How is everyone? Hope you are all enjoying this little break, if you celebrate Easter, and if for any reason you didn’t get a break either you don’t celebrate Easter, or you are part of the “holiday working class” I hope you are at least safe and serene 💜. All that said, let me tell you;

It’s incredible what a few days off can do, aye?!

For one I've been very vivid dreams and, for two, I’m actually in the mood of writing posts, would you look at that! AND BY THE WAY I keep forgetting to do this, but I will at some point later today I need to write an advisory note for the Sonyeondan Colosseum as I haven’t been there in a while but I still get aspiring gladiators, who are dying to participate, and albeit fun, at the moment, I really don't have that much time, to provide these fighters with the appropriate match they deserve 😫. So it is only right that I rely the appropriate information, as I do believe I run a fine institution and as such I am sorry for allowing my administration to slack real life suddenly got so busy and interesting that I didn’t, and still don't, have time to play, but who knows what the future holds right?! There just might appear a contender so unique, I might not resist the urge for a little tussle.

Anyways, back to the topic of this post, as it is sort of a continuation of this one → Solstice & Equinox, it is indeed about the Jikook Travel vlog we still no absolutely nothing about, but of which I woke up with thoughts/ideas about, hence, why I’ve placed this post, yet again, in my Silver Lining series 🤡. In my previous post I tried to predict the vlogs' scheduling, in this post I would like to talk about the possible style this vlog might take, while making, as always, educated guesses and also diving into JK’s filmmaking style.

Let’s start right off the bat with:

Also if you are NOT familiar with “Youtuber” Jimin, below is a little summary:

As you can probably tell by some of the ss because there are so many more, believe me!, JM is very enthusiastic about vlogging and, as we all know, JK is very enthusiastic about producing video related content as well as taking it further when he directed Life Goes On for example. Both JM and JK consume copious amounts of video content, be it movies, dramas, anime or shows and they often seem to be watching the same shows as well. Reason why, perhaps, they often seem to be the only privy of their media related inside jokes.

Now, imagine loving to watch shows so much and having as a significant other someone whom not only has so much footage/pictures of you which will never see btw 🤡 but also has the skills to potentially make a show out of you, or with you, because they also enjoy the same thing, what would you do? Sure, you like travelling and he is not too big into that, but some time 7 years ago this person not only took you on a trip, but also found the most memorable way to immortalise this for you, resulting in this person producing more and more travel vlogs. Not sure if JK has come to enjoy travelling, but one thing is for sure; 

he seems to enjoy making one helluva good vlog out of it.

Now, before we get into the reason for my title (Min & Kook or Busan Brother?) let’s look into JK’s filmmaking style THIS IS WHERE I AM SURE I WILL NERD OUT, and in order to do this we will look into two of particular videos, as I feel like their travel vlog could be a mixture of this two: 

VIDEO 1: [BTS VLOG] Jung Kook l CAMPING VLOG

VIDEO 2: G.C.F in Budapest

Let’s start from VIDEO 1. This was a series of vlogs we got from each of the members and were posted on BANGTANTV between July 9, 2022 and December 10, 2022 as always with the Tannies, the actual filming dates may or may not be close to the time they were posted. There are many different types of vlogs out there, because many are the different interests of viewers out there. When looking at our boys, you can clearly see theri vlogs divided in 3 specific types of vlogs:

“HOW TO”-vlog: In this type of video, usually the hosts want to learn to do something, and so they either attempt or they are a master in said craft to do said something, while showing the viewer step-by-step, with the intent/hope that the viewer can learn or feel inspired to want to do it as well.

“CELEBRITY LIFE”-vlog: This type of video, we follow a typical/particular day in the life of a celebrity. There is usually not so much editing done, and it gives very much the feeling of watching a reality TV show.

“TRAVEL”-vlog: These are usually specifically about showcasing cities, spaces, activities. They are very action filled, so they will not have as many static shots as, for example, the previous two themes

Even though JK and Joonie have the same style of vlog, there is something that JK has, which all the other 6 don’t, which is his own “colour”.

JK has a very specific style that is unique to himself within the group, and you can notice in the editing, which makes me think he often takes part in, whereas, even though the type of vlog is different for the other 6 members, the style of editing is the same for all of them. When I say that JK adds his own colour, I mean that, for example, he so often breaks the 4th wall in very conventional and unconventional ways and this is something I've noticed only he does actually in Bangtan. 

Aside from JK’s Film Colour, I do believe that this is also an indication of how long we can hope their travel vlog to be. In the end the main event was camping, with other events as well and it was edited to 45mins, which is a long ass video for this type of vlog, it basically means that they realistically had hours of footage and at least 3 type of campers, which I will get into in my next point.

GCF in Budapest has all of JK’s colours as of 2023. 

This video is the result of 6 years during which he filmed, edited and directed different projects. GCF in Budapest is very professional, and even though he didn’t do the final edit on this, he did direct it, meaning that there wasn’t a single shot that he hadn’t planned, requested or approved of. Basically, JK is the person that instructed other camera-people the times he wasn’t filming himself as to what shot he needed and wanted for the final project, all the way from principal, to secondary, footage I DON’T THINK YOU CAN’T BUT I’M ABOUT TO NERD OUT, RIGHT NOW. Following are the notable structures in this GCF, with related explanations/examples:

Non-static self-filming - This is the typical vlog style where the main subject is filming himself. But in his case he seems to favour this type of shots when he is moving the most, as if he wants us to fill like we are really travelling with him, as opposed to constantly placing the camera on the surface, not moving, and talking. 

B-Roll Footage - is also known as “filler footage”. Usually there is no talking or nothing of importance, but they are quite good for either transitions or comic relief. I LOVE B-ROLL FOOTAGE and JK uses it so well. I believe that b-rolls fit JK so well because of his personality, he tends to space out so often that, in the filmmaking context, this type of footage offers a way to show this dimension of his personality, for example, himself goofing off in the b-roll is perhaps what he does in his head when he is spacing out in real life. 

Traditional filming - This is your typical main subject being filmed by a camera-person. As there seem to be two different angles during this type of shot, there were at least 2 different people filming him I will not go deep into the type of camera/s that were you as this is not that kind of post. 

Establishing shots - This are shots that make the viewer know where and when something is happening, and they are extremely important in film-making, but not really in vlogging as the title of the vlog already tells you where and sometimes when, if not you’ll find out in the dialog you are, but it is exactly this kind of touch that makes his work feel very cinematographic.

All the aforementioned, are characteristics that I am expecting to see in their travel blog and I am soooooo much looking forward to check our the whole crew, if by any chance we get a roll end credit scene 🥹 to be honest, going back to video 1, since they were in each known location for more than a day, they could make at least 2 self-sufficient vlogs but hey ….

JK surely came a long way from GCF in Tokyo, didn’t he? And even though he hasn’t produced a GCF with the same colours ever since, there was something that was:

To me, filming is the art of skilfully deceiving, while  willfully being deceived, during a specific amount of time, after which we all go back to our realities unharmed or “not”, depending on the depth of the film.

Films are like magic.

But what is filming for JK? To be veeeeery honest with you, the person who has a future in acting amongst the Tannies is Kim Taehyung, yet, the two people who can for sure act, on the silver-screen, are Kim Seokjin and Kim Taehyung … so why do I feel like Tae is the only only that has a future in this field? Because Tae can live for and with it. Just knowing how to act is not enough, you have to want to be an actor, for real-real. You know how Hobi breathes dancing? Tae breathes out imaginary characters in a similar way, reason why I can see him having a very prolific career as an actor as well.

Now ... why do I bring this up?

If JK just wanted to become a movie director alongside being the amazing musician he is, he’s had the perfect subject/s to do so. So why has he been so fixated with filming JM? JM is not the type of subject you can use for a long film, sure, he likes to act with his friends, but I don't think that cinema glory is one of his objectives in life I may be very wrong. He can perform/dance like hell crazy for the camera, HANDS FUCKING DOWN, but, once again, serious silver-screen acting isn’t what he wants. So, once again, given a choice of Tae and Jin;

Why JM?

TIME FOR TIN HATS Y’ALL HURRY 👏🏾 HURRY👏🏾 HURRY! 📢

I, Marengo, think that JK had always intended to make GCF in Tokyo as merely a video to preserve the happy memories, during a hard moment in their lives, which they spent together. This video-gift was specifically intended, for JM, in the style that JM mostly appreciated at the time, which might have happened to be YT vlogs. While editing his video, JK perhaps realised that it might have been a bit on the nose, so he added establishing b-roll shots of Tokyo, thinking it might have been enough to divert the attention from JM; but unfortunately failed. For a few reasons, but mainly, the lack of any spoken words in my opinion. 

The thing is that for the purposes of what i think his objective was, words were absolutely not needed. “Look! See how happy you were here! It doesn’t matter how shit things are, we can still be happy; You can still be happy!” In the same way, with Life Goes On he wanted us to see their changed everyday life of the time, the sadness, melancholy and hope they all felt. Words were not needed, and this is the type of filming which is closest to the inner colours of Jeon Jungkook. JK is not the best with words, so I believe that he found in filmmaking a form of expressing himself in a more effective way.

HOWEVER, as we all know, even though Life Goes On was well received, GCF in Tokyo’s main critique was “Where is tokyo? All I see is JM”. Yet, his main purpose wasn’t Tokyo, the shots, the song, the editing, clearly indicated that. Nevertheless, if at the time, JM was indeed his queer interest as I don’t believe they were going steady at the time, he wasn’t going to jump out gun blazing to defend his choice; was he now? No, he left us to believe that he was gonna get better, and next thing he did was add more members and better establishing shots, but never forget; gcf in Tokyo is still there and still something he remembers fondly. 

Now as for the title of this post  😂😂😂. Be it straight, queer, interrational or whatever, there is one thing that most of couple YT channels have in common:

Their channel name is either a union of their name or there is and &/and to join siad names. When JM was pretending to have a channel with JK during this live ��� VMINKOOK LIVE he named their channel MinKook, because he was Min and he was Kook so, MinKook and let’s forget for a second that this actually resulted to be a very funny korean pun. I honestly do believe that if you are a platonic duo on YT you will very rarely use your name with your friends name as it seems like it is a universal YT truth that “” & “” channels are couple channels. So if anything, if JM was talking out of subconscious, he maybe had been watching a lot of YT couple channels, at the time, and thought it okay for them to have a channel name that matched the same energy? …

So my question is: will the channel be named something akin to that couple vibe RISKY AF, WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT?? Or will it be something more like the Busan Brothers name that they are often given … HELLA SAFE, MAKES A LOT OF SENSE? I guess only time will tell!

Yknow something else that rly grinds my gears about TotK's storyline. So in most Zelda games there's always the "King Of Hyrule" w/ no mention of the queen even though there's always the implication that sacred power of the family is matrilineal. This is even made explicit and is a plot point in BotW, and obviously the assumption is that they got this power from SS Zelda's bloodline.

BUT THEN TOTK COMES IN AND IS LIKE "um actually they got this power from a man. The sealing and light power is from Rauru and Sonia has time powers instead. btw we're gonna stick her in the fridge while we're at it. So yeah this power that only manifests in the royal women that is passed down from mother to daughter and is said to be the goddess's power is actually from a man, not a woman you stupid fucking idiot."

But yes, suddenly introducing 'there was a man from a different, Even More Superior race behind the powers that have been solely characterized as belonging to Zelda and associated (though I have very mixed feelings on SkSw) with the Hylian/Zelda's patron goddess' feels pretty damn sexist, especially paired with how Sonia's character is pretty much 'Wife, who is also Motherly' with a very child-of-nature, barefoot and Primal design, because women are Primal unlike men who are smart and science and have robots dont'chaknow. Paired with, yknow, taking away Zelda's pants and her main scientific/technical interest and putting her in a white dress so she can cry and be pure of heart and a sacrificial maiden. It's pretty awful, especially since while BotW is awful about some women, Zelda's character is one of my favorite things from it because she got to be a little less traditionally feminine and had scientific/technical interests.** It's another case of 'it's not just you fucked up, but you fucked up SO badly it's hard to comprehend' in TotK's story and characterization.

The soap General Hospital announced that it is hiring temp writers to write for the show during the writers strike, Will this come back to bite them in the @ss. I know Jeopardy said it was going to reuse clues from previous shows and some Jeopardy champions said that they would be boycotting the Tournament of Champions if Jeopardy did that.

The unions can’t do anything about studios hiring non-union writers.  This was why Heroes went downhill because scab writers were brought in to write season 2.

But that’s not the real problem.

Kids, do you think it’s fair that wealthy A-list actors are working in independent films during the strike while low-tier actors who need the job are walking the picket line in the hot sun?  IMO that’s not showing solidarity.  Sure, be mad at Stephen Amell but these A-list actors are undermining the strike by working on movies (X).   

What’s going to happen is the struck studios are going to buy and distribute these independent films and tv shows and go, see, we don’t need unions. 

I've already mentioned that the independently funded The Chosen is currently filming its 4th season and will be aired on CW.  Btw, I’ve seen the first two seasons of The Chosen and it’s actually pretty good.  The stories are mainly from the pov of the apostles (one has autism) and the Pharisees. This is making something for “the modern audience” done right.

5. worst discord server and why

in terms of servers i've actually been active in, it's gotta be the acc*ss the an*mus server. i'm sure it's still leagues better than the official ac server, which i daren't enter for anything other than checking what's in reda's item shop for the day. but i've found from personal experience (and that of some friends) that almost every big fan community for this fucking franchise will claim to be Not Like Other Girls (of the bigoted, gatekeepy, gamergate variety) before turning a blind eye to bullying, harassment, and bigotry within their own community. ata was no different, and while i did have some constructive conversations with people in there, the nastiness of some of the server members in there which went entirely unchecked made it not worth it. also, people will complain all day long about the stupid little problems they have with gameplay mechanics, etc. but the second you try to have a constructive discussion about ubisoft's many, many problems as a company, everyone is suddenly a ubisoft shill. 💀

what i like about this interview is that is shows how well spoken and intelligent joe was. its also is a rare case of him readily admitting in an interview that hes not working class and yet consciously represents himself as such

joe strummer was a man from a wealthy background and a good education who pretended to be working class for creditably. i dont think badly of him for doing this and i dont think it makes him a bad person. i just acknowledge that its a thing he did. personally i think hes got a good point about it being your life experiences that truly makes you who you are and how you were raised is only part of that. but i also think that fans of joe and the clash should know that hes not the working class hero he hinged most of his brand on being

i think its important to say that i have nothing against the clash. i like to give them a hard time but its out of love. theyre one of my favorite bands and i love reading about them. what i dont love is the obsessive mythologization and lionization of them that leads to the obscuring and twisting of the truth

by ironing out all of the stuff that doesnt fit the myth of the clash or the myth of joe strummer, we dont just loose the truth! we loose part of what makes the clash such a fascinating and impactful band!

short answer is yes i do think stockholm syndrome and complicated freak share her as the muse. definitely agree that complicated freak is pretty unquestionable and that there wasn't anyone else at that time that he was pining so hard for or would've described in that way.

i consider a lot of the stuff thematically in stockholm syndrome (an absolute banger btw) to be more metaphorical "who's that shadow holding me hostage? i've been here for days," "baby, look what you've done to me. baby, you've got me tied down" to me are like, he's so in love with/infatuated by/attracted to her that he can't escape constantly thinking about and wanting to be with her. i don't think it's literal *rihanna voice* ~whips and chains excite me~ as much as it's like, "you're always on my mind and it's overwhelming (and when we're together it's really good)." the song has a lot of elements about fear of commitment and how she's flipped his world and that's exhilarating but somewhat frightening too ("i fear i'm getting used to being held by you," "used to sing about being free but now he's changed his mind." harry also borrows her trick of referencing themselves in the third person there, which she does again in question, i'm just noticing that!). there's a clear sexual component and he, well. he made that joke, but there's a deeper aspect to that too, where he feels like he and his world are being reshaped by the intensity of what he feels for her. ("all my life i've been on my own/i used the light to guide me home/but now together we're alone/and there's no other place i'd ever wanna go" - notice he goes from being on his own to alone together). he sung stockholm syndrome and if i could fly regularly when touring hs1, and of course that's because he wrote them, but the themes also fit well with some of the other songs about this from his debut record.

i think where do broken hearts go is another aspect of this as well and his side of things referenced in ootw/iwyw (counted all my mistakes and there's only one/standing out from the list of the things i've done/all the rest of my crimes don't come close to the look on your face when i let you go/so, i built you a house from a broken home, and i wrote you a song with the words you spoke...the taste of your lips on the tip of my tongue is at the top of the list of the things i want/mind is running in circles of you and me/anyone in between is the enemy/shadows come with the pain that you're running from/love was something you've never heard enough).

the allure/attraction/sexy element definitely appears a lot in her music about him too, even in a softer, more romantic way, the idea of the tide of that love pulling you back in shows up too (lanterns burning, flickered in my mind for only you). definitely why, when you lay their songs side-by-side, they take on that element of unspoken dialogue.

Top 8 Anime (That I've Seen) in 2022

Whew boy, I wasn't expecting last year to be such a whirlwind, but all that doesn't matter now when there's Weeb stuff afoot! For those who are unfamiliar, when I make an End-of-the-year list, I like to do so without handcuffing myself to JUST the releases of the previous year. If you are familiar, you guys know that I typically keep to the usual Top 10 (except that one year when it was 12), but as you can see, I only had time to fit in 8.

Rules:

- If an anime had already made it onto a previous list, a newer season can't make it on.

- I only keep to TV series, so no movies.

- No repeating franchises (i.e. if I saw two different Gundam shows in one year, I can only pick one).

- I'm skipping Honorable mentions this year.

8. Tales of Zestiria (2016)

Definitely not my favorite Tales story, but BOY was this show pretty to look at. Ufotable is what Ufotable does, I guess. Truth be told, I couldn't get into the game that this anime is based on, so I figured that watching the anime would be easier. And it was!

7. Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out (2020)

Ah, yes, one of those shows that upset Twitter. I thought this was an adequately told Rom-Com with our two leads having some decent chemistry together. Looking past the "controversy," it was a perfectly serviceable show.

6. Amagami SS (2010)

This was my surprise of the year. This Slice of Life Romance accomplishes a rare feat amongst its peers: Every girl gets a happy ending! You see, our male protag starts out depressed and lonely, develops a relationship with one of the girls over a 3 episode arc, and then starts all over again. Not only that, but during each arc, the camera shows how the other girls are living their lives and they do just fine without him. Maybe I'm not phrasing it the way I want to, but it's just refreshing showing potential love interests living fulfilling lives without Protag-kun. It does, however, lose points for having some questionable moments with its high school cast of characters. Based on a visual novel btw.

5. Komi Can't Communicate (2021)

I can't be the only one who rolls their eyes whenever a story about an average guy gains the affection of the most popular girl in school. I'm, of course, not rolling my eyes at the premise itself, but rather the quantity of stories like this. This story in particular saves itself by having our titular character stumble their way to success despite their crippling social anxiety. I find it both funny and endearing. I look forward to season 2!

4. Recovery of an MMO Junkie (2017)

Speaking of season 2, I wish this anime had one. I may have mentioned this before about a different anime, but I do find it to be a breath of fresh air whenever we have protagonists who are actually adults. A nerd in their thirties looking for love? Couldn't be me 🙂

3. March Comes in Like a Lion (2016)

I still don't know how Shogi is played, heck I don't even have a handle on Chess, but anyone who has ever seen March Comes in Like a Lion knows that's not why we're here. Again, not Shogi specifically, but knowing that people, regardless of age, have weight of some kind on their shoulders, it's such a shame that that weight is on a character so young. Expectations, anxiety, loneliness; all that can be overwhelming for anybody. I would definitely recommend anyone to seek this out. Bonus, it has music from Bump of Chicken!

2. Spy X Family (2022)

I'm sure most of you guys have seen this. You know.

I'm sure there's still plenty of people who haven't seen this yet. It's Everywhere. You guys STILL know.

This show was the right amount of wholesome I needed last year!

1. Mushoku Tensei (2022)

I would probably have to do some more thinking, but this might be my favorite isekai thus far. Has a well built world AND has utilized the whole reincarnation aspect better than most isekai anime. I would go into it more, but I think I'll make that its own post.

This was a bit late, but at least it's still January, right? Hopefully, I'll be in a better head space this year to make a full Top 10.

[NON-Spoiler 'Super Mario Bros Movie' Review]

Like many others in this fandom I have dreamed of a proper Mario movie or cartoon since forever (Super Show is bad, I'm not sorry, and well, we all know the live action) and today.. I can say I have it.

Let's be honest, It's not perfect, there's some things here and there in this film that needed to be reworked! (For starters Mario's large @ss face design, I adapted to it but what was wrong with the og shape?)

Sad truth is: It had to be mid in something; it's still Illumination.

This product infact suffers a very simple storytelling, not helped by a very fast-paced rythim. Sometimes you may want to take a breather and enjoy slower moments, and more exposition, but nope, gotta go fast, Sonic style. Dang it. I mean c'mon we needed to see at least 5 minutes of the heroes' travel towards the Kong Kingdom, plus the lack of such scenes resulted in a lack of Toad scenes!! SHAME!

Minor bad thing: The power-ups are used so much, to the point they make it look like Mario's got no chances without 'em and it's not right, he's supposed to be strong in regular form. Oh, they are not even 'explained', and hey, before you tell me "It's Mario, you have to turn your brain off" i call BS, Mario with actual lore is\would be the best Mario, and it's totally possible, it's not that hard to make up something like 'they're ancient relycs our ancestors placed around the kingdoms for us to survive this wacky world'. (And, this is more of a personal thought i guess; some animal power-ups should have not been a thing here, i know they're iconic and i love them in the games but in a movie they're just ridiculous on Mario)

That said, "The Super Mario Bros Movie" is a BLAST anyway! Yeah I think the best way to describe it is 'A simple and sweet blast', it took me a while but I'd give it a 7 out of 10 because the main key element this blockbuster needed at all costs (aka what the games miss) is there and it's good: characters' interactions.

Mario and Luigi's bond here is explored so well it can get you teary in few moments. It's the heart of the whole thing. They're THE bros!

And Mario and Peach? Finally with them we get something more than those crumbs the source material had used us to. It's no revolutionary approach; we could, and should, have had more of these two, to be fair, but considering Miyamoto is involved (he is always been scared to touch the love topic since he basically considers it mature stuff) what's in the final cut is already a lot.

DK and Mario's rivarly is spot on, legit funny to witness.

Bowser and Mario scenes are very limited, strange yeah, but I love the basic reason of his hatred for the man. Btw this Koopa King is hilarious yet more villanous than ever before, someone will tell you he's an antagonist with no motivation but it's clearly untrue.

The action is on point, the animation is incredible. (I just wish they didn't spoil most of those goodies with tv spots)

In the end this really is a love letter to almost the entire mario history, it's crazy to think how much of many many games, they incorporated in a single film, and in a way that feels right: from musics to characters and locations, it's phenomenal.

I’m familiar with Naruto since I was young and I was wondering about how you got into the sasori and Sakura ship cause for me it’s very random. What made you ship them instead of the canon ship? You’ve probably answered this before so sorry if I’m asking!

Not at all! That's a really good question. I'll put it under a Read More because 2014 fandom ptsd re the end of Naruto taught me too well.

The tl;dr for why I don't like the canon SS ship is that I thought they had nothing positive in their foundation, which was only made so much worse in the final chapters. There were plenty of opportunities for Kishimoto to show us that they had chemistry and actually cared about each other in a meaningful, non-superficial way over the course of the manga, but bizarrely he did the complete opposite in a way that felt not just careless, but downright malicious at times, especially in the final war chapters. It was honestly offensive to read, even as an anti-shipper, and I found myself feeling really bad for the people who like that ship in the end. What a shit way for their OTP to become canon.

I'm not going to get into the dirty details here because that ship fandom is fucking demented about anti sentiment, even when it's delivered in a respectful way. Frankly, I don't have the time or patience anymore to debate online about a fictional couple in a manga that ended years ago. If people like the ship, cool! I hope they have fun shipping it and making good content for it. I happen not to like it, and I'm extremely comfortable in that camp and always will be.

As for SasoSaku, go re-read the manga where they fight! It's the hottest villain/hero encounter I have EVER read. There are some very compelling takeaways from that fight:

They have diametrically opposed world views, and yet they both demonstrate a willingness (and even a desperation) to understand something about the other's point of view. And they actually accomplish that, to different degrees, in the end. Sasori lets the last attack hit him because Sakura got through to him and made him acknowledge that he had failed, that he had made a mistake, and that he was never truly alone. I think he realized in that last moment that the "life" he was living was no life at all, and that he maybe could have made different choices if Chiyo had done a better job being there for him and if he had let her. It is so staggeringly beautiful that I literally cry. When she yells at him "why is that the only way you can see the world?" and is so angry and so emotional because it feels so personal to her now, I just completely fall apart. If only he could have seen and done things differently, what kind of life could he have led? I think she mourns this in a way, and I think not a single person has ever shown him that type of empathy before now (that he was willing to listen to) and it totally destroyed him.

Sasori is the second person aside from Tsunade to have ever acknowledged Sakura's real power and capabilities--and he is a villain trying to kill her! And he's a rude, entitled, unspeakably selfish person who would rather get stabbed than not get the last word. If that's not a show of the humanity he still has even if he doesn't want to admit it, idk what is. And then he rewards her for killing him? For a dude who keeps berating her about doing pointless things their whole fight, he sure does feel okay doing something completely pointless for her in the end (not for Chiyo, btw, but for Sakura). He took her seriously in this fight, and we saw her feeling so thrilled about showing off her strength and her abilities and how she'd beaten his poison. Sakura was living in this fight, it's all over her face in the panels, and Sasori was living right alongside her as she visibly impressed him each time he thought he'd gotten her and she got right back up and kept going. They were held up as equals in this fight, not necessarily based on shinobi skill alone, but as people with goals and feelings and a violent desire to be seen in the eyes of another they consider truly worthy. I mean, how is this not art and also super fucking hot?

SasoSaku is the first real ship I ever shipped. It was my shipping awakening. I will never forget when that fight first happened in the manga, waiting each week to see what would happen next, and realizing holy shit, this is what the foundation of a real enemies to lovers romance is supposed to be? Go re-read the manga chapters and pay attention to those points I made. I hope it completely blows you away like it did to me!

Stuff I’ve just watched and almost completely did not enjoy

First, Superstore (2015-2021): I watched this show mostly while getting ready for work in the morning or brushing my teeth at night, really just moments where I’m not focusing much and needing to wind up/down, but there were probably only 5 minutes of all the six seasons that I enjoyed even remotely. I know it seems to be a sitcom must-have but really, does every character have to be unlikable? Is that really the only way to depict realness? And I don’t think they were intended to all be insufferable but then again, how could the characters not intentionally have been written that way? Were we actually supposed to feel endeared to their irritating qualities? Which never changed from start to end btw

Did I cry from being utterly moved in the last 10 minutes of the very last episode of the sixth season, yes. Does that mean anything, absolutely not omfg in fact as I’m typing this I’m reminded more and more of how irritating this shit was… and why do Americans only know how to write about or talk about or involve themselves in sex? Musings about Yuri’s benefactor and Nabateans in general.

It all starts with the question, who was Aubin?

A nabatean, or a human?

Aubin is the same old guy who gave his blood to Yuri to save him when he was young - the only precedent for this is Rhea’n’Jerry.

Which is why, it’s widely theorised that only Nabateans can pass down their crest through blood transfusions.

So,

Old Man hated his power and blood? Why?

Is it some sort of Aeneid spin-off where the old lizard man resented his blood because it meant he wasn’t “human” and was a monster?

Or, and even sadder, Aubin resented his blood because, hey, his blood and his crest stone are the reasons why people (Nemesis’n’Dudes) want to dissect him, which leads to a very uncomfortable “if only I wasn’t born as X because I don’t want to die but some people really want to erase all X from the surface of the planet”.

And this makes me think, in FE16′s nonsensical SS final boss, Seteth mentions that Rhea is actually the carried of the “Pride of Nabatea”, something he will inherit at her death. Did Aubin resent his condition as a Nabatean, being ashamed of being one or at least hated being a Nabatean, because it paints a giant target on his back?

It might be a reason why Aubin didn’t join Seiros the Warrior back then, if he was too afraid of humans and of being dissected if rains falls and the hair dye vanishes.

Which is even sadder, all things considered because...

Flayn’s hairstyle is dictated by this need to hide the fact she is a Nabatean.

Seteth likes it when it is “not tied up”, aka the current hairstyle she has, but does he like it because he finds it cute, or because it’s the only one that successfully hides her ears?

Being a Nabatean means those people had to die their hair, hide their ears and hide their true nature from humans. And we know Aubin, at least, hated being “a Nabatean”, resenting his blood.

Rhea apparently takes pride in being a Nabatean, but even proud!Rhea cannot do her hair like she wants, and we know still used hairdye 200 years ago.

FFS, even if the crap S-Support, Rhea wonders if people can truly wish for her happiness after learning she’s a Nabatean 

Can you still say such things to me, even after witnessing my...other form?

No matter how pround Rhea is of her heritage, she still thinks humans/people in general cannot wish her any good if they know she’s a Nabatean

Will Rhea and Flayn and Seteth be able to show their ears in a future Fodlan? Who knows. Will they be terminated because their ears are pointy? idk.

Will Dimitri welcome them all in Faerghus and give reassurance that no matter the shape of their ears, to him they are still people he would like to befriend/thank/drink tea with?

I wasn’t expecting anything about Nabateans from 3Nopes, but the casual “btw Aubin hated his blood” (thus his own race) made me so sad you have no idea. Seteth’s happy at least in his final moments he found peace, but damn :’(

Scientists Squad

I finally post it, Yay! :D Sooooo, here ya have Scientists Squad. Let me short it - SS. Yes, it’s like short form “Storyshift”, I know =w=

So, Scientists from SS are - Lamef, Numbert, Simon, Bratty and Catty. Yes, those last two are this suprise, but unfortunetly someone guess correctly who are those robotics specialists from game. 

I need to tell, that though everyone from SS are specialists from something else, everyone of them has knowledge from other fields. They’re just specialist from their field becuase they have best knowledge and skills, and they taking this role in th squad. 

Now, I’ll tell something about everyone of them separatly. (BTW, I had terrible problem with pictures TwT)

First - Simon. So, well... SNAKE! ARMS! GLOVES FROM OLD CARTOONS!

I’ll explain that for a moment. First - Simon is snake monster with good programming skills. He is programming specialist. He was hacker in the past (but not type of hacker that Chara is...). His family knew about what he was doing and they didn’t approve of it. But, when kingdom needed scientists, they talked him into this function. He finally agreed and now, he making money legally, working for community instead of hacking and stealing. 

Yea, he was clever son of the... pair of another snake monsters. He actually still is clever, but he’s good pal now. Unfortunetly, he is also impetuous. Most of people know to DO NOT MAKE HIM ANGRY. That is one reason why does he usually works in quiet place, where is no other people. Second reason is that he simply likes being alone and needs silence to focus.

And yes, as snake monster he doesn’t have arms, BUT roboticts specialists made for him robotic arms. Thank to this it’s easier for him to use keyboard and mouse. And why does he have those gloves? Becuase they’re cool!... And I’m into Cuphead and it’s Show too much ._. + Yes, he usually looks pretty short compared to others in the squad, but actually he is not that short. He is long. 1,84. This pose is just comfy for him.

And here is criousty - Simon was drawn based on the longest snake in my country. Aesculapius Snake.

Next, about Lamef. As I said, a hot gal, huh? Of course, she is chemistry specialist. Yea, she’s same type of monster as Grillby, but she isn’t related to him. She doesn’t have any bad past, like Simon does. She just finished education, had qualifications and went to the work. The kingdom needed scientist, so she decided it might be good work.

Lamef is pretty calm and quiet person. She doesn’t have any problem to concentrate, even in noise. She is able to work alone and in team. She just working and giving her best. Even though having important function, after work she is just normal person. Ya know, grey person from background. 

By the way, probably everyone notice that, but if you take “F” from end of her name and put it at beginning we have “Flame”. Yea, I cannot into anagrams =w=

Numbert, biology specialist... well, SS don’t really have a leader. However, Numbert often takes this role. He is very conscientious about his work. He always giving his best and even watches over others’ work. Work is only thing that he talks about with his co-workers and he isn't laid back at all. That is why his co-workers doesn't really like him and thinks that he's boring.

The truth is that he is just very conscientious as I said. After work, he shows more dreamy and unprofessional demeanor. While in work he is cold and professional, then after it he is carefree and sympathetic.

Actually, only co-worker with he has more friendly relationship than professional is Lamef.

And I have to say one more thing... I LOVE HIS NAME! I mean, his name is from word “numb” and names like “Hubert” or “Albert”.

So.... BRATTY AND CATTY! Like ya see, they’re looks more professional, but I still wanted to left some elements from their old style.

When they heard that royal scientist function is unoccupied they decide that they could teach theirselves something about various fields of science and get this job. Why? Well... Mettaton! That is why they are robotics scientists - to could work on their beloved TV Star. After all, Undyne is queen in this AU. They didn’t have to get to much knowledge to Undyne recognized them as a nerds and hire them.

Bratty and Catty haven’t taken this work seriously at the start. But the time spend in this job let they be more responsible and less lighthearted. While in the game they acted more like teenagers, here they still have some behaviors like this, but they act more like fully mature women

And criousty - In Undermouring “Bratty and Catty” are just a nicknames. They’re actually Britney (Bratty) and Catherine (Catty). Formally they are Doctor Britney and Doctor Catherine. But everyone call them just Bratty and Catty ;P

So! That was Scientist Squad. I hope you like some of new charackters. Maybe Bratty and Catty weren’t suprise, becuase someone guessed that it was they . . . but stil! Hope ya like them and now, let’s just left a candle for poor Alphys [*]
