Hello everyone, my name is Andrew and some of you may know me from this little cat blog my wife and I curate on Tumblr called TheCATalogues. We love cats so much that we have the great joy of having three in our little apartment in Pennsylvania, USA.

Recently our oldest had to have a mass removed from his skin, and he was the goodest boy in the whole vet cuz he got in and out with no issues during surgery. Now our boy is home with a small nasal cold which he is taking some medicine for, and recovering waiting for the stitches to come out.

If (AND ONLY IF) you are financially able, we need your help to recoup our funds for our little boy's surgery.

With visitation fees and meds and all, we were able to initially pay the $800 at the vets, but shortly after we had a couple of financial curve-balls thrown at us. Both our vehicles developed issues that need to be taken care of, and we are dependent on our cars to get to and from work. These issues mean we are definitely going to come up very short on rent and credit card payments. I'm sure you've heard all of this before as so many of us go through financial disasters, it always sucks to be blindsided like this. What's that saying: "You're just one bad event away from homelessness"?

Anyway, we don't need the full 800 thankfully, just enough to get us out of the red until our paychecks come through in a couple of weeks.

To summarize: if you can help us recoup from Neko's surgery, thank you! Even 20 bucks gets us enough gas to go to and from work for a week, so every bit will be helpful.

One of the things I feel like KinnPorsche the Series does so well that not enough people talk about is giving its queer viewers a story that's shelter from societal homophobia.

I want to emphasize that this is not the same as telling a story in which people live in an idealized world where homophobia doesn't exist.

I've seen a few people mention that characters or couples dealing with homophobia is often not a part of Thai BL. I really appreciate that as a queer person who consumes media.

But KinnPorsche does something slightly different.

The state of Utah in the United States has no citizenship requirements for marriage licenses, and Utah County is the only place there that allows international couples to register their marriages online. Since the county rolled out virtual weddings during the Covid-19 pandemic, it became a wedding haven for same-sex couples who are not able to officially marry in their own countries.

As sexual minorities in China face suppression at home, Utah County is allowing them to officially marry and celebrate their love — all for around $100. Although the marriages aren’t recognized in China, some 200 same-sex couples from mainland China and Hong Kong have gotten married via the county’s digital marriage license system since 2021.

Comme Des Garçons Shirt SS2010 Campaign

This campaign by Stephen J. Shanabrook, took the ideas from his “Paper Surgeries” series to create the collection of advertisements.  These advertisements heavily reflect Comme Des Garçons’ concept of “in-betweenness,” as these obscure reconstructed paper prints creates a duality of both the beautiful and grotesque.

The concept of in-betweenness comes from Zen Buddhist philosophies, in which the idea that in chaos you must find order, and vice versa.  As we see through these advertisements, the images of beauty have become obscure, letting both the ideas of perfection and imperfection share the same space.
