Hello! Been a while, eh? Just here to remind everyone (my very small amount of followers, love you guys) that Transitus is an excellent album like my god every song is so fucking good and the storyline is great.

I feel like Abby was that kind of person whose ability to socialize was eroded by most of the people around her (especially given that she's Black, likely biracial like her voice talent) to the point where her father Abraham was just so confused about how to help her until Lavinia came along and got them jobs at Daniel's mansion, hoping that keeping Abby busy would get her head back straight

they got the job done about midway through since Abby did fall in love with the similarly withdrawn Daniel, so she was motivated to do things, if it's for this one himbo in this rich family who saw her more as a mutual/equal than as anything else

and that's why come „Talk of the Town“ Abby had the guts to clap back at the rumours herself instead of hide behind or from her lover

and when the fire took Daniel from her, it's like Abby's lifeline snapped and she's falling down that rocky depression ravine again with worse wounds than before

idk ok I may criticise the Ayreon lover girls in the project's more down to earth works for being like satellites to the protagonists in a way but (1) these ladies had agency in their desire and it shows in the songwriting, and (2) whether Arjen intended it or not, Abby is the most tormented of those girls thanks to how her storyworld fleshes her out
