Story Idea: Set in a fantasy world, a necromancer uses their magic to provide laborers in the town to build walls, maintain roads, harvest crops, and more.
With the all the profit they earn from hiring out their undead workforce, they fund a private nursing home with incredible elderly care. The nursing home is absolutely free, as long as residents agree to let the necromancer have their body for reanimation if they die while at the nursing home.
Maybe at some point a warlord comes and the protagonist has to protect the town with everybody’s reanimated grandparents? Honestly, who needs a big bad when you can have protagonist instructing their employees on good end of life care, and how to show proper respect for the dead, amiright?!

Not sure if this counts, but how do you explain the ninjas ages? How are they teachers but also like 16? I always love hearing people's thoughts on this
For a while now I've been entertaining a headcanon that I think would perfectly explain this in a way that makes sense. Note that this is just a circumstantial theory with no explicit basis in canon, so feel free to take it or leave it as you see fit.
Okay, so. To understand the teacher situation (as well as my theories for why Ninjago's education system is fucked to hell and back), we first have to talk about the Serpentine War for a sec. Bare with me, I promise this will make sense.
This seems like a no-brainer, but a war requires people to actually, yknow, fight in it. Which means large demographics of people have to leave their homes, families, jobs, and communities. Naturally, this forces the ones they've left behind to compensate for the economic deficit caused by their absence. Anyone familiar with American history could tell you that this happened to the US during WWII - as swathes of men shipped off overseas to fight in the war, women back home had to take charge of the economy and participate more actively in the workforce.
I think it goes without saying that this kind of situation probably happened to Ninjago during the Serpentine War. But the thing is, we know women fought in the war stood at the front lines alongside the men - we've seen them. So if that's the case, then who stepped up to help run the economy while Mommy and Daddy were away?
I think you can guess where I'm going with this.
That's right. With so many people leaving to fight in the War (and also dying from Serpentine raids), I don't think it's unreasonable to conclude that some subset of kids and teens had to step up to the plate and take up some of the vacancies their parents had left behind. Obviously I'm not saying all the adults were gone, but it was enough to warrant kids entering the workforce prematurely.
And of course, if kids are getting jobs at younger ages, then I think it's valid to extrapolate that to teacher positions as well.
As you can imagine, this shift created a few new social precedents: 1) expectations for kids, especially teens, to get jobs and become mature at younger ages was normalized; and 2) requirements for certain careers, including education, became much more lenient.
This labor expectation imposed on older kids and teens would actually explain a lot more than just the s3 teacher situation, when you think about it.
Not only are unqualified teens allowed to become teachers, but also undead skeleton warriors from the Underworld (see s1ep4). I'm sorry, but you can't convince me that Kruncha and Nuckal are licensed educators.
The existence of Darkley's, and how it was able to exist for so long without any kind of administrative intervention. The education system is in shambles, and it's because Ninjago's infrastructure never fully recovered from the Serpentine War.
Disparities and gaps in people's historical/world knowledge. No one knows shit about anything. Because again, the education system in in shambles. (If you doubt the validity of this point, let me just remind you I'm from the US. I once met a college student who didn't know what 'north' was.)
The existence of the Paper Boys - how they can devote what seem to be entire workdays to an extremely dangerous job, with minimal adult oversight (if any).
The entirety of Ninjago society seems totally chill with the fact that their saviors are a bunch of kids. To them this isn't cause for concern or even distrust in the ninjas' capability, it's just the norm!
In s15, Lloyd was able to get a job, presumably without a high school diploma or GED of some kind. Or, yknow, any formal education past grade 3 (although we know from supplemental material that he did get some kind of tutoring from the ninja, so this point is debatable).
If some kind of in-universe CPS equivalent exists, then they certainly don't do anything. No one has ever reported or raised issue with Lloyd being homeless, Cole also being homeless for a while, the ninja not being in school, Kai and Nya being parent-free since the ages of ~6 and 3 respectively, and other such things that would ordinarily be cause for alarm.
While there is canon evidence that Kai and Nya received some degree of aid from their community, especially when they were younger, this seems to be completely absent by the time the series begins. Perhaps the community's assistance began to withdraw over time as the siblings faced increasing expectations to become self-sufficient despite still being children. Like, "you're 10 years old now, Kai, it's time for you to start pulling your weight and taking care of the shop by yourself. You need to grow up."
If we approach Ninjago's worldbuilding from this context, suddenly the teacher arc becomes less of a plothole and more...depressing, tbh.
And in a weird way, this interpretation actually fits in nicely with Ninjago's themes of generational trauma. Think about it. Society was damaged by the Serpentine War. And because they never really healed from what happened, the kids of future generations continue to face the normalization of their childhoods gradually being ripped away from them before they're ready. Kinda like kids in a broken home taking on adult responsibilities to cover the slack. Kinda like Cole handling house chores while his father grieved away from home. Kina like Kai and Nya running the shop while their parents were gone.
And everyone is just...used to it. The only times in all 15 seasons that anyone stakes a complaint about this system are in seasons 1-2 when Lloyd was a little child, in season 8 when Harumi was ridiculing the ninja, and in season 15 when Wu refused to lead the Paper Boys into battle.
(I do think it's worth noting that young children are still regarded as kids, of course, as seen with how the ninja were treated when they got de-aged. But this isn't really a refutation of my argument, as much as it is a clue to help us identify society's cutoff for childhood innocence.)
Again, it's more of a circumstantial theory than anything based in fact. So you're free to dispute it as you like. But you have to admit it would explain a lot, wouldn't it?
Anyway, that was...a lot longer than I was expecting it to be. Damn. I'm beginning to think that's gonna be a running theme with these theory posts.
Thanks for the ask! <3

Unusual D&D/Pathfinder/Other RPG Campaign Concepts
You're all bugs living in a garden or forest and have to fight against Beetles instead of Orcs and Birds replace Dragons.
Middle Aged parents without much in the way of power now being forced to go an adventure to save their kids (Bonus points if they're from the 'real world' ala Dungeons and Daddies podcast)
An undead industrial revolution where the undead has begun replacing humans in the workforce as opposed to machinery (more of a setting but damn interesting one)
I'm gonna post more when I have more ideas

@cryptidcaper I'd love to talk about them! This is gonna be a pretty long post, so I put in a couple tl;dr's for those who just want to get the gist of it.
I have no idea what to call this, so I'll keep running with it being a Phantom of the Paradise au. There are some changes to the themes and content of the original story based on what I felt comfortable writing about and discussing, but everything else is pretty much intact. If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments, feel free to throw them my way! I'll be happy to talk more about it.
(overall tl;dr: the au is set in the 2020s, the supernatural is part of everyday life, Swan is the head of media conglomerate Death Studios and working for an Entity known as Sparrow to collect souls, zombies and ghosts make for cheap labor, Winslow is trying to get his stage production of Faust seen, Phoenix has a YouTube channel for explaining the paranormal and wants her own show, Beef is a writer, actor, and director who gets an arguably worse fate than the movie, Swan took the band name Undeads too literally and now the Juicy Fruits are trapped working for him forever, Philbin is a stone construct disguised as a human)
A little context about the world to start. (tl;dr, it's the 2020s, paranormal beings like zombies exist and are well known but not talked about, Swan made a deal with a powerful Entity called Sparrow to stay young forever and collects souls for Sparrow in exchange, now Swan is head of the Death Studios media conglomerate, he's incredibly influential and successful, meanwhile he's using contracts to exploit and control his workforce which benefits both him and Sparrow, most workers are Undead or constructs because their labor is cheaper.)
This version of the story is set in the 2020s (partly because I didn't want to do a ton of research on the 70s, partly because I thought it'd be funny if Winslow started dissing Swan on twitter). The supernatural is very present and well known by people but not often acknowledged. Ghosts and zombies exist, spirits can decide to help your houseplants grow or give you bad luck, hand-carved constructs are used for jobs that would be too dangerous for humans, and fae-like beings known as Entities walk the lines between worlds and lure people into contracts to increase their power. Talking about these paranormal parts of the world is taboo for most so there's a lot of fear and misunderstanding surrounding them. It's also kept hush-hush by certain people who rely on the supernatural to profit.
Swan is one of these people. In the 50s, an Entity known as Sparrow approached him at his lowest and convinced him to sign a contract. In exchange for eternal youth and power, Swan would collect more souls for Sparrow. Swan has been largely successful with this through his company Death Studios (upgraded from Death Records) and has expanded from the music industry into general entertainment. He now directs a media conglomerate and makes use of social media to promote his definitely not stolen or exploited productions. Think Mr. Beast meets Disney meets Netflix. He's wildly popular, and partly due to the influence and power granted by Sparrow, almost no one questions how he's still so young and successful and those who do ask questions are quickly silenced. Every artist, writer, actor, singer, musician, producer, etc dreams of one day working for Swan.
Behind the scenes, Swan uses his sweeping control of the entertainment industry to hire fresh faces, sign them onto exploitative contracts, and then drain them of all they're worth. This benefits both him and Sparrow. And, if someone tries to leave or raise the alarm, they simply have a little 'accident' and are brought back as an Undead who can be exploited even more and paid even less. The majority of Swan's employees are actually Undead who have been trapped by their contracts and unable to move on as long as Swan finds them useful.
With that lengthy explanation over, onto the characters!
Winslow Leach is about the same, he's a composer and writer who's been working on a musical stage production of Faust for most of his life. He's not well known and dreams that his work will one day be seen by the world. He has a knack for getting into places he shouldn't be, he's bad with computers and writes most things out by hand, and at this point he's naive and almost blindly optimistic. I'm also giving him The Tism and reclaiming those vibes from the movie because Projection and Yes.
Phoenix never got into singing, though her voice is still terrific. Instead, she's a paranormal investigator and has her own small YouTube channel talking about the supernatural and its presence in their world. She's not as afraid of the unnatural as most people are, and she hopes that exposing these things that people try to sweep under the rug will help them understand the paranormal better and be less afraid of it. She dreams of having her own show one day with the budget to do proper explorations of lesser-known paranormal sites and beings. She's determined to reach this goal to the point of recklessness and risking her own safety, especially since some of these beings can be incredibly dangerous. She's waiting for her shot to get out of her dead end job and chase her goals, and she's not letting anything get in the way.
Swan is Swan, the only big difference is he has a bit more obvious supernatural-ness to him. His Entity-given power relies on perception, making people perceive him however he wants them to. He can extend this power to others and disguise his more inhuman staff so they blend in with the natural world. He plans to open a new major studio location/online streaming service called Paradise+ and is looking for the right content to do it. He's also on TikTok, which is horrifying enough.
Beef! He's a professional actor and writer who's directed and taken part in plenty of stage productions and films in his time. He's also a guitarist, which doesn't come into play in his work as often as he'd like. He suffers the same fate as he does in the movie, but that's far from the end of his story.
The Juicy Fruits are Swan's swiss army knife of an entertainment group, and of course they've all signed contracts with him. Whatever the trends are, the Juicy Fruits will adapt to them. They've gone from songs to gaming to children's entertainment. At one point, the group decided they wanted to move on from Death Studios and tried to exit their contract. Unfortunately, there was an 'accident' during one of the rehearsals, and now they're permanently trapped under Swan's thumb unable to escape or reenter society. The 'accident' also affected their looks, so when they perform they're either animated with motion capture or disguised by Swan or heavy makeup and prosthetics to hide the fact they are no longer alive.
Sometime in the 60s, Swan purchased an older property that included a number of stone gargoyles. In need of some body guards that wouldn't ask questions and weren't as fragile as the usual human grunts, he had them removed from the building and then brought them to life. Thus, Philbin was created. He's Swan's right hand man and does all the dirty work. He doesn't have much to complain about; Swan gave him a disguise so he can appear as human, he gets paid enough and treated better than most of the other employees, and he's got relative freedom in his job. Most contracts are signed through Philbin on behalf of Swan.
This is already really long, so I'll go in depth about the plot in a separate post. But, to give a short summary, the plot of the movie still happens (with a few twists and a different ending), and then the characters go through a few arcs trying to figure themselves out and how to escape Swan's influence. Winslow in particular struggles with his identity and who and what he is after getting Phantom'd. There's laughs to be had, horrors to be witnessed, and not everyone is going to be making it out alive (or un-alive). As a final note, if anyone has any ideas for what this should be called, lmk!

ok so my current fort I'm messing around with is one with the set goal to resurrect a bunch of dead folks using this custom dfhack script that dips into curse tomb mechanics to tap into the revive and reanimate interactions. a bit more in depth in the read more
before we get to that part there been a lot of stuff that happen since the site swap showcase post... site-swap and the later army view script I work on didn't really work out given the whole flaw with site-swap wasn't fixed so I took a break from that and went into figuring out how tombs work which led to some deep poking and writing a series of scripts that poke into assigning corpses, interactions, and zone placements for activating the interactions for tombs. then realizing the vanilla interactions don't work well on mangled bodies that often... flash forward to this session
the session is a bit more dfhacked as it starts with the mobile nano void fort with heavy use of nomad and finally figuring out a way to get around the hidden location even if you reveal it in dfhack ordeal.
Tumblr media
this new reveal site uses embark notes to map where the hidden sites are while revealing them so the player... gets assaulted with a blinking light for locations they may or may not want to visit. so I learn this is a one time use script as it permanently sets the sites and embark notes on the save. the navigation of the world map while I do void fort stuff got a bit easier because of this and I been traveling the world for locations with old dead bodies and possible interesting people. the journey ended up with seeing a kobold encampment which I scoop up with a petition script and the kobolds in the fort were a major part of the workforce. later ended up finding some lairs that had a name dingo called egun lurchedglory and a named giant cougar called spitefulvalleys.
which led to the spot that spark me making this tumblr post a desert titan lair which had 2 skeletons and said desert titan SquidRivers the snarling rain. after moving in the desert titan into the fort and scooping the bodies I went into prepping the curse tomb set up for resurrecting them. the end result was uhh
Tumblr media
getting utag resurrected and finding out what happens when you use an revenant/intel undead resurrection on a mostly skeletonal body. right after petitioning them to join the fort I notice utag wasn't really moving which led to a quick examine that the game treats them as wounded and needed treatment so I went and set up a quick hospital bed and assign a kobold to be head medical chief for the task. tried to assign the desert titan but they proceeded to not do the task
the kobold doctors operated on the skeleton by cutting off the remaining rotten flesh which led to utag having a series of straight scars all over the bony body.
Tumblr media
then done the same on the other skeleton who name is quogub so there's like two skeleton bowwomen that just got cool scars. and suddenly after loading in the save to check on quogub's description uhh they are both gone. so now there's two historical figure resurrected skeleton hunters with surgery scars on their bones out in the wild of this savefile.
figures they were too cool to be in my fort any longer, I think one of them was a mom also.
here's the historical records of utag and quogub

First Blood historical headcanons
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"But we are the First Bloods,
Dark and beautiful and undead,
We have forever roamed these lands,
And founded a world before which all bend."
Okay so, I have a hot take here. I argue that the First Bloods aren't actually the very first of demon kind, those would be the chaotic and unruly beasts that roam the depths of Makai, sent there straight from hell itself.
The First Bloods are the first intelligent type of the demon. The first that learned how to use magic, communicate and go beyond the previously impossible to traverse borders that seperated them from the mainlands of Makai.
As the first intelligent beings to find their way to these fertile, vast lands, they wandered and observed and studied it at first, wonderous as young children would be.
Gradually, they grew stronger, smarter, and more capable. And once they had seen all of what this world had to offer, they settled in the middle regions, which would later become the prime territories of the Demon World, and started building their cities and walls.
At first, small in numbers and less egotistical than they are remembered as now, they were open to letting Ghouls that had grown sentient work alongside them. These Ghouls who'd stayed in the Makai for longer had some experience with regional benefits and detriments that were useful to the First Bloods.
But they weren't kind to them, no. They never treated the Ghouls as "their own" and viewed themselves as the benevolent ones for even letting them mingle among themselves.
These minglings of First Bloods and intelligent Ghouls later led to the birth of the four subspecies, but that is a story for another day.
A few members of these First Bloods who were leading all the efforts and were more powerful began to establish a system of rulership that would have them and their families at the top.
These people who would go down in the history of the First Bloods as the Great Ancestors are as follows:
Malahtan Tsukinami, the Dark Uniter, the first head of House Tsukinami, and the King of Makai and the First Bloods. A cruel but cunning man who united his people and led them to establish their great empire. He conquered the prime lands in the middle of the realm, and placed himself and his line at the head of this empire.
Ulrich Lunagust, the Master of Gold, and the first head of House Lunagust. He was the first among the First Bloods to show interest in the minerals of the lands and his house would go on to create the very first forms of currency and own mines of different sorts all across the lands.
Johannes Sanguine, the Diplomat and the first head of House Sanguine. He was the person who aided Malahtan closely and was essential to the establishment of the empire. He bargained with the Ghouls for their knowledge and workforce and was deeply interested in the research of the world they had landed in. He and his house would store the true, unfiltered history of the Demon World and keep secrets to cultivating ancient magic for themselves in eons to come.
Lucienne Bonnerell, the Crimson Witch and the woman who'd go on to establish the loose House of Bonnerell in the far South East of the Realm, later known as the Blood Witches. She helped build the kingdom with the persuasion of Johannes, but she did not join the empire's machinery due to major disagreements with Malahtan Tsukinami, who was seated atop the throne they were building.
The three main First Blood factions, in the beginning, held power within the realm regardless of the Tsukinamis at the top. But overtime, only House Sanguine could maintain seperate importance to the Demon World.
House Lunagust held power still, but as the four subraces appeared and began to build currencies and mines of their own, the importance and preciousness of First Blood currency became more and more reliant on the crown's stability, leading the House to become more and more dependent on the throne.
House Bonnerell eventually fully removed itself from First Blood territory and established its own faction of land in the South East. They still had deep-rooted ties to House Sanguine, who kept records of their rituals and research, but the more modern Demon Society now only knows them as the Blood Witches as they freely mingled with other kinds, even humans.
Every generation of House Tsukinami grew more influence over the world than the last, and the prospering Kings and people became blind-sighted to their shortcomings and flaws.
They begun to view themselves as superior to the four subraces, who were deformed in First Blood standards as they couldn't shift shape to all the main demonic forms.
And so will go on the legacy of the First Bloods. This was only the establishment of this realm. There is more to come.

I just noticed the text on you ask box button so: tell me about your ocs. all of them, your favorite, I do not care. I wish to hear all you have to say (also I really like your new blog theme, it's very calming and quiet on my eyes)
THANK U i love dark colors bc im very light sensitive so thats a big thi nf i was going for w my new theme<33
ok oc time!!!!!!!!uh uh i dont really know where or who to start with so ill prolly just go w quickly rambling about my ocs from tbe casino gang!!!!! this story is mostly in collaboration w my sibling kay and they have about half of the characters here but im mostly gonna focus on mine for times sake because theres. like 10 in total which would take a long time bc you know i wont shut up about anything
i have a bunch of ocs who all work at this casino somewhere between multiverses that we still dont have a name for but its ok. lots of people from all sorts of different worlds show up there but its usually dimensional travelers or backrooms wanderers or random characters who have been magically brought there just for funsies :-)
first we have avery!!!!my partial sona whos also their own character its weird avery created the casino sometime after they died and became a god, its one of the things theyre most proud of and they wouldnt work anywhere else for the world. except sometimes they would because their employees are little shits sometimes (which is kind of what you’d expect from half your workforce being either undead immortal children or raging alcoholics (abel.)) theyre basically a wine mom friend tbh but the kind of wine mom who would absolutely tear you apart with an axe if you did sometjing to their kids. theyre very protective of their employees and their sibling/co-owner abel (kay’s oc) <3 but they arent afraid to be a little strict with them
indigo is averys best friend and technically head of security even though they dont even work there! theyve just been given full authority over the security staff because theyre slay like that. one of my fruitiest ocs ever i swear indigo died very soon after avery did! they were friends before they died as well but avery has no idea and indigo would like to keep it that way. they wear a mask concealing the right side of their face and they loooove to scare people with whats behind it. they met avery and helped them get back onto their feet after they died <3 even though they have full security clearance theyre literally just a regular visitor at the casino and nobody really knows Why theyre best friends but its fine. theyre also very protective of avery and abel and of course their friend ephetatis (kay’s oc) and their little sister ruby!
ruby is a little shit. im just gonna say that now i adore her so much but shes the definition of a chaotic neutral mean lesbian sje would tell you to kys unapologetically if she thought it was funny (but she would apologize if it made someone sad) she and indigo are both. weird vampire demon creature dudes. she was assigned to be indigos younger sister by higher-up gods and she was a bit hesitant to trust them at first but indigo is very responsible and the two got along very quickly! they have a really interesting dynamic because ruby lived during a much more modern time period than indigo so she learned about. internet things and stuff like that more easily which makes for some really funny scenarios. ruby will occasionally get dragged to the casino when she cant be trusted to be home alone but now she has to help out there a bunch because she and her best friend kris (kay’s oc) broke a $27,000 chandelier (kris did it on purpose. bitch) and now they have to work off this ridiculous amount of debt. however they do get free snacks so thats cool i guess
parsley and sofi are two little guys who probably live in the walls i have no idea what or who they are but they annoy abel and help avery and cause chaos. they are never not together so its impossible to not draw or write about them together. avery kind of just took them in and now they help ephetatis at the bar (they handle the non-alcoholic drinks and clean things) and sometimes sofi sneaks salt into abels wine because it think its really funny
and those r all the main important characters!!!!the ones i own anyway!!!!!! theyre so silly and i love the whole casino gang to death and i worked on thisfor like 45 minutes so i hope you enjoy this massive infodump thank you for reading

I thought Zom 100 was an enjoyable anime to watch that was funny while still having deep themes to explore and artistic choices to evaluate. I think one of the most prominent themes is the critique on capitalism and the societal and cultural norms it ultimately creates. In the beginning of episode 1, we witness protagonist Akira entering the workforce with enthusiasm, eager to work hard. However, as the episode progresses, we see his gradual disillusionment which creates his transformation into a mere cog in the capitalist machine- a mindless zombie. The world around him loses its vibrancy, rendered in stark black and white symbolizing how capitalism and hustle culture drains the life, personality, and happiness out of its victims. It's a pivotal moment when color returns to the world as Akira encounters the first zombie. The splashes of vibrant colors-greens, blues, pinks, etc. serving as the blood of the undead, mark a departure from the monochrome grind of his previous existence. This contrast underscores the liberating potential of the zombie apocalypse which becomes a catalytic event that disrupts the status quo and frees individuals from the shackles of capitalistic oppression. After Akira realizes the zombie apocalypse means he doesn’t have to go to work anymore, all the color flushes back into the world and his eyes light up and sparkle with newfound vitality and humanity. This is juxtaposed with the scene right before the apocalypse, where his undead gaze reflects only lifelessness. It is only when society is disrupted by the zombie apocalypse that Akira is free from this illusion and can rediscover who he is and gain his freedom and happiness back. One artistic choice I thought was interesting was using different colors to depict blood and gore rather than make it realistic. I’m not sure what the actual reason is behind it, but I think this stylistic choice reinforces that the zombie apocalypse was a “good” thing for freeing individuals from capitalism and that’s why they add color back into the world.
The images below are from the two scenes that I believe juxtapose each other- one where Akira's eyes are lifeless and the world is void of color compared to after the apocalypse his eyes are vibrant and full of life. It's ironic how it takes zombie apocalypse to transform Akira from a zombie back into a human.

Hellsite Nostalgia Tour 2023 Day 311
Optimism/Kerblam!
“Optimism”
Plot Description: Jack convinces Dean to let him help investigate a librarian whose suitors keep dying. Sam bonds with Charlie on a hunt.
Would I Survive the First Five Minutes??: yeah
FIRST OF ALL. That’s Jim Moriarty’s theme, and second, bold to use stayin alive for a dude who’s definitely about to die
Yeah, I guess not all stake outs are quick and exciting
Not to tell Sam how you’re supposed to use a fidget spinner but…I don’t think that’s correct
Oh both Dean and Jack have Michael trauma they’re gonna start to work out today, I see
Jack sounds so much like Dean (in spirit, not actual voice)
Man I love “replacement for how awkward Castiel used to be around people”!Jack. He’s even got his own trench coat now
Oh. Not a trench coat, tan blazer…but still.
Oh au Charlie…she had a girlfriend who died in the beginning of the angel war
You have no idea how much I want this librarian to be a monster of some sort
Did…yeah, Dean and Jack (but probably mostly Dean) planned this out. Dean coming in as a tough FBI agent and Jack following in once the librarian is a little annoyed and a little scared to save her
Oh. Calling Dean “old man” was NOT in the script lol
She’s so smitten with Jack
The thing is Myles is either the monster…….or he’s about to die. Yeah…it was the latter
So, if it’s not the overly protective coworker OR the librarian, who’s that invested in her life??
Oh Jack was the perfect person for this job. He doesn’t even know what “putting the moves on” someone means.
No. It’s been like 12 seasons since you last tried to out a demon by saying “christo,” you don’t get to start up again NOW
Tumblr media
Hey costuming department? Wtf is this?
He really jumped from “I know next to nothing about romance, and that’s fine” to “Dean, you need to tell me everything about sex, now” REAL quick
He did not just call the librarian’s undead ex boyfriend Archie 💀
IT WAS DAY WHEN THEY GOT TO HER APARTMENT WHY IS IT NIGHT ALL OF A SUDDEN? They weren’t at her apartment that long. Just because it’s night for Sam and Charlie??
They’re…they’re not gonna kill Charlie twice are they? It’s one thing when it’s the boys, but she died so brutally last time. Oh good, she was just briefly knocked out
Oh. My. God. This is the best plot to a monster of the week episode. She’s still dating her necromanced boyfriend…and attracts different suitors because the boyfriend needs to feed on human flesh to keep his body mostly intact. You know, I’m not even mad at the pretty monsterfucking librarian, except for going after Jack.
She’s really putting the romance in necromancer
Awww, he’s pretty much convinced Charlie to stay ❤️
Oh poor Jack. He’s got himself a stalker now
This cough is not normal, and I’m so glad SOMEONE is finally finding that out
“Kerblam!”
Plot Description: the Doctor and her friends go undercover at the galaxy’s largest retailer, Kerblam
Man, this show really will not give up on trying to make fezes cool
Is Kerblam! Amazon for the galaxy? Great…ok, well, at least they’re 90% automated (allegedly)
This is possibly the weirdest capitalism in space episode I’ve seen. This girl’s outlook and backstory…actually everyone here is so run down and yet they’ve normalized it all
Ending an intimidating speech with “laters!” Is probably my favorite decision they’ve made this season
Why does this company/planet require 10% of the workforce to be human? Why is total automation bad?
Yeah, you don’t need to sonic everything. Sometimes you just need to tear off the head of a robot
Oh, these conveyor belts give the mail delivery system of Omashu a run for its money
Fantastic, the system running the company sent the fez with “help me” at the beginning of the episode
…the very human instinct to pop bubble wrap has been weaponized
Why is the message of this “automation of repetitive manual labor jobs bad”?

#State of decay 2 state of decay 3 professional
Women, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC colleagues thrived in both leadership and individual contributor roles while I was at Undead Labs. Of course, Schlosser denies the allegations and offered the following statement:īefore I left Undead Labs in a routine reorganization, I implemented new hiring practices that increased workforce diversity by more than 30 percent. Employees claim Schlosser did nothing against blatant sexism or even a Tech Art manager who almost drove the entire Tech Art team to quiet, but instead dismissed complaints as "pandemic driven."
#State of decay 2 state of decay 3 professional
While Undead Labs sold itself as a studio in transition, welcoming of diversity, equity and inclusion, it may have done so as mostly a facade to keep head of Microsoft Gaming Phil Spencer appeased during acquisition negotiations.Įven when staffed with a credited HR professional with Anne Schlosser to help address developer concerns, Labs persisted with its rampant culture of sexism, discrimination and incompetence. One former developer recalled men asking women to take notes during meetings, ignoring their expertise, and even making sexist remarks like, “You don’t look as pretty as normal today,” and “I’m surprised a girl like you has this job.” On top of all the managerial mishaps, additional friction arose from discriminatory practices against women, non-binary and "other marginalized employees."
#State of decay 2 state of decay 3 windows 10
State of Decay 2 video game on Xbox One and Windows 10 Gach lays forth a story of a studio dragged into success by Microsoft's acquisition and as such, drowning from lack of direction, sabotage, poor leadership and excessive turnover. As one former developer put it, “We were afraid they would come in and change our culture but our collapse came from within, and we could have used help.” Now they worry the $2 trillion company’s incredibly “hands-off” approach allowed dysfunction to fester, leaving some of the studio’s more vulnerable employees to fend for themselves. Most considered the last few years since the acquisition a period of crisis, and are worried management hasn’t learned the right lessons.Īt first, some employees were worried the Microsoft acquisition would change the indie studio for the worse. A few said it still has room to improve but has overall been a very good place to work. Many felt very positive about certain aspects of the studio. Kotaku interviewed 12 current and former employees for this article, all of whom requested anonymity because they feared sharing their concerns publicly would doom their careers in the video game industry.
#State of decay 2 state of decay 3 update
A recent update brought about a significant graphical overhaul, while several content updates are also planned for 2022.In a lengthy expose by Kotaku writer Ethan Gach, Undead Labs transition from small-time studio to Microsoft backed game developer is put under the microscope to reveal a studio plagued with the same industry issues of misogyny, mismanagement and burnout as any other. Meanwhile, State of Decay 2 players still have plenty to look forward to as well. “They’ve had this pattern – they’ve talked about it publically from State of Decay 1 to 2 to 3 and what they want to do, and we haven’t shown a lot … it’s a game I really enjoy playing, I’m a big co-op player, I like building, I like resourcing… and I’m really excited about where that team’s going.”Įarlier this year, it was confirmed that developer Undead Labs had opened up a new studio as State of Decay 3 production ramps up, and that the game is being built on Unreal Engine 5. “This one’s probably not that big of a surprise for people who have watched me play, but I was a big State of Decay 2 player… looking at State of Decay 3, I’m incredibly excited about some of the advancements they’re going to make,” Spencer said (transcribed by Pure Xbox). Speaking in a recent episode of the Xbo圎ra podcast, Xbox boss Phil Spencer talked up State of Decay 3, sharing brief impressions of his time with the game and how “incredibly excited” he is “about some of the advancements” it’s making over its predecessors. It seems, however, like it’s shaping up well behind the scenes. Since the announcement of State of Decay 3 nearly a couple of years ago, we haven’t really heard much of significance about Undead Labs’ upcoming zombie survival title, though given the fact that the game at the time was still in early pre-production, it isn’t a surprise that the developer isn’t quite ready to show more of it just yet.

In Tales of Grandier
There are two leaders who rule hell together. They are Lucifer and Death. Though the land was originally given to Death as a punishment, Lucifer does more leadering. Meaning, he keeps things running.
Death had taken the life of Celeste, and now must handle the deaths of all living beings. He also has been cursed to never touch the living again. Anything organic will turn to dust in his grasp, no matter what. However, over the centuries, he has found a loophole or two. He is the original reaper, and most others come from him.
Death spends his days in his office, filing each death file without a break. He doesn't eat or sleep, but he doesn't really need to. Still, his more "human" form has rotten away into a skeleton.
If you were to peek inside his office, your presence would be a warm welcome. However, do prepare to have your mind fully analyzed.
°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•
Lucifer is the second ruler over hell. You are more likely to see him than any other demon. Despite his high status, he likes to make himself known with both members of the under and overworld. If you do see him, don't expect to realize it immediately. The only tell tale sign is his earrings, which he always has in all of his forms. They have a blue bead and a skull. He often switches bodies for one reason or another. He has a preference for men, but can pick a woman's body from time to time. He has another form outside of possessing bodies, but it's too horrific to be shown to anyone.
Lucifer has a multitude of abilities at his arsenal. His main one is his use of soul magic. By making contracts and deals, he can turn people's souls into raw and potent magic. This type of magic is extremely powerful, but at a high cost. However, there is nothing stopping the average person from practicing it. The only issue would be the soul magic itself, which can easily consume the user. Lucifer seems to have a solution for this, as he's still "alive."
After making a deal with Lucifer, depending on the contract, a person can live life as normal. However, there will always be a mark of Lucifer's presence over them as their master. This comes in the form of earrings that they cannot take off. They match Lucifer's, except the blue bead is red on a slave. Even if one cuts off their own ears, they will not be free of Lucifer's presence. At any time, he could use one of his slaves for
Whatever he may feel like.
Luckily, he doesn't do that often. Since Tales of Grandier takes place during a time of "peace," there is little reason for Lucifer to actually use his slaves. Instead, he continues to gather them for his own plans. But when he isn't out doing that, he enjoys leisure. Way too much leisure. He gets up to everything and anything, and is a womanizer. And a manizer.
He doesn't have a preference for that either.
°•°•°•°•°•°
The people of the underworld are quite fond of their rulers, since their undead life is quite enjoyable. that is if you're without too much sin, of course. Once you pay for your crimes, you can live an easy afterlife regardless. It was Lucifer's idea to make the underworld actually enjoyable for those who "didn't do much wrong." He also wanted a workforce to build out his world of endless worldly desires, since he's technically banned from heaven and the overworld. Also also, he really hates the rules of heaven in the first place. All of this lead to some kind of las Vegas underground.

Children of BFFH, Entry 148
“Think they’ll finish claiming the foundry today?” I asked, knowing Messy could see everyone’s progress.
“If we go help them or the quadruplets join them, probably.  The quadruplets will be coming up the drive in a few minutes.” stated Messy while sorting through the paperwork for our town.
While the others were primarily expanding our wealth, Messy and I had volunteered for the overly complicated management duties, partially because my character had an inheritance boost to the Administration skill. The Administration skill would highlight what needed my attention the most, whether a line in a document or an entire stack of documents containing pressing issues.  The higher my skill, the more precise the skill would become and greater range it would encompass.  If I didn’t have my skill high enough to encompass a city by the time Madness became a city, then documents related to outlying problems wouldn’t attract my notice.  Messy might have something even better, but I was just glad that she was helping me.
Auntie Aaliyah enjoyed making things complicated, partially because complicated things were typically more interesting and partially because she had a sick sense of humor.  In Ancient Tribes of Earth, the value of everything shifted slightly from day-to-day or even hour-to-hour if a shortage was discovered.  Laborers needed paid, complaints needed attention, and clear plans for potential problems needed to be in place before the townsfolk rioted, which we actually did have some undead townsfolk at this point.  Messy even expected that we’d have living townsfolk migrating to us in the near future.
I knew that Ella had an enormous backlog for building sites she needed to prepare, but she almost worked too fast.  Funds were disappearing as fast as my friends were acquiring them, and we wouldn’t even be collecting taxes for a couple weeks yet.  Even then, we didn’t have enough citizens to acquire a meaningful amount of revenue, especially with how low we set the tax rate to try encouraging migration.  The main thing going for us at the moment was that the undead didn’t need food, so there couldn’t be any shortages, especially with how Doc had already prepared a surplus for when living residents joined us.  Well, maybe not needing food was the second highest thing going for us.  The mindless undead workforce was probably first, since that was saving us a fortune on construction.
“You could make Crazy do this.” suggested Messy.  “I know you like to emulate the Boss, but he’s never claimed that administration is fun.”
I looked away from my screen to stare at her for several seconds before looking back at what I had been working on.  “Father does what he does because it helps people.  Knowing that they’re living better lives thanks to his work is enough for him, and I am quite certain all of us will be quite happy once our town is populated, grows, and runs smoothly.  I am not complaining.”
“You’re also not having fun.” she pointed out as she made her character place another pile of paperwork on my character’s desk.
“Fun is for later.  We’re still in the overwhelming work stage!” I insisted, catching her amused smile as I glanced at her.
“I just don’t want you caught in one of Mom’s traps, blowing your free time to learn something instead of playing the game for fun.” she teased.
“You know that I’m well aware we’ve already been snared, but all of us agreed to Crazy’s plan because we wanted to carve out our own place in the game like our parents did.” I told her, smiling as I thought about what this town might become.
“That’s better.  Smiling suits you.  You were frowning earlier, and that puts everyone on edge.” she told me, not wrong in the slightest.
I nodded and thanked her.  Though my power wasn’t as potent as Father’s, I really did have to watch my mood.  If I let myself grow too annoyed, everyone would feel it.  The trick, as Father told me, was to always keep something pleasant in mind even while working.  I just hadn’t mastered it as he had.  I really was lucky to have Messy around.  She always knew how to help me and was willing to do so.
“The quadruplets are here.  They’ve already asked Sis where we are, so there’s no point in heading up to welcome them home, though Momma Ai and Momma Mai are making them unpack before they can come down here.  I sometimes envy their bond.” commented Messy, obviously watching them while still sorting papers in game.
“Isn’t Crazy close enough to a sister to satisfy you?” I asked, knowing that Messy couldn’t really see Crazy as a niece with the small age gap.  If Leilani wasn’t so different from how my siblings had behaved at her age, I’d probably think of her more like a sister too.
Messy ignored me, probably knowing that Crazy would have heard me and be watching.  Having friends who might start watching you if you say their name did tend to make for interesting situations, but I didn’t often envy the ability.  I was already aware of enough for my senses to be inconvenient at times, like when I am stuck listening to the sound of Aspy’s feet hitting his chair because he’s swinging them.  Tuning out the sound of everyone chewing at meals took me years of practice.  Messy and Crazy were stuck being even more aware of so much more.  I felt for them.
Several minutes later, the quadruplets joined us.  “What is everyone up to?” asked one of them.
I really did envy Father’s ability to tell the quadruplets and their mothers apart.  “I’d suggest you help the others with the Dwarven foundry quest they’re doing.  You’d probably like the place!” I suggested, happy to see their excitement as they took their seats.  “Also, welcome back!  The chocolates you gave me were delectable.”
 “You’re welcome!” they all replied.
Since real world engineering knowledge was applicable in Ancient Tribes of Earth, I was looking forward to seeing what the quadruplets would do with a foundry before the Dwarves arrived.
