It's quite funny having followed you for years and years and knowing Machete as his dark, bloodied, cunning (and always on the edge of getting horribly murdered for his hubris) incarnation, and coming into 2024 and just... yeah he's gay now. How would mimic!Cesar handle caffeine? Could he handle caffeine?

Depends on how human he is feeling/considers himself to be as the more human a mimic becomes, the more affected they'll be by things like that. This also goes beyond food and drink to things like medicine, drugs, and alcohol, too. So he'd probably be a bit sensitive to caffeine the first few times he tries it, but he'd eventually become more desensitised if it's a regular thing he consumes. I like to think that the first time he tries an energy drink, they realise that he can never have caffeine around people who don't know what he is because his pupils widen and make the strange cat-like slit shapes that they are far more noticeable lmao

yo this is a place of no judgment and deep compassion bc I'm not being cute or at all joking when I say that I'm addicted. it's a genuine (if relatively benign in the scheme of things) behavioral addiction. in my therapist's words, approximately, it's at least not self-harm or doing coke, lol.

at the same time, it's something I use as a dissociative crutch, and while I've always read a lot, it gained a huge foothold in my life when I worked three jobs, was having significant family drama and health issues, and understandably had no energy or time for enjoyable activities that weren't reading on my phone. and then covid happened. so fanfic was legit something that helped keep me sane and happy, and I'm eternally grateful to all the authors who write and share their work. it's art in the truest sense, in my opinion. this doesn't stop it from simultaneously having become a maladaptive coping strategy that currently hinders me from living life as fully as I want.

there are a lot of other things to that last statement, obviously, and I won't go into it here bc I do have a therapist for that, and also it's personal. but I know without a doubt that I'm not the only person who has trouble with this.

one of the things I've been doing recently is trying to understand why it's so easy to fall into this kind of addiction, specifically how our current techno-cultural landscape plays a role, as well as resilience strategies. I expect I'll be reading and learning for a long time, but on the role of technology and how it relates to our (in)attention culture, I liked:

idk this is incoherent, but something about the found family dynamic between the character with objectively the most “demonic” history and diavolo who is trying to change the devildom for the better and, YES, is framed as being objectively morally “good” for a demon gets me SO MUCH. this is honestly my favorite familial relationship in obey me 🥺

If you mean the dynamic of one party wishing the other would come around, the show itself gives us its opinion of the gender reverse of that:

If Katara spent as much time pining over Aang as he does over her in the original series, while Aang insisted she was like a sister to him, she would be the constant butt of jokes for it. As is evident in the show's consistently poor opinion of girls who pursue boys and the double standard present.

As for whether they would have more kids, I really have no idea. Maybe if Aang were capable of getting pregnant he would become a true nomad and have baby daddies all over the world in order to repopulate his people.

i actually wrote an even MORE perfect middle child: luke, who's the middle child out of the strong boys. who also wasn't there, but who you didn't seem to notice, huh? poor thing, forgotten even by people who speak for the forgotten.

luke wasn't there bc he is still trying to give rhaena space since she's still mad at him. he said his goodbyes to baela beforehand. he recruited joffrey to make it seem less like he was tryna avoid rhaena in particular. joffrey was just happy to an excuse to be without adult supervision bc luke doesn't even try to control him he just lets him run wild. he's probably eating bugs rn.

joffrey already has a fiance: the youngest daughter of lord desmond manderly. they've been betrothed, as per canon, since the beginning of the dance. that's still a strategically important match; white harbor is the north's primary trade port, and the manderlys have already been denied one targaryen match (rip viserra), so it would be problematic to snub them a second time. so joffrey hasn't received any proposals for the same reason luke and rhaena haven't received any: they're already committed to necessary political alliances.

also, i know there are a lot of readers who get very tried up in who has the "best" or "grandest" inheritance in stormbreak or whatnot. but it's not my goal for a character's worth to be tied to that. there are so many characters who have zero inheritance: daemon, aegon the elder, helaena, aemond, daeron, luke, joffrey, rhaena, viserys, even rhaenyra and aemond's future children. not having an inheritance, or only having a title through your marriage, may not be fine for some of the more ambitious characters like baela or jace, but it is fine for a lot of them, and that's okay!
