Yes, though at the time they called themselves the "Slither Kin." A vicious clan, not that that's changed, exactly. They were nomads, capable fighters, but their specialty was betrayal. The worst book u have ever read?

honestly, probably the first book of the Maximum Ride series 🫣

#I feel bad because I know so many people love it #hell I only read it because my best friend at the time loved it so much and even kinned Max #but GOD was it not for me #I can’t think of a better example but in recent years my lowest rated book on Goodreads is Honey Girl #as a book it’s fine #and it even has a cult following #but like… it was not what I was expecting and it was unexpectedly triggering and quite frankly boring #I bought it as it came out and went into it thinking it was a lesbian romance book about two women who got drunk and got married in Vegas #and that was kind of the plot but not really #it was the catalyst for the story sure #but like. it was mostly about this woman’s breakdown after getting her PhD and what the hell she was gonna do with her life #and at the time there were no warnings about her self harming!! and it happened quite often!! #like I’m fine with that but not when I went into the book thinking romcom and out of it so burnt out from the story
