Thinking about how some people will never know that most original paintings are looking so different from their photographs on the internet.
Like this here for example. It is "Paysage au pin" by Berthe Brincour and the only photograph I could find on the internet.
And this here below is the original that I photographed with my phone at a museum in Luxembourg last year.
You can't even see the brush strokes in the first one! If you zoom into my photo you can see the direction she went with the brushes and how it all looks like a gorgeous lively mosaic. The entire charm, everything that makes this piece feel so alive to me, gets lost in the first photo.
I don't know where I am going with this. If you do traditional art yourself and you photograph it, just know that there will be people like me that will go absolutely bonkers if they can spot your brush strokes and "imperfections" and what have you.
Being able to see where someone put the brush, is literally so magical. The painting is alive to me. There is such beauty in that.
Also check out museums and art exhibits if you get the chance. You will gain even more appreciation for the paintings you know and love and find new favorites too.

I hate that I know exactly what his cooking videos would look like. He'd be a literally cursed Kay's Kitchen. Literal cursed instead of what Kay does. Every video would be like this:

if you get lost along the highway, let the north star and orion guide you home
[image description: a digital self-portrait, done in a messily cel-shaded and lined style. a person with light skin and chin-length messy brown hair sits in the driver's seat of their car, with one arm propped up on the steering wheel and resting their chin in their hand. they gaze off into the distance. they're wearing a yellow shirt and a black denim jacket with a white fur lining. outside the car it is nighttime, but a light outside the driver's side of the car casts stark lighting over the scene. end ID]

Do you ever run across stickers you cant quite identify? I have a lot of random loose ends in my collection- scraps cut from bigger pages, nondescript flakes- that I'm at a loss with. I imagine with a collection like yours, you're pretty good at recognizing brands! Also, do you have any unicorns you could post? 🦄
Oh, plenty! As much as I'm getting better at identifying brand features and such, a lot of my "knowledge" comes from reading small text at the bottom of stickers and reverse image search XD I can often clock a time period for vintage stickers, but there's still some room for improvement there, too :P
As for unicorn stickers. I have. A few. *discretely shoves my massive pile of vintage unicorn stickers behind me*
I tried to pick out a diverse handful for you, let me know if you want any posted separately!
On the topic of brands, these guys are a complete mystery to me! Super cool though! The left one is fuzzy and the right one matches my profile picture :3c.
I think these two are Diffraction Co. from the early 80s, but I could be wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
All of these are EHM! You can tell because they say EHM XD Without the branding I might confuse them for Lisa Frank tbh, but I think (?) they're older...
These ones are Lisa Frank, Illuminations, and Hallmark! (In that order.) The Illuminations style is pretty distinctive, as is Lisa Frank, but both are also labeled on the back XD.
And we're at the image limit! I know I've already posted some other good ones though, like this one! And this one, ooh and this one and this one :D
