7. do you prefer to read short fics or long fics?
yes i like to read B) LOL but fr i don’t really think i have a preference in length? i will admit though, if it tends to be a bit longer, i take a lot of breaks in between and that happens regardless of how immersed i am in the story 🐋 i don’t like looking at my phone/computer for a long period of time so therefore 😔
16. do you research for your fics? if so, how deep of a rabbit hole have you gone down by accident when researching?
i feel like i’ve experienced so little in the world that i end up researching ever little thing for my aus 😵💫 but it’s always the just general idea of things, i don’t usually add the tiny details and kind of let my fantasy run that part of the story. i find that sometimes when i research too much into smth, i lose track of my creativity and what i wanted to accomplish with the original story i planned :/
34. how much of yourself and your life experiences do you put into your writing? what do you think your readers' image of you is?
i don’t think there’s anything i’ve written that doesn’t have a piece of me or my life in it (did i word that write?) 🌱 this may sound so obvious and so cliche but… my stories are my stories, of course there’s going to be some part of me involved when i’m writing. i’m not exposing my diary 🥴 but there’s different aspects of me and my life that make it in my fics that come in different forms! the emotions i write and feelings that my characters go through, indeed i have felt. i probably copy and pasted exact words i heard from a mcdonalds drive thru into one of fics somewhere 🤷♀️ all the hyperspecific details in my fics are most likely huge tmi’s in my daily life that u guys probably didn’t need to know 🤪
honestly tho………. i just hope my readers’ image of me is. nice 👍 XCBXNCBXB LIKE. bonus points if you guys think i’m funny <3 but looking back at some of the things i’ve written, i really aim for comfort. so @ my readers, i hope you guys know that i am giving you the biggest warmest hug (achieved thru my writing) 🐘
43. talk about a positive experience with fanfiction or the fanfiction community that you will always remember.
this question makes me so :(( bc i remember when i first started writing and it was so much fun just creating smth and in the end, being so proud of yourself bc damn. i made that! 🌟 and it didn’t matter if it reached a certain audience, it only took a singular person that constantly loved my stories. praising and encouraging me to write more, fueling ideas out of me. that feeling is almost cathartic to me 🌌
beyond that, i have met some of my closest friends now through the fanfic community, readers and writers alike. gosh and when i tell you that these are some of the best friendships i could ever ask for 🥺 💥 literally unmatched. i could say so much abt the people i’ve met here, but i wouldn’t be the same person i am today without the help of some of the people i’ve met here on this platform. ♥️

Hello Wise One! I was actually hoping if you can give me some solid personality pointers on Jango, rather than Boba, Fett?
sure thing! full disclosure that my knowledge of jango is not as extensive as my knowledge of boba, but i’ll do my best with what i have! here are some personality traits of jango’s i’ve observed:
paranoid/protective: this is a big one if you ask me. jango endured a life of betrayal and loss before he became a bounty hunter and it shows. besides boba, he doesn’t trust anyone fully, not even those closest to him and is always ready to cut ties at the drop of a hat—lethally, if necessary. his mistrust of the rest of the galaxy is so potent that when he takes boba on missions to populated areas, he instructs him to hide even from normal foot traffic and becomes anxious when he learns that others may have spotted him. it becomes pretty evident that part of the reason boba was so isolated growing up was that jango didn’t trust the vast majority of the galaxy enough to let them near the kid. and when other bounty hunters find out about him? ho boy. jango actually convinces them that he killed boba using a cloned child’s body, bc he’d rather be known as the worst kind of monster rather than make boba a target. there’s also the fact that, after their apartment on kamino gets found out by obi-wan, jango is packed and ready to leave in minutes. not only is he ready to bug out at the first sign of danger, but he’s well-prepared to do so at a moment’s notice.
a loving father: another big one. for those who look at a man as battle-hardened and stoic as jango fett and wonder whether boba got enough affection as a kid, worry not: in the vast majority of depictions, jango is a very loving father, especially when he’s out of the prying eyes of clients and colleagues. he hugs boba, tells him he loves him, joins him in playing with toy starfighters, and tries to make time for him as much as he can. he even does his dadly duty of going fishing with his son (though he and boba practice spearfishing rather than using a rod and tackle). there’s also a wistful little scene where, trying to help boba feel better after zam’s death, he takes him to kamino’s main spaceport and lets him infodump about all the ships he sees there :,) so overall, he has a lot of good qualities as a dad
controlling: and the other side of the coin! while jango is a genuinely loving father, he’s not at all the type to encourage his son’s independent development. self-sufficiency? sure. interests in anything other than the path jango has laid out for him? not really. he actively discourages boba from learning about “unimportant” topics from books, an apparently very broad category given it includes things such as schools, moms, and other children. he drills into boba’s head that he’s going to be a bounty hunter and that he needs to abide by a code with such healthy guidelines like, “don’t have friends or attachments” and “trust no one but use everyone.” boba, of course, goes with it bc he loves his father and wants to live up to his expectations, but he never really gets a choice in the matter. honestly, i think this side of jango is best summed up by him leaving a post-humous note for boba that says, among other things, “i am more than a parent to you.” it kind of goes along with how, after jango’s death, boba continued to think of his father not just with love and grief, but also an almost religious dread of failing his expectations. jango undoubtedly loved his son but he also seems to have defined a very narrow path for him to walk, without room for deviation.
possesses an actual charisma score: okay, now for a more fun one: jango has a charisma score and he apparently makes a habit of using it, to the point where his old friend rozatta pokes fun at him for it (he compliments her and she’s like “oh, you’re flattering me? must mean you want something!”) he also pulls the same thing on zam, calling her charming to get her to agree to help him break into a target’s stronghold. so yeah, jango fett turning up the charm to get people to help him/give him info? 100% canon, baby
very fun friendship with zam wesell: look, this isn’t a personality trait, but it’s important to me. these two are just so fucking funny together. like, on the surface, it’s just a fun dynamic of zam making flirty banter and jokes while jango pretends to be annoyed and drag her, much to her delight. but then on a professional level, you have these two ammoral assholes bouncing wildly between being one another’s Sexy Rival and being one another’s Unhinged Partner but whoops, jango went and had a kid, so now they’re Unhinged But Mostly Responsible Co-Parents. one of my favorite scenes is when, in an attempt to intimidate a prisoner into talking, zam impersonates a politician and lets jango pretend to “kill” her in front of him. for some reason, even after they’re done, jango continues to bridal carry zam’s “body” into the cockpit of slave I, at which point, she perks up, bats her eyelashes at him, and goes, “you’d never really kill me would you, jango?” jango quite honestly replies, “only if i had to.” there’s a beat and then zam’s like, “....you’re so sweet! 😘” honestly, they’re so stupid, i love them
ascetic: much like his son, jango doesn’t seem to have much interest in luxury or “the finer things.” despite having enough money to live very comfortably, his apartment on kamino is described as “spartan” in design and furnishing. this may have something to do with the first bullet point, given that a simple life is easier to pack up and take with you at a moment’s notice, but i do think there’s some amount of preference in this lifestyle, given it’s what both fetts seem most comfortable with in all circumstances.
traumatized: i mean, he’s a fett, ain’t he? particularly, just like boba after him, jango is traumatized by the loss of his family, especially his own father figure, jaster mereel. much like boba, jango seems haunted by the need to live up to jaster’s name and legacy. for background, jaster was betrayed and killed in an ambush by the leader of deathwatch, after which he passed on the title of mand’alor to jango. however, some time after this, the true mandalorians led by jango were wiped out by a combination of death watch and the jedi, with jango himself being stripped of his armor and sold as a slave. after this point, jango does not seem to see himself as worthy of jaster’s legacy and thus attempts to pass it on to his son, resulting in the high and narrow expectations he sets for boba as mentioned in bullet point #3. boba himself concludes as much as an adult. on top of the trauma of losing his family, jango also seems to have been traumatized by his time as a slave. most notably, when he’s being tortured after being captured by target komari vosa, he at first remains fairly stoic, even as she starts to mutilate his face. it isn’t until she mentions enslaving him that he seems to panic, struggling desperately to get away. vosa even laughs and says that she must have touched a nerve with her comment. basically: fetts be traumatized :(
soft spot for (some) kids: another thing that’s interesting about jango is that he... usually attempts to do right when kids are involved. i say “usually” bc fat lot of good it did all the cloned children he had a hand in creating >:( but, for example, after killing a runaway clonetrooper as part of a bounty, he finds out that the clone had a son. unwilling to let the child live in poverty due to his own actions, he has regular payments sent to the boy’s mother to help support him. in another instance, jango and zam help deliver an artifact to a client who intends to use it to carry out a terrorist attack on coruscant against millions of civilians. when zam finds out about the client’s intentions, she’s horrified and goes to jango demanding they steal the artifact back. jango completely brushes her off at first, telling her it’s not his problem and that he needs to spend more time with his son. zam coldly asks him how many “sons” he thinks live on coruscant. needless to say, her argument convinces him to join her in stopping the terrorist plot :,)
aaand that’s all i got at the moment! i hope it helps to characterize jango a little bit more!

1) How many works do you have on AO3?
on ao3 i have 28. tbf though i never transferred over a bunch of my stuff from lj back in the day.
2) What’s your total AO3 word count?

3) How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
11 listed on ao3. shout out though to house, which i wrote a bunch for but it never made it to ao3, and likely never will, and also to sherlock holmes which i wrote some fic for but more significantly, spend 2 years roleplaying. also if we want to get real nostalgic, the hits from my ffn days included such fandoms as lizzie mcguire, buffy, star trek voyager, monk, and of course, labyrinth.
4) What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Inevitable Homoeroticism in Spanish Romantic Heroes: my dean is a hispanist, grad school au. written bc at the time i was reading so many college aus and going you know what. you know what this fandom needs. and also i need therapy and instead i will write this fic.
i’m so glad it was and still is well received, and until this year’s dcbb, i thought i’d never write something as personally significant as this ever again. i’m happy to be adding something else to that list shortly (and hope it’s as well liked!).
as a sidenote, this fic was requested by and heavily cheerleaded by a friend of mine who has since passed away, and i will always think of jaymee when i think of this fic.
Like Real People Do: my impulse-written, kneejerk reaction to cas’s confession in 15x18. i wanted cas to have a chance to process his feelings separate from dean and also i wanted to push back on the notion that he was happy just saying it bc maybe after all he wants dean to love him back. it’s fitting that it comes after the grad school au in this list bc it was my return to fandom. also a rare example of me writing cas pov. (soon to not be so rare.)
Flying in Circles Inside a Jar: a s5 era fic where dean and cas get together in a roundabout way. god this was written so long ago and there are parts of it i want to change, but overall i’m still proud of a lot of moments in this fic. some good dialogue in here.
Command Me to Be Well: my angstier entry into my s15 fix-its. dean decides that he will let him and cas have sex but they can’t have feelings about it. this got way more popular than i thought it would, and it took me forever to write it, but it was definitely proof to me that i could come back to writing bc i had to edit this fic a bunch, and i was always horrible at editing. but i have better meds now yay!
fourth place is technically the codas to the grad school au, which also have some good moments but also the last coda i wrote makes me cry when i think about it still. but bc it’s part of the same universe i’m going to add:
Some Boys are Sleeping Alone: another early days fic ft. dean coming to terms with his sexuality and how it was affected by his father among other things throughout his life. this has essentially become the backbone to my conception of dean’s sexuality in canon. it ends sad! plot twist for me these days.
what i love about this list, looking at it now, is that it’s a healthy mix of my old stuff and my new stuff, and overall represents well my themes of dean’s bisexual journey and several examples of cas standing up for himself, though s4/s5 cas was just like that.
5) Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
i didn’t back in the day so much bc, you know, grad school, i was busy. i’ve been trying to since i got back into writing but have been staring at my inbox of things i need to reply to for like three months. i will do it at some point!
6) What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
god i don’t know. i wrote so much angstier stuff back in the day. i don’t really want to re-peruse all the random stuff on my ao3 but here’s one that sticks out to me even still: the au that has quinn fabray from glee in a sham marriage with jason mcconnell from bare: a pop opera and no one is happy. no one asked for this fic but i had many feelings about it.
7) What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
these days most of my fics end happy, but the one that still has me tear up at the end is the fluff entry i wrote for dean’s birthday: through autumn’s advancing. it’s jody that always gets me. jody hugging and murmuring a goodbye to dean, and then dean watching as she hugs and whispers something to cas. i don’t know what she’s saying but her embracing cas just gets me every time.
8) Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?
oh boy. back in the day, i would write just about anything anyone asked of me, and i prided myself on selling the wildest concepts imaginable. my lj contains a multitude of shames, but on ao3 probably the wildest is supernatural/my little pony: friendship is magic. here’s another example of me writing cas as he bonds with fluttershy.
9) Have you ever received hate on a fic?
i don’t... think so?
10) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
boy do i! uh the naked kind?? idk my approach to sex scenes is to try to capture realism but in the emotional sense. usually there’s a fun amount of dialogue. some amount of significance beyond just the act itself. i think my big thing is still representing the characters as themselves, in character.
11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that i’m aware of.
12) Have you ever had a fic translated?
i don’t think so?!
13) Have you ever co-written a fic before?
this dcbb is essentially being like executive produced by @marbleflan. but there may be a more explicitly co-written fic coming up. :) :) :)
14) What’s your all time favorite ship?
dean/cas, hands down. nothing will ever compare to the absolute insanity of the way they happened in this television show.
15) What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
i started a dean/benny/cas purgatory fic that i want to get back to one day... also my fic with ghost!kevin teaming up with human blood!crowley and human!cas.
16) What are your writing strengths?
i’d like to think it’s capturing the feel of the character and staying ic. that’s my #1 goal always and the best comment i could ever receive. i like my dialogue too.
17) What are your writing weaknesses?
plot. i can’t plot to save my life. also editing. also inventing any original character is an absolute blindspot of mine.
18) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
well i mean. i have. done that. my bilingual experience involves some weaving in and out of a language in conversation, usually mid-sentence or once you hit a word you either can’t think of in one language or feels better in another. or filler words/phrases like well, or let’s go.
19) What was the first fandom you wrote for?
gosh. probably lizzie mcguire.
20) What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
the grad school au will always hold a special place in my heart. but i also really love this one i wrote that was a love letter to the virginia state fair, which i went to like every year when i was a kid and still hold a lot of nostalgia and love for in my heart. i really want to retool that one. there are some things i want to change about it, you know, almost ten years later.

OOOH quick character profile b4 i start though
15. How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first?
for kalyani she usually HAS to rehearse what shes going to say especially if shes talking to people in customer service HELP she wont go anywhere unless she knows exactly what she has to say as the one talking (and she'll usually botch it up somehow in a very minor way that doesn't effect anything but she'll keep thinking about it so </3) but if shes with people who ALSO cant talk, she automatically takes over w/o rehearsing as the person whos talkative. when shes hungry/angry/not thinking, words will come out of her mouth whether they be scathing or hilarious and she has no control over them. (i TOLD yall shes my projection character like)
16. What makes their stomach turn?
on the surface: bland food. she cannot stand just plain salt and sugar and also hates food that makes her mouth feel sort of scratchy/itchy ish? (so apples, pineapples, bananas, cantaloupe, mangoes, etc.) she still eats mangoes though bc i thought ill give this one to my desi friends to make up for me <3
like otherwise: everything if she thinks too hard and spirals about it. JHDGSASFDK but mostly being left by everyone she knows. and thus she's constantly trying to overcompensate and prove why she should be kept through gifts, services, etc. she can't fathom the idea of people liking her without her being useful of some sort
20. If they were asked to explain the difference between romantic and platonic or familial love, how would they do so?
HELP so shes aro and she can't really tell the difference between them since her family and friends are very affectionate with each other but after researching on her own and realizing she's aro she stoll has like VERY blurred lines but she tries to differentiate with colors like for example:
familial love to her is red and orange with slights of brown. the aroma of spices in the kitchen and hair getting washed braided and massaged with oil, like a warm hug and the steam from a mug of chai hitting your face. ^.^
platonic love is the cool colors of blue and green, a breath of fresh air, a nice breeze that wraps around her and lets the stress from her shoulders go as she lets go. like water hitting your face on a hot day of summer as you laugh and your eyes squeeze together in glee and joy. !!
romantic love is white. a blank slate of which she has no interest in finding out. she sees it all around her and it surrounds her like pristine air around you. she's fine with it and deems it important to others but shes fine with not knowing what it feels like <3
she also likes to explain to people that its all one soup. familial is cinnamon and cloves, and most of the spice, what makes a soup A SOUP bc w/o family or her found family she wouldn't be who she is; platonic is the broth and the meat/vegetables, what is most of the soup and how her friendships have shaped her and changed her for the better, and romantic is the tiny pinch of sugar we add, there but unnoticeable to her and unnecessary/necessary to some

29. Do they usually live up to their own ideals?
despite her kind of nice and 'bubbly' attitude, she's a pessimist and although she had big dreams, involving her education and powers and just. wildish kiddish ideas she's gotten realistic especially since shes moved away from her parents and has kind of just. tried to make it through every day with a checklist of what she should keep in mind (like her family, her friends, her happiness, and feeling the sun on her skin) instead of focusing on how people around her are probably achieving what she wanted to once upon a time ago yk? so yes? but also no? HELP did i even answer this question sorry </3

So I see you clearly are not a fan of Scott and I’m wondering if you read anti-scott fics? Like either bad friend Scott or just Scott is a dumbass? (i was slightly uncomfortable with the premise of, basically, a fic about an asexual character all about... well, sex. but i wanted to work some shit out and what better way than overprojecting over fictional characters?)

1. what does your muse smell like? realistically she stinks bc it’s the early 1800s and daily baths weren’t a thing yet but we say fuck realism on this blog & natasha showers. also, although she’s definitely not as much of a francophile as many other russian elites were in her time, natasha has taken a liking to some of the more french perfumes that her grandparents occasionally send her so she often smells vaguely of assorted flowers.
2. what does your muse’s hands feel like? soft-ish. she uses lotions/creams daily and doesn’t do much that involves her overworking her hands. but still she plays piano, plays rough, and does a lot of dumb stuff that would affect how her hands feel. and russia is cold, so they dry out often and probably wouldn’t be crazy soft.
3. what does your muse usually eat in a day? her family, although they are, again, russian elites, aren’t as into french culture as many other familes were. a lot of the food they ate on a normal day is traditional russian stuff with french twists so its ~fancy~– so lots of beets, starchy stuff, A LOT of tea... like samovar always open and ready, drink out of fancy samovar thats only meant to be ornamental amounts of tea. and they had money so probably a lot more meaty stuff that the average peasant/serf (i forget what they were called in russia). but when guests are over, which is rlly often, she does have a lot more of the same food and more stuff that would’ve been french so a lot of pastries... a snail maybe? pheasant? i haven’t done all my research on this but yeah. beets, starch, tea, meat, DESSERT.
4. does your muse have a good singing voice? technically it’s a flawed voice but it’s charming in a very listenable way... and mind you, she’s been taught classically, but she would very much be a novice in the realm of opera, which would have been closer the type of singing that people would expect from her. it’s not a very mature voice, which is part of the problem, and it’s not particularly high so she’s not really impressing anyone with skill, but rather with her tone and honestly her stage presence. natasha has a way of making you want to listen when she sings. so does she have a good singing voice? yeah, it’s not bad at all. but you don’t really ask natasha to sing because you think she’s going to blow you away, you ask natasha to sing because she’s a joy to watch.
5. does your muse have any bad habits or nervous ticks? natasha finds herself in a lot of. not-so-great relationships & friendships. ultimately it has a lot to do with the fact that she can be a bit of a difficult person to be in a relationship with... natasha kinda commands a lot of attention and needs a lot of confirmations that the people she surrounds herself with still love her and still want to spend time with her. and she clings to the past wayyy too much. her nervous tick is straight up crying anytime she feels anything close to nervousness.
6. what does your muse usually look like/wear? oh yeah she likes the fashionable french stuff with the super high waistlines and buns, but she likes it when her mom and sonya add russian patterns to them and make them look more folksy. she wears white because all women wore white back then, it was super in style. but she’ll also wear light & pastel versions of other colors, especially yellow, beige-ish colors. the most vibrant things you’ll see on her is flowers somewhere in her outfit or hair and the designs. this doesn’t apply to some other verses, like the modern verse, where she’s rlly into that girly instagram girl kinda dress where the clothes are all flowy and flowery and colorful, the tsarina verse where shes literally a queen so she obv. wears way more white as well as more expensive things like bright colored dresses & crowns & such, and the unofficial time travel verse that exists in my head with @tiimedtm where natasha wears jason’s clothes bc she cant wear napoleanic stuff in like. the future.
7. is your muse affectionate? how much? how so? HELL YEAH BAEBEE ITS HER #1 TRAIT. she’ll always reach for hands, faces, waists just to be touching someone. natasha’s big on eye contact too, which might be weird for some people but feels really intimate for her. she’s always gonna be the one to reach in for kisses or for a hug... almost always a little spoon & will force the other person to grab her tight but if she is a big spoon she’ll fucking suffocate someone with closeness. when natasha’s with people, she’s really with people. partly cause she’s all horned up but i’m not going into it for reasons including the law, creepiness, and also i dont want to.
8. what position does your muse sleep in? on her side depending on which is least cold, two pillows under her head, one in her arms. she used to have to share a bed with sonya so she got used to sleeping on her side because otherwise she would definitely starfish out and push sonya off the bed.

hmm. im sitting outside becuase, lets be real mostly becuase I wanted another drink. also bc its raining and I thought it would be nice to sit under this shelter uit isn’t really sheltered and actually im just eing rained on too much. and i wanted to listen to musis. and so i said, ill journal. so here i am. just moved into a diff chair so im more internal to the structure and not getting rained on so much. and so im journaling.
my therapist says its good for things to be explicit and in retrospect i feel taht way. i do feel like that, like when some things that have made me feel bad come up with kyle, I feel a lot of anxiety for a couple days and then.. it passes but to be honest, it doesn’t feel repressed, it feels processed. that feels nice to realize. i know this is small peas becuase I’m not like deeply invested in anything with kyle and even though i’m not doing so, it also kind felt empowering to realize that I am prepared to leave even this friendship behind if it doesn’t serve me, and even then I still feel okay with my life. but how much of that is becuase other people are also showing interest in me. flannery in particular. people seem actively interested in continuing to spend time with me. of course, I have had this feeling in tucson and it has not gone anywhere and has landed on more loneliness. I dont know.

the ‘bureaucratizing of peoples lives’ making me feel physically ill. I want to write more about this job, I know I always felt htat with nmd, that like it felt weird to give too much attention to the intense things that happened for some reason, but I do believe in creating a record and for my future self or whatever I shoudl write down what I’m seeing and such because, it is real, and I should be able to acknowledge that it’s real.

Something that rubbed me the wrong way in our conversation was hearing you describe it in those terms of like, I wanted a place to go and a person to like be a distraction or whatever and parker seemed available... that obviously wasn't like new or surprising information especially in the beginning of hanging out , it was clear that you werent like reaching out out of some organic sudden desire to develop our friendship and that did feel weird to me but also fine, i just reconciled it like yknow, I also want company, especially this month with sophie leaving, etc... but I guess hearing you say it I realized that I no longer feel ok with it, like at this point in our friendship it definitely does feel bad to this of this dynamic as still just essentially like kyle has needs and im a random person who is available to fill them, and not to feel values as like a unique person youre intentionally wanting to spend time with / be friends with. I know things aren't as black and white // mutually exclusive as this sounds but idk that part of the conversation did not make me feel particularly valued and made me feel a little icky

Dream last night: I was trying to see my therapists but my therapists were 3 people, and they were like magic too like the therapy was kinda a witch thing. I was living (or staying) in this house which was Kristen Vick's house she grew up in. We were trying to find a private enough spot for therapy/magic but it was hard... were trying to meet in basement but sam hopkins was down there. at some point we wound up on the stairs to the basement. but we had used up a lot of the session trying to get situated/ find a spot. i dont remember much else except there was more of me being with my 3 therapist witches and driving around the city, which was sort of richmond but not really, and somehow margo was involved. I'm now getting a memory of being somewhere and sophie being there, maybe drunk, this part is too fuzzy
things to maybe talk to this therapist about: that dream, my memories from kristens house. that I don’t know if/how those memories play into the “memory network” about me being unlikeable, but I do see a connection in the secrecy, being so surprised when taylor came ove and just talked about it, because I always hid it. and how my mom always hides things too, will is still secret, she never admitted to smoking cigarettes until she quit.
kristens house: I felt so afraid. I have written about this. writing it so I can admit to myself that it was real. I felt so scared to walk around her house and I was awkwardly like plead her to come with me if we were in the basement and I needed to go upstairs to her room. he would find me and he would hold me, usually just hold me on his lap. really tight and wouldn’t let me go even if I struggled. would probably like say he loved me or something. the one time that kristen and I had been playing like riding sleeping bags downt he stairs. and then when i had to go upstairs alone and he said he wanted to play the sleeping ad game with me and he held my whole body against his on the floor and made me slowly “ride down the stairs” with him and held me there a long time. I still kinda remember the feeling of yea just feeling so gross. I never told kristen or anyone about this. then one time taylor came over too and she was just like “kristens dad hugged me a lot and it felt weird and creepy” and it just made me feel like soooo... mind blow that she just.. told people that?? i still get that feeling now hwen people just like, say something honestly that I have never once considered admitting honestly.

@politeyeti , it’s been like... a billion years, but i lost my original post (tumblr ate a bunch of my drafts) and then i forgot about it and then i forgot what i wrote and now i remember. so here it is... more trans!delphine.
the Business Professional suits she wore in season 3 made what was already a hellish emotional nightmare into a hellish emotional dysphoric nightmare. she can’t even look at shoulder pads anymore.
she’s really bad at expressing herself about anything. she doesn’t feel like she has a right to be upset about the horrible things that have happened because she caused some of them. literally the only thing she ever candidly talks to cosima about is dysphoria. through talking about it so much she gets really good at identifying a lot of her biggest triggers and gets better at avoiding/dealing with them. but then she has to talk about her other feelings because there’s nothing left to talk about. she can’t decide if it was a good thing or a bad thing.
loves loves loves loves baths. hates hates hates hates that the basement lab bathroom only has a shower stall. showering together is nice but it’s not cuddling together in a cocoon of warm water surrounded by bath bomb fragrances.
has not cut her face shaving in almost a decade. tells anyone who will listen at every opportunity.
petey doesn’t give her hormones while she’s on the island. so on her lil old people poop adventures she finds a drug dealer that sells hormones to trans people who would not otherwise be able to get them. she gets pills because they are the easiest to hide in a plastic bag in her bra. but she has to ration them, seeing as she doesn’t know when she’ll be out next. she literally never lets the baggie out of her sight, even going as far as bathing with them.
mrs. s notices. probably because she has to take a dose while they’re talking and the really cool and great mood swings she gets from taking them improperly. when she gets to the lab after geneva her preferred method of hormone intake is waiting for her with a note that promises that she’ll have as many as she needs until she can get to a doctor and a new prescription.
the ptsd, the anxiety, the depression, the dysphoria, the guilt, and the new prescription really lower her sex drive. cosima has half of the same things but it has the opposite effect. they have to come up with a 1 to 10 rating system for how Not Okay they are with sexing/not sexing and the conversation of “you don’t have to if you don’t want to” “but i want to make you happy” etc etc ad nauseam usually just leads to cuddle/kissing half naked.
and a coshayphine au outline below the cut bc *bill wurts voice* i’m a piece of garbage. mobile users, please pardon the length. i just have a lot of feelings.
shay works for a company that is somehow involved in the conspiracy some way. she doesn’t know, but shows up where delphine got shot and saves her. once back at the home base she offers her home as the safe house bc she sees how unwilling to talk to people she is.
delphine is treated, they give her pain meds but nothing else. so eventually she has to come out to shay to get hormones. shay is surprised, but is overall very supportive. even though it’s the bare minimum of human decency to not throw someone out of your home for being trans, it touches delphine and makes her really emotional. (there’s probably an element of somebody caring for her wellbeing as well that makes her cry real hard.)
shay urges her to call cosima. she’s not well. she needs someone who knows her. or is at least someone she didn’t threaten. but delphine is terrified. she doesn’t know if cosima even wants to see her. if she feels the same. if she would even care that delphine is marooned in toronto or would do anything about it. and she doesn’t have anybody else.
whatever place she used to pull her strength from, that place that made her stand back up after she’d been knocked down is empty or gone. she’s got nothing left. she can barely keep it together when she asks to borrow a book and shay brings out a whole box. if she can’t handle someone being kind then if cosima isn’t kind to her... what kind of state would that put her in?
so shay lets it drop. but it is a goal that they have. eventually, even if it is years from now, delphine will call cosima and tell her what happened.
shay reads up on trans women. all of her trans friends are trans masculine so she really has no idea what she may need, and if they’re going to be roommates she’s gotta know her shit. she comes to delphine after a while asking, “so i read a lot of stuff about trans women in general, but i was wondering if there was anything you needed. like i know trans men have packers and binders and i know trans women have shaping underwear. but i don’t know if you want any. or if... you would need that... or... you know...” delphine just laughs at her a little. “that was a lot of words.” she says she doesn’t really need much, just a razor for her face and some underwear in the next size up would be nice.
after that delphine lets shay help her bathe. she didn’t want to out herself, but now that she’s out the smell from the places she couldn’t reach without ripping her stitches out is getting to be a bigger problem than any kind of shyness.
baths and bandage changings lead to hair brushing/braiding and eventually cuddling. shay figures out that touch grounds delphine. if she’s off in some panic spiral, a hand on her knee can bring her back and a hug can calm her down. they become really close friends.
after delphine finds a sweater that used to belong to cosima she has a minor breakdown. she details what she felt with cosima, someone who was kind and understanding and who didn’t have some kind of crisis of sexuality after finding out she was trans. she misses her so much and is afraid she’ll never find someone like that again, that she’s either going to be alone forever or have a series of bad relationships. it hurts shay’s heart a little and vows to herself to be the best friend she can be.
delphine develops a little bit of an agoraphobia. she’s trans and bi and injured so doing clothes and makeup isn’t really high on her list so she’s afraid of someone noticing her and making her as trans. and there’s actual literal people out in the world who tried to and still want to kill her, delphine, for being delphine. she goes out for therapy and for quick errands, but mostly just stays inside.
shay is fine with that. so many cuddles. but at some point they share a kiss. it’s a fading laugh, leaning slowly in, eyes wide open kiss. and that kiss leads to a long talk. which leads to more kisses. which leads to them calling each other girlfriends. which leads to sex.
sex with cosima had been a little intimidating. she had an encyclopedic knowledge of sex acts and experience with most of them. it’s not that she didn’t try to make her feel comfortable and everything, it was just A Lot. so since a lot of sex with shay is relatively new to the both of them and there’s a lot more giggling and slipping and falling. several times shay forgets that she’s gotta stop her knee a couple inches lower than she’s used to and knees delphine in the balls. which delphine is adamant didn’t really hurt that much but her voice is so strained it gives her away.
they go on like this, but then shay gets word through work that cosima has been taken or has gone to neolution island. delphine is beside herself. she could die there, shay!! so shay makes sure she is returned safely to toronto. after a long hard talk, delphine decides that she would be okay with seeing her for a talk.
cosima takes it as well as you would assume anyone would. she thought delphine was dead but she’s been around the corner the whole time? and then she finds out that she’s been here, in a love den with shay [SHAY???] the entire time, while cosima was scared and alone and flirting with disease ridden bots. she says things she immediately regrets, delphine cries, and they both see the scary dangerous side of shay that they knew existed but had never experienced when she kicks her out.
since that was literally a nightmare that delphine had on a regular basis, she’s a lil messed up from that. she’s withdrawn and goes back to sleeping on the couch. there’s a guilt that she just can’t get rid of. ‘i should have called her.’ ‘i should have gone straight to her.’ ‘it was selfish to take care of myself.’ etc etc.
shay can’t get through to her so she contacts cosima and is all scary saying, “i don’t care if you’re lying, but you go and you apologize and say that it was a good thing for her to prioritize herself bc i’m afraid she’s gonna hurt herself and she’s not listening to me when i say it.”
that is Not what cosima wanted so she goes back and talks to delphine. they talk about p much everything while shay is in the room bc “i’m going to tell her everything anyway.” it’s emotional and awkward and so cathartic. they finally know the truth about what happened and they finally know how the other felt and why and how and everything they ever had questions about. as cosima is leaving, delphine asks if she can see her again.
and thus buds a friendship.
but it’s killing cosima. with her time alone she realized that there were really only two people she could see herself dating. and they’re dating each other. and they have a better and stronger relationship than she had ever had with either of them.
she accepts her fate. she knows she’s never gonna be more than their maid of honor. the best friend. auntie cosima. the wing man. she knows she’s probably never gonna date seriously again. she’s just going to have a string of hookups but nothing more. she knows this. she’s just. really depressed about it.
shay finds out. probably through a melodramatic encounter in the hallway as shay comes home from work and cosima leaves.
and then shay has this soft spot for cosima. and delphine for sure still loves cosima. and it’s just this little triangle of unresolved feelings.
i can’t decide who brings up polyamory. it’s never cosima bc she would never do it. but if delphine did suggest it, it would be bc she wants to make cosima happy. if shay did it it would be to make them both happy.
and then it would be just a delphine-centric polyamorous vee. and cosima is a little afraid of, very aware of shay. and shay is the one who suggests closing the relationship into a triad.

Switzerland
I chose Switzerland for my host country, because it is so beautiful and I feel like I could learn a lot from the countries people. First off to give you an idea of where the beautiful Switzerland is, it is located in Europe and is surrounded by 5 countries: Austria, Liechtenstein, France, Italy, and Germany. Since Switzerland is inland, this country does have many mountains and some are more known than others, but the country does offer more than just beautiful mountains, Switzerland has beautiful lakes and national parks as well.
First, I want to give you a little background information about Switzerland before you travel there. In 500 BC the Helvetians found land, which is Switzerland, and planted their roots here. In 150 BC the Swiss loved their wine and did not want to share it with others but later on the Romans came and brought more grapes to plant and it is said that the beautiful vineyard, Lavaux which is still used today, was used back then. In 1291 the Swiss had formed three cantons in order to over throw those ruling at the time. In 1522 the Protestant Reformation began in Switzerland, all because of a discussion about whether or not the Bible said you could eat sausage. In 1648 Switzerland gain its independence from the Roman Empire thanks to the Treaty of Westphalia. In 1699 the first recipe of Switzerland’s famous fondue was recorded, and now people fly all over the world to try some. In 1815 Switzerland was a neutral country again due to the Treaty of Paris. In 1848 Switzerland became a true federal state, and they even have their own constitution. In 1863 Henry Dunant stumbled across the battle of Solferino on his way to find Napoleon lll , and was struck by the sight of the wounded and he went to Geneva and started the International Red Cross. In 1875 Daniel Peter became the first chocolatier in Swiss history. Lastly in 1971 women were finally granted the right to vote. All of these dates are important because they are moments in history that have shaped Switzerland and what the country is today.
Some more information about Switzerland is the capital is Bern, and some important cities in Switzerland are: Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Lausanne, Winterthur, Luzem, St. Gallen, and Bienne. Here in America we are used to the main language being English, well in Switzerland it can be German, French, Italian, or Romansh. The language spoken nationally is German at 62.6%, then it is French at 22.9%, then 8.2% speak Italian, and Romansh is only spoke by .5% of the population. The main religion in Switzerland is 65.6% Christianity, the next 35.9% is Roman Catholic, 23.8% are Reformed, and 5.9% are miscellaneous religions. In Switzerland religion sometimes plays a part in politics when it comes to voting for parliament, the voters sometimes look at the candidates religion in order to decide if they get their vote. With that being said Switzerland is made up of a couple of political organizations. First, they are considered a direct democracy, and they have been one of the very few countries to achieve this system close to its full capacity. Switzerland also has a federal council which has twenty-six cantons, which are subdivisions of Switzerland; and each of those have their own parliament. These systems have been used since the 1800’s and some even further back than that and so far they have done well for the country. Another thing about the swiss is that they do not normally discuss finances or make it known if they are wealthy or poor, they like to keep their lives private. Speaking of finances, the most important piece of information that you need to know about Switzerland is that for their currency they use the franc; the euro can be used but only in certain places, and you can also use a credit or debit card for your purchases as well.
Other than the history of Switzerland, you should know about the social aspects of the country. Men and women in Switzerland are able to work for their families but it had not always been that way. The roles were that the men work, and the women stay home and take care of the kids and household duties, but those roles have gradually diminished and women in Switzerland are entering the workforce. Although gender roles have changed, the countries view on social class has not. The upper-middle class, the intermediary class, and the lower class is still used to categorize the people of Switzerland financially. The upper-middle class has the white-collar professionals, engineers, and teachers. The intermediary class includes farmers, business owners, and tradesmen. Finally, the lower class includes blue collar workers, and those in sales and service.
When going to another country it doesn’t just involve going and only knowing general information about that country, you also need to do some research on the heart of the country, which is its culture, that day to day of a swiss so to speak. Switzerland’s culture is unique to Switzerland but it is made up of many other cultures, including Germany’s, France’s, and Italy’s. For starters when you visit Switzerland the common curtesy is to say hello when just passing by. When meeting someone for the first time you say hello and stretch out your hand for a handshake. Now when the swiss greet each other and they are friends they will air kiss three times on the cheek, first the right cheek, then the left, and then the right again. This is the normal way to greet a friend in Switzerland, the women and men do it, women to women do it, and man to man either hug or shake hands. Also, you will learn that when someone bumps into you it is not always on purpose but merely because it is a crowded place; so all you do is say its okay, or if you did the bumping say excuse me or sorry. Since I just mentioned the bumping, you will also learn that they live by the philosophy that every man is for himself and it is first come first serve, they do not believe in lining up so when you see that it is your turn to order food you better speak up or you will be there all day. The swiss do eat at normal times, in the morning during the week breakfast starts between 6:30 and 7:30 am and on the weekends it is at 9 am. During the week they will have a snack around 9 am, which is usually a croissant or fruit. If you eat before 2pm it is considered lunch and the meal selection is usually warm foods. After 6 pm it is considered dinner and during dinner they normally eat cold foods and during the summer they will eat out on the patio but in the winter they stay inside. From 3-5pm this time is considered the “at four” meal; which is just a small meal eaten around that time. Also between 12 pm and 1 pm they designate this time for rest and relaxing, and this is something that is taken very seriously as some wont even answer their phones during that hour. The countries national dish is fondue. Their dominant food is cheese, they are very known for their chocolate as well.
For entertainment, unlike Americans, the Swiss are not very invested in television. They are however very invested in their newspapers, the largest circulating one is the Tages-Anzeiger which is produced out of Zurich. Now with this being said Switzerland does have tv stations but only a few stations are available and are mainly in German.
Some things to think about before traveling is one the language barrier. This is definitely going to be hard if you do not know German or you do not have translator, because there are very few people that speak English in Switzerland. So, try to be prepared a learn a little before your trip. In order for you to blend in is one don’t talk very loud, try to speak at a normal volume. Second, try to get something with the swiss flag on it, it is a very popular item to wear. Also, when passing people always smile and try to greet everyone, especially on Sundays. Personal space is not an issue with the swiss, they are familiar with bumping and touching. When it comes to trying to make a swiss friends they are not very open to fast friendships. For them it takes a bit longer than normal, so don’t go up to a swiss and assume you two will be best friends and start telling them about your life because they do not like that. Another thing is to always be on time, respect the country and the residents, and be prepared for any type of weather. If you take note and remember these things you will have a trip of a lifetime.
