The Two of Wands is about not having to work because you already control everything you want. You have everything and all the power you could want. It’s quite miserable having nothing to strive for and leads to a miserable life.

Two of Wands & FE3H
The Two of Wands can be interpreted as a deadlock between two opposing forces, or an important decision that must be made between two equally viable paths. This card can be interpreted as an internal struggle, or an external one. The wands could represent a divided psyche, a mind at internal war with itself because it does not know what is the best path for itself. It can also represent being forced to choose two equally tantalising or terrible options, laid bare due to following one’s own ambitions.
For this card, I choose a relatively small event in the grand scheme of the story in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Right after Edelgard’s declaration of war and before her invasion begins, Ferdinand must make an important choice: will he protect the people against the ravages of war, or will he join in Adrestia’s invasion? He has duties to his people, but also duties to the crown. While the first option would appease his morals, the second would appease his ego, especially since his family has been stripped of their noble station. Either way, he must sacrifice something, whether it be his convictions or his social standing. Ferdinand must decide what he is willing to give up, and what he stands to gain from his choice.
Generally, the Two of Wands is an introspective card, representing an active figure trying to figure out how to implement the spark of inspiration from the Ace of Wands. But I think it’s interesting to inspect it as a figure who is caught between two choices, and must inspect his options carefully if he wishes to achieve his goals. In terms of Ferdinand, I like that if he chooses to protect the people of Fòdlan, he truly embodies the upright Two of Wands, where this decision is the first decision of many. However, if he chooses to invade the other countries in Fòdlan, he embodies the reversed Two of Wands, filled with indecision, fears of change, and a desperation to keep his station under the new Emperor’s gaze.
