Well well well, look who's having a real day off for the first time in six thousand years! I'm gonna write because that's what my soul needs! It's time for Audio Drama Sunday! Here's some shows I enjoyed this week...
♟️ @camlannpod first of all. I called it. Second of all. How DARE you. The discussions about names and power in this episode were fascinating and...I don't know, I love a hero who's devastatingly normal. Gwen/Shujun can make anything happen with her words, is the damsel in distress, but she's just normal. Perry is normal, Morgan is normal, and Dai might not be normal by neurotypical measures, but he's just some guy. Except that he's really not. And the group of them can either embrace it or suffer.
🧃There is never a week when @thesiltverses doesn't go all the way off, and this one went ALL the way off. We have to talk about Shrue having a whole breakdown and then moving forward anyway. Felix, Ray, and Daisy were amazing, but I also have to give all the flowers to Rhys Lawton, who I met recently and was an utterly terrible villain in this episode. Corporate horror. Who knew? (Anyone who works in corporate knew.)
🐗 The season finale of @victoriocity was funny and amazing and incredibly well done as always, but the stand-out moments are the moments of friendship between Clara and Fleet. I just. I love them your honor. They are best friends. Do not separate them. It's really good to see Fleet cracking open a little bit. Just a little. He's still Fleet, after all.
🍦I listened to the new Among the Stars and Bones on the way home from work and it was absolutely chilling. My word. The number of times I screamed. Oliver Smith was incredibly scary even in the midst of the horror, Jordan Cobb is always a treat, and my word, the crowd of Nabonidas crew members...Hey, Chris Magilton, writer of Among the Stars and Bones, what the hap is heckening???
1️⃣3️⃣ I've started listening to Thirteen! I love a horror anthology, but especially one with a central theme. So far most of the stories present you with a protagonist who is missing closure, and a creature who offers it, for a price. Thirteen is about grief. The stories are rhythmic and spooky, and at one point alone in my house I actually really scared myself listening. Check out Thirteen, it's a treat.
⛽️ In other shows I've started listening to, @desertskiespodcast is gorgeous and lovely and...the only word I can think of is effervescent. It's like a cold soda on a road trip. It's maybe just what I needed. My favorite part is definitely the cold opens, especially the one about Cash laughing. Jared Carter has incredible comedic timing.
In Inn Between news, we just posted 5.8: The Blood, which might be my favorite episode of the season, depending on how the next one turns out. In The Dead news, this next story is a HUMDINGER. Did you cry at Giancarlo in the last story? GOOD, now it's time to run for your life through London. Y'all are gonna love this.
Catch y'all next week or whenever I have time to write again! If you like what all this is, maybe drop me a tip?

My horror story "The Falling" is now available on the podcast Thirteen!
A new flight attendant learns there are some things you don’t talk about in the air.
During the drink service, the passengers seemed entirely normal, asking for juice or sparkling water, munching on dry little cookies from filmy packages. They had carry-ons, books, headphones, neck pillows, the same as always. And yet, Jackie was clutching the handle of the cart so hard her fingers turned white.
At the end of the drink service, the problem became clear: the flight was supposed to have 126 passengers. There were 127.

I’m listening to the horror podcast Thirteen tonight, I really like the chill, slowburn kinda scary stories. It’s relaxing to listen to, while still spooky! And I love that its all set around the US south, especially Kentucky. Regional horror is so fun, and I love hearing scary stories about places that I know and are quite literally close to home! The episode im listening to right now is set at the same college I went to and is talking about Waverly Hills, which I’m too much of a chicken to actually go to but is my far the most famous local spooky ghost hotspot. I love this kind of stuff.

"Jonny 'I don't write happy endings' Sims" this, "Jonny sits in his castle of screams and tortures characters" that - every story that man has put out into the universe is three raccoons called Hope, Humanity and Love wrapped up in a trenchcoat of horror and his writing gives me hope that us humans aren't completely doomed maybe.
Try to change my mind, but you can't!

*Spoilers for the 3rd Special of Doctor Who*
RTD explaining how the bigeneration could apply to all of the Doctors. It’s a fascinating if somewhat daunting idea, but it does at least explain the ongoing issue of bringing old doctors back and having to suspend your disbelief as to why they look so much older.
The implications are endless, but what I want to know is does it also apply to Ten? Are there now 2 extra Davids on Earth plus and extra human one on parallel Earth? How many Davids are too many Davids? 😂

Day 3 - Favorite Ghost Movie
Thirteen Ghosts (2001)
Starring:
Matthew Lillard
Tony Shalhoub
Shannon Elizabeth
Rah Digga
JR Bourne
Synopsis: Arthur and his two children, Kathy and Bobby, inherit his Uncle Cyrus's estate: a glass house that serves as a prison to 12 ghosts. When the family, accompanied by Bobby's Nanny and an attorney, enter the house they find themselves trapped inside an evil machine "designed by the devil and powered by the dead" to open the Eye of Hell. Aided by Dennis, a ghost hunter, and his rival Kalina, a ghost rights activist out to set the ghosts free, the group must do what they can to get out of the house alive.
13 Ghosts Kill Count: 12 according to Dead Meat.
Favorite Kill Scene: Matthew Lillard's character getting his back broken by The Juggernaut.
Favorite Ghost: The Jackal. A mental case murderer who died in an asylum. As soon as he’s let out he runs out of the gate attacking. And the entire movie all the ghosts are slow paced and just chill. Not Jackal. Nope. He wants to play. He’s going to play. Thirteen Ghosts is his movie.

Meet & Greet - Thirteen
Tumblr media
For our first character meet and greet, I'd love to introduce you to one of our fighters, Thirteen. Voiced by yours truly, Thirteen is tough, but not the kind that seems like a front for something else. She's tough because she's had to be.
After all, being forced to fight has left her no choice but to adapt or crumble. The only thing keeping her going is her love for her friends, her faith in the gods, and the hope that they will soon be free.

WAIT WAIT WAIT HANG ON
(spoilers for spire ep 5,,, go listen to spire right now it's a good podcast)
okay so i was thinking and
you know how people make jokes about how like. you're programming a game and there'll be this tiny little thing that seems inconsequential but then you touch it and the whole thing breaks? maybe all the rules and junk they have to follow are like that, like for some reason the simulation can't handle the color blue or mirrors or lying or whatever, and it doesn't cause a "temporal slip", it just causes an error in the simulation that ira was able to exploit?
(also ira definitely knows that they're in a simulation i am 100% positive)
