EDIT: I am a drama queen and just assume a lot of Trimax readers misinterpreted this scene bc I saw like only two people do it but I’m also using this as an excuse to yap about Vash and Knives’ personalities bc it was super interesting in this volume ok byyeee read on:

Is it just me or is the majority of the fandom under the impression that it was Knives who stabbed Rem?? Because it was actually Vash. Which I think says a lot about their actual personalities vs how the fandom perceives them.

Analysis under the cut!

In classic Nightow fashion, it's hard to figure out wtf is going on and you gotta read over it multiple times, but look:

After the discovery of Tesla, Knives faints and is placed in a little incubator thing or whatever and Vash laments the fact he remained awake to mull over the horrors. From this point on, Knives is not in the picture bc he's busy honk mimimi (which is actually something he employs as a coping mechanism throughout the story... his precious beauty sleep...)

Now, Vash is refusing to eat and lashes out at Rem, expressing his disdain for being stuck on a spaceship with all these nasty humans.

Rem once again tries to get Vash to eat, peeling him a fruit.

Vash lunges for the knife and attempts to stab himself, but Rem stops him.

Vash is locked in a reactive state - he's in shock and acting out. This is where I think ppl miss the mark in interpreting the twins and why Vol. 7 is so important.

Vash can actually be nasty as hell. He ain't all that babygirl. His silly goofy facade is a way of integrating himself into the human world sure - but it's also lying to himself. He's impulsive, stubborn, and dare I say arrogant with his Messianic martyr type shit. (EDIT: I’m being a bit harsh here… I mean yeah he’s the only person on Gunsmoke who’s got a chance against Knives but like getting up in townspeople’s business gets really annoying imo like I understand why he does it but man…that’s why we’ve got Wolfwood bc narrative foil and whatever… anyway)

Knives on the other hand, internalises everything. Though he may appear to be the one who lashes out, and yes of course he's also arrogant, but it's mostly projection. He is in a MAD state of denial. For all his talk of being a superior being, that humans are icky and should all perish, yada yada yada, he actually wishes for love and acceptance - he wants to be safe.

Obviously, his head is too far up his ass to admit it, and he's always too busy tweaking about how annoying Vash is and blaming Rem for everything to actually try and sit down and think of better ways to do things but ANYWAY

(You know who else's head is up their ass? Vash. The twins are actually so alike if you really study them!! Anywayyyy)

That was Knives' whole deal from THE VERY BEGINNING. Knives was the one to cry in relief when Conrad and the crew accepted them, not Vash. Vash was more like "ok cool! life might not be so bad! yipee!" and then Knives had to Big Fall about his internalised plantphobia or whatever etc etc.

I AM GETTING SIDETRACKED !! ok so

The stabbing occurs. Again, hard to tell it's actually occurring bc Nightow, but yeah Vash stabbed Rem. Not Knives! Bro has passed out for a couple days now lol.

More evidence it's Vash - Vash was the one to express feeling suicidal. Knives cannot express anything to save his life bc he's the king of internalisation and deflection and projection lmao. Also yeah he's still eeping.

Oh look! He rises! Completely unaware of the drama that has unfolded! Not that he'd care! He's set on a mission to hurl humanity to the dust bowl of Gunsmoke! Little scamp.

Mermaid au time

Lore down here

I don’t really have a story for it yet and dunno if I ever will. It’s just a silly little AU where I suddenly came up with most of the lore at 3am. And it’s mostly PLANT lore.

Sorry if it’s messy I tried making sens of my even messier notes.

PLANTS are some kind of deep sea seaweed that look like a mix of the petals and glowy markings from stampede and the feathers from trimax. So no humanoid bodies, just the leave things. They’re still a hivemind entity that’s all connected though. They need a very specific environment to live so scientists have had a hard time recreating the PLANTS environment to better study them.

PLANTS can use DNA from other species to create creatures close to the species but plant like to help them thrive. Like bringing them food, protecting them or help them spread seeds and stuff. Scientists know this ability but they (I) have no clue how it works. The PLANT recreated creatures have PLANT like markings and features. They thought PLANTS could only recreate aquatic species or more specifically some smaller ones but sharks and even a whale have been seen. Then somehow human DNA (probably blood) got into one of the tank they kept some PLANT in and Tessla happened. Mermaid aren’t their own species, just mermaid looking PLANT creatures. She’s close to Nai’s coloration. After she died because of the experimentation, the scientists tried to recreate human/PLANT hybrids but couldn’t force it. Some years later Rem who’s, one of the scientist, found Vash and Nai and hid them so they wouldn’t undergo what Tessla had.

In this AU Wolfwood, Meryl and Millie are university students. Meryl and Millie are journalists students while Wolfwood is probably marine biology. Wolfwood wasn’t experimented on but he still had a rough childhood.

The design are a mix of stampede and trimax so Wolfwood and Meryl are based of stampede and Millie, Vash, Nai and Rem are based of trimax.

The twin’s hair are based of trimax because after Rem died they where on their own in the ocean and they didn’t have anything to cut undercuts. Vash’s hair are down just cause I think it’s cute. They’re both trans and had longer hair like in 98 when they where younger.

No clue yet if Nai is evil or not but he’s definitely Vashwood enemy number one.

Rem is a marine biologist from Québec probably from Gaspé so she’s speaks both Québec French and English and taught both to the twins. So picture this:

Meryl: No. it’s just French…

When Tesla, Nai and Vash were born from the stars and landed on Mt. Olympus as infant godlings, Rem was assigned by Zeus to raise them.

Taught the siblings the arts of song, dance and music.

She actually knew about what would happen to Tesla and Vash at Troy long before the Trojan war began due to the moirai telling her about the fates that would await her children.

Nai killed her for doing nothing to try and prevent Tesla’s death and Vash’s torture as he saw it as their mother betraying them all.

In the plain of Nysa - Synopsis:

Loosely based on the myth of Hades and Persephone.

Vash, the god of peace and twin brother of Nai, the god of war, has been sheltered for millenia within the safe havens of Mount Olympus. Or rather has been held captive by his brother for millenia.

That is until the goddess of the hunt Meryl and a satyr named Roberto help the deity to escape from Olympus into the human realm. There Vash is forced to hide in a small temple from his brother where he meets the priest Nicholas D. Wolfwood and slowly falls in love with him while also finding a sense of his own independence.

Shitposting break time for comic and lore

after the crash and the twins are taken into ship 3, Nai becomes withdrawn towards everyone but Vash cause you know, trauma. But shit happens, Vash heals the Plants on the ship and starts interacting with the crew. And everything goes to shit.

Ludia tries to interact with Nai, but he made it impossible for anyone to really talk to him outside of Vash.

Nai gets a lot of complicated feelings on everything going on here. He feels useless compared to his brother in helping their sisters, he feels jealous of Vash’s ability to heal and then he feel horrible that he would feel such a way towards his brother discovering his own power. And then Vash starts spending more time with the crew. To Nai, Vash is the one leaving him behind. And so he does what all dumbass teens do and runs away. Leading to how Vash loses his arm.

Also I dont know what the general consensus on Rem’s parenting is, but here fuck you both twins loved their mom.

Y’know, someone told me that Knives surpressed his feelings about Tesla, that’s probably why he became twisted. While Vash expressed his anger and processed it to Rem, that’s why he didn’t became twisted too. So I guess this shows that you shouldn’t suppressed your feelings or else you’ll be like Knives.
