd love to help you find your way," The pirate croons, holding out a weathered, calloused hand, you assume from the ropes above deck, "I'm Eddie. Captain Eddie."
"You're the captain?" Your eyes shine with wonder, "Like in my book!"
You brandish the novel you're in the middle of, a story about a daring pirate and his fearless crew. Captain Eddie snorts at the picture on the front, the pirate's sword drawn theatrically, "I don't think my crew has ever looked that cool."
"I think you look cool." You admit, your fingers nervously fiddling with the pages of your book.
"Oh, I know," He winks teasingly at you, "I said my crew never looks that cool. I'm always cool."
"Anyways, Princess," He starts, the nickname sending a jolt of fear up your spine, "Where are you from?"
"The palace." You murmur, hoping he doesn't hear you.
"The pa- shit," He gushes, his eyes wide as his hand flies to his sword for leverage, "You're- you really are a princess?"
"Please don't take me back!" Your lower lip juts out involuntarily, but you suppose it helps you in your pleas, "I'm tired of being trapped in there. I want to explore," You hold up your novel, "Just like pirates!"
"You are asking me," He confirms, chest tight, "To sail away while you hole up in my bedroom?"
"Oh, you would?! Thank you," You gush, rushing forward to wrap him in a tight squeeze, careful to avoid his sheathed weapon, "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
"Ah, ah! No," He yanks you off of him, eyes wild, "You are asking me to kidnap the princess?!"
"They won't know it's you," You bargain, "They'll just think I'm lost or something!"
"I... fuck," He groans, there's that word again. You stand unimpressed before him, crossing your arms huffily as he buries his face in his hands.
"If you're not going to take me, I'll run back to the palace right now, and tell my father that you've stolen his rubies!"
Captain Eddie's head shoots up, eyes wide, "What?!"
"I see them in your pockets," You swat at the bulging fabric at his side, gems and jewels clinking together within, "He'll have your head."
"So either you damn me by ratting me out, or your father damns me when I kidnap you?" He clarifies, glaring unimpressed at you.
"I've read up on trade routes," You grin brightly at him, "I know the quickest ways! They won't catch us."
Captain Eddie deliberates, tapping his muddy boot against the floor. You wait not-so-patiently, finally starting for the door, "Fine. But you'd better be out of here in ten minutes, unless you want a cannonball through the wall of your bedroom."
"Wait!" He grabs your arm, yanking you away from the door, "I- I'll do it."
"You'll take me?!" You ask, eyes alight.
"Yes," He groans, the sound choked as he sighs, "But I swear, Princess, if this is how I die..."
"Thank you," You gush appreciatively, rushing forward again to hug him for a second time. This time your head finds its way onto his shoulder, his frizzy hair brushing your nose and tickling it.
"Don't thank me yet," Captain Eddie warns you, patting you on the back, suspiciously low down, "We still have to get out of here before anyone notices you're gone."
"Then let's go," Your eyes shine with adrenaline, chest already heaving as you drag him out onto the deck of the ship, "Teach me how to sail!"

An Introduction to Daydreaming
Have you ever wanted to fight dragons? Travel the multiverse? Make soup?? Well, my neuronaut friend, you're in luck! You could do all of that and more for exactly 0 dollars and 0 cents by daydreaming! More than that, you could learn how to make your life better by turning it into a daydream! Yowza! By the end of this essay, you will learn how to go on adventures of your own, find out that magic is real, and so much more!
Now, what is daydreaming? It's exactly what you think it is and nothing like what you think it is. In the most literal sense, daydreaming is simply going into your mind and imaging scenarios. Think of it as a solo TTRPG or just an imagination exercise. However, everything changes when you focus on intensifying the daydreams and making them a part of your physical life. By eroding the barrier between the physical world and the world of daydreams, you, in turn, make your physical life magical! In fact, to a certain extent, this is the same practise done by many religions. I don't want to generalise too much; however, many religions encourage their practitioners to imagine themselves in the presence of a deity of some form or to even imagine themselves in a scenario outside of their physical body. This is not to delegitimize these practises or these religions; in fact, I truly believe that the spiritual experiences that come with these practises are real! If anything, this goes to prove the often overlooked power of daydreaming and how it can positively impact one's life.
How exactly does one daydream? While many do it naturally, many have also unlearned it for a variety of reasons. The best way to describe it for a wide variety of people is to simply imagine a movie playing out in their mind, but for many, it is not that simple. For example, those with aphantasia or countless alternate reasons In this case, I would encourage the individual to experiment to find out what works for them. Keep in mind that the aim is to experience a story, so however that works for you is truly beautiful and shows the diversity of daydreaming!
Now,what are some methods that enable you to achieve these wonderful things? There are as many methods as there are brains; however, there are two categories I have found to easily sort these methods: Augmented reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) daydreaming. Keep in mind that these are the methods that I know of, and I am sure that there are countless others that I am not as familiar with. That being said, let's begin with AR daydreaming!
AR daydreaming is augmenting your current reality by adding a daydream layer on top of it. A couple examples could include imagining yourself as waitstaff in a fantasy tavern while doing your dishes or fighting a monster while taking a test. This type of daydreaming is especially useful for individuals with busy lives or if you need to be doing something while daydreaming. The key to this kind of daydreaming is to match the mood of the scenario to what you are doing in the physical world. For example, it would be unwise (but not impossible) to daydream about a relaxed slice of life while exercising. AR daydreaming is an excellent strategy to add magic to one's everyday life!
The other group of methods would fall into VR daydreaming. These strategies are characterised by fully detaching yourself from physical reality and entering a daydream truly without limits. While these strategies do require the luxury of time, they are often more immersive and intense. However, you don't have to just lay still; they could be done while doing almost anything, as long as you can detach from the action itself. VR daydreaming is the more common strategy, and I would recommend it for first-timers, and for good reason! It is truly the best way to get immersed in your adventure.
Now for some tips that I learned to help you on your daydreaming journey. First and foremost, shame is something I struggle with regularly. In terms of this shame, here is some advice to keep in mind: Your daydreams do contribute to the wider world, as you are expressing your unique self (even if you do not do it openly). As well, you don't owe the world a thing! You don't have to conform to the world around you. In terms of more practical advice, a bit of music goes a long way. The specific kind of music is again different for everyone, but in terms of my recommendations, the artists Woodkid, Two Steps From Hell, and 2WEI are all amazing. As well, any instrumental music does wonders for scoring your daydream (I'm listening to Caravan by John Wasson, and it's great for this kind of thing). Also, it may be wise at times to listen to the music before daydreaming to it, as there are times that the music does not line up with what you planned out for the story. As well, make sure you are in a location where you won't be disturbed, or at least not suddenly; the last thing you want is for you to be called for dinner at the peak of the plot!
I hope you enjoyed this quick look at this long-ignored art form! Many write daydreaming off as frivolous, but it's anything but! Due to the fact that it exists solely in one's mind, it is arguably one of the purest forms of art, despite the backlash. May your journeys be plentiful, young traveller!

Do you think Festivia and Justhin were heartbroken and betrayed, after learning The MHC lied to them and basically used them because of their prejudice? (I’m guessing that after watching TAVERN AT THE END OF THE MULTIVERSE).
I'm sure their spirits were.

Tumblr has denied me a notif about you answering my ask. Very rude. Anyway i Big Care Mosca and Ash now and ending on Ash calling Mosca kadan took me Out. Pls tell me about their one-sided enemies-to-friends speedrun (or anything else you wanna), I'm all ears (P.s. it doesn't matter when you answer this, could be a while from now and I'd still be interested, i don't wanna drag you into typing up essays for me if you've got more pressing things to put your energy towards!!)
haha, my evil plan to inflict my blorbo feelings on my friend has been a success!! I am an evil genius!! (also, I appreciate the concern, but don't worry, I'm doing exactly what I want to be doing. this brainrot is terminal)
okay, the one-sided enemies-to-friends speedrun, aka the first week or so Mosca and Ash knew each other. I'm gonna try my best to make this readable and coherent and not go off on long tangents, but where the story of the first udaak fight took place mostly over a single session, this story spans many, and draws a lot more on both characters' backstories, so it's probably gonna be a bit more scattered. and longer. definitely longer.
So this story actually starts many months ago (both in and out of game), when Ash first got pulled through a portal from his home world of Thedas to... somewhere else. See, this game is a multiverse game, with characters drawn from a variety of different worlds who ping around the multiverse working to stop chaos on the behalf of a strange group of mutiversal entities called The Quanta. Now, I wasn't there when the game started, so all this information comes courtesy of my good friend who plays Ash. Ash took this transition outwardly pretty damn well, but inwardly... he'd been raised in an anti-magic cult (which is a gross oversimplification of things, but a full explanation would be long and complicated, so this will do), taken from the only home he'd ever known, was now stuck with people who he previously would've considered purposeless things, didn't speak the language particularly well (apparently even worse than currently) and was constantly surrounded by unsettling, fucked up magic. There was a lot going on for him that he lacked the ability to express or anyone he trusted enough to express it to. So he kinda just... sat with it, until slowly things got better. He learned to trust and care about the people he was with, he learned to be less scared of magic (some of the later involved talking to a Skyrim dragon which I wish was a joke but is not).
So time goes on, and we jump forward to the moment Mosca joined the party. See, Mosca also unexpectedly got pulled through a portal, but Mosca got pulled through a portal in the middle of a fight. As in, they were fighting, and a portal appeared and swept towards them, and then on the other side of the portal the party was also in a fight. Which means their introduction to Ash is watching him in a rage use the skull of an undead to kill another undead. It was... memorable to say the least, but not necessarily in a good way (yes Mosca also killed a bunch of undead in that fight, yes one of those kills involved violent decapitation, I never said they weren't a hypocrite).
So Mosca is introduced to the multiverse, and let's just say they don't take the change gracefully. They're not as scared of magic as Ash was (or is), but they don't like it and they don't trust it, and they are suddenly surrounded by it. They had also spent the last six months without seeing another living person, and the change to suddenly being with a party at all times is jarring to say the least. By their second day they're curled up outside a tavern having a panic attack. And the one who ends up sitting with them is Ash. See, Ash understands what it's like to struggle with the transition and sees a lot of himself in Mosca. It's cathartic for him to have someone else who doesn't trust magic, and he has a lot of empathy for them.
Mosca, on the other hand, does not trust him in the slightest. Ash is Big and Strong and Very Clearly A Threat. This is unfortunately and accidentally only amplified by an interaction maybe two days into knowing each other? After another fight in which Mosca is triggered to hell and back by the smell of gunpowder (backstory thing), they end up screaming at Ash to fuck off when he attempts to help. Ash actually takes this fine, but Mosca, once they calm down, is afraid they've made him hate them, which they need him not to do only because their patron is starting to make it clear that they're going to be stuck with these people for at least the foreseeable future. So Mosca goes to apologize. Ash waves the apology off, but in the process of trying to explain why an apology isn't necessary because he understands what they're going through, he ends up explaining what happens to mages in the cult that he was raised in. I'm... not going to explain here because it's... uncomfortable and a bit graphic, but suffice to say, Ash does explain. And Mosca, who previously had been hunted for having magic, takes this very, very badly. In their mind now Ash is a ticking time bomb, that will explode into violence the moment he figures out that they have magic (which they have been attempting to hide... poorly).
So this is where the one-sided enemies-to-friends comes in, because Mosca is convinced that there is a very real possibility of Ash killing them at some future date, while Ash could not be more chill. Mosca is in the corner plotting way to try and fight him if necessary while Ash is just like "neat, new companion, they seem like they might be cool". He is completely unaware that Mosca is terrified of him until...
Well, while traveling the party found a massive, and massively magical, skull, and some of the party decided to fuck around inside said skull and then came out with funky colored eyes and temporary magical bonuses and Mosca, well... kinda snapped.
"Grave of the gods, you're all insane! The only one here who has any sense is him" pointing to Ash, "and he-"
And there they very abruptly cut off, suddenly aware that you shouldn't accuse someone of plotting to kill you. Because either you are right, and they will, or you are wrong, and because of the accusation they then might.
"And he what?" Ash asks. Mosca makes no reply at all, just silence. The party eventually moves on. That night at camp Ash tries again.
"Do we have a problem?"
And Mosca, in one of the worst lies in their life, just says, "No."
Ash is, of course, not fooled by this, but understands there's no trying to talk to them about it now. He's patient. He can wait.
He doesn't have to wait long, because this is where the speedrun comes in. I can't remember the exact timeline, it might've been that night, it might've been a few days later, but not long after all that, Mosca has a dream. They've had a few interactions with the patron, but up to this point their patron hasn't been particularly direct, not since the making of the pact. They are, after all, dying. Their communications have been sparse to nonexistent. But Mosca gets a dream from their patron, where they end up in a cabin sitting across from them, as their patron explains that there are no more living people in their home world. The only thing left are the undead. That's why six months passed without Mosca seeing anyone else. There was no one else to see. Mosca's quest to save their world from the undead has unequivocally failed. And their patron does set them on the path to fixing thing, pointing them in the direction of, essentially, time travel. Reverse time to a point before the undead curse happened and then make sure it doesn't. But in the moment, Mosca can really only focus on the overwhelming weight of their failure and being the last survivor from their whole world.
After this dream they spend two hours alone on watch, stewing in all these feelings. And then the end of their watch comes, and they wake their replacement, who happens to be Ash. And they should just go back to bed, but. They can't. How in the world do you even begin to process something like that?
Well, for Mosca, they ended up spilling it to Ash, just to say it out loud to someone. It's disjointed and awkward and not at all the whole picture, but they tell him they can't go home. That they're the only one left. And he responds by telling them he can't go home either. The cult he grew up in would kill him on sight if they ever found him. And when Mosca explains that they never hated him but that they were scared of him, that they've been running for years from people who want them dead, Ash says that they're part of the group now, so he's going to protect them, and that their problems are the group's problems, and if those people show up, they'll take care of it. And Mosca, in the grip of grief and desperate for any comfort or reassurance, believes him. Maybe not fully, maybe not completely, not yet, but enough to understand that he's not a threat to them, and that he understands what it means for them to have lost their home and be surrounded by magic they're uncomfortable with. And they stand with him on watch for the next couple of hours, but they do so not wearing their mask. The symbol of their paranoia and lack of trust.
Because no matter what else happens (and so much has happened since then) Mosca and Ash's trust in each other is complete and unshakable. For all that Mosca doesn't trust themself, and for all that they believe that Ash shouldn't trust them, he does. And for all that Mosca is a terrible, suspicious bastard who trusts no one, they trust Ash. That, more than anything else, is the foundation for all that has come since, and no matter how often they argue (and boy have they argued), that trust still stands unbreakable.

SONG LYRICS: A FAIRY STORY
words and music by Shay Healy, Oisin Music Ltd, Ireland
In days of old in a kingdom bold, there lived a fearsome dragon. And the King he was in great distress and the countries spirits flagoned. Until one day there came a knight, he was handsome, bold, and charming. And he slew the dragon with his sword with a smile that was so disarming. With a hey and a ho and a hey nany no, a smile that was so disarming.
Said the King I wish to know your name, but the knight said do not bother. For the name of a knight of the realm says he, is the same as any other. Said the King tonight in my daughter's bed you shall take your leisure. And she'll reward you for your deed, with a night of exhausting pleasure. With a hey and a ho and a hey nany no, anight of exhausting pleasure.
One daughter she had raven hair, a maiden young and chaste. And she slept all night in the pale moonlight, naked to the waist. The other daughter she was fair, the fairest in the town. And she slept all night in the pale moonlight naked from her small waist down. With a hey and a ho and a hey nany no, naked from her small waist down.
Well the knight he spends many hour behind the castle wall. But the ending to my story dear, isn't what it seems at all. For in neither bed of neither maid was he repaid for his glory. But he slept all night with the King instead for this is a fairy story. With a hey and a ho and a hey nany no, for this is a Fairy story.

I’ve watched “Star VS The Forces of Evil” episodes 19-20 season 4. In the first part of the first episode, Star comes to Eclipsa, brings a lot of cool warriors with her (by the way, where’s Tom? What did I miss?) and offers help to fight Mina. Well, it doesn’t work out, everybody except for Star is injured and Eclipsa has to use her no-name spell to destroy the huge warrior… Who appears to be not Mina, but one of her warriors. She’s still alive and fine and has a huge army. In the second part, Moon arrives at the monster castle, says Eclipsa that everybody has to be evacuated. Star pulls Marco over and says that she’s frustrated and feels guilty. They finally confess their feelings to each other and kiss (this time consensually and consciously). When they come back, Moon says that Eclipsa and her family has to surrender and that Mina’s working for her. In the first part of the second episode, we see some Queen Solaria recruiting Mina to her army to fight monsters. By the way, Solaria is Eclipsa’s mother and she wanted to erase all the monsters. (Obvious thought: her name is Solaria – sun and so on, and her daughter, who’s her total opposite is Eclipsa – like sun eclipse.) Eclipsa decides to surrender and Moon tries to order Mina to forfeit, but she refuses and attacks the castle. Hecapoo saves Star, Marco, Eclipsa, Meteora, and Moon by bringing them to some other dimension. King River manages to drag Globgor out of the castle and decides to save him “because he’s a father”. In the last part, two queens, two princesses and Marco hang out at the “Tavern at the end of the Multiverse”. Everybody there ran away from governments and magic. Star freaks out, says that she wants to destroy magic and goes into Glossaryck’s eye. Glossaryck takes her to the Queen portrait gallery, every Queen there except for Moon and Eclipsa look at the new portrait – Start’s. She sees that she saved everybody, but after destroying magic Marco stayed on Earth. She cries but realizes that she still has to fulfil her fate. They ended it on a cliffhanger and I, being a coward, decided to leave the last episode to another post. (After all, the actual finale was spoiled to me by one the best friends. Thanks, Vova.)

Um.
Excuse me?
So, does that mean that any magical creature just... ceases to exist if you destroy the magic? I was expecting them to become mundane people, but if they’re going to straight up die, then you’re just trading one genocide for another.
Yay! You stopped Mina from killing all of the monster people!
By killing all of the magic people instead!
Also, I’m pretty sure there’s some crossover there. I’m not sure how a severed pony head is supposed to live without magic.
I mean, Jegus Christ, all of Star’s magic spells are alive too. There have been three entire episodes dedicated to their interpersonal drama. You can’t just kill them off and pretend they don’t matter.
