I need to say something...
I've seen quite a few Buddie fans confused and ashamed on my dash lately. Mostly because they feel guilty for not liking Tommy or the bucktommy storyline for various reasons. Some of them even feel anxiety about how the storyline will proceed and resolve. I responded to one of those posts earlier and I'm going to post my response here again for everyone who needs to hear it:
Never feel bad about not liking a character or a storyline. This is fandom and in my opinion all takes are valid. Take it from someone who has been in various fandoms for 24 years now. (Yes, I am that old ;)
If it will make you feel a little better: I don't particularly like Tommy that much either. I mean, I don't hate him but I feel pretty neutral about him. I can superficially see that he is a good guy that likes Buck. And I love him for making Buck feel good and helping him out of the closet. Let it be known that I'm a big fan of bi Buck and I'm so happy that 911 went there with him.
But personally I'm pretty 'meh' about Tommy and when he leaves in a couple of episodes I'll be okay with that. I've also seen some people that have fallen in love with him and want to keep him around. All these takes are valid and more than okay. As long as you respect other people's opinions and thoughts about a character it's all okay. Don't go out of your way to hate-post about him, because you aren't a 14-year old and it's just really distasteful. But, you also can't force yourself to like a character if the feeling is not there.
The same goes for a storyline. I'm okay with the bucktommy storyline at this moment, but I do want it to be temporary, because I want Buddie in the future. And yes, if bucktommy were here to stay, I would be very disappointed in that storyline. I haven't been watching, waiting and hoping for Buddie for 6 years to end up with both guys in another relationship.
And again, that is a valid take and those are valid emotions. It's all okay as long as you are respectful towards the people that do love Buck and Tommy together.
I cope with it by curating my fandom experience. I block haters (whether they hate on Buddie or Bucktommy), avoid bucktommy fanfiction and stay away from the bucktommy tag on Tumblr.
I don't avoid posts on my dash or in the Buddie or spoiler tag that are also tagged bucktommy. I read them, like or respond to some of them. Sometimes I even reblog them if they are interesting and have a link to Eddie or Buddie.
Lastly, don't give up on Buddie yet. I have a feeling things might get interesting the next couple of episodes. Only time will tell if I'm right about this.

A couple of weeks ago I made this post where I said hat I’m under the impression that some of you guys have never written an exam where you had to analyze a piece of media before, and I just wanted to clarify what this was about as it comes up every time we’re having gay mike/bi mike discourse in the tag.
My post was never about people’s analysis skills, it was about the mere fact that analyzing media is an exam format. Which would not be possible if…?
You guessed it! “Every interpretation is equally valid because everyone interprets things differently”.
If this was the case exams where you have to analyze a piece of media couldn’t be graded and thus wouldn’t exist. But they do exist because correct and incorrect interpretations are a thing!
See, your teachers have this sheet for grading those kind of exams which features the correct interpretation which is what the creator of the source material that you’re supposed to analyze intended with their work. There will be people who will actually pick up on the creator’s intentions and then there will be people who won’t. And how close you are to the correct interpretation determines wether you’ll get a good or bad grade.
Simply because everyone having their own interpretation doesn’t equal everyone having a correct interpretation which then again means that...?
You guessed it again! Not every interpretation is equally valid!
And the same exact thing goes for Stranger Things!
So pointing out that not every interpretation is equally valid, or rather pointing out that gay Mike is more valid than bi Mike does not make anyone biphobic. We’re not saying that gay people are more valid than bi people, we’re saying that the show supports gay Mike while it does not support bi Mike thus making one interpretation more valid than the other.
And while I’m at it, let me clear up another misunderstanding:
When people say that the bi Mike interpretation is rooted in heteronormativity they do not mean that simply thinking that someone is bi is heteronormative thinking. They mean that the evidence for bi Mike is rooted in heteronormativity as a lot of it stems from thinking that Mike must be attracted to girls simply because he was dating one. And especially because the show actually actively works against the interpretation of Mike being attracted to girls by not showing any kind of attraction to girls from his side outside of melvin as well as invalidating any possible attraction to El with the use of family parallels, there is just no other explanation as to why people think Mike is attracted to girls other than heteronormativity. That’s all that is.

I'm an amature writer and artist, but can I paint a picture for you? You don't even have to say anything about it, all I ask is that you
don't look away.
There's a woman holding two children's hands. One is standing next to her, crying and whimering quietly. She's looking directly at you, with a not quite accusing glare and a face covered in dirt and dust and her own blood. The other is hidden away on a hospital bed under a sheet. The woman holding the children's hands is their mother and she is screaming, begging in a language I don't understand, but then, agony has never needed words, has it?
Ah, my apologies, that's a rather cruel image, isn't it. Here, let me try again then, just
don't look away.
There is fifteen people in the front of a picture, and many more in the back. Of the fifteen people, five are children. One is a small child strapped to an older man's chest with a baby carrier. A second stands near the same man's legs holding a sign in a language I cannot read. A third and forth stand together wearing matching outfit's and standing together holding another sign in that same language. The fifth stands to the left of the fourth and third. He looks younger than those two, but still older than the second and the first. There's an older woman holding a boquet of flowers and there's several younger women in the photo too. In total, there's six women. There's four men in the picture with them. The caption of the photo is in a language I do know, announcing that they are the Hattab family. In that same caption, it also says that every one of them are dead.
Oh my, that was too harsh as well, wasn't it? Let me try again, one more time, just
don't look away.
There's a beautiful young woman, with curly hair and nice skin and and makeup on. She's sitting in a well lit library, with her face leaning on her manicured hand. She has long white painted nails. The library in the background is clean and organized, and the woman is also sitting by a window that lets more light into the room. The woman looks a bit annoyed, as if she just had to deal with an especially loud gnat or another equally small thing that she didn't like. There's a caption on the image, it reads "111 days. Impossible to go back to normal." She does not look at all alarmed or scared, or hungry or thirsty, and she does not look hurt. There's another caption on the same image that was written by another person. It reads, "This is how you know that it is a genocide and not a war. One side is being murdered and enduring unimaginable suffering 24/7. The other side is relaxing in cafes complaining about being scared of an undefined threat, in between living their lives as normal. This is not war. It is genocide."
If you haven't guessed by this point, I am not talking about something false. This is written descriptions of images and videos of the current genocide of palestine. I write this as a person who is not of either country, and nor am I in any way related to any person on either side of this war.
I cannot look aside. I refuse to look aside from this. All I ask is that you do the same. Let the world watch, let the world see, and
don't look away.

I have to admit though (since this is where I am right now), show Ned and Catelyn just give me that parents vibe, you know. Sean Bean and Michelle Fairley definitely = actually mother and father to me.
But book Ned and Cat? Dilf and milf. 100% too hot to handle. Like I'd bring "mommy" and "daddy" into the asoiaf universe just for them.

I'm sick and tired of people acting like transfem hypervisiblity is a privlage because it is not, hypervisiblity is not a privlage for any minority as it puts a target on their back
And even then most transfem rep is fetishy and/or a transmisogynistic charicture
Stop being this up when transfems talk about transmisogyny

personal disclaimer: i generally do not treat blocking as a very serious thing. i used to be hesistant on pressing that button until my friends helped me overcome my fear of upsetting people i barely knew.
if i block somebody it isn’t always to be taken personally. there are ideas, art, and certain corners of fandom that make me uncomfortable and i will absolutely block people over these things and it means nothing more than i do not want to see it.
it doesn’t mean i am demonizing you or think you’re doing something wrong just by drawing what makes you happy.
i’ve had people get very pissy with me in the past over this, including people who i had never interacted with prior somehow finding out i’ve blocked them and getting extremely angry at me for it. i do not appreciate it.
i’m allowed to have boundaries.

Luu Kah: See, I can be nice when I want… [Ramsey raises an eyebrow and a tiny smile twists his lips.]
Script format isn't narration through the pov of a character, so it cannot be said explicitely, but what crosses Ramsey's mind here is basically "I know you are nice anyway even if you like to pretend you're not"

Spica and you share a bed. Usually he comes to bed when you are already asleep, and he gets up before you wake up. That is common.
But something you may begin zo notice is how he wakes up. He turns off the alarm and looks around. In the cold season of winter, he will wrap you into his blanket.
And then the boring part of his routine begins.

Okay, now that we had our fun with memes and proclamations of independence, can we finally acknowledge that Elizabeth was not what's wrong with British empire? That she was not the one forcing the monarchy on others and it's actually a big number of people who benefit from it? That English people like to feel like they are more and better than everyone else (a trait very common in citizens of all colonial powers) and that is why they never got rid of her, cos they like their knights and their earls and their dukes and whatnots? That it was the English, who didn't care about Andrew and his scandals that made it silent, not the Queen intervention. They didn't have a problem to threaten monarchy about Diana. They could have done the same about Andrew. But they didn't. Let's stop pretending Elizabeth was the one that stopped the independence of Scotland when it was people like JK Rowling persuading people to vote 'No' cos she has a castle in Scotland but is English. The reason for voting against the independence at that time for many Scottish people was that they wanted to remain in EU and two years later, English voted the country out of the EU (just look at the map of where 'Leave' won), and screwed all those in Scotland that needed EU help to keep their agriculture livelihood going for example. This is just the past decade. So can we please stop pretending that an old woman who couldn't even vote was responsible for all the evil English put out there? Can we finally acknowledge that the establishment was neither founded nor enforced by her but that there is a huge number of people who like it that way and benefit from it and that is why it is still in place? Can we stop shitting on a dead old woman and finally hold the English accountable?

i just realized i am the same age as the yr characters,,, why are people criticizing them i can barely make dinner without setting the house on fire. i can’t drive never mind be in a national scandal. i am doing geometry and chemistry. THEY are doing geometry and chemistry. i didn’t even connect that they are the same age as me because they handle things much better than real 16 year olds
Tumblr media
Yes. They are children. Some fans are way too hard on them. They're all victims of circumstance and shitty upbringing. Simon and Wille are victims of revenge porn. They're all fucked up kids.
I think we place way too high of expectations on how they're supposed to handle this. Even with Wille denying the video, what did we want him to do? His mother was making that decision for him and he was going to listen to her. She's his mother. He's a child. He's sixteen.
And we get mad at Simon for acting impulsively sometimes. He's sixteen. We get mad at Sara for being selfish. She's seventeen. We get mad at August for being a dick. He's eighteen.
Obviously, Sara and August do things later on that totally constitute our anger towards them, but before those moments, they're still just teenagers.
They're all children. Even the worst of them. We need to not forget that and understand that not all of their communication skills are completely developed. The fact that they communicate as well as they do is incredible.

absolutely baffled when people are like "bob odenkirk doesn't need to be good at acting he's just like jimmy mcgill". like. bitch. jimmy is literally this little colorful guy who franctilly runs around all day waving his hands and wanting to be noticed while screaming at the top of his lungs that he loves his wife so much and like even i dunno the dalai lama would end him in the span of 6 seconds if he was in a room with him. bob is like "😐 life is full of horrors and i really suck but i guess dogs are cool and i love my wife". bitch the only thing they have in common is being prime wifeguy material

I've come to look up to Wilbur in the recent months and I genuinely enjoyed his content.
Still, hearing about the situation didn't really surprise me. It hurts, and I'm incredibly disappointed, but I'm not really surprised by this. There were too many situations in vlogs/streams/etc where his behaviour actually scared me and i forcefully had to remind myself that most of it was just bits.
While I have never watched her content, I hope that Shubble will be alright. Her decision to speak up about this was incredibly brave and she has my utmost respect for that.
Please do not force any of the CCs (especially in regards of those who were close to Wilbur) to speak up about this. We do not actually know them. We don't know what they are going through. News like these are a shock and they deserve time to process everything that has happened and possibly come to terms with it.
