viii.xvii. Q • what are you currently listening to? . Hello and happy Friday, fellow book nerds and book jockeys! The weekend is almost here and I’m super excited to have it off since this work week has really put me through it 😬. Tomorrow I plan on making a to-do list for all the things I’ve been putting off (like actually finish Gilded Wolves, repotting one of my plants, and building a cat tree that comes in today) and then Sunday I’m going to the Renaissance Faire in Bristol WI with my siblings! It’s been a couple years since I last went, so I’m super excited to return this year 🥰 . As for what I’m currently listening to, I’m usually listening to a true crime podcast (I’m currently working through the backlog for Morbid: A True Crime Podcast). Let’s talk suprising TBR vets… here’s one of mine.

#thesilveredserpents is the sequel to #gildedwolves. A book that I loved and I’m sure I drove people crazy with. I had been dying to get my hands on an ARC and I ended up winning one through Goodreads.

When it arrived my life was a bit if a wreck. Part of why I dissapeared off here. But it’s a new year and I’m getting back into the swing of things. Setting aside time for reading and photo taking being big ones.

I finished this book a few days ago and I had to give myself a few days to process what happened. It picks up right where the Gilded Wolves left off and we follow the crew as they struggle to stay together after the loss of one of their own. Severin struggles the hardest and has the hardest time coming to grips with his new reality. He throws himself into his work and drives everyone away out of a sense of guilt and desire to protect them. After months of searching and shifting through clues they finally get a solid lead on the Divine Lyrics. We follow them in a new search and they are pitted against an unknown enemy. Past secrets come to light and things and people are not what they seem. This is a whirlwind of a story that ends so jarringly that it leaves you gasping for more. I reread the ending five times. I am left screaming for more, knowing that I have a long wait ahead of me. Where do I start on how amazing #thesilveredserpents is? I gush often on #TheGildedWolves with all the nuances, atmosphere, world building and incredibly flawed but beautiful cast of characters.

This sequel just takes it to the next level. This cover gives me life💞 I love how the atmosphere has gotten darker. Our characters are struggling to find a solid ground mentally, emotionally after the events on the first book. The need to aquire all the pieces to keep whats left of everyone together is getting dire. I love Roshani's writing and use of puzzles, mythology, math, and so much more to flesh out the story.

September is too far away to hold my finished copy in my hands! I am so fortunate to have won an ARC from #Goodreads. Thank you to Roshni, the team at Wednesday Books, and Goodreads for an advanced chance to read the second installment in a series that has become near and dear to my heart. ...........................................
