#three sentence (ish) fic ask game

Hi, I don't know if you're still accepting three sentence requests but Valewis and "it's always been you"... I'm so emotional about them rn
“For how long?”
Valtteri’s chest feels like it’s caving in and he presses a fist into his stomach.
Lewis shrugs, not looking at him as he unties the laces of his shoes. “I don’t know, man. Maybe, like, 2019?” He pauses, face scrunching. “Definitely before 2020 anyway.”
“Right. Okay, okay, okay.” He needs to sit down. He does. The room still seems to be spinning.
“Hey,” Lewis is saying, voice low and soft, and he’s looking at Valtteri now, one shoe off and one shoe on. “Are you alright?”
Valtteri swallows, hands flat on his legs, fingers digging into his race suit. “Yeah, yeah, uh, no? No, um, I just, this is all a bit of a shock?”
“Oh.” Lewis squints at him. “You mean you really didn’t know?”
“No!” Valtteri tries to breathe. “No,” he tries again, tasting each word. “No, I didn’t know you have been in love with me for years.”
“Oh,” Lewis says again, frowning. “Are you, uh, are you sure? ‘Cause, like, everyone knows? So i guess I just figured you did too and we just weren’t talking about it ‘cause we both knew and it wasn’t a thing ‘cause you knew that I knew that you didn’t love me back and it was all cool.”
Valtteri blinks. “I — you knew — what.”
Lewis exhales shakily, starting to look a little wide eyed, starting to look like how Valtteri feels. “Hey, I, uh, I really thought you knew, man. I swear to god I wasn’t lying to you, or, or, keeping secrets, or —“ His palms are spread, arms open.
Valtteri can’t think. That you didn’t love me back. What the fuck.
“It’s just,” Lewis is still going. “It’s just always been you, you know? And, like, I know I’m not very subtle and everyone knew so I — how did you not know?”
“I don’t know,” Valtteri says, sounding very far away. “The same way you didn’t know I loved you back, I guess.”

Hmmm.... how abouttt... Soul, for your ask game :)
"The last time I did this, Mumbo took a part of my soul," Grian hums, poking around the small chamber he's in. Zedaph looks up from his clipboard. "Is this safe?"
"Well..." Zedaph places a hand on a red, comically large lever. "Most people ask that before they step into the chamber."
A spark of panic— "Wait, Zed-"
The lever is flipped, machinery whirring to life. Delight shines in Zedaph's eyes, "Have fun in there!"

Six(ish) Sentence Sunday
Tumblr media
Don't forget, Fandom Trumps Hate bidding opens 8am EST on March 5th! Details of my offerings are here, and a roundup of all the RWRB offers can be found here.
Remember a couple days ago when I said thanks to the people who tagged me in the WIP ask game but my list had just hit 62 and I couldn't be bothered writing them all out? Well, welcome to #62. I watched a film, realised how many fics I've read based on it across a ton of fandoms in the last couple of decades, entered some sort of weird fugue state, and then there was a Google Doc open. As usual.
2019 Outside Kensington Palace, with the car waiting to take him back to the royals’ private airstrip, Alex seriously considers taking Henry’s phone out of his hand and plugging in his phone number. It’s the same tug in his gut that led him across a Buckingham Palace ballroom to poke and prod at Henry’s perfect princely veneer; the one that dragged him across the room to introduce himself at Rio; the one that used to pull him out of his bedroom and into June’s to open a magazine.  But that’s not what’s happening here. They’re not friends, even if Alex did see a glimmer of something resembling a personality while lying elbow to elbow with Henry on the dusty floor of a cupboard. It’s a PR stunt, nothing more, and they both have people who are literally employed to make sure they both come out of this looking good. No point in complicating it. In the end, Alex only reaches out when it’s time to shake Henry’s hand in farewell, and then he climbs into the back of the car and ignores the nagging sensation of something left unfinished. 2029 Alex rolls out the crick in his neck as he steps off the plane in Austin, his shoulders relaxing with every step into the familiar terminal. A couple of months into his second congressional term, he’s only just starting to feel like he really has a handle on the House schedule and the punishing weekly commute back and forth between Texas and DC—but just because he doesn’t have a spouse and kids to come home to like many of his colleagues on the Hill, it doesn’t mean he’s not still spending as much time in his district as he possibly can. Even if it does mean he has an even heavier reliance on caffeine than he did during college and more frequent flyer miles than he’ll ever know what to do with.

wip wednesday
thanks for the tag @oh-stars!
i'm working(ish?) on chapter four of back in the new york groove but mostly just playing around with some ideas for my ongoing onslaught of @steddiemicrofic cake fics that i'm posting in the lead-up to my birthday next week 😇
BUT since i'm working on a bunch of different things instead of one thing in particular, i'm going to do this poll style instead of game style (but also feel free to send me game prompts, below the cut)
no pressure tags (but i know you probably have wips going on 👀) – @simplebtromance @riality-check @imfinereallyy @steddieasitgoes @lexirosewrites @thorniest-rose @viviseawrites and also @satanssugar even though you're not even in this fandom 😭 (but if you do actually watch st please feel free to come yell at me about steve harrington)
ask game options if you want to send them to me!!
Word game: Send me a word and if it’s in my fic I’ll post the snippet it’s in. If not I’ll write three sentences and post those.
Scene game: Send me a pair (or group) of characters and if there’s a scene between the two (or more) of them I’ll post the snippet. If not three new sentences.
Chapter snippets: Send me a chapter number and (if I have it) I’ll post a snippet and do a quick edit session on the chapter.
Trope game: Send me a trope you think is in my fic. If it is I’ll post the snippet. If not three new sentences.

fuck yeah I'll come talk to you! my goodness. I've long been hesitant to send asks to blogs I don't know or consider popular.
I followed you for your pjo writing, so I was very surprised to find out that your url is from matthew stover's ROTS novelisation. two-ish years ago I watched star wars for the first time and fell in love with the prequels, it is probably still the fandom I most interact with on here.
I notice most (all?) of your star wars fics on ao3 are sequel things. I haven't seen the sequels yet because of general negative internet sentiment towards them. although this is bad logic because the internet feels negatively about a lot of great things, including ("great" is subjective I suppose) the prequels.
as someone who still mainly associates you with pjo, I guess I'm just curious about you and star wars in general. did you watch the movies when they first came out? or did you, like me, discover them later? and would you care to make a case for watching the sequels?
and as an aside - how do you feel about anon asks. do you prefer when people are non-anon?
truly genuinely i dont think i've ever met a person on this website, Popular Online or not, who has been upset about receiving genuine asks. LIKE as someone who prefers to be approached rather than to approach people i very understand the reticence to make contact, but if you ever have hesitance because your brain is like 'ooooh they aren't gonna want to talk to meeeeeee' i really truly think you can let that one go. esp because anon is an option - the worst thing that happens is that someone doesn't respond, which is also not personal and is usually related to brain death on the part of the person receiving the ask
BASICALLY i really think that most people making themselves available on the social media want to use the media to be social - if they didn't, they'd close their ask box.
MAN okok i love to talk about a personal fandom history LOL star wars is a weird one for me! i came into the fandom extremely sideways - while it turns out i had watched at least one of the prequels in theatres as a child, i had somehow wiped all memory of them from my mind, leaving only a residual obsession with padme amidala's lipstick lingering in my hindbrain
so my first Real Encounter with star wars as a fan concept was via Livejournal Role Play lolol, the premise of which is that you would roleplay as characters either in an AU setting, or an isekai-your-character-was-captured-from-their-home-world-somehow setting. so i was playing sakura from naruto in a harry potter/final fantasy fusion AU (there's a fun sentence) when someone joined the game with Jaina Solo from the star wars extended universe, and i just thought the character and player were the fucking coolest?
so that's how i ended up learning about like, the post-original Star Wars trilogy EU books first LMAO and then eventually i watched the original trilogy and re-watched the prequel trilogy (this was back in 2009/10 so sequel series were not on the horizon at all). i rp'd a bunch of star wars characters in a bunch of games (most notably middle aged Leia from the later EU books and a man called Kyp Durron who i refuse to believe was not the template and inspiration for kylo ren), and also played the Knights of the Old Republic games, and eventually helped create and moderate an rp based on those games. so my first star wars creative endeavors were very rp based, and kotor based, and any fic i was writing at the time was like, kyp durron and alyss from a ya novel adaptation of alice in wonderland are falling in love in the harry potter/final fantasy fusion setting where we also included pokemon so kyp has a shuckle for a pet because jaina gifted it to him as a gag. all that fic is littered around the internet - lj accounts and dreamwidth accounts and defunct aim group chats, where you'd write stuff for like the three people who were into your extremely, impossible to replicate cross canon ship instead of doing your stats homework, it was heady shit.
the username came about after i decided to abandon my old internet handle/identity of 'feilyn' lolol. basically i made up 'feilyn' as a name for myself when i was like 15 and used it everywhere, which resulted in most online friends i made at the time calling me 'fei', which in turn got cuteified into 'feibean', which is what i originally called this blog right up until someone sent me an ask going 'hey feibean' and i went oh NO i HATE that, and decided that i needed a username that was like, Poetic and Pretty
the funniest part to me is that i hadn't actually read the stover novelisation at that time? i just knew about the passage it came from because a friend had quoted it at me before and i was like oh that's Beautiful. so i did probably the most pretentious thing in the process of making a pretentious internet handle, which was to refer to a thing i hadn't actually read (i have since read the novelisation LOL and highly recommend it to anyone into star wars i general, but especially if you feel the prequels had Great Themes and Poor Execution - the book does a much better job at the execution part)
SO by the time the sequel movies were announced i had been into star wars for like, 5, 6 years? and it had been a staple part of not only my creative life but also my social and romantic life, so i was primed to be fucking obsessed. at that point i wasn't journal rping anymore, and most of my creative energy was split between fic (pjo and grisha at the time) and trying to make my original book idea work (it did not), and i had gotten into the groove of Writing Fic For An Audience.
and then the first sequel movie came out and i fucking loved it! like sure it was a little derivative, but it had so much of what i loved about star wars in it, and it especially helped that kylo ren really did seem like a kyp durron expy, and i was right in the middle of my weird heterosexual lesbianism phase where all i wanted to write was Overpowered Man Gets Stepped On By Brunette Teenager He Underestimated so reylo hit me like a fucking freight train.
i think in the first month after that movie came out i wrote like, 21 fics in he space of a month. i went to my first ever music festival and was just lying in the tent writing fic on the budget smart phone i had bought so my actual phone didn't get stolen. it was SUCH a flurry of creative energy for me, because star wars before that point had been not a dead fandom, but certainly not a fandom that had a lot of Fic-Centric Life in the spaces i was in, and the movie brought so much new blood and voices and interest and readers to the canon. so if i told people i felt like writing x thing and asked for prompts, i'd get like 10 or 12 requests at a time - more than i could fulfill, certainly, but also so many that it really fed the fire of my interest and determination to Provide Content
and then, you know, the Drama and the Discourse and the weird creation of shipping as identity where people became A Reylo instead of shipping reylo, and this formation of Antis as a thing, and on and on until fandom in general becomes this place of adversarial combat that is supposed to reflect on your ethics and moral as a person and Oh Man i do remember being exhausted by all of these arguments at the time (and now tbh, but these days i am not actively participating in them). eventually i dropped out of star wars as a fandom from like, creative and discourse burnout i think, and also my relationships with the friends i shared the fandom with were changing, and i was also changing as a person and then TROS came out and was really a death knell to any joy i'd gotten out of the fandom or canon from that point.
as for a case for watching the sequels - i think if you can watch them without needing them to Be Anything In Particular, you can have a good time with them. like, for example, i think TROS was an objectively bad fucking movie, but i had a lot of fun when i watched it because i went it with a baseline of curiosity about how or if abrams could pull this off, and the answer was 'by trying to split every fandom argument of the last 4 years down the exact middle' and 'no, he can't pull it off'. that shit isn't a movie, it's a video response to every star wars trending topic between 2015-2019. and at the time of viewing, this was very fucking funny to me. i had a ball.
SO if you can watch them with the contextual understanding of like, these are massive corporate enterprises created by committee, with different people at the helm of different movies who had very different understandings on what the point of this trilogy was, i genuinely think they can be a good time. there's pew pew lasers, there are some real affecting moments, and there is a lot of bewildered amusement to be had at nature of attempting to create Billion Dollar Art.
if you are looking for a story that is going to leave you feeling fulfilled and as though the creators had consideration and respect for either their viewers, their actors, or the story they were telling, then give them a pass. like i really really think there is a lot of fun and interest to be had in watching the sequels for both 'here is a space fantasy laser fun time' reasons and 'what does art look like when it's primary purpose is to create obscene amounts of wealth based off the nostalgia of nerds but also the concept of modernising a franchise for the 21st century' reasons, and these are both big reasons why i engage in any kind of media LOL
but i also understand the special place star wars holds in a lot of people's hearts, and not wanting to engage in material thatg feels like it has sucked a lot of the joy out of that special place is always legit. so like, if you are intrigued, give them a shot, and if you find yourself hating the experience then stop watching. trust ur heart babe
FINALLY i have no strong opinion on whether people are anon or signed in! it's all about your comfort level truly, i do not put emphasis on one mode or another. sometimes people will send me something signed in and ask me to respond privately, which i am always happy to do, and sometimes people will send messages anon, but identify themselves as like 'oh im the anon who asked about sunflowers, i'm sunflower anon'. SO YEAH whatever combination of identifiers is personally comfortable for the person sending the ask is how i prefer people to communicate.
THANK U for ur ask clearly i love to Talk & Engage and i appreciate u giving me the opportunity <3 <3

6 and 18 for the writers questions ask!
Thank you, sandalaris! 🥰
6. Do you have any kind of consistent writing schedule or just hoping for the best?
Right now, hope for the best. 😅
Used to be very consistent ... then my colon exploded and almost killed me. 🙈🙊 Health and physical/mental healing takes precedence. Before last year, creating largely did. (How else could I churn out 200 @those70scomics then write/revise a fanfic and get them all out in a relatively short amount of time? Now, I'm happy to get one or two days a week to write for a few hours. A temporary situation but my current one.)
18. What is your most and least favorite part of writing?
Favorite, a tie. First, I love the initial creation I do in my mind. I essentially write the outline / first draft mentality. Second, the first revision. Once I have my first draft on the page, I enjoy greatly reading it and being in editor-mode to make it better.
Least favorite, also a tie (ish). The final revision: the words-used-too-many-times per chapter check and the resulting changing of sentences. I did this for One Difference: Jackie and Hyde Don't Kiss (Over the Summer) meticulously. I stayed up until three a.m. too many nights. It was tedious, and I hated every second of it. (That's the only fic where I had to switch to a chapter posted every-other-week schedule relatively consistently.)
I don't do this (much) with fanfic anymore. I'm likely the only person who notices. Regardless, the cost-benefit ratio isn't worth it.
My other least favorite part of writing is getting the first draft out of my head and onto the page. Much of it is fun to do, but I also feel different kinds of pressure at the same time. I don't edit or revise (mostly) during a first draft, but I've got a ton of writing technique I incorporate into that first draft (too much to list). That's why my first draft on the page resembles more of a second draft (unless I start with my outline/first draft hybrid style).
I write myself revision notes, which helps with the pressure. Anything from a character name change to remember to describe the weather in this scene consistently (and his the characters experiencing it) to change X plot point to Y plot point (with detailed instructions).

1 and 23 for the writers’ ask.💜
Thank you!
What’s something new that you tried in a fic this year? How did it turn out and would you do it again?
Apart from a new(-ish) fandom, which doesn't really count as I switch basically every year, I've tried my hand at bullet-point fics! They're pretty popular in the Silmarillion fandom, perhaps because we so often end up with AUs where you have to describe time spans of several hundred years and no one wants to do this in text xD.
I think it turned out fine (finished one here, WIP here) and I will and am doing it again! It's fun, it's a laid-back way of writing where you can mix angst and humour in the same sentence, it takes off a great deal of the pressure.
23. Share the final version of a sentence or paragraph you struggled with. What about it was challenging? Are you happy with how it turned out?
From your veins are empty of dust:
She feels the bounds snap, snap, snap, only minutes apart. She collapses in the street, and the paint buckets in her hands spill around her, yellow and blue flowing into her red hair like a painting.
I struggled with it because, well, how the fuck does one write a mother losing three of her sons at once and feeling them die? This fic errs toward poetry in some places, I wanted each element to be short and impactful, and that it's all about characters dying and their loved ones staying behind, I really needed this line to hit.
In the end, I found that a very down-to-earth, specific imagery worked better than any complicated metaphor.

hey!! 4, 18, 42, 65 from the get-to-know-your-writer ask game pls
thank you for the ask!! <3
4. Where do you find inspiration for new ideas?
Anywhere and everywhere! Though usually from unexpected places. Sometimes fic ideas strike me at the strangest times and I have to scramble for something to write with
18. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?
I’ve done all three. The hardest ones are the ones that I have to come up with after writing though. There isn’t really a consistent method? Some of them are lines from poetry, song lyrics, or common-ish phrases. Some are vague one-word titles. Some are just sentences that popped into my head
42. What’s the last fic you read? Do you recommend it?
Tbh I can't really remember the last fic I read because it's been a really busy month 😭
65. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project
I’m currently writing a way too long slowburn DickTim fic covering their meeting in a lonely place of dying and stretching to past Red Robin, with some canon divergence along the way. It’s been at about 50k words for a while because I just haven’t had much time to write lately, but I'm still very excited about it <3

For the ask game:
It took three days for the relief to fade — Buck yodeled in his shower, lay himself flat on every inch of his floor like he was scent-marking territory, and gleefully brought his couch and his forks and his fire extinguisher lamp out of storage.
It took three days for the relief to fade—Buck yodeled in his shower, lay himself flat on every inch of his floor like he was scent-marking his territory, and gleefully brought his couch and his forks and his fire extinguisher lamp out of storage.
He lay in a diagonal heap across his couch on the third day, not even watching anything on TV, just enjoying the way only one body took up space. His phone buzzed and he pressed it to his ear, sinking into the ambient din of LA traffic. "Yeah huh?"
Eddie's voice was amused when he said, "Are you done with your weirdo 'reclamation of space' ritual?" Buck could imagine him and his fingers quotes around the phrase.
"It's not weird," Buck rebuked, "It's necessary. Also, I love my couch. I took it for granted. I'm never leaving this couch again."
"Mmhm. You still coming over tonight then?"
"Duh. I'm never missing another Diaz Telenovela Night for as long as a live."
"Right. I'll be sure to make up the couch."
Buck smiled as he flipped his head over the arm rest, because as much as he loved his couch, there was one he loved just that little bit more. "Sounds like a plan."
For the give me one sentence of a fic and I'll write five (ish) more game! Sorry it's late *blows kiss*

Hi! For WIP Weekend please can I request - "what if Eddie was only on the periphery of S4?” Thank you!
helllll yeah you can! fuck the weekend thing, this game has done SO much for my productivity i will go as long as i get asks :P
so this WIP includes secret steddie, but eddie wasn't involved in s4 and instead kinda spends the whole fic going "wtf is my boyfriend up to":
“I remember you. Drug dealer. Played that, uh, Dungeons and Dragons game. Real creepy stuff. You’re a creepy guy, Munson.” Jason was clearly itching for a response from Eddie, who simply tilted his head to the side, waiting for him to get to his point. Carver clicked his tongue. “You know those kids, the ones who murdered Chrissy? They played that game too. You ever play with them?”
send me an ask and i’ll post three(ish) sentences of a WIP!

BROOMSTICKS MY LOVE! It was so hard to choose but I'm going with 9, 25, 28, and/or 32, with 25 and 28 absolutely being inspired by our conversation just now XD
from this fic writer ask game (no time limit on this, feel free to ask anytime!)
❤️❤️❤️ oooooo you picked some great ones!
9. Tag 3 fic writers you think are underrated/unknown in the fandom/fanfiction community.
oooooh so i don’t really quite know who’s unknown, but some new people i’ve loved following since the last time i posted shoutouts to hp/marauders/wolfstar & misc-fandom/pan-fandom blogs:
@leogichidaa! amazing regulus & black family meta (sirius and regulus and healing from enmeshment, the lost boys: sirius, percy, and BCJ) and fic
@tracingpatternswrites whose Sirius' first full moon in Azkaban fic murdered me
@everythingbutcoldfire -- lovely lovely valentine’s day aroace remus lupin fic, and excellent reblogs & thoughts on aroacespec stuff too
i refuse to stick to 3 haha it doesnt count if i rec people for things other than fic right???
@mkaugust writes wonderful poetry & also microfic may wolfstar!
@carlav-blogs so wholesome! those tattoos!!! the details are ENDLESS.
@remixloonylupin the tenderness. your style. oh my gosh. (pspspspss also writes incredible fic about transness and psychosis)
25. Do you listen to music as you write? If possible, link your writing playlist.
hmmmm some of the time, maybe half? i definitely listen to music a lot BEFORE i start writing, to get me into the mood/ clear my head sorta — it’s also happened before, once or twice, that i’m poking around spotify without the intention of writing and i get randomly bitten by the urge to fling out some words. not necessarily good words, but — whatever, we take those XD
28. How do you deal with writing pressure (ie: pressure to update, negative comments, deadlines, etc)?
uhhhh BADLY. (also, my writing pressure is pretty much all internal rather than externally imposed, if that matters!)
1) sometimes i try to push through the bad, and — sometimes it works, honestly. sometimes brain is just being a dumb and cuts out the tantrum after a while.
2) trying to get my head in the right space — so, music, and — that’s mostly why i have these lying around tbh: self care tag / encouragement / overcoming perfectionism
3) venting to understanding people!!! one of the most important things i’ve found (am still learning) is that so many people—literally even the most amazing ‘why are you not writing original fiction you could be making a killing’ / ‘you??? reading MY TRASH?? why do you even BOTHER honestly’ writers—can relate to these writing struggles! & not just the struggle, but also that indescribable desire to do it anyway. it’s weird and wonderful and literally the only reason i even dared to start let alone am still going (ish) hahaha
32. Copy and paste your top three favorite lines/jokes/sentences you’ve ever written. What fics do they come from?
billie believe me when i tell you i agonized over these for A G E S, seriously considered skipping the question, etc etcetcetc
from my andromeda halloween/yule drabble series, star of wonder:
The tree itself was still as green as ever. It would look just at home bare out in the biting cold, or all dressed up beside the roaring hearth fire. Unchanged, steadfast, evergreen. Just the same in the cozy Hufflepuff common room filled with the aroma of baking bread and the elegant Slytherin one with its enchanting music, in the Black family manor or in the Tonks’s small Muggle cottage.
the summary of my peter drabble, Resolution:
Since he was eleven, Peter’s New Year’s Resolution had always been the same: this year I will be braver.
the last sentence to my RL fest remadora, the grace unasked for:
And he learns that, even at the furthest ends of the earth, you're always sheltered under the same sky, watched over by the same moon.
especially because it was pointed out to me by a lovely commenter that this is apparently really similar to a poem that i may have come across before but certainly don’t consciously remember!
thank youuu for the ask!

Yukierre Coffee Shop AU because they are adorable like that
The door opens, the fucking bell that Lewis refuses to get rid of ringing faintly, and then, “Hello, can I have an expresso?”
Yuki stops wiping down the counter and crosses his arms. “This is your fourth coffee today.”
The man grins at him, curls falling into his face, leaning on Yuki’s newly cleaned counter. “What can I say, I have good taste and….” He lets his eyes wander up and down Yuki’s body, lingering on his arms. “The coffee here is really good.”
Yuki raises an eyebrow, kicking Alex who is laughing behind the coffee machine. “You’re going to make yourself sick.”
The man laughs, hand coming up to rub at his mouth, winking. “Worth it, though.”
Yuki rolls his eyes, jabbing the price into the card holder, stomach fizzing and hot.
“I’m Pierre,” he says, voice low, leaning in even closer. He’s practically lying on the countertop now and Alex is near in tears as he tries to muffle his laughs. He smells of cologne and rain, hair damp.
“I don’t care and that’ll be 3.20,” Yuki says, holding out the card holder.
send me a pairing and an au prompt and i’ll write a three sentence (ish) fic about it

Here I am, popping up in your asks again like the world’s weirdest game of whack-a-mole!
❤️ 😎 👑 For the fanfic asks?
No, I think you mean most fun game of whack-a-mole? :) :) ❤️ What is your favorite line that you’ve written in a fic?
Wait hold on this question is hard there are SO MANY WORDS OF FIC hang on...
Anyway. If there's one thing about me, it's that I will overutilize the rule of three, so, from Stairs Fic:
"This was the howling, miserable fear at the heart of her: that her hatred of being alone doomed the ones she loved, that she was trapped in this endless cycle of love and loss, that for her, there was no end and no way out and no alternative but grief."
And from Flying Lessons:
"The Doctor manages to climb up to them, and Yaz is fine. They take the girl home, and Yaz is fine. They witness a tearful reunion, and they bleed into the background, and they return to the TARDIS, and Yaz is fine, until all of a sudden she smells burning and she doesn’t know what her hands are doing and she can’t breathe." (Feel like I've revealed the ingredients in the secret sauce or something, just, nope, I will give you run-on sentences with three things in them, yep, every time...)
😎 What fics do you prefer on a scale of canon compliant to wildly original?
To write or to read? Except for Edwardian AU I try and stay canon-plausible-ish (within the bounds of the medium, anyway, since I just have words and not actors' excellent facial expressions to work with). For things to read... again I tend to like things that feel canon-plausible but if I like someone's writing and they convince me? I'm in, let's do it. Also AUs have their own weird metrics, I don't make the rules.
👑 Do you like writing short fics or long fics?
Yes. :) I've definitely written more one-shots than multi-chapter stories because they're faster and easier to do little visits into cool ideas, but there's something very fun and satisfying about longer stories!
Thanks for the ask! (Am absolutely going to send you one now too, so... *hands whack-a-mole hammer back*)

Rawr! No guesses who this is ;) For a three sentence fic I come cap in hand to humbly ask for Cahir (in any pairing) with a setting(ish - words elude me today) of workaholic. Love you!
The forms crumpled as Lambert slid across the desk, throwing one leg over Cahir's lap so that Cahir was bracketed in by two muscular thighs.
"I've got work to do," Cahir said tightly, the quill flicking anxiously in his fingers.
Lambert leaned back and braced his hands on the edge of the desk, his hips lifting a little so that Cahir had no choice but to glance down at the impressive swell of Lambert's crotch. "Sure do, get to it," Lambert said with a sly smirk.

ask box game: este/lance, first win(lance) or first pole(este) <3
When he got pole, Esteban nearly screamed his lungs out in the car. He hoped his crew would forgive him.
It was pure joy, and he couldn't help jumping around once he exited the car.
He didn't think anything could beat that joy anytime soon, but then the race came and proved him wrong.
A butched pitstop denied him a win. It hurt, for a bit, before he realised Lance was in front, Lance was leading, Lance was winning.
His Lance looked godly on the top podium step right next to him, bathed in sunlight and champagne, and it took everything in Esteban to not kiss him senseless right then and there.
They would have plenty of time to celebrate that later.
give me a pairing + an au, and i will write you a three sentence-ish fic

if you're not overwhelmed with prompts already: buddie + deserted island?
The sound of waves crashing doesn’t bother him anymore.
It used to, the first couple of days. Buck is very much a “total darkness, total silence” sort of sleeper, and the sound of the ocean, as popular as it might be as white noise of choice for some, never did anything but make him anxious.
But he guesses the body can really get used to anything.
It helped that Eddie stayed up with him, when it was hard. Being stuck on this island, with no one else but them around, doesn’t leave them much choice in ways of company, but Buck doesn’t think they’d choose anyone else to end up here with, anyway.
“Three things you’d bring to a deserted island,” Eddie whispers, the sound of the waves crashing almost drowning the words out. It’s the beginning of a game they play, in the dead of night, when one of them can’t sleep. Things you would do if – things you would bring if – if, if, if, because make-believe is all they have, now.
Buck snorts, his eyes still closed. “That’s a little morbid, isn’t it?”
There’s a small pause. “Every time someone asked me, I used to say something like, doesn’t matter, ‘cause it’ll never happen.” The snort that escapes Eddie sounds a little more self-deprecating than amused. “How’s that for irony?”
Buck opens his eyes, looks over at Eddie. “Wanna hear what my answer used to be?”
Eddie nods.
“A boat, ‘cause I’m a smartass,” he grins, and Eddie rolls his eyes. “A working phone, because—”
“You’re a smartass, yeah,” Eddie agrees.
Buck grins. “And you,” he pokes at Eddie’s arm, watches his best friend’s expression soften considerably. “Because if I were to be stuck anywhere, I don’t think there’s anyone who could get me through it like you.”
Eddie’s eyes search Buck’s – Buck, currently shutting out the sound of the waves, can hear his heartbeat loudly in his ears.
“If we get out of here—”
“When,” Buck corrects.
Eddie pauses. “When,” he amends. “We get out of here – I’m going to ask you on a date,” he says, and Buck feels warmth fill his veins. “Because that – I thought that would never happen, either, because I – I didn’t think you’d—”
“I do,” Buck finishes for him, and Eddie smiles.
“So we get out of here,” Eddie reaches over the space between them and links their pinkies together. “And we go on a date. And everything from then on will be easier, because it’ll never be as hard as being stuck on a deserted island, right?”
Buck nods as much as he can, scoots closer to Eddie. Pinkies still linked, resting underneath their chins. Noses brushing, the closest they’ve been in a while.
“Right,” he replies quietly.
They curl into each other, the waves crashing on: but Buck focuses instead on Eddie's evening breaths, and finds enough solace in the sound of them that he finds sleep, easily.
send me a pairing + an au/setting and i'll write a 3(ish) sentence fic
