Stop being adultist to bigots. If a bigot is a minor then the problem is a bigot, not that they are a minor. Stop erasing minors who are also marginalized in the relevant ways and who are not bigots. can we stop conflating “sex offenders” with “rapists/sexual assaulters/sexual abusers” already please. in many places there are many victimless sexual behaviors that are illegal, and the SOR does genuinely cause problems to registrants and encourage vigilantism. that is not the fucking same as survivors and insurgents using violence against a rapist they are in social proximity to, whose violence personally impacts them, for defense/safety/while challenging their power. most rapists will never make it to the SOR and that is not a coincidence and can we stop conflating already because the dynamics are completely different and I understand where one might be coming from but it’s still a damaging and destructive mindset that harms the marginalized.

i have a several months old draft about the problems with the current wave of “anti-vigilantism” being expanded to defang survivor militancy and enforce pacifism, I unfortunately do not yet have the spoons to properly write it out but I feel like it would be helpful. like, tons of people including/especially people within my own community still hold furious grudges against me because of 2021 things and taking punitive social measures against me for supposed excesses of “vigilantism”/“extreme” action and piling on harassment which has deeply harmed my and my friend’s mental health and our place in social spaces. while I still strongly held views similar to those expressed in that post which crossed my dash just now. very hurtful.
