okay imagine like with svt (either ot13 or minghao jihoon and seungkwan pls) you’re studying for some test in eng / a language other than korean and you go to them with like the tiniest handwriting, tons of notes, all on one page all proud and theyre just like “…now wtf does this say bro” love u axie (if i can call u that) take a rest and i love u sooo so much! u can dm me if my req is a little confusing <33

so once you were talking with your mom over the phone and his mouth went ajar

like that man was ready to call the exorcist

and then it clicked and he was like oh ☺️

after the shock went away he swore he fell in love over n over again

loves hearing you talk in your native tongue :(

he’s so entertained by it too, like i swear he’s like a kid (affectionate)

you were laying in seungcheol’s arms, head nuzzled into his neck. his big arms held you tightly and he softly drew shapes onto your skin.

“and… seventeen?” his question made you smile. you translated how the number sounds in your native language.

and cheol started giggling.

“sev…enteen… it’s so.. rustly” he chuckled, attempting to say it “oh! what about our songs?”

“well… hot would be hot” you barely finished and seungcheol was giggling like a teenager. it was so contagious that you couldn’t help but start laughing too. but then he attempted to say it and failed horribly, causing a full on hysteric laughter from both of you.

maybe it was the late hour or his failed attempts. whatever it was, it felt so heartwarming.

he will learn with your help a couple of basic phrases!!

due to his busy schedule he can’t study on his own but once he has some free time he’s doing those duolingo lessons LIKE A FREAK

if he’s pouting bc he’s in a bad mood, all it takes is a kiss and a nickname thrown at him in your native language ^_^

shushes everyone in the room if you’re talking to your friends or parents in your native language through the phone :”)

obviously so they hear you better duh (not because he wants to listen, duh)

will learn some phrases on his own so you two can communicate (and cheat) while you’re playing games w his friends hehe

he absolutely fell in love with the kitchen of your home country like 😭😭😭

and and he absolutely adores the names of the dishes, esp when you pronounce them so effortlessly

it unlocked something in him….. sure he had a soft spot for you but now oh boy

“hannie…” you whined, tugging his sleeve.

you had a small fight, well… more of a disagreement: he wanted some ramyeon and you were craving (dish name). obviously he folded in half and knew he’s done for the second the dish name rolled off your tongue so satisfyingly.

“please? we didn’t have it in a while! we can order (dish name no2) too? pleasepleasepleaseee” you pouted. jeonghan sighed dramatically, raising his eyebrows.

“okay. but say it one more time” he grunted, a smile creeping on his face.

“you’re so weird” you mumbled amusingly in your native language and he frowned

“hey, i understood that!” jeonghan scoffed, causing you to chuckle.

he looks at you with literal hearts in his eyes whenever you speak your native language, just saying <\\3

when he’s feeling extremely soft, usually when you’re about to go to sleep cuddled n all, he’ll ask you to just whisper some random stories

it lulls him to sleep so fast

he knows the struggles of feeling away from home so the second you start feeling homesick he’s there to make you feel better:”)

shua loves hearing you mutter some random words, for example when you’re counting or something

will also ask for music recommendations and he will learn some of the songs so he can sing them while playing the guitar

also he’s INVESTED

like,, shua will watch you scribble down in your mother tongue mesmerised

it’s not that fun, however, when you’re in a rush and you left him a note with a grocery list scribbled down

… and a couple of things in your native language…. messily written that even the translator doesn’t understand it…

“uhhh… y/n, darling?” joshua’s voice rung in your ears as you picked up the incoming face time call. you smiled upon seeing his cute but puzzled face.

“yes, baby? also good morning to you too” you hummed, fixing your earphones. his face lit up upon seeing you

“oh woah, you look good today. but i’m in a bit of a pickle…” he hesitated, the camera turning around. you noticed the note you left behind and your eyes widened upon realising that you wrote some of the items in (language name).

“oh” you giggled.

“oh indeed” he shook his head with a loving smile “and even the translator doesn’t–“

“it’s butter, flour and cucumbers” you explained and joshua let out a dramatic, relieved sigh

he notes down the words after such incidents so he doesn’t have to call you eveytime

and it’s safe to say that he’s build a quite big vocabulary so far

my mans woke up one day and decided to learn your language

bought books, textbooks, audiobooks, duolingo plus (or premium, however it’s called) and casually managed to learn A LOT

he just loves the way it sounds and aspires to talk so fluently like you

ofc he knows he still has a lot to learn but don’t underestimate him

and the main reason when he’s gonna use it it’s just… bothering you ^_^

“–and then he gave me flowers! yeah! he’s the sweetest!” you were gossiping with your bestie over the phone, peeking at jun calmly reading a book “ugh, i know! i know, i know, i know, shut up!”

jun just smirked, getting ready to say something.

“trust me, i’d drop on my knee right here right now if i weren’t such a chicken” you giggled and blush creeped on your cheeks when you met your boyfriend’s curious gaze

“i’d prefer to do it, to be honest, but you’re such a cutie” jun said calmly in (language name) and casually returned to his book. your mouth fell ajar as your bestie started squealing over the fact that he spoke (language name)… apparently.

jun just winked and you cleared your throat, hanging up quickly.

“what was that?!” you laughed and he just shook his head with a mischievous smile.

so yeah, expect him to start spilling tea in your native language as an excuse to 1) spend more time w you 2) practice his skills

but as i said he’s??? like?? almost fluent??? his accent is so so adorable too <|\3

but if he’s abt to bully you (affectionately) he’ll come up with the most creative nicknames known to a humankind

he’s so so curious to hear you say even one (1) thing in your language

but totally misses it when you actually say some words throughout the day

obviously knows one word: tiger (wow shocking?!!!)

and uses it sm 😭 he has your contact name written as my tiger but my is in korean and tiger in your native language 🥹

he calls you like that often, it’s like a new nickname for you

he may be not so invested into actually learning it but your culture tho!!! esp dancing n music… sigh <\\3

you stepped into your apartment, the weight of this tiring day on your shoulders. as you lazily took off your shoes and put the bag with groceries into the ground you realised something.

the song playing in the background was strangely similar. suddenly it clicked. it was a popular song by an artist from your country! just when you realised, the sound of shoes squeaking against the wooden floor stopped.

“are you dancing to… (song title)?” you breathed out as your boyfriend popped out from behind the corner.

“yeah! i love the vibe of the song!” he grinned and gave you a welcome kiss. after pulling away you could see the gears were turning in his head “could you translate the lyrics?”

as you made your way to the practice room, you hummed the song underneath your breath. and in this moment soonyoung’s heart skipped a beat.

since that moment it’s like a routine that you sing/hum him to sleep some songs in your native language

or just whisper some stories

he’s out like a baby fr

a big enjoyer of the soap operas

he’ll binge them with you or alone and be actually invested in the drama

that’s how he also learned curse words ☺️☺️

“the fucking skeleton won’t leave me alone” you grunted in your mother tongue, earning a gasp from him. suddenly the arrow that the minecraft skeleton shot hit you and you fell down from the tree at top of which were you hiding “fuck!”

“baby!” he laughed hysterically, his head thrown back. your eyes widened, realising the curse words

“sorry! why is this stupid block game making me emotional?! ignore me” you scoffed and he just shook his head, smiling proudly at the new knowledge he obtained.

he finds it so endearing when you swear in your native language 😭😭😭

and it’s such a bad habit, especially when you play games together, that he started doing it too???

wonwoo laughs that you’re a bad influence but secretly he loves the way the curses roll of tongue 😭😭

so when he heard you talk in (language name) he was just like in another dimension

he’s smiling like an idiot fr his friends thought something was wrong but it was just you <3

uh however he kind of… never saw your handwriting in (language name)

and once you were studying for an important exam and mans had a heart attack

“hey y/nnie have you seen my…?” his voice died out in his throat upon seeing you and your notes. they were all scribbled in a tiny handwriting in some… letters he didn’t fully recognise. you had like five A4 pages of such notes.

jihoon blinked repeatedly, trying to think if he wasn’t in the sun for too long today – his eyes must be playing a trick on him.

“look! im so happy with the outcome, it looks so cute!” you grinned and turned around to see him almost hyperventilating “hoonie?”

“what–“ he frowned, pointing with his finger at one of the pages. what is going on?

“it’s in (language name), dumbass” you scoffed, everything suddenly making sense to him “it helps me understand stuff better”

“oh” he grunted, shifting his gaze to the page with little drawings “what does it say?”

“oh it’s the–“ you started explaining, throwing in some words in your mother tongue subconsciously. he just smiled and listened attentively.

regarding that, he enjoys just listening to you as you study and whisper some of the words/sentences in your mother tongue!

it really calms him down and usually puts to sleep to <\\\3

oh oh! and when you caress his hair while doing so… ah, he’s so whipped

he has tons of songs that are unreleased… and yes, you guessed correctly, with your consent he used some of your voice memos n all in the background

the songs are so cute :( he’s really proud of them too!! and it’s so sweet that it’s just… for the both of you <3

please leave in his studio some “i love you!” or “have a good day” sticky notes, preferably in (language name) or with translations?! he’ll melt :[

from the moment he met you he was always curious about your culture n native language but never pushed you to speak it n all

and gradually while dating him you started using it more and he started paying more attention

like he didn’t notice before that the funny sound you do while dropping something is actually cursing! 😀

what’s surprising, he understands a lot – maybe it’s the context or just some magical powers

but sometimes you can communicate like you say something in (language name) and he answers in korean bc he understood

and he’s so so in love with your accent and the way your face lights up when you speak it your mother of tongue

but for the love of god please – somehow – stop speaking it in your sleep, he’s gonna have a heart attack one day 🥰🥰

dokyeom stirred in his sleep, slowly waking up. he wasn’t sure why but suddenly he heard something.

it was definitely something. he sat straightly, narrowing his brows confused. what is that sound? is that a burglar? or…?

he looked over at you. no, you were sleeping peacefully. seokmin looked around the dark room, his heart speeding up. was this a nightmare? or was he just going insane?

then again. no, it must be someone saying something. something that he can’t understand.

then it clicked and he looked at you. your mouth was moving slightly, incoherent (language name) words being spoken.

he scoffed and went back to sleep, pulling you closer.

it took him so much time to get used to that but anyways 🏃‍♀️💨

“gyu? you’re still here?” your voice snapped him back to reality, eyes widening. you rubbed your eyes.

“yeah i just don’t get it…” he whined, shoulders slumping “i understand the words but they don’t make a logical sentence in my head”

“baby…” you chuckled softly and stood behind him, wrapping your arms around his torso and resting your chin on his shoulder.

he grabbed his food, cold now, and slowly chewed on it as you explained everything.

“what the fuck” kwan grunted confused. not only he didn’t recognise some of the letters but it was also the fact that they were going vertically. you scoffed and let out a sudden gasp, filling in a new word. seungkwan watched you amused, how swiftly you wrote down the letters on paper “what is it?”

“it’s umm, a historical reference. a surname of one guy, you know” you hummed. seungkwan sat down next to you and watched you fill the crossword, occasionally translating the questions and words you put in while you explained what they meant and why were they the answer.

in no time this turned into a couple activity: sometimes like this, sometimes he did a korean one and you watched, sometimes you solved them at the same time - him in korean, you in your mother tongue

he learned a lot of words thanks to this

and he has the cutest accent ever like i swear 🥹

seungkwan loves watching soap operas too like he lives for the drama

often repeats (shouts) what the characters are shouting too LMAO

so you’re chilling and suddenly you hear “get out of my house! now!” with his accent

also watches movies n animations in (language name) to learn some new words

he knows all the disney songs in (language) and majority of them he knows by a heart <\3

so you just sometimes blast let it go or under the sea in (language name) and sing along >_<

secretly loves when you accidentally sneak some words in your language it’s just so adorable

or when you forget a word and try to describe it… n then you give up and say it in (language name) just to see him smile <\\\\3

he decided that he’ll learn some random words??? like for example he just likes how umbrella sounds in (language name) so he just?? learned how to spell and say it

and uses it in random moments too like he’s so goofy <\3

you were casually chatting with his members, a raging discussion about whether mint chocolate ice cream is such a controversial topic in your country as well.

“i wouldn’t say so? people don’t… really care? a lot of people i know like it, actually! a bigger dispute would rather be some casual stuff like, do you sleep in socks or not… or which goes first: cereal or milk” you explained, looking at vernon. you could almost hear gears turning in his head, knowing what’s about to come

“toothpick” he said in (language name) suddenly, causing everyone to look at him confused. you started laughing at how serious he was when he said it; he started laughing too, it was simply contagious.

his friends looked at you completely flabbergasted, not sure what happened.

“i think they officially lost it” minghao mumbled, a smile creeping on his lips as you and vernon laughed like maniacs.

he always finds the most unfunny memes funny, like it could be even a meme from 2015 and he’d laugh

sends them to you too

and surprisingly?? he’s on track with the newest memes in your country like??

will know the most basic phrases too but sometimes mixes them

do you hand him a piece of orange bc he asked you to and then he goes “goodbye”

and you’re like?? 😭

but he tried okay?!

chan is super hyped about hearing you talk in (language name), it just amazes him how easily you switch between languages

but he never asked u to speak to him bc he didn’t want to feel you pressured or something

but whenever at home you just forget a word he loves when you say it in (language name) even if he doesn’t understand shit

or when you’re just so excited and into a convo and you don’t notice that you sneaked a few foreign words :”)

he always repeats them after you quietly ^_^

one day though, he’s just feeling soft and tired and his brain shut off

“y/n… can you say something in (language name)?” chan whispered suddenly, forcing his eyes to open and peek at you. you hummed, pushing some stray strands of hair that fell onto his forehead. laying on your sides but facing each other, chan noticed how your cheeks flushed pink.

“well… you’re not going to understand me anyways but… i love you. so, so much. i’m so grateful to have you in my life, you make me feel at ease. i can’t imagine my life without you…” you hummed and he noticed how your voice broke when you started the next sentence “and it hurts me to see when you put too much pressure on yourself, baby. you think you’re not good enough but to me, your members and your fans… and literally everyone else, you are. you so are, channie…”

he panicked once you teared up, fully awake. chan pulled you closer, calming you down

“i’m sorry” he mumbled, heart breaking at the sound of your sobs. you just scoffed, shaking your head

“don’t apologise, i just love you so much” you mumbled into his shirt and he swore he was about to melt.

i feel like deep down he knew what you meant <\3

anyways,,

if he hears about one (1) event even slightly connected with (country name) he’ll drag you there so you can feel at home for a moment (as if he’s not your home) and also translate some stuff for him

absolutely loves when you call him nicknames in your mother tongue, like

you could call him the goofiest and cheesiest nickname and he’s squealing like a teenage girl

but then he calls you the same or finds some new nicknames on the internet

sometimes to make you laugh or confuse he’ll put a sentence or a question to google translate and it’ll just… translate it so bad

“what do you mean ‘where’s the broccoli dog??’” you frown and he just laughs his ass off bc 1) it mistranslated OR 2) he purposely put some silly stuff to make you puzzled

Nastyona - who are they, what happened?

thought i'd make a little post to share my love for them!

Nastyona is a Korean indie band from the 2000s who are now inactive. the group was started by lead singer/Keyboardist Yona(요나),guitarist Hojin(호진),bassist Dong-jun(동준), and drummer Yong-jin(용진) in Pusan, Korea in March, 2002. they released 3 albums.

the first album is "bye bye my sweet honey" which was first released in 2004! however, i believe its the least popular. the second album is "another secret" which released in 2008. i actually am a little confused about the third one to be honest :,) i cant find its name anywhere, or maybe im blind. i did find what i believe is its Korean name though! 아홉가지 기분, which roughly translates to "nine moods."

the band changed bassists from Dong-jun(동준) -> Tae-hyuk(태혁)! not sure exactly when, but they did. all the other members remained the same.

currently, you can find them on spotify, but they only have the second album on there :( theres a few fan uploaded songs tho!

the band stopped making music and performing around 2010 i'd say. nobody really knows what happened, but many believe they disbanded to go their own ways in the musical industry.

yona, lead singer and keyboardist, made a few solo songs though! you can find 3 of them on spotify. "undo", "redo", both on an account called "yona" and "dont die" which is on the nastyona account.

she also produced and wrote the soundtrack for a Korean short film called "padak"! the songs are really cool. i havent watched the film, but it is written to be horror, so be aware!

she also has an instagram account named "loveisyona" although she only posts her dog, plants, and flowers. theyre really sweet pictures.

Yim Tae Hyuck, the bassist, also apparently produces music now too! i cant find them all, but ive found at least one of his songs. they dont have the same feeling as nastyona songs though, so be aware of that!

currently, i cant find anything about hojin, though. i'm sure hes doing something but i cant find it, so let me know if you do!

thats basically all my information about them! you can find videos of their concerts and practices on youtube, too. its really nice!

if you like nastyona, you may like a korean band called MOT! they have very very very cool music. theyre basically unknown. they actually opened for nastyona at a concert before im pretty sure

things i have done that have made people angry today:

1) asked my mother to turn her music down/off

2) asked my sister to stop ‘singing’ her kpop song (she doesnt actually know korean so she was just singing the 5 or so english words in it over and over and over and over and over and)

3) mentioned that the word pansy is a homophobic slur

4) said that objectively speaking, our cat is a senior (he is. hes 12. he is not ‘middle aged’ like theyre both always saying he is)

5) refused to google something for my mom (after she had already made me look up 4 other things for her. she was literally HOLDING HER PHONE.)

6) existed in the living room

7) existed in the kitchen

8) had an ‘annoying voice’

9) remembered an event that occurred when i was a child differently from how my sister did

i go to the only authentic korean restaurant in my city for lunchbreak near uni. the owner and my dad have unbelievable beef from the table tennis club they both, like all 30 korean men in my city, attend. my father says i shouldnt go there because of it. i say 'but the other restaurants are expensive:[' theyre not. he doesnt need to know this. he gives me lunch money. i'm 20 years old i have a paying job ive been helping with the bills for 3 years. but he can assert his dominance by giving me lunch money and rest easy knowing im not giving his arch nemesis clout. i go to the restaurant either way. his wife says 'hi sweetie, did your father not make lunch for you to take with you again?'. im 20 years old my father hasnt cooked for me in years. she doesnt need to know this. she has inherited beef with my family. she can assert her family's superiority by feeding me. 'yes ahjumma :[' 'oh baby sit down ill make you a big plate'. bam! extra food. one must known how to play into korean middle aged beef like 3d chess. turntables. my father and his archnemesis are actually good friends. theyre roleplaying arch nemesis status to bother ahjussi's teenage sons. one of them is always flirting with me. oh no! teenage boy annoying. i offhandedly mention this to my father. he is sure to pass it along to his friend. bam! annoying teenage boy avoided. ahjumma loves me. she gossips with me and likes that i learned korean. i was born in south korea and lived there for half my life. she knows this, but she prefers her headcanon of me having learned korean as a second language instead. she complains none of her sons learned to speak korean properly. she says i should teach them. oh no! ahjumma is trying to set me up with her sons. i'm a lesbian. she knows this. they all know this. ive told the sons this multiple times. oh no! casual homophobia. lately ive been considering the ethical ramifications of agreeing to the korean teaching pseudo dates purely for free food. the intricacies of the korean immigrant social circles are much hard to understand. i hooked up with the son's cousin once when we were teenagers. she's married to a white man now.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? omg. umm. merthur fans don't know this yet bc i havent finished posting but it's arthur pendragon long may she reign (BUT it's part of a series, so it's literally fine). idk, i dont tend to write long fics that end angsty. but my angstiest fic in general is probably Hollow-Boned Boy (armand contemplating his human life in the early CoD era) or Vision of the Damned (daniel's turning from armand's pov)

What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? i love a happy ending!! my series Odysseus in White Silk is probably the happiest ending, and in such an undeserved way hahaha it's so very AU because i was sad after s1 of the show and just wanted them all (and armandaniel) to live happily ever after

8. Do you get hate on fics? i dont think i ever have, but i tend to read comments in good faith too, so maybe someone out there is annoyed that i interpreted their vague dislike comment as a genuine comment or something, idk. in general though, i'll say no

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? yes but i dont post that often, idk if there's a particular kind, but generally it tends to be a little rougher than is probably appropriate without discussion in real-life situations, but also very...idk my friend described it as very tender, like theyre very clearly in love. which is so funny considering that that kind of tenderness irl gives me fucking hives lmfao

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? oh wow, not in a long time. i do have a wip sitting around rn that's a crossover between london spy and cloud atlas, which is really crazy until you remember that ben whishaw is in both london spy and the cloud atlas movie lol. and cloud atlas is already about weird reincarnations and parallel worlds and stuff, so it isnt too out-there.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? yes!! The Face of God was translated into Korean by ao3 user Crescent919 !! i've had a few comments on other fics asking to translate for personal use (always yes, of course), but no one else has asked to share a translation publicly

14. What’s your all time favorite ship? all-time? probably merlin/arthur from merlin (bbc). it's the whole fate-destiny-choice thing, it just compels me like nothing else

What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? hmmm, i would like to finish Roswell -- well, kinda (agent carter farm girl / alien crash landing au) because i still have all the original notes and outlines and stuff. i also made a shitty conlang when i was first writing it, which is crazy lol. but it would need some pretty serious revisions, and i would definitely rewrite the first few chapters that i posted years ago. i just kind of lost the agent carter bug, but i might return to that fic if i ever get in the mood for it again.

16. What are your writing strengths? ooh, i'm not really sure! i get a lot of comments mentioning characters' voices and/or personalities, so i would say maybe that!!! i also feel that i'm fairly good at mimicking an author's writing style when i want to (notably, i do not mimic anne rice when writing vc fic, lol)

17. What are your writing weaknesses? editing for sure. i have at least a hundred fics sitting on my hard drive fully or almost-fully written that i just need to edit. but i would simply rather die than do all of that. it's also why my whole merlin fic got put on pause while i went down the vc rabbithole, because i just can't bring myself to go edit the next chapters lol

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? hmm, i think it's usually unnecessary and comes off as a bit silly. that said, i did do it once (maybe excessively) in Daniel Molloy, Time Bandit (1984 daniel ends up in 1794 theatre des vampires, it's more of a character study than a time travel fic) BUT, let me defend myself -- i did it because daniel doesnt understand french, it's his pov, and he's incredibly confused and distraught for most of the fic. i felt like the dialogue being in french conveyed this sort of "daniel does not belong in this time/place" vibes. but, also, my french is...a little rough. so i'm sure it's an annoying fic for french readers lmao

19. First fandom you wrote for? warriors cats, a million years ago hahahah

20. Favourite fic you’ve written? ok, i have three different answers for this. the fic i think is the best, objectively, in terms of writing and content: The Story of Dani [...] (r63 devil's minion from armand's pov, starting with lestat's house). the fic i am the proudest of, mostly because it was my first "big" fic (it's funny now, bc it's only 41k) and i feel like i grew a lot as a writer while working on it, and i'm still happy with it: The Face of God (les mis pov javert, character study from childhood). the fic i have the most fun with and think about almost 24/7: Arthur Pendragon, Long May She Reign (r63 merthur, canon divergence, this is like a 4-part series that's currently over 300k lmao)

Kenta's nb swag is unmatched. look at that haircut. that kid is modding discord servers the level of which we could not comprehend.

hi anon!! im not gonna lie i had to dive DEEP into my blog to find the reasonings behind some of the crossed out ones because i simply did not remember a lot of them since there are SO many moments and theyre just crazy in love idk what to tell you.

so im gonna go row by row for these reasonings!!

1. cute instastories: not sure when the date or time was, but this was when shane uploaded an instastory of him and ryan playing pool in chicago!! either that, or maybe it's another instastory and it's slipping my mind, regardless they post about each other a lot :D

2. shane "heart eyes" madej: ok so let's be real... heart eyes madej is just a constant at this point LSDKJF. but the moment i marked were these: the zoom screenshot was in a ww+ 103 and in the most recent season of top 5 beatdown!! the zoom one is so cute because ryan was ranting about annoying people in movie theaters and shane was just So Fond

3. the mamma mia mentions were in ww+ 116 :D

4. another weird thing in common: i recently marked it off it in this post right here about the butterfinger moments if you wanna take a quick look

5. blatant flirting on camera: THE ENTIRETY OF BERRY BOYS 2 EPISODE!!! literally that video IS SO MUCH I STG!!! i cant watch it again without collapsing into a million little piece it was JUST OOZING WITH LOVE AND FLIRTING LIKE WTH!!

6. ryan accidentally making a sexual joke about him and shane: WHEW this one was a DOOZY when this came out SLDKJF it was in ww+ 113 where ryan jokes about shane 'dominance humping' him in the office,,,, you read that correctly and yes it did happen DFGFJG here's the clip of that moment :D

7. denny's hug: it was in the top 5 beatdown chain restaurants episode in the most recent season when they BOTH had denny's as number one and they hugged :D

8. an adorable hug: we actually got FOUR hugs in the most recent season of too many spirits... it was so gay so like watch that whole season its SO worth it THE HUGS WERE TOO CUTE

9. they stare at each other like theyre disgustingly in love: ONCE AGAIN IM SCREAMING FROM THE ROOFTOPS THE! BERRY BOYS!! TWO!!! EPISODEEE!!! like literally that video is my life blood at this point that whole video was just them looking at each other like this:

10. ryan calling shane big boy: even though ryan did in one of the ghost files eps, he also did it in one of the episodes in the most recent season of too many spirits!! so watch those eps ;)

11. they go on spooky dates: *gestures at the entirety of ghost files* they also filmed alcatraz on valentines day... so thats a whole ass date if i've ever seen one LSKDJF

12. steven wishing he left watcher: ww+ 108 and 109!! if you watch those, you can so clearly tell that steven wishes he could sink into a hole so he doesnt have to see ryan and shane blatantly flirt in front of him ever again. literally he stares at the camera like he's jim from the office or gregory from abbott elementary sldfjdf

13. shane calling ryan "little guy" + hand holding: these moments were both from the powerpoint party one-off!! that video is such a gem :') while calling ryan little guy he gave him his cape (one of shane's FAVORITE things) as a blanket it was ADORABLE

14. "shut up shane" (threatening): this was from the we try spicy chicken sandwiches feat. korean englishmen video!! ryan says this when shane is sitting on the side relaxing while theyre all dying eating spicy sandwiches DFGLKG

My personality : I am a pisces and an entp :]. I would say I do talk a lot and I am more extroverted. But i zone out a lot. And sometimes ppl think i being rude/ignoring them but i am just in my own thoughts😭. My brother says that I am mentally strong ,caring, passionate and i have tough love.

My style: I would say like korean street fashion 🤷‍♀️ i wear a lot of blacks,grays,whites and for a pop of color blue/green. I wear beanies when it’s cold. he also lowkey loves it when you zone out because it looks like you’re giving him literal heart eyes and he’ll just make the loudest “EEEEEEE!!” sound because he thinks it’s adorable and that’ll snap you out of your trance and your like “huh?”

y’all also love to trade rings, karl ends up stealing like half of yours and your just like “dude wtf?-” xD

and in terms of headphones he thinks you look absolutely adorable w em. if you have the earbud kind he loves to share them with you. but if you have the bigger more circular ones (no clue the actual name for em-) he loves to custom paint them and gift them to you <3

he also is constantly tracing and kissing your tattoo, he thinks it’s lovely (like uuu)

i can also see him getting along with your siblings really well, but because you were the youngest he was fucking terrified when he first met them xD

I think the repack was not well planned, but they still made one bcs they could tell ppl wanted it, so it was pushed out half hearted. Lets now set the bar reaaal low they thought. If ppl had given up and we skipped this release, waited until a real new concept (maybe a mini?) i wonder if we might have dodged this mess

idk.. i also think 127 needs another career evolution? like im not sure how or how to put it, but something...preferably outside the nct bubble. socially? with more of the ent industry or? hm i could keep going i just realized haha

i cant believe i didnt recognize the motel but i havent seen that mv in yearsss. ok just went back and watched it and i guess the only part i should have recognized from the ay-yo teasers is the empty pool but otherwise i dont think i would have realized without you telling me bc they mostly used different areas of the motel.

my memory is a bit fuzzy with the details of the repackage timeline but im pretty sure we were told a while ago that there would be a repackage so thats why everyone was expecting one (or maybe not, maybe we just assumed there would be one). i really dont know what kind of strategy they were going for with this awful repackage. but sm are no strangers to delays so i dont get why they couldnt have just delayed it a few more months if they needed more time.

the 127s DO need a career refresh. wayv and especially dream both feel fresh and interesting at the moment even with dream currently promoting a 90s cover song. their concepts feel distinctive and characteristic of their respective subunits and both have progressively evolved over time in a way that makes sense. 127's concept just feels stale :/ i think the 2 baddies concept photos were ALMOST THERE with the jack henry inspired photography especiallyyy his rosalía pics and rob pat pics for gq. i think they could have really pushed the visuals. i would LOVE to see 127 with a bit more edge to them. and instead of worrying about staying as pretty as possible. theyre already pretty they dont need to worry about that. i want to see them be INTERESTING and PUSH THE BOUNDARIES for whats the norm in kpop ok i have a vision. dpr ian is a wonderful example of what im talking about, though i would like to see 127 go with a bit more editorial/futuristic/luxury branding.

also look at some of the other pics from those shoots im obsessed

there are also some really great korean photographers too who have done really interesting work that i think would fit 127 like:

cho gi-seok, an icon. everyone knows cgs! and for a reason! i especially love their matrix inspired series it would be sooo good for 127 but their other futuristic/tech shoots are perfect for 127 too

pakbae is also great and while they focus more on fashion photography, they do occasionally work with idols for magazines. i love that they always throws a few interesting and unexpected images

go won tae has done plentyy of idol photoshoots that you would probably recognize.

less, aka kim taekyun, my tried and true. has also worked with a bunch of idols and with sm for superm and solo taemin and baekhyun concept photos in the past. i also love his editorial shoots but i'll just show some of the work he's done with sm. i think he could do something REALLY interesting if only sm would allow it

it's super normal to live with your parents. im middle eastern and its absolutely the norm to live in 3 generation homes. only westerners have this weird individualistic culture of moving out as soon as theyre 18. if you enjoy living w your mom, dont let anyone make you feel bad for it!!!@

Yeah, I remember when I went to college abroad and it was such like- a different standard, it was really strange cuz I had Finnish friends saying “wow how could you not move out at 17?” Meanwhile my Korean friends where like “yeah I share a room with my 33 year old brother” it really does vary from country to country :(

I think its more pressure from my siblings too, because the mom they remember living with is very different then her now like, she’s grown and healed so much from what happened to both to us and while it’s been an effort- it’s paid off. I genuinely understand how my grandparents fucked her up with narcissistic abuse and i know being around me helps her because I’m the opposite of manipulative like- it’s honestly just not in me.

hello biggie!! so your posts about orv have really piqued my interest and i’d like to read it!! only thing is i’m not quite sure where to start,, i hear there’s a webtoon as well as a novel?? if you have any suggestions i would very much appreciate them <33

AAAHHHH OMG!!!! so glad my orv propaganda is working >:3

i usually recommend reading the manhwa (read: korean manga i.e the webtoon) first and then the novel, especially if you arent familiar with korean media and like. genre conventions. it gets you hooked quickly and it sets you up well for the novel in my opinion. plus its still ongoing (and will be for like. 8 more years. no im not exaggerating) so it forces you to read the novel to see how it ends hehehe

but the novel is really the important one!! so you can completely skip the manhwa and start there if you want. in fact, im of the opinion that the manhwa is not a very good adaptation of the story, but that it kind of works as an introduction anyway? i have a post where i discuss it on my blog somewhere but either way. some would say dont read the webtoon at all but personally i like it i think it adds to the experience. so its up to you

ALSO!!! if you do start reading it you MUST block the tag 'orv spoilers' because theyre BIG BIG MAJOR SPOILERS. be very careful and try to avoid the fandom (even the wiki!!) as much as possible until youve finished it, bc theres a lot of really big reveals that happen toward the end and you dont want them spoiled. trust me

and for a little bit of extra context: there are actually 2 versions of the novel! it was originally published as a serial webnovel, and then later edited and published as an ebook. personally i would recommend the ebook bc a) the manhwa is adapting the ebook version, b) once you download the ebook you can have it forever, and c) i generally agree with a lot of the edits they made to the original. but i originally read the web version so i can promise you theyre both very good and very much the same story. theres just some mild discrepancies that you might run into in the fandom lmao

#if you want a link to either the manhwa or the novel lmk and ill send it!#of course you can read the manhwa on the webtoon app but the translation leaves a lot to be desired #(it commits the cardinal sin - flipping the korean names so the given name comes first. unforgivable)#but the novel doesnt even have an official english translation (yet!) so you can only read the fan translation #luckily its not too hard to find online #anyway omg im so excited!! if you do start reading it feel free to hop in my dms and yell about it with me literally anytime #and i really hope you like it :D #orv #biggie answers

hey guys happy holidayss~ i know a rambley lil impromptu post-festivities inebriated post isnt very studyblrcore of me but i hope you guys see me not just as a studyblr but as a cool older cousin type, or if youre older than me, then as an angel sent to heal your inner child with nonserious-serious vibes and nihilistic optimism <3

speaking of new years i wonder if i might end up making this blog a bit more langblr-y next semesterrr, i think im about decent enough in korean to feel okay making more content about/in it. or if im not then im gonna start aiming for it more lol!!

im hoping to make my korean studying more consistent and almost mundane or like low pressure, so that instead of cramming and hyperfocusing on it a lot and forgetting my other classes i can just make studying habits part of my routine and a constant so i can have better focus when i work on other things, if that makes sense idk if i explained that well. but i also reallyyyy love learning korean so the hyperfocusing will still happen lol

i really wanna write more this year both personal journaling and practice/hobby journaling for korean plus my academic/intellectual thoughts?? i never like really write those down and i wonder why not. i also want to be off line more and i feel like getting better at irl communications helps that a lot even if its just personal journaling no one else reads. its a good to remind myself that i can articulate myself if i try lol

ooh and i want to become really good at pilates idk, somethings been awoken in me this last month about it, and its been too long since i had a hobby that was physically active like that so i am restless lol. so ig it doesnt have to be pilates if i get bored and try smth else thats cool too

first of all, it makes sense that they wouldn’t get certifications for the much older songs that they’re not interested in promoting, i get that part. but when you have it all laid out like this its just obvious that there’s no excuse and they didn’t have any interest in acknowledging him.

the 7 certification came just in time to push his album release and the grammy push and yet, that flopped.

jimin is the ONLY member to have literally every main solo song (Lie, Serendipity, Filter, and now Like Crazy) to qualify. It’s established that he sells in the US and each of his songs is great in both quality and overall appeal. so why not make more of an investment in him.

there’s at least three possible scenarios i can think of:

1- this is all part of the plan

sometimes, the cynic in me wonders if they forced him into an underdog role bc that’s the brand they felt would sell for him. the members themselves have spoken about the concepts they were given pre-debut. i remember jin talking about how he was meant to be a cold serious type of guy but eventually that just didn’t work for him and he became the handsome and confident but goofy one. we can assume it was the same way for others.

at first, jimin was the “ladykiller” type with the ab flashing antics and then he became the sweet, kind, charismatic but “self-conscious” guy most of us became extremely attached to. he already had the “hard-work genius” title (🥴) that has been pushed for ages so it would make sense for the underdog-that-thrives-against-all-odds narrative to be the next step.

bc jimin has always performed strongly in the us they knew he wouldn’t flop no matter what and fans would feel incentivized by the “mistreatment” narrative so they would work even harder for him.

much like with bts, there was always a social-justice-oriented motivator for how hard armys worked since BTS had been treated like shit by racist/xenophobic/homophobic/elitist people in both the domestic and Western industries. meanwhile, the only real competition bts ever had was a group of attractive but averagely talented individuals who got all their material, promotions, and mediaplay handed to them on a silver platter. this only motivated armys that much more to work hard for the ones that actually do the work and “deserve” it.

does that sound similar to a certain someone? do you see where i’m going with this?

i could write an entire essay on the parallels i see here but i’ll leave it there for now.

2- the company really only cares about jk

another scenario is the worst case scenario pjms have been talking about all year. the company has a one-track mind of who they’re trying to push and they know the other members will follow even if theyre mistreated by the company bc they simply won’t do that well elsewhere or by themselves.

3- for some reason, they see Jimin as a liability so = not worth investment

something we don’t often talk about (because we don’t know much about it) is the topic of sponsors. jimin must have some but we don’t really have a clue as to who they are. for th (and probably jk) it’s obvious that that paradise hotel group family sponsors him. i don’t doubt that’s one of the reasons why he made such a big deal over those dating rumors. dating the daughter of the people funding your career sounds a tad bit icky if you ask me. now we now it was also bc he was actually dating a friend of the daughter’s (who also appears to be sponsored by them 😶) but i digress.

***this next part is purely gossip based on my observations and is 0% grounded on any legitimate information. ***

i suspect that jimin had pretty big sponsors circa 2019 while jk didn’t and now it is the opposite. when the whole paris clubbing scandal dropped even though the videos were everywhere on stan twt barely any korean media picked up on it. on the other hand, when the jk scandal triad happened (tattoo girl, car accident, and mid-covid itaewon outing) that shit was everywhere and he got dogged on real bad by knetz. it’s possible that jimin just got lucky that it coincided with jk’s scandals and got off scot-free (outside of stan twitter). in contrast, when jimin had the whole insurance payment evasion/stolen mail debacle that got covered extensively in k-circles even if stan twt didn’t gaf about it. now we know after face era was jimin was struggling around that time which inspired his songs and then he decided to “get his head straight on”. since that time period, which was the first half of 2022, he’s almost become ultra conservative with his image. i suspect the company took the blame for the insurance thing even though it was on him and that that was his wake-up call that he wasn’t doing well mentally.

if jimin, like the rest of hyung line, doesn’t have sponsors that are that influential anymore then maybe more of the brunt of funding his solo debut relied on the company and they decided to be conservative about it in case it was a risk at any point.

Is a very different approach to the situation I've never heard anyone analysing the situation like that it is very different and baby armies and them stupid ass ot7s would eat that one up.

But I think we all agree it's two. I'm trying my best not to post about Hybe because the festive season is here and I don't want nothing and nobody to ruin my spirit.
