Is there any studies about dissociation possibly affecting vision? I've lost all my peripheral vision and am working to get to seeing a specialist, and I'm worried if this is something tied to dissociation I might not be able to fix it as soon (or if at all) than I'd like.

Yes, there is research about dissociation affecting vision. Substitute beliefs for DID are reported, and DPDR commonly has visual disturbances as a symptom. Other than substitute belief, there is an idea that something about dissociation disrupts the brain's communication with itself which affects sensory perceptions including vision. Unfortunately most papers on this are case studies because it is "interesting" to researchers but mostly in the form of a thought exercise than a true attempt at treatment (in part because these cases tend to be sudden onset and then resolve themselves soon afterward).

Terms to search for personal research: somatoform dissociation, psychogenic blindness, conversion disorder/functional neurological symptom disorder, somatization disorder.

After seeing Kinta's comic, I felt I had to write my own post. I can't do an art. I thought about doing a oneshot but I doubt I'd do it justice and someone else probably already had and wrote that particular premise. So I'll just share my thoughts.

The truth is, part of me feels like I don't really have the right to be as impacted as I am. I never read Takahashi-Sensei's manga. I couldn't. I'm blind. I couldn't appreciate his art in any of its forms. I couldn't even watch the anime in the sub, in his native language, because I never got fluent enough in Japanese to understand it.

All I know is that, in one of the darkest times of my own life, when my family was going through difficulties I still have trouble discussing in public (Kinta you're braver than you know), Yu-Gi-Oh was there. When I ran out of Dragon Ball content, Yu-Gi-Oh was there. When I couldn't sleep, which was often—I've always struggled with sleeping at the correct times—Yugi and his friends were there in my imagination. Even when I gave up fanfic for a few years, Yu-Gi-Oh's influence was there, in Catrion and Vienata's eye-colour, in Antario's personality, in the creation of the Lanotehara.

I never saw the end of the original Yu-Gi-Oh anime. I had to find out what happened from Wikipedia, in 2012. I suspect the TV networks down here followed the US's lead and switched straight to GX. I don't think I ever saw Season 5 on free-to-air. But I fell in love with GX too, and 5D's. After that last one was so rudely cut off, however, I was disinterested in future spinoffs. I haven't watched anything past the end of Season 1 of 5D's, which I resented anyway because I'd just been hit in the gut by what 4Kids decided to make the Season finale of GX after avoiding saying characters were dying for half a season. I will never forgive whoever did that to me, and to the story being told.

In the 2010's, I found out fanfiction was a global phenomenon, and of course Yu-Gi-Oh was one of the first series I read fic for. Thanks to the Yu-Gi-Oh fandom, first on FF.net, and then Tumblr, I met many wonderful people I am glad to have in my life. @kohakuhime, @gwen-skyes, @kintatsujo, @iced-blood, @thejanestofdoes, @entamewitchlulu, @aceyanaheim, @littlemomentsofgold, @mpuzzlegirl, and others I might know less well, or didn't meet through Tumblr, or whose names I have simply forgotten at this time, but who are no less dear to me. I would not have known these people without Kazuki Takahashi's work to bring them to my attention. Yugi wished for friends, and would never know his wish was not just for him. I don't think I have enough words to express my gratitude. I'm trying, but it doesn't feel like it's remotely enough.

Thank you, Takahashi-Sensei. I hope that, wherever you are, you know how vast and positive your legacy is. Also, thanks for creating the best backstory possible for a rich kid's favourite card. Nothing will compare to the Blue Eyes White Dragon in popularity or general epicness.

Mokuba rolled his eyes, for the third time. Seto had asked him the day they scheduled the surgery. Then yesterday night, in the office. And now, on the morning of, with early silver light spilling across the breakfast table, Seto’s coffee, his bowl of steel-cut oats. Seto had taken a sip, set it down, and asked for the third time. 

“No. I’m eighteen. I’m an adult. I don’t need you in the room to fucking hold my hand or whatever,” Mokuba said, scowling down at his phone. 

“Mokuba,” Seto said quietly. 

“Like, what’s the big deal? Why are you freaking out? You didn’t want me in there. You just got totally stoned and rambled about Star Wars for an hour - ”

“Mokuba, listen.”

“- but you were completely fine. There’s no risk here. At one point you really just need to stop hovering ov - ”

“Mokuba,” Seto said, punctuating with a metallic ding! on the side of his bowl. “Look at me.”

With a twitch of resentment, Mokuba looked up, only to find his brother sitting back, holding his breakfast spoon over his left eye, hiding it from sight. The right was fixed on him, honed to a sharp blue gleam. 

“Yeah, I’ve seen The Matrix,” Mokuba said. 

Seto didn’t reply, his humorless gaze still locked on Mokuba, with enough force he felt pushed back into the wall behind. Without looking away - not finding the nerve - Mokuba slowly blacked his phone and set it on the table, face-down.

“Yes, I was high. Chipmunk cheeks. Very funny,” Seto said. “But I didn’t tell you what it feels like when they put you under.”

He twitched the spoon. Morning light flashed off the curve, slicing through the air like a silent, brilliant knife, an effortless severing - 

An echo scuttled through Mokuba, cold, crawling. With a tight, hard yank of his head, he tore free of that unfeeling eye. 

Seto set the spoon down, quiet, waiting until Mokuba had exhaled, dragging himself out of the unpleasant tar pit of memory, past what was pitch-black and intact. Thinking, maybe, after all, he did want to hold his fucking hand.

“I’ll ask you again: Do you want me in the room or not?”

Given I don't know shit about One Piece here's YGO headcanons; Seto had to get braces while still living under Gozaburo and would purposely get shit stuck in them to piss everyone off. Later on in life, Mokuba bought a fuckton of those nails you kinda cement onto your fingers but instead put them all over their body and burst into their brother's office at 2am screaming "I AM THE GOD OF NAILS" making Seto scream and spill his coffee on himself. Mokuba did not like having Seto rip off the nails.

Eh, maybe, but I headcanon that the draining effect of KR doesn’t kick in unless the target has a LV. higher than one--so, despite her violent tendencies, Undyne--who gives no indication of ever killing anyone (it’s been stated all the humans made it to Asgore, and Undyne definitely would never kill a monster)--wouldn’t receive the effect at all.

I think the asker wanted to know what it’d be like if Sans fought Undyne the way he fights you in a no mercy run--but I headcanon that’s kind of just how he fights anyway, not to mention he has 0 reason to fight like that in all but the worst possible scenario.

Too many of the new Pokemon look more like Yokai from Yokai Watch than Pokemon, my heart hurts. I remember all gens from 3 to now not dealing with so much controversy. Like, I still really want to get Shield but also it's weird that GF has kept nearly everything from us. Plus those leaks are just that, leaks! I want to know what is real and what isn't aaahhh
