Hello, would it be okay if I got a Tokyo Revengers match? (Like the one where you match people with a bf or gf?)
About me: I am a bisexual non binary person and use they/them pronouns, so whoever works, I have no preferences.
As a rough idea of what I look like physically, I'm around the 1,75m mark somewhere and have dark middle length hair with an undercut. I try to look and dress as androgynous as possible, and I have a lot of tattoos and piercings.
Personality-wise if it helps I am INFJ and a Pisces (Aquarius Moon and Virgo rising, if we want to go hyper specific.) I am a fairly quiet person. I don't really speak unless spoken to, I typically don't have much to share. If I don't have anything of value to add to a conversation I just stay silent, and I've been told a lot of people find that off-putting, which makes me a little sad haha. But I really just prefer to listen unless it's a topic I'm passionate about.
I know I don't handle stress very well, and when I get overwhelmed I have episodes of nonverbality where I physically cannot speak. They pass fairly quickly but they do happen, and they're incredibly embarassing for me.
I also have a hard time surpressing strong extroverted emotions, mainly joy and anger. When I'm happy, you will know.
I like charismatic people, but when someone constantly becomes the center of attention I try not to be too close to them, because that would automatically shift attention to me as well, and I don't fuck with that.
I honestly don't mind people that are a little fucked up. Because honestly that's all good, I'm a little messed up too. Everyone has their flaws and their issues. It's human. It's all good. In fact I think I probably prefer someone who isn't "perfect" because being flawless is just unrelatable tbh.
I'm definitely a person that loves attention from my partner. I want to spend time with the people I'm close with. I don't need fancy dates or expensive gifts, I just need my person to be around. Maybe cuddle. I love physical affection, and I especially love to play with people's hair. So a partner having long-ish hair would definitely be a plus, but not a neccessity. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what skin, eye or hair colour a partner has. I don't care if they're tall or how they're built or what gender they are. I care that they're loyal, I care that they care. I care that they like to spend time with me. And hey if they have some trouble to deal with it's all good, we can carry our burdens together. I mean in the TR universe, who didn't have a fucked up past ykwim?
I enjoy taking care of people and would especially enjoy it if that person was my partner, but unfortunately, I occasionally need the favour to be returned. I suffer from moderately severe scoliosis, which sometimes causes a lot of pain in my back, neck, head, hips and shoulders. Sometimes, it's so bad that all I can do is lay in bed and cry, which definitely makes me an unattractive partner and I'm aware of that. So, I'd need someone who is okay with occasionally just laying down with me, or maybe draw me a bath.
Again, what I value above everything is loyalty and care. And I'm willing to provide a lot of it as well.
Aside from super center of attention people, really the only other "ick" I have is people who make jokes at the expense of others. I don't really fuck with that either. Other than that I'm fairly open to any kind of personality type.
My hobbies are mostly writing stories, watching shows or playing instruments. (I learned both piano and harp when I was younger. I don't have a piano anymore but I still have my harp)
I hope this is sufficient? I'm sorry if its not.
Anyway, I hope you have a lovely day and please take good care of yourself. Thank you for all the time you invest in our requests and matchups :)
Hello. Thank you for the kindness. You put in everything I need to do this matchup. I hope you like it!

youve convinced me. drop Star Trek recs what do i watch (ive been told to avoid the movies? are they bad lol)
Ok I've not seen all of trek, I've mainly seen ds9, tos and tng so I'm only gonna talk about those.
I think ds9 (deep space 9) is like. The most Genuinely Good show out of all the ones I've seen. I'd just start from the beginning and watch it all but if you aren't ready to commit to 7 seasons of queer antics with a seasoning of war time baseball (unrelatable but ok?) The best episode of ds9 and probably the best episode in all of trek is the one directed by Avery Brooks (the actor of Sisko) "far beyond the stars" (my icon is Fanart of that episode specifically) you can totally watch it as a stand alone💕 heavy Triggerwarning for racism, police murder and brutality, and institutionalization. To be clear the episode isn't racist, it depicts racism, specifically anti black racism. Maybe more light-hearted fun is "bar association" where quarks employees unionize. I think a few people have said ds9 only starts to be good in like season 3? I don't think that's true it's very good from the start and i do recommend watching it from the start.
Tumblr media
The movies are a good time if you wanna put something on with friends and get drunk tbh! Wrath of Khan is also the only Moby Dick adaptation I've ever seen and it's such a classic. Like it sucks but it's also very good. And the whale movie (journey home) is genuinely a banger of a movie!
Tumblr media
In general TOS (the original series) I wouldn't really recommend unless you're already kind of sold on star trek. It's beautiful, it's strange, it's homosexual, it's DEEPLY sexist. But there are some very fun episodes and it's the ideal show to put on while painting your nails. It kind of starts being a strong show in the second season, Amok Time ofc being a classic (but an odd episode to start with) The Changeling I think is a good episode that shows what tos is like from it's best side and fairly representative, and mirror mirror is the way better than average episode where the mirror verse is introduced which is very cool. I also like doomsday machine and the devil in the dark! Devil in the dark is one of the last episodes of the first season so maybe a good place to start from? Tho you wouldn't wanna miss The Naked Time!!! Tos is a banger of a show it's just very 60s.
Tumblr media
TNG (the next generation) is kind of hit or miss and starts off slow but it has like the best horror episodes out of all of star trek I'd say. Absolutely will HAUNT you, scarier than most actual horror shows. Schisms is... An episode of a Nice Family Show FOR SURE :))))) Frame of mind also fucked me up.. idk man just. TNG. Geordi and Data are so lovely and then Fucked Up Shit happens.. For sure.
Tumblr media
Both TNG and TOS are very "it's trekking time", ds9 being a space station treks very little. It's less of a star trek than a star kinky war time sex. Hope this helpss have funnn!!!

@amphyn
fully, fully willing to be the internet's reader insert clippy in this regard if it means it's stop fuckin happening, please
@crytalstellar
there's like, a SPECIFIC way that third-person fics can work, and that's when there's a character thinking about 'you' but tbh it's damn tricky to do and i haven't seen it done very often, let alone done effectively. but first person? never. never ever.
@wasserplane
OKAY SO the thing about writing advice for reader insert stories is that the vast majority of advice falls under general writing advice. if you are a good writer, you will probably write decent-to-good reader inserts. if you are not a good writer (yet! we all start somewhere), then reader insert tips will help you write more accurate reader insert stories, but not necessarily good ones. but! that's obvious. actual tips would be.... hmm...........
this is not an exhaustive list and it's very rambly so i'm gonna put this under a cut, but --
don't feel like you have to make your reader insert character a total blank slate. it Can Be Done, but it is tricky, and personally i find it less fun! i'm sure some people prefer blank slate protagonists/reader inserts, but i think reader insert stories are best when there are (at least) some establishing details abt what 'you' DO and who 'you' ARE.
now, don't make things hyper-specific! don't talk about the color of your hair or eyes or even abt the style of your clothes, unless that serves a purpose (another character provided 'you' with a change of clothes, you're in disguise or in uniform, etc). but -- give 'you' a job! or mention the possibility of one! some friends, even if obliquely! it's great for character-building! scene-setting! plot devices! why not! you can do it in a way that's vague enough to be relatable to a bunch of people, and also not be so specific that it's offputtingly unrelatable to the rest of your readers! just maybe don't insist that 'you' work as the world's premier parakeet trainer instead of, like, working in the zoo gift shop or at a mall kiosk. or, as i most often find myself writing, at some unspecified-but-probablly-minimum-wage-job since swapping shifts was mentioned at one point.
also, remember that not everyone looks like you/a certain way! kind of obvious, right? and a lot of this is very easy to avoid. but you'd be surprised -- i've seen people write a description that mentions 'your pale skin' like 3 or 4 times in fics????? not that much, i guess, but still odd to realize the specific way an author is visualizing 'you.' and that's just in fics that i, personally, have stumbled across and read. all you gotta do to avoid that one is...... not do that. not assume all your readers have light skin. easy-peasy. (and this is kind of a dumb example, but similarly, while everyone can blush, not everyone blushes so visibly with their skin tone. 'you redden/your cheeks turn pink' may not be the most relatable way of conveying embarrassment or being flustered -- tho it's also not 100% definitely gonna be alienating -- but, like. even so. 'your face warms' and other such phrasings are options.)
other things are a touch less obvious, but still not all that hard to do, you just have to consider what may or may not be relatable to people. if a character "runs a hand through your hair" then 'you' must have hair long enough to run a hand through... and that you are willing to let someone touch like that. if 'you' duck to get through a doorway, 'you' must be pretty tall (or the doorway is particularly shirt!) and if 'you' have to climb onto something to reach an object, 'you' must be short enough to justify it.
there was a comment on a fic of mine once in regards to a scene where 'you' sat on someone's lap, and it was something like 'aw, i wish i could do that, but i'm fat, so i'd probably crush him, lol.' and that's stuck with me!! i failed that reader of mine by relying on skinny bitch privilege and that made my writing less effective and less fun for someone! jolting someone out of a scene they would otherwise enjoy is not something i wanted to do!!!
ever since that, i've really tried to consider the physicality of the actions i write -- to make sure that whatever 'you' do, it's written in such a way that it's believable for all my readers, whatever their height or weight or build might be. and you'd better fuckin believe that the next time i had 'you' sit on that character's lap, i tried to make it happen in a way that that original commenter would've been able to see themselves in.
and, like, listen. implying/maybe even outright stating that the reader insert character has hair that someone can run a hand through, or is kinda short or whatever, is not inherently bad.
you are not going to be able to create a reader insert that 100% of readers relate to 100% of the time -- at least, not for longer stories. it's easier for drabbles, lmao. but for longer stories or for a series, there will almost certainly be something that doesn't grok with someone, whether that's 'i wouldn't do that' or 'i wouldn't say that' or 'i wouldn't react like that' or any number of other points that are dissonant to someone reading. and aiming to be 100% relatable, 100% of the time is not only futile, it also tends to result in.... characters who are so firmly middle-of-the-road and blank that the stories are no fun to read.
but. as with anything else, people are willing to suspend their disbelief. give them enough things that they can relate to that if/when you slip up, they're willing to keep going anyway.
on that note, returning to the not-a-blank-slate idea, you can -- and i think you should -- give 'you' some personality!
i struggle to describe how i view this, but like......... you can justify most types of personalities. you can make it make sense. you can make it feel natural. you write the story, and if you want the reader insert character to be anxious, add moments in the story where that makes sense, where people nod along and say 'oh, yeah, for sure, i would react anxiously too if that happened.' bam! however you want the reader insert character to act, just keep weaving in justifications, scenarios that would draw out the desired behavior from a lot of people.
also maybe this is a cheat, but heaping on more personality in the narration than in the dialogue is a possibility! people are often more open in their thoughts and impulses than in the things they say! so then you can write weird shit and have people still relate!
"Oh, I'd love to chat, but I..." You readjust your bag and shuffle back a half-step, using the motion to buy yourself time to think of another excuse. "I really can't stay, sorry; my coworker needs me to cover her shift." It's not a lie, exactly. More like... two unrelated pieces of information. You really do have to go -- if you spend one more minute being ogled by some chucklefuck with no concept of personal space, you are really, truly, going to burst. And your phone has been pinging all day with frantic requests to please, please, please cover this shift, just this once, she thought she'd requested it off ages ago, honest, and the tickets were so expensive and they're nonrefundable, and you're the only one not already on the schedule, so please? He doesn't need to know that the shift isn't until Saturday.
not the best example, but you get the idea.
above all, all else, make it fun. seriously!
i got... a lot of comments about the reader insert character in my saeran fic. positive ones! really positive ones! some could relate to the reader insert, but others just liked them. thought of the reader insert as a well-developed character. does that mean i failed at writing a good reader insert? .........................well, maybe? or... maybe not? people had fun reading it and i had fun writing it, in the end. and a lot of people mentioned that the reader insert character did a lot of things they wished they could do RE: the plot or a character, so it still scratched that itch of wish fulfillment that reader inserts are designed to do, lmao. so maybe it didn't end up being The World's Most Relatable Reader Insert. but would it have been as fun for everyone if it was?
.........yknow what, maybe a lot of this is not actually the most helpful for writing reader inserts, actually. uh, if you want advice on fitting a reader insert into the world they're dropped in/among the characters they're now interacting with, or. like. any other coherent, salient writing advice, lemme know and i'll babble abt that another time but i've been rambling for an hour and i still have homework i need to do, oh my god

The Inheritance Games Book 1 Review
Update 08/26/22: I fucking lied. No I didn't finish the book, I only got 56 percent through TBH 😭😭😭 It's just when I wrote this review, I thought I'd have finished it and edited it with a better understanding of the story by the time I uploaded this post. But I never finished it, I couldn't bring myself too. Point still stands that it's not the worst book I've read. It's not a bad book. Just couldn't convince myself to keep reading/I did try to keep reading but at the pace of like a couple pages a week 😔 I think I couldn't finish the story cuz it feels TOO high school/wattpad in a way that makes it feel unrelatable to me??? In my full review below, you'll see more of what I meant. Maybe if I feel bored, I'll try to finish the book, but I got other books on my Kindle I think I'll prioritize first.
Tumblr media
The vibes are like a mishmash of The Westing Game, Knives Out, Umbrella Academy, and a wattpad story, more specifically a bts/kpop fanfiction or "I got sold to 1D" wattpad story BUT IN A GOOD WAY I SWEAR. Like make the grammar worse and add more spelling errors, and I deadass could imagine this front page of wattpad. It's because, let's be real, this story ain't literature and that's perfectly fine. We're here to watch this girl become a Crazy Rich not Asian be surrounded by four cute equally not Asian and unequally Rich boys.
I thank the advent of booktok and the resurgence of YA/NA literature because I have so many books to read now and I'm out of my reading stump, but I wish this book (amongst others) was written a few years prior. Because, I'm not getting any younger. I'm 22, which to some is a baby age, and to others, is ancient *shudders* so unfortunately YA main characters are now outside of the age range that I find to be attractive. Luckily, I like to read stories as if I'm the main character (a consequence from my obsession with otome games and interactive fiction) so I just imagine myself in her shoes if I was the same age. But since ya know REALITY is older, I found myself attracted to NASH of all people in this book lmaooo. I'm an unfortunate sucker for bad boys, and he was the only age appropriate boy to lock onto lmaooo.
If I read this book at 18, I would've ate Grayson and Jameson UPPPP. Jameson weirdly and vaguely reminds me of Albert Moriarty specifically from the Moriarty anime and is crossed with Benedict from Bridgerton. IDK I think it's the more cheeky/sly vibes while still being kinda emo. Grayson's personality is typically more my type and yet I found him to be kind of a shit IM SORRY. I think it's cuz the story suffers a tad bit by the wattpad-esque vibes in that the characters need to drive the point home that "this is my character and my personality!!!" Xander's personality was very Honey-senpai/BOY vibes so I'm not even gonna comment on him, in my eyes he's a child and nothing else.
Now the female lead. Avery, Avery, Avery. The girl who is constantly getting her name said wrong. I have a friend in real life named Avery, but her personality is so different from this story's Avery that I can't imagine them being remotely the same. Avery here is ... she's Y/N and I think anybody reading this story can see what I mean, in the nicest possible way. She was THIS CLOSE 🤏 to me calling her a pick-me. THIS CLOSE MMKAY 🤏 but she never quite reached that point so I can forgive her. Avery is on THIN ICE for me liking her. I give her a lot of benefit of the doubt cuz she's 17 and she's proven over and over in this book's universe that she's a bonafide GENIUS. But I live in reality, and to me, she's just a smart cookie, genius being a stretch. I just have a personal pet peeve with geniuses in media, specifically that I've yet to read/watch a character I've felt was truly a "genius" by real world standards. And yes, this applies to even my precious baby Spencer Reid. And yes, this applies to Benny Cumberbund's Sherlock Holmes. I solved every episode before him except for the Hound of the Baskervilles episode cuz of the whole psychedelic trip thingy going on + the later end episodes where there's no case just *plot*.
Now if you couldn't tell I'm a sucker for escape rooms, murder mysteries, puzzles, riddles, etc. but surprisingly I don't read too much of the mystery genre. But what frustrated me a tad bit about this book is that the mystery is contrived. There's a mystery cuz the dead man orchestrated it all and laid out clues. I feel like I would've enjoyed a more organic mystery, like a case (Sherlock Holmes, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, etc). The story is in first person, so you can only rely on what Avery finds out herself and from other people, and I guess I'm just a mystery fiend who wishes to solve everything herself. It's not the book's fault but just a personal nitpick, that I have to wait for Avery to figure something out for the *plot* to progress.
Idk, overall not a terrible book. I don't love it, but it's decent and I'll probably read the 2nd and 3rd books as well. Is it crazy amazing and a page turner? No. But did I stop reading it? Also no. And there are books I've quit right away (These Violent Delights. A Fate of Wraith and Flame <- SO BAD) so this book automatically beats those!

Please. We need MC with Tourette's and the brothers/undateables all reacting. Bonus if it's Chaotic!MC.
(For context I told the person asking this to send me this prompt bc I have tourette’s but feel weird abt writing shit on here without being prompted, this isn’t just some random person coming into my askbox like LETS JOKE ABOUT DISABLED PEOPLE i genuinely have TS and told them to do it please don’t flame silver here because he lovely and deserves only good things)
HELL. YES. Get ready for chaos. And I’ll be very careful not to hit the stereotypes, but I am one of the 10% who exhibits coprolalia (the much-lauded swearing symptom of Tourette's, literally meaning “Poop-speak” in Greek) so expect some of that. It should also be noted that I, personally, am completely fine with jokes about tics or laughing when they make for good situational humor, but mocking someone for having tics is a BIG no-no. This does not represent the TS community as a whole and you should always ask the person what level of joking they’re okay with.
I didn’t do all the undateables but this is ridiculous and self-indulgent anyway so no one cares.
Lucifer:
The first time he heard MC tic, it was when he was coming into the HOL after MC had been brought there by Mammon. He heard this puny human shout “SON OF A DONKEY WHORE” at the top of their lungs and automatically assumed they were in the process of being eaten by Beel or something of that nature, so he power walked (though he will deny it later) to their room only to find them casually re-arranging pillows and giving themself an occasional smack to the chest or making a strange yipping sound, perfectly safe.
Once MC explained it to him he simply sighed and came to the conclusion that this is going to be a long, long year.
He does get headaches sometimes, so he’s snapped at MC to keep it down once or twice and gotten chewed out as a result. It really isn’t something you can help, and MC makes that very clear.
Lucifer learned not to say anything of that nature, because somehow MC’s wrath is even worse than Satan’s.
He occasionally finds it hard to tell if MC is having a tic or causing problems intentionally. He wonders if they’re doing that on purpose. He is correct. He wonders if he can stop them. He is incorrect.
After he gets more comfortable with MC and learns the boundaries he will make jokes related to their tics.
“My hovercraft is full of eels!” “Perhaps you should invest in eel-catching equipment.”
If they’re having a bad day where they can’t stop hitting themself or might injure themself because of some of the more unpleasant tics, he will ask them if they need help with something, like a cushion.
Actually cracks up at some of the funnier tics. One time MC got him to spit coffee all over Diavolo with a perfectly timed tic. It was glorious.
Will facepalm if they say/do something particularly inappropriate.
Mammon:
First time he heard (or rather, saw) MC tic it was when he was unlocking the door to the HOL for them for the first time and they made a loud whooping noise and clapped very loudly.
Naturally this startled the shit out of him cause he’s a pissbaby lol. MC didn’t say anything about it cause they were too busy expecting to be murdered by this powerful demon lord who has been just this side of hostile to them ever since meeting them. They didn’t know he’s a pissbaby yet.
After a little while they mentioned “Oh hey i’ve got tourette’s” and here’s how THAT went.
MC: Yeah, I have Tourette’s Syndrome so if I start saying or doing weird stuff-
Mammon: WAIT. Isn’t that the swearing disease. (sighhh)
MC: *deep sigh* only 10% of us have coprolalia-
Mammon, barely remembering ancient Greek: WAIT SO YOU SHIT YOUR PANTS-
Satan tries correcting him but MC cuts him off like “no no, i want him to keep thinking that it’s funny as fuck”
Mc then proceeds to torment Mammon by threatening to shit on his belongings. Keeps him from stealing their wallet.
Literally takes him until he makes a pact with them to get the proper explanation (and to get roasted for making that assumption in the first place)
100% jokes with MC about their tics.
Still gets startled by the more sudden/loud ones and has jumped into Beel’s arms bc of this.
Levi:
First time they did a tic in front of him was when they were trying to figure out how to find Goldie.
“Maybe we should look in the- *starts smacking chest repeatedly* GARGOYLES GARGOYLES ughhh hang on this is gonna take a few minutes to stop GARGOYLES GARGOYLES”
Levi: *white guy blinking gif*
They do not look in the gargoyles.
MC explains it to him and he’s just like “OH I’VE SEEN MOVIES WITH THAT”
MC stares off into the distance like a character from The Office
He ends up being responsible for them having MULTIPLE tics where they imitate anime attack calls or gestures, peppered with occasional magical girl transformation lines.
They say rurin in a cutesy little voice every 5 minutes for a whole week and everyone’s glaring at Levi the whole time.
Thinks some of their tics are REALLY CUTE AND ANIME and is not shy about saying this.
MC: ugh, you know this is a GENUINE DISABILITY, right?
Levi: omg i’m sorry
MC: lol i’m just fucking with you- RURIN~!
Satan:
He noticed MC being a bit twitchy from the moment they arrived, but simply assumed they were nervous and a bit flinchy because of that. Of course, they totally were nervous but also their brain was just like “time to clench all of your muscles at once instead of paying attention to this very important conversation”.
After that he just notices more and more, and honestly he probably reads a lot so it’s likely he already knows about Tourette’s or similar tic disorders, it’s entirely possible that he asks them about it or mentions it casually in conversation.
Is honestly fascinated by their tics and what can trigger them, when they’re more or less frequent, things that cause them to get better or worse, etc etc. MC may have to actually tell him to stop treating them like a case study.
Or, even better, they may just intentionally fuck up his observations.
Knows a thing or two about how it feels to not be able to control yourself when upset. Whenever MC gets a tic attack he’s ready. He looked this up.
Tries not to crack up when they say or do objectively funny shit but sometimes a tic is times just PERFECTLY and he can’t help but snort.
Asmo:
The first time he heard them tic it was a mild disaster.
“Kissy poo~”
“OH YOU WANT ME TO KISS YOU?”
“nonono wait-”
Thinks some of the tics are cute and will absolutely let MC know. Even if they tell him to fuck off lol.
He sees a nasty bruise from one of MC’s more unpleasant tics (eg: chest smacking, slamming their head/arm into something on accident from a flailing tic) and doesn’t just have a cow, he has the entire damn pasture. MC simply CANNOT have such marks on their gorgeous skin! Don’t worry, he’s got creams and makeup for that :^)
Is a little too enthusiastic about offering to help MC relax if they’re having a bad tic day. He suggests massages. Massages are always good.
He’s happy to provide the massages.
Please MC let him give you a massage.
Beel:
First time he saw them tic it was during breakfast and they whistled very loudly right next to him.
His poor ears :( how could you hurt him in this way MC
Once they explained it he was like “Oh. Okay.” and moved on with his life.
He gets the whole “having urges to do shit you shouldn’t do” aka eating something he shouldn’t. He does his best to distract MC if they’re having bad tics.
mc: oh sorry i just need to touch something haha tourette’s is wild right *full on grabs beel’s chest* beel: :?
MC can ask him to restrain them if they’re having a really bad time with stuff and he’s more than strong enough to help lol. UNLIKE MY MOTHER SORRY MOM
Always apologizes if he accidentally triggers a tic.
MC starts climbing on him. Tourette’s compels them. He allows it. Jungly gym beel?
No lie I have a tic that’s just me saying “I eat worms!” in a cutesy voice and- IMAGINE
Belphie:
First time he saw them tic it was while he was still in the attic, they started jerking their head around during a late night visit and he was like what the fuck are you doing-
Thought it was incredibly annoying at first. I don’t blame him honestly. Tourette’s more like Annoying Asshole syndrome am i right (haha that internalized ableism)
Subtly triggered their tics intentionally cause haha stupid human
Once he got out of the attic and made friends with MC properly he was just kind of like “oh that was pretty shit of me wasn’t it”
Honestly doesn’t know how to help so he just ignores it lol.
The one time he tries to help them when they’re having a bad tic day he makes them take a nap with him because clearly if they’re asleep they can’t tic, right?
Surprise! They still can. Enjoy the knee to the stomach, B.
Encourages them to use their powers for evil. Like telling them to spill something on Lucifer and claim it was because of their Tourette’s.
Note: don’t do that, mc only obliges bc this is chaotic mc. TS not a toy etc etc
Barbatos:
Read that MC had tourette’s on their file, but honestly didn’t know what it was. Probably just assumed it was a heart condition or something, so when MC comes over for the retreat him and Dia are not expecting the tics.
The first time they tic in front of him it was at the retreat. He had just served them tea and tourette’s said yeeting time and they chucked the teacup. It hit him in the forehead. Tea all over his face. His hair. His suit. The wall. The floor. Maybe some on Diavolo too. He’s both impressed by their aim and wanting to fucking die.
Mammon is howling with laughter.
MC explains it to him while he’s still dripping with tea and he just smiles in a very strained manner and goes to get changed and wash his hair.
At the retreat when MC and Solomon make human food, he quickly learns that MC should not be around sharp Devildom knives. Or a stove. Or anything dangerous.
Gets weirdly protective over them, especially if they DO end up handling potentially dangerous stuff.
Keeps trying to find better ways to serve them drinks so they don’t break all the fine china, like plastic cups with lids. Stuff still gets spilled everywhere so he tries to get them a travel mug. The handle snaps and the lid leaks. Eventually gets them a sippy cup for toddlers, which works wonders. MC thinks it’s hysterical and makes him put a label on it with their name.
He seriously considers investing in Gyro Bowls as well.
After MC accidentally turned a platter with a soup bowl on it into an impromptu catapult with a poorly aimed table smack, he does just that.
One time they mention having a very strong urge to put their hand over a burning candle and he makes sure no candle is ever near them in the palace.
honestly i have too many ideas for barbatos so he’s getting a whole ass fic.
Diavolo:
The teacup incident was also the first time HE learned the true nature of Tourette’s syndrome. Once the whole deal was explained (and he knew mc wasn’t maliciously throwing things at Barbatos) he thought it was the funniest shit.
Bless his heart honestly.
Tries to not laugh at first bc he thinks it’s probably disrespectful. Meanwhile MC is cackling like a mad scientist bc they dabbed for the 343643th time today and Lucifer looks like he’s about to blow a gasket as a result.
Lowkey I can kind of see him as being one of those “Oh my goodness you are so BRAVE for going through this” meanwhile mc stares off into space like they’re on the office
Is astounded at all the unique challenges humans have to go through meanwhile MC is yeeting cups at barbatos

have you seen Turning Red? id love to hear your opinions on it if so, especially because it is purely about Teenage Girls
if you do watch turning red im curious on your opinion as to whether the girls in it are gay bc on the one hand they're very boy-obsessed but on the other hand they do have the type of very intense middle school girl friendship that i associate with baby dykes lol
i watched it last night with my brother, and it was so cute!!! i love how much thought and care and sincerity and authenticity was clearly put into this movie. normally i find pixar movies cloying and shallow, but i really appreciated the story being told here, with so much love and specificity. the person who told me to watch this movie bc sandra oh voices a repressed milf was 100% right ming was by far my favorite character lmao
and okay im not gonna lie, the immigrant identity / generational trauma aspect of it actually compelled me way more than the teenage girl aspect of it (although both aspects were really well handled and obviously intersected heavily in terms of mei's character arc).
i know a lot of people felt seen by its portrayal of middle school girlhood, and while i'm not denying that i knew plenty of girls who were very much like that, i.... wasn't. i'd say priya was probably the most relatable, but even then the fact that she read stuff like twilight instead of shakespeare made her fundamentally unrelatable to me, because i spent most of my teenage girl years feeling alienated and condescended towards by the constant marketing of boybands and romcoms and other heterosexual love fantasies that i was constantly being told i, as a young teenage girl, was "supposed" to enjoy. and this isn't to say that there's anything wrong with teenage girls who like those things, or who act in "cringey" ways (i mean you know i fully support them and their messy feelings and cringe interests), but i didn't like "boys, or loud music, or gyrating" (sidenote: i think it's really funny that mei is like "i like BOYS!" like being a heterosexual girl is some brave act of defiance. i know that embracing her sexuality in front of her repressed mother is really important, but that still made me laugh a little. it's not like she was like "guess what???!!! i'm into autoerotic asphyxiation, MOM!!!!"). i probably would've gone absolutely wild at the chance to hug a giant red panda though. i loved red pandas as a kid they were one of my favorite animals. and that fur was animated so impressively.... it looked so soft and fluffy......
anyway, i don't know whether or not (all) the girls are gay. i mean, priya and that goth girl definitely seemed like they had something going on, and the way ming talks about miriam feels very pointed (especially bc you know a chinese mother would only disapprove of a jewish kid if said kid was gay lmfao), but abby and mei could go either way idk. i wouldn't be surprised if they all grew up to be bi tbh they have those vibes. but again, other than that one moment with priya and the subtext w miriam, i rly think it could go either way. again, i'm a bad judge, because as a kid i felt a vitriolic resentment towards boybands and the popular girls in my class who listened to them and made me feel like a freak when i expressed the (totally reasonable!) opinion that "these dudes are all ugly as fuck." so i can say with certainty that at the very least, those girls are not baby lesbians.
one last thing. i don't think you meant any harm by this, anon, but to claim that this movie is "purely about teenage girls" is just wrong. so much of this movie is about generations of women, chinese heritage, familial ties and generational trauma, what it means to be an immigrant, (internalized) xenophobia, cultural expectations and the model minority myth.... there's so much more there than simply teenage girl friendships and navigating puberty (not that those are bad themes to explore either, mind you!). mei's friends are deeply important to her, and their friendship was really sweet, but to me, they were still the least interesting part of the movie. that said that 4town song was genuinely catchy wtf

red (taylor's version) (from the vault) (that which has too many parentheses):
- nothing new is good and i think phoebe bridgers works really well on it. it's a song in a similar vein to the lucky one, about feeling like your time in the spotlight is fleeting, and just like that song i think it gains a lot from being performed by 30-year-old taylor. totally get why she decided to dig it up
- i used to hear babe on the radio at work a lot and every time i'd be like "wow, that's a total taylor swift knockoff" and then remember that it literally is a taylor swift song - just, y'know, one she didn't think was good enough to sing herself. it feels "from the vaults" in the sense that it wasn't good enough to make the cut but she still thought she could make a buck off it
- i bet you think about me is good as a song, eviscerating this rich guy living in an artificial world, but taylor framing herself as down-to-earth rubs me the wrong way. like yeah she grew up on a farm and not in hollywood but she wasn't exactly poor, either. knowing that, it just feels like her priding herself on being a different kind of rich person than the guy she dated and that leaves a weird aftertaste on an otherwise good song
- 10 minute all too well...hoo boy. where to start
- it's clear that this was not ever meant to be an actual song. this is taylor's draft and it shows. a good pop song balances the specific and universal very carefully, adds enough details to feel real but not so many that the situation becomes unrelatable. 10 minute all too well is full of overly specific details, and a lot of its appeal is in getting to be a fly on the wall
- it doesn't feel like a total rough draft, though. the song was always on the more specific side of the specific-universal spectrum and plenty of the lyrics are certainly good enough to be in an official song, even if they needed to be cut to make the song shorter and more cohesive. a real kill-your-darlings-but-also-save-them moment
- i figured she put it at the end because it's the longest and super hyped up but it also works as an effective closer because the extended lyrics call back to other songs. "twin flames" like the "twin fire signs" from state of grace, "did it make you blue" like red, a whole section referencing the same crying-in-the-bathroom-at-her-21st-birthday incident depicted on the moment i knew. the moment i knew is underrated tbh
- i really like the detail about his "fuck the patriarchy" keychain falling off when he throws the keys to her. like any veneer of him being a feminist falls away when he chooses to date a much younger woman. apparently she's actually selling "fuck the patriarchy" keychains as merch and while most of me cringes at the idea of buying feminist merch from taylor swift there's a part of me that's like. fuck that's brilliant i want one
- i really like "and there we are again when nobody had to know / you kept me like a secret, but i kept you like an oath" bc on other songs he's portrayed as shallow and pretentious ("indie record that's much cooler than mine") but it's all mocking at his expense. this is the real problem, that his image is so important to him that he's treating their relationship like an embarrassing secret while she's trying to be a devoted partner
- i also like "the idea you had of me, who was she? / a never-needy, ever-lovely jewel whose shine reflects on you", bc it really captures how people treat younger women in relationships with older men. the shiny new toy, prize on his arm, basically just another possession
- the amount of times she calls him out for dating a woman so much younger than him is so satisfying
- overall. an Experience to be sure

Different gay people also have very different relationships to gayness. I am a butch lesbian who is into women who are more femme and know l am hot so any sentiment that is along the lines of ' I wish I looked like her or do I want to fuck her??' is very unrelatable. Not saying you imposed your view on anyone but I have seen young gays and closeted ppl etc worry they're not gay enough if they don't identify with every gay reading. So this is more a note on queer readings overall
VERY TRUE. There is no one right gay reading and you do NOT HAVE TO HEAR IT FOR YOU and not experiencing something other people have does not make you more or less gay!
Also tbh we are all more than our sexualities and songs can be relatable because of an emotion they convey not because of sexuality stuff. Like I always say Julia Michaels is SO HETTY but she has a bunch of songs I relate to and tbh specifically in wlw relationships. They’re not gay songs thematically but they convey feelings I’ve had... with girls.
I think it’s a bit sad when people - especially younger folk - get hung up on whether something is gay or not for them in order to relate to it.
Like it doesn’t have to be tbh. Julia is ONLY singing about boys but when she sings this:
Tumblr media
I feel seen because the EMOTIONS SHE IS CONVEYING ARE ONES I HAVE FELT and that specific scenario has happened to me.
If something feels relatable, belt it out. If an interpretation resonates - brilliant. If it doesn’t - that’s super chillz like it’s not a math sum tbh.

Classism isn’t just about how much physical wealth a person or family does or doesn’t have. Sure, that’s a major part of it, but its not like...purely confined to how much or how little money a person has throughout the course of their life.
If it was, then concepts like ‘old money’ and ‘new money’ literally wouldn’t even exist. There are tons of families who have inherited and passed on their wealth through generations, aka old money...who sneer and look down upon self-made millionaires who came into their fortunes by means that these other people term ‘common’ or unsophisticated or tacky or simply...choose not to approve of. So as to still justify seeing them as lesser.
Like, someone who spends the first fifty years of their life living below the poverty line and then one day becomes a super lotto jackpot winner and gets fifty million dollars, like...they do not all of a sudden magically become upper class in the eyes of society, their newfound wealth does not guarantee an instant transition to ‘worthiness’ according to anyone they now are able to interact with because of the new doors their sudden millions are able to open for them. People will still happily point to their lack of a college degree, or maybe even a high school diploma, as proof of their lower class status, bank account balance notwithstanding....
Whereas a guy in his twenties who doesn’t even have a place of his own after being evicted from his last apartment for parties disturbing his neighbors 24/7 and is living on various friends’ couches now and didn’t even finish high school because he got expelled for some bullshit...have his parents demand his presence at a fancy event and his best behavior, slap a nice suit on him even if he hasn’t been giving a shit about hygiene for a good month before that....
And as long as he’s ‘old money’ and from a family that goes way back, people might whisper about his behavior and what a shame it is, he comes from such a good family, blah blah...but they’ll still smile and be polite to him, ‘take a chance on him’ when he finally tries applying for a job at a major corporation seeking to fill a position he’s entirely unqualified for...because he still has the right ‘credentials,’ so to speak.
Classism is not just about personal wealth. Its about social standing in the eyes of society, where you’re from, the things you’re associated with as far as everyone else is concerned.
So when I get annoyed by the hypocrisy surrounding classism in this fandom, and the jokes about Dick’s name and costumes and circus background...its because they’re one and the same. Dick might never have been living on the streets, but that doesn’t mean that his background was society approved....EVEN BY READERS. THAT’S THE POINT.
His circus background makes him a joke. Its not worthy of respect. Its not something to be taken seriously, he’s not someone to be taken seriously because of it. The emotional attachments he has to things that remind him of it, of his parents, they’re not really worthy of that much significance or as big a deal as he makes of them. The choice of ‘Dick’ as a nickname is ‘unfortunate,’ its not what anyone with class would call a child, their refusal or inability to come up with something else to call him or for him to change it to something deemed more socially acceptable...
Like. This is all Classism 101.
Its saying that someone is lesser, beneath these others, unworthy of respect or the same kinds of considerations granted to other people or their origins....purely because of where they came from. With that being somewhere, some status, some context that most categorize as “not worth taking seriously or treating as worth our attention or respect.”
Dick’s circus background, in both in-character social circles AND the opinions of MANY in fandom....makes his background a unique or interesting anecdote. Its not like...a real place, where people lived, where he lived. Its not where he established himself as a world class athlete before he was ten, raised from the time he could walk with a work ethic that would make most trust fund kids grow nauseous at the mere thought of. Its not where he was trained in skills that had been honed and passed down by generations of athletes and performers who could have put those skills to work in any number of ways - as Dick later in life applied them to vigilantism, passing on these skills to the rest of his new family of vigilantes as well, for example.
Its not where he grew up surrounded by traditions that might seem silly or ridiculous to other people who didn’t grow up similarly, wearing clothes that might be deemed garish or unsightly to those who set their standards according to the latest fall fashion lines out of Milan.....but the point is how silly or ridiculous or unsightly these traditions or clothing were has never been for other people to judge because they were never intended for anyone else’s approval.
And yes, this applies even in terms of fictional characters and the people reading them who can’t personally relate to a specific community, lifestyle or group. Because whether or not you can relate to them specifically has nothing to do with whether or not you can relate to the experience of seeing something that exists as part of someone else’s real or fictional experiences...and does not actually require your approval in order to be valid and worthy of respect. If its still been clearly established its something THEY respect? It matters on that score alone. What else is needed?
From an in-universe or an in fandom perspective, the constant never-ending jokes about Dick’s origins and everything stemming from them are yes, classism. The entire POINT is that in a universe of child assassins and aliens and robot superheroes and avatars of magic, the thing people single out most often in Batfandom as too silly, too unreal, too unrelatable, too fictional to take seriously, just happens to be this lifestyle and community that even if not exactly commonplace in the real world...still very much exists in the real world, and hmm, just so happens to in the real world....be infamous for being treated poorly and cast as outsiders and criminals by the rest of the world throughout almost all of history...BECAUSE SOCIETY DIDN’T APPROVE OF THEM. Because they weren’t worthy of respect. Of being taken seriously.
LOLOL again, I don’t care if Dick’s not your favorite character or whatever, he doesn’t have to be, and yes, I know its just comics, I know he’s not real, I know he doesn’t need defending, blah blah blah. That’s not the point. The point has always been, this fandom has a bad habit and a long track record of happily perpetuating classist ideas and perceptions and behaviors in regards to some characters, while simultaneously insisting they’re championing the protection of other characters who have been victimized by classism.
It doesn’t work. You can’t have it both ways. Either ACTUALLY examine what classism actually is and the many, MANY ways it can manifest and be evidenced in various stories, reactions and our own behaviors, or like. Stop being like We Are The Knights Against Classism (as defined as things that are mean to Jason and these other characters we stan, denoted as such in Appendix B, Section 5a of our Charter).
Its rarely ever people not liking a fave character of mine that makes me get this annoyed, this frequently, lol. Double standards are dumb, and they’re almost always either a symptom of or a justification for some personal preference that is difficult to otherwise defend as its born of ideas or sentiments that deep down, we know probably aren’t awesome or a good look to sport in public. Which is all the MORE reason to scrutinize our own words or behaviors for evidence of them, and examine what might be at the root of our applying that double standard in a given situation.
That’s it. That’s my entire thesis in every fandom ever, tbh. LOL.

LOVER RANKINGS
Alright, y’all may or may not know, I’m a Taylor Swift fan. Chad Willard posted his Rankings and Reasons for her newest album, Lover, and it inspired me to do the same. So, for the two of you who care about my personal Taylor opinions: here they are.
I haven’t sat with Lover long enough yet to really figure out where I am with it. Speak Now is my peak Taylor Swift album. I love the honesty and vulnerability on all those songs. My emotions oftentimes seem overwhelming, irrational, and illogical, and I feel like a crazy person because I tell myself, “Johnathan, you shouldn’t feel this way, so and so hasn’t done anything wrong, if anybody knew you were THIS upset about THIS situation, they’d all laugh and tell you to relax and calm down and that you were acting crazy.” And oh buddy, if I weren’t acting crazy before, best believe I’d act crazy after.
Speak Now makes me feel like it’s OK to be overwhelmed by my feelings, and Taylor does such a great job of saying exactly how I feel.
So I say all that to say, I’ll probably compare every Taylor album to Speak Now. Does Lover make me feel the same way Speak Now does? Yes and no.
I like Lover a lot. To be fair, I have listened more to the first half than the last, only because by the time I get to  “Death By a Thousand Cuts” I want to go back and listen to “I Forgot that You Existed” again. I’m going to agree with what Chad said that Hannah said: “our enjoyment of her songs oftentimes stems from where our current relationship status is.” I’m so happy that Taylor is in such a healthy, great place emotionally, and that she’s so deeply in love – and the songs she’s made are SO GOOD; but I think I’m having a difficult time enjoying them the way I would if I were in a solid, committed, tried and true relationship. I listen to “I think he knows” and “Paper Rings” and “Lover” and instead of being all glowy and glittery I just feel – sad, I guess. Which maybe explains why I like Speak Now so much, because a lot of those are sad and Overwhelmingly Emotional.
Anyway, TO THE RANKINGS!
18: False God. I just think it’s sonically boring. It’s not fun to sing along to, and the lyrics don’t do enough for me to raise it any higher. I’m gonna give it a little bit longer, maybe it’ll eventually grow on me, but it’s dangerously close to becoming a skip.
17: Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince. I’m going to get dragged for this, but it’s got the same chord progression as “So it Goes” from REPUTATION, and tbh, that one is a skip for me too. Maybe I’m not deep enough or politically educated enough to see all the brilliance behind it, but I’ll give it points for the line “It’s you and me, that’s my whole world,” though.
16: It’s Nice To Have a Friend: Meh. This just seems like a list of unrelated things she’s done with Joe. Again, maybe I’m not deep enough to understand the brilliance, but what is she trying to say? And the song is so repetitive, it doesn’t keep my interest. All this snow, ya know?
15: The Man. It’s a fun song, good beats, fun to sing along to. But as a white male, the content is unrelatable to me. Which is the point, I suppose. The song isn’t meant for me. I appreciate it, for sure, and I think it’s important, but I just don’t feel the way she feels, so it’s just strange to sing along to it. I don’t wonder if I’d get there faster if I was a man, because I am a man.
14: Soon You’ll Get Better. OK, I LOVE this song, to be clear. It’s so sad, so relatable, so pretty to listen to. Hello Dixie Chicks, glad to have you back. I cried the first time I heard it, because I’ve followed along with her mom’s struggle with cancer, and I’ve two really close friends who have lost parents recently to sickness, and the thought of them feeling this way just breaks my heart. The only reason it’s so low on my list is because I like the other songs so much. Here’s where it starts to get difficult for me.
13: London Boy. This one is a lot of fun, it’s fun to sing along to, and I like the fast rappy bridge. Gotta work on getting those lyrics down. I also like the small details about the steps that we all take in relationships, specifically meeting all of his best mates and listening to his stories from uni.
12: ME!. Brendon Urie come through with those vocals. I think I’m a little biased towards this one, just because of the video, and the excitement that always surrounds a new Taylor era. It was the first thing we saw post REPUTATION era, snakes into butterflies, all the bright colors in the video, the peppy catchy chorus. I also strongly relate to “I know that I’m a handful baby…but I promise that nobody’s gonna love you like me.”
11: Daylight. Highly relatable content here. I always say Taylor knows exactly where I am and what I’m going through. Speak Now, I was living in New York, struggling in every aspect, and spent a lot of that era feeling pretty lonely and crazy, broken, losing friends and missing them but not knowing how to say any of that to them. Red was a carry-over. 1989 I had moved to Orlando, was living in the Wolf Den with a bunch of doods that I loved, everything felt neon and electric and exciting. Reputation I had been kicked out of my house and betrayed and felt very snake like, unforgiving, and hard-hearted. And February of this year, I moved into a house I had found, picked amazing people to move in with, and felt in control of my life again. And if you happen to follow Taylor culture, that’s the same month she posted the picture with the seven palm trees to her instagam, which kicked off the whole Lover era. I say all that to say, it was time for me to step into the daylight and let it all go. To be defined by the things that I love, not the things I hate, or haunt me in the middle of the night. I only want to see daylight and think of that that special person, you know?
10: Afterglow. Hello Speak Now. It’s all me, in my head. I’m the one that burned us down, but it’s not what I meant. I don’t want to do this to you, and I don’t want to lose this with you. It’s the perfect example, IMHO, of unconditional love. Here’s all my crazy. Here’s all my insecurities. They’re going to rear their ugly head, will you please love me even with those? Here’s what I need from you in those moments of temporary emotional insanity: Tell me that you're still mine, tell me that we'll be just fine, even when I lose my mind. Tell me that I'm all you want even when I break your heart. And when you do that, I’ll say “I’m sorry that I hurt you.” What a beautiful picture of loving and being loved in return.
9: You Need To Calm Down. I dunno how closely y’all follow my antics on Facebook, but when this video dropped, I casually posted it because I liked the message. As a believer in Christ, I feel the Christian community has done a HORRIFIC job of loving the LBGTQ community, and my simple post BLEW UP, proving my point. Sidebar, I also link the first listen of this song to being in Toy Story Land with Topher, Jessica, and Leslie, huddling around my phone under the giant Christmas lights for our second dive into New Taylor.
8: Paper Rings. Ok now it’s starting to get super hard narrowing it down. We’ve entered my True Jams™ section. The only reason this is at the bottom of my True Jams™ section is because I ain’t in love like this, so where I want to feel like glitter is exploding inside of me, I just feel like dried glue the glitter was meant to stick to. I love how deeply personal it is, I love the specificity, and the song is a BOP. Standout lyrics: “I’m with you even if it makes me blue,” and “I want your complications too, I want your dreary Mondays…”
7: I Think He Knows. A Bop. Fun. Sexy. Coy and flirtatious, while also owning her power. The rappy bits. I’ve never felt a longing for somebody’s body just by the way they hold a cold glass, but boy, does this song make me want to. What specifics, what detail. Also – “I want you, bless my soul.” HONESTLY. BLESS IT LORD.
6: The Archer. Giving me those Speak Now vibes. All my heroes die alone – I jumped from the train, I ride off alone. The LONGING. The wanting to be wanted. Knowing you’re good enough, knowing you have a lot to offer – but also knowing that it’s so much that maybe nobody can handle it all. I’ve got so much to offer, who could ever leave me? I’m too much to handle – god, who could put up with all of it?
5: Cornelia Street. My God can I relate to this. I’m ALWAYS looking for the ending, for someone I love to tell me they’re leaving because being with me is too much. I always prepare for the worst case scenario. And only recently have I started to believe that maybe the worst case won’t always happen? Maybe somebody will stay? But man, my natural impulse, my knee-jerk reaction, will always be to get as far away from any and all memories of the good times. I don’t want to be reminded of the beauty and joy and greatness because it will just keep reminding me that I don’t have it anymore, and there’s nothing I could do to get it back.
4: Death by a Thousand Cuts. Ahhh, yesss, Taylor. Speak to me of being left and of the heartbreak that brings. Also, make it a bop. I constantly find myself looking through the boarded up windows of past relationships, and I see the chandelier still flickering and see all the beautiful moments, though they may have lost the radiance they once had. Saying goodbye is the worst, endings are the worst, new beginnings mean something else ended stale. Also being given up like I was a bad drug – reminds me of a line from “Better Man”: “You pushed my love away like it was some kind of loaded gun.” Pure Taylor and I’m here for it.
3: I Forgot that You Existed. On repeat. Will dance and sing to this endlessly. Also always here for a good snarky twist of the kinfe.
2: Lover. Again, the longing. The vulnerability. Asking the questions that are scary to ask, that people would think you are insane for asking someone. Loving somebody so much that you put everything else aside, and all you want is to ask, “Can I go where you go?” Clingy. Needy. Co-dependent. As brave as it would be to ask a question like that, the fear of being seen as any of these things will keep most from doing it. Which probably hinders more than it helps, because if somebody loves us, truly loves us, we should be able to ask that without any fear of anyone or anything. But I’ll sing it and pretend.
1: Cruel Summer. SO. SINGABLE. I love the chorus. It gets stuck in my head. I love the lyrics. The frailty. A relationship that started as friends with benefits, her saying “it’s cool, no rules,” when secretly she’s falling in love and fears saying it, because she thinks it’d be the worst thing he’s ever heard. Yeah, OK, please stop reading my diary, girl. But the best part is, IMHO, he feels the same way about her, and also has feared speaking up, which is why he’s grinning like a devil, because he’s so happy because he feels the same way. 10/10 cant’ stop listening.
And there you have it, folks. Time may change my rankings, relationships may change my rankings, but from where I sit, 10 days in, these are my thoughts. If you made it this far, I’d love to know what you think of the album, and your rankings!!! As if I’ll ever pass up a chance to talk about/listen to someone talking about Taylor Swift. Sound off!

Hi I show up every time you post which is haha, so funny, but I just wanna know if you've figured out that I'm a desperate bitch yet and if not, I'm a desperate bitch and I like your stuff. You're cool (also what're your thoughts on a road trip AU featuring young!Tony with a lot of trauma under his belt alongside honourably discharged Bucky who's forgotten how to live but they meet in the middle and it becomes a little easier to breathe)
-chokes-Oh manFirst off, i really would like to encourage people to just randomly describe themselves in my inbox.SECOND this is the first time I've replied to an ask with the mobile app and i don't understand why it's not automatically double spaced, it's really fucking with me, but I'm about as likely to do something about it as i am to tell my phone to auto-capitalize "i". I just Don't CareTHIRDLYROADTRIPokay first off I've had a very few good roadtrips and only one was "Long" (~18 hours) BUT i have great stories from those and now i am picturing not only a young Tony maybe on the run or just trying not to be home, and poor Bucky who got an honorable discharge but got fucked over because that's the American way, but all the avengers because the best roadtrip is when there's two cars and by about halfway through you're straight up enemiesSo like, car 1: Rhodey, Nat, Pepper, Bucky, and Tony. Car 2: Steve, Clint, Phil, and Sam. Because those are who i currently feel like giving a fuck about. Car 1 starts with a disadvantage because 5 people in one car always sucks but like, ride or die bitchesSo I'm sort of imagining this as BlackPepper combining their friendgroups in a fucking into the fire way like sink or swim love each other or else. Because it's that or awkward lunches for six months and they clearly don't have the time for that. I assume there is plotting going on because we all know it plotting redheads, but they probably lost control of the situation at one point because roadtripLike I'm imagining a college au so get in that mindset. I feel like Pepper immediately put her foot down about Tony, who's the only teenager there even though he acts like an old man. Pepper is just like okay Tony HAS to be with me or Rhodey at all times or I'll fuck everyone up Nat i stg i will kill your friends to death if they look strongly at my precious baby and Nat looks a this stubborn little asshole who is at once fearless and terrified and she's like, fair enoughBut Bucky, right? I know I'm a Tony fangirl but I'm not forgetting about Bucky. Cause Bucky went into the army at 18 and he came back three years later a different person. Steve didn't go with because a) he's a twiggy artist and b) Sarah would have murdered him after she destroyed the entire us military tbh. Bucky's a freshman, the only one in the group even though he's older than most of them. He's been back for like 6 months now and probably shouldn't even be dealing with college life but he's Bucky and lbr he's not gonna cut himself any slack. But by golly his friends love him and will absolutely fight everyone for him, even himself. So while Pepper's like "protect my son" Nat is like okay let's try to make sure Bucky's with Steve because they're kinda codependent but we're letting that happen for now because we have bigger fish to fry, but on the dl because currently Bucky won't admit to any issues under penalty of death. So day of the roadtrip. I dunno where they're going probably tourist shit they're just like get in the car we'll head for such and such and go from there. My only frame of reference here is Florida so I'm picturing them having to drive at least five hours before they have any reason to stop.Oh! Yes so first stop is gonna be a spring or river or some sort of water shitSoGetting ready to go is Hell they have to fit enough shit for nine people into two regular sized trunks. So they've gotta clean literally everything but the spare tire outta those("Fuck it, leave the tire," Clint suggests. He's packed all of a backpack and, incomprehensibly, his bow with three arrows and he's absolutely going to reek in about two days and probably didn't bring any shampoo or a toothbrush. It's probably like, a t-shirt, some boxers, and swim trunks. He'll wear the same shorts for a month he doesn't care. "If we get stuck on the side of tree road, I'll feed you to buzzards for sport," Pepper says pleasantly. She knows him a little better than most of Nat's friends because her and Clint half live together. They get along fine but Pepper progressed to threats much quicker than Clint is comfortable with. He thought about telling her it was hot but decided he liked his balls intact. "Just shove over the duffle," Bucky said. Tony's being quiet but he's got a toolkit packed in case anything goes wrong; there'll be no stuck-on-the-roadside on his watch. )So they get the trunks sorted and there's a couple bags in the backseats but it's good enough. Then Phil shows up (when did he leave???) and stuffs some blankets and pillows into both cars. "My family likes roadtrips," he says. His eyes are dead. Phil is not including himself in his family here. Phil tried to beg off but Pepper couldn't get Happy and Nat couldn't get Scott etc etc for various missing people and Phil agrees to come because, ultimately, these socially-challenged morons need a voice of reason and that's not Pepper or Nat OR Sam, no matter what they think(The truth is they're all reckless idiots and Phil's no exception but combined they can keep each other safe-ish or at least get in trouble together)((Tony didn't want to come either but more because he doesn't want to get underfoot. But Rhodey and Pepper made the mistake of trusting his "I'm fine" and leaving him alone for a few weeks at school exactly once. Pepper had hugged him and said "Pretty please?" and Tony's no good at turning down requests, especially from his few, beloved friends))(((Nat took a different approach with Bucky, who didn't want to come either. "If you don't come Steve won't come and then you'll have to say at Steve and Sam's wedding that it was delayed all because you skipped out on the best roadtrip ever.""It is going to be awful," Bucky said. Nat gave a particularly Russian shrug. Bucky sighed and gave in. He didn't exactly wanna spend a week in the dorms alone anyway.)))And then they really just wanna get going what the fuck guys it's already evening should we just wait til morning no fucking way shut your mouth we're going n o wPepper and Nat manage to be together, and they manage to pay Tony and Bucky special attention, as intended. But uh. Oops? It's Rhodey driving with Pepperi the passenger seat, mostly out of habit; they've done short road trips a lot at this point and it's always Rhodey driving to start, Pepper up front so Tony can nap in the backBut uhTony's in the middle in the back, with a pillow and a tablet in his lap. He's putting on a good show of being Totally Fine, but he's clearly tense. Bucky's smooshed against the door as much ash can, broadcasting discomfort like a cat in the rain. Nat leans against the door too, trying to be considerate, but Pepper starts texting her urgently( TOUCH HIM!!!!!hes so tense wtfNat I love you trust me and touch him a littleAnd Nat shifts over just a bit, so her legs are against Tony's, and for a second he freezes, and then he finally loses some of that tensionTOUCH STARVED?????? Nat texts Pepper, alarmed for this kid.His dad sucks, is Pepper's take, and Nat scowls and gets comfortable, pointedly touching Tony without pushing into his space.)MEANWHILE Phil is the odd man out but he's driving so it kinda works. Clint's in the passenger seat because Clint is a no good dirty cheater, and also has very stern, specific instructions from Nat. Steve and Sam are the most comfortable of the entire group, and within an hour they've got their feet a little tangled, not cuddling but not-not cuddling, and Steve's dosing a little cause he took a motion sickness thing and it always makes him a little sleepy"So Pepper seems terrifying," Clint says to Phil as an opener. They probably should've hung out at least a little before this because Pepper and Nat are the only things he can think of to talk about (and maybe it's not helping that Phil is weirdly hot and serious and he's seen him smile a couple times and he's trying to figure out how to see it up close but it turns out it's not hard cause right away Phil grins and chuckles a little and Clint thinks he's maybe having a heart attack)"So does Natasha. Or is it just Nat?""Sometimes it's Natalia," Clint says automatically, which isn't very helpful. "Uh. What are you studying?" Which is stupid and cliche but Phil manages to turn it into an actual conversation and in the backseat Sam's texting the whole thing to Bucky, who keeps sending back strings of emojis that aren't always sensible but like, Sam totally gets it. And then Sam gets a text of the top of a head of messy dark brown curls and a string of panicking emojis. There's a suspicious blushing emoji in there though and Sam snickers to himself. Steve wakes up with a little "hm?" which is too cute for words so Sam just passes him the phoneTony started off working on his tablet but he hasn't slept in...a while and he's been stressing about this but now he's in Rhodey's familiar car and Pepper's got classic rock going kinda quiet and Nat snuck her toes under his leg and he fights it for a while, but eventually he slumps over, and he doesn't even notice himself sliding towards the warmth that smells like machine oil and leather. Tony looks small and sweet and quiet and Bucky likes to watch him sometimes, when he can, even though he feels like a creep. It's just that Tony seems so alive in a way that Bucky can't really capture. Like he's so tired but so full of life and fire and maybe that's optimism he's not sure but he thinks it might be. Everyone always seems tired on campus, or young and stupid, or just so unrelatable. And it's not that he can relate to Tony so much as he wishes he could. Like watching the moon in the surface of a lake and being afraid of the ripples. Bucky slowly relaxes, lulled into it by Tony's quiet breathing, and Nat gives him a very obvious thumbs up, with a certain look in her eyes, and he catches Rhodey's eye in the rearview mirror, so he slides down a little, slowand quiet, tucks an arm around Tony and lets himself relax, puts down three phone and stares out the windowThey stop at an all-night walmart when Clint suddenly realizes they don't have SUPPLIESWATER SUPPLIES!!!Bucky and Tony go in, with Clint and Phil, to get Supplies, while everyone else stretches their legs or texts demands for snacks. They grab a bunch of stuff, everything that looks even mildly amusing, Tony sleep-fuzzy and relaxed from it, and in line him and Clint attack each other with pool noodles, earning a few glares from other shoppers, but they're laughing too!much to care. There's not really room in the cars for everything but they make it work and they're all wide awake then, everyone chattering for the last two hours before they realize they should've arrived by now and then Rhodey stops (he was the one leading) and there's dogs barking and they're in a trailer park andPhil calls him just to ask, "What the fuck Rhodes."They all get out their phones and they're yelling directions at Rhodey and they're lucky he loves them because seriously they deserve death at this point. They pull up to the park at 5am when they should've been there at, oh, 1 or so no one's sure how they got so turned around but they made it yaaayAnd then "Fuck," Pepper says. "Tents."And that's where I'm leaving this for now cause I'm tired of typing on mobile but tbh i wanna write a college roadtrip now. I'm just imagining a lot of cuddles at this point everyone gets maximum hugs plz. Also i can't tag this??? So thanks mobile

Thank you so much for being one of the very few fanfiction writers who doesn't overtly describe OC as being white. That way, poc don't feel ignored
i’m glad my ocs come across as being, for the most part, racially ambiguous. i try my best to be as descriptive as possible with how they react physically in certain situations, while at the same time not using certain wording that would make the scene feel unrelatable to some people. tbh though i’ve never actually read any fics where an author is being super overt about their ocs being white, unless it’s like wattpad or something. the worst i usually see is when an author slips and says the oc blushes bright red or something of that nature, but i think for the most part, tumblr authors specifically (or lat least the ones i read), try their best to tailor their ocs to everyone!

All the questions for Liz, birch you asked for it
THIS IS GONNA TAKE ME 200 YEARS I HATE YOU.
1. What’s their full name? Why was that chosen? Does it mean anything?
Answered: Her name is Elizabeth Holt, because the first RP I ever used her in was a period RP dated back thousands of years, so I needed something dated and nice, something that REALLY doesn’t fit her character because I wanted to show how much her parents didn’t really know her / connect with her. They would call her Elizabeth at the time and she’d want to vomit haha. Also it had plenty of nick names I could use for other RPs / modern day. Now that it’s 2017 though, I wish I’d chosen a more ethnic last name for her. I grabbed Holt because at the time she was Phoebe Tonkin, and at the time, her and Claire Holt were best friends. It was just easy.
2. Do they have any titles? How did they get them?
Okay so I went through the list again with more determination this time. The Bully, The Former Teen Rebel, Determinator, Consummate Liar,  The Gadfly,  Hair-Trigger Temper, Satisfied Street Rat, High School Hustler,  Jaded Washout, Little Miss Badass, The Munchausen!!!, Person of Mass Destruction, Rebellious Spirit, Schoolyard Bully All Grown Up.
3. Did they have a good childhood? What are fond memories they have of it? What’s a bad memory?
Answered:  Like. This is hard to answer because in the conventional way, no, she didn’t. But she’s not so scarred by it she’s bitter or hateful of it or anything. In honesty, falling under “The Satisfied Street Rat” trope, she pretty much wouldn’t have it any other way. Her mom had her at like 16/17, and she was a roadie at the time, totally living it up with all things inappropriate for a girl whos not even legal at the time. They had no money, she was born in the back of a car, before she was even able to walk and talk, her mom and her had stayed with random blokes all over the country. For a while, her mom was hooked on oxy, and once she gave that up, she became hooked on boyfriends. Like I give credit to the only reason why Liz is still alive, is because learning to survive was the first lesson she was ever taught through neglect. Her fond memories include always spending Christmas getting drunk with her mother, starting at age fourteen, and travelling to new places all over the country with her, making up funny stories about what each town’s history was. People watching and making fun of those more fortunate, watching crappy late night tv shows and experiencing her firsts with her mom (first period, first shaving experience, first shop lifting gig). The bad memories mostly revolve around her mom picking really gross, really weird men and leaving her alone with them. They were so creepy it pushed her to get out of the house, where tbh, Liz fell into worse situtations.
4. What is their relationship with their parents? What’s a good and bad memory with them? Did they know both parents?
Answered: I mean, even if her mom has chosen many things over the ultimate care for Liz — (cigarettes, booze, men, drugs) — they still have an unbelievably unbreakable bond. Now that her mom is older, she’s calmed down a bit, and she has a lot more wise moments for Liz. To explain lessons she never had while Liz was growing up and not understanding. Even if her mom drives her crazy and still acts like an eighteen year old sometimes, Liz would still drop everything to help her if the situation called for it. Which it does. Often. As for her dad, she has no idea who or where he is. Has no interest either.
5. Do they have any siblings? What’s their names? What is their relationship with them? Has their relationship changed since they were kids to adults?
Answered: Nope.
6. What were they like at school? Did they enjoy it? Did they finish? What level of higher education did they reach? What subjects did they enjoy? Which did they hate?
She’s not studious at all, she often finds it hard to concentrate, and being dyslexic, she kind of just avoided work rather than admitted she had trouble with it. She skipped class a lot really early on, and got sent home from her first day of high school in a new state for being a shit head. School was not her friend. She didn’t like any subjects except I think maybe one because she had a hot teacher probably. She hated all the classes she had to do work in.
7. Did they have lots of friends as a child? Did they keep any of their childhood friends into adulthood?
Yes and no. She had a lot of people she hung out and spent time with, but none of them actually reached wholesome friendship. She didn’t really trust that any of them really cared about her. The first friend she ever made was Tori. And their friendship went beyond mutual hobbies and rebel causes. They became close like family and still are.
8. Did they have pets as a child? Do they have pets as an adult? Do they like animals?
She was never in one place long enough to have a pet. She likes them though. Always jealous of people who had dogs.
9. Do animals like them? Do they get on well with animals?
Yeah for sure. She actually gets on with animals really well.
10. Do they like children? Do children like them? Do they have or want any children? What would they be like as a parent? Or as a godparent/babysitter/ect?
Not really, not at all. But then she became a mom so oops? She’s that inappropriate aunt that everyone wants.
11. Do they have any special diet requirements? Are they a vegetarian? Vegan? Have any allergies?
Nope and nope.
12. What is their favourite food?
Mexican food. Spesifically tacos and burritos and tequila. Extra guac.
13. What is their least favourite food?
Anything healthy. And she’s not really a sweet tooth either.
14. Do they have any specific memories of food/a restaurant/meal?
I mean once she had a very nice dinner at Taco bell where her and Gus got into a physical and were banned for life. She was so mad at him that night that when she saw that he was in her little slice of heavan at the same time she was, she grabbed his food and smashed it in his face. He threw his drink at her. They ended up brawling and getting held for a few hours at the police station. She was so mad. But it also is one of their most defining moments as a couple.
15. Are they good at cooking? Do they enjoy it? What do others think of their cooking?
She’s not a GOOD cook, but she knows how to make a few whatever meals. She’s had to look after herself for a long time so she kind of just figured out how to make stuff work. I’m convinced there’s a lot of things she does wrong though, that someone will find out in her adult life like, “what you do this?” and she just kanye shrugs like “yeah i always have why”
16. Do they collect anything? What do they do with it? Where do they keep it?
Enemies. She collects enemies. Also Taco Bell loyalty cards.
17. Do they like to take photos? What do they like to take photos of? Selfies? What do they do with their photos?
Oh hell yeah. She takes so many dumb photos on her phone for blackmail / to secretly love later of the people around her. Her gallery is FULL of photos of people she cares about. And selfies but not the cool kind, the dumb kind. Like stuffing tampons up her nose or using her own hair as a moustache kind of selfies. Or “look at this fat asshole gorging on 200 burritos behind me” selfies because shes such a mean shit.
She also has the photo collage that her and Gus started when they moved from sixth. It’s been plastered a lot of different places, and now, probably sits in a box because she’s moved yet again.
18. What’s their favourite genre of: books, music, tv shows, films, video games and anything else
Books: none, she hates reading. unless its a trash magazine.Music: rock, 80s hits, super inappropriate rap.Tv Shows: trashy reality tv.Films: crazy stupid love or nothing. dont ask. its a long running joke.Video games; the one kind where you can brutally murder someone and get points for it. (she probably loves wreaking havoc in gta lbh.)
19. What’s their least favourite genres?
Books: anything that is educational or fictional.Music: love songs, country.Tv Shows: ones with really intense plot lines you need to pay attention to 100%.Films: anything that is not crazy stupid love.Video games; ones that involve lots of attention, she gets bored too quickly, also any that she doesnt win at.
20. Do they like musicals? Music in general? What do they do when they’re favourite song comes?
Not really. But then she’s with / has a child to a Broadway, almost gay, sings-for-a-living dude so. Like she puts up with it as much as Liz puts up with anything. Her favourite songs are definitely completely unrelatable random hits too. I mean like, Waka Flocka Flame’s “No hands” is probably her jam. And she can rap it all perfectly for no apparent reason LOL. She gets TURNT. Also probably Black Skinhead.
21. Do they have a temper? Are they patient? What are they like when they do lose their temper?
HAHAHAHA :’)
22. What are their favourite insults to use? What do they insult people for? Or do they prefer to bitch behind someone’s back?
She’s always been creative with her insults and usually completely from left feild. She hits hard with her insults. She also is down to bitch behind backs.
23. Do they have a good memory? Short term or long term? Are they good with names? Or faces?
HA no. She can’t even remember what she had for dinner the night before.
24. What is their sleeping pattern like? Do they snore? What do they like to sleep on? A soft or hard mattress?
She’s all limbs, a kicker, a pusher, a talker and a snorer. She’s a mess when it comes to sleeping, and she also sleeps like a damn log. She often sleeps naked, but if not, then at least in a random tee. And can probably sleep on anything as well.
25. What do they find funny? Do they have a good sense of humour? Are they funny themselves?
When people fall over or hurt themselves, when people think they’re hot shit, when Miles does something dumb, when Gus does something even dumber, when Leo gets hit on by woman and looks like he wants to die, when they get up to drunk shenanigans. I think she’s got an awesome sense of humour personally, she kind of can find the humour in anything. Even the worst of situations. That’s her coping mechanism. Laugh it out so you don’t cry. She and her think she’s fucking hilarious.
26. How do they act when they’re happy? Do they sing? Dance? Hum? Or do they hide their emotions?
She go out of her way to socialize, she goes out of her way to spend time with the people she cares about, she drinks, she punches people’s arms more, she smiles a lot.
27. What makes them sad? Do they cry regularly? Do they cry openly or hide it? What are they like they are sad?
Ugh lots. Her daily life, being the biggest joke. Her ability to lose every job she has. That she can’t really do anything right. But she hides all of this, doesn’t even admit it to her closests. They don’t need to know how she feels like a failure every day.
28. What is their biggest fear? What in general scares them? How do they act when they’re scared?
That she’s going to fuck her son up. That Gus is going to realize one day that he deserves better and he’ll leave her. Bonus: and he’ll take Miles with him. That Leo will get himself into something she can’t get him out of. That Tori will disappear off the face of the planet one day because of Cas and she’ll have not even a clue of where to find her or how to get her back.
29. What do they do when they find out someone else’s fear? Do they tease them? Or get very over protective?
On the up front? Make fun of them for it, use it against them, plaster it for the whole world to mock. On the down low? Fight it. Fight that fear and show them that she’s been through hell and back, they can get past this too. She’ll be their backbone if they can’t stand by their own.
30. Do they exercise? Regularly? Or only when forced? What do they act like pre-work out and post-work out?
Man, she used to work out so much on Sixth. But I think having Leo with her all the time was an incentive, like that dude is packin! Then she got lazy, she met Gus, she ate lots and had Miles. Now she’s working on dropping the weight she hasn’t been bothered to do anything about for ages.
31. Do they drink? What are they like drunk? What are they like hungover? How do they act when other people are drunk or hungover? Kind or teasing?
Way too much. She’s either wildly fun, feels invincible and completely full of surprises or she’s all that but BAD. She gets aggressive and destructive, abusive and angry. It’s a mess. She often likes to do stuff about things she’s been avoiding thinking about while sober. When drunk; thats when she likes to teach people the lesson she believes they deserve. She ditches other drunk people, she aint got the patience. She’s just like “man see ya never i got burritos to eat”
32. What do they dress like? What sorta shops do they buy clothes from? Do they wear the fashion that they like? What do they wear to sleep? Do they wear makeup? What’s their hair like?
In Sixth, she was a lot more feminine. She wore blouses and heels and pencil skirks becuase of her work. Then once she gave up that job, I imagined her in a lot more yoga pants and tanks because she had no where to be. But now, she’s gone back to how she used to be growing up. She’s a lot more tom boy, sneakers and shorts, ripped denim and holey faded shirts. Gelly band bracelets, hair ties and real 90s stuff.
33. What underwear do they wear? Boxers or briefs? Lacey? Comfy granny panties?
None sometimes. Black boyshorts other times.
34. What is their body type? How tall are they? Do they like their body?
She’s tall, and has a very boyish figure. No defined hips and gangly limbs. She used to have tiny boobs but now that she’s had Miles, theyre bigger and shes not real sure what to do about them. But she wears a lot of baggy shirts so who the fuck would notice? She doesn’t really care about her body, it’s a meat sack, it’s never let her down so far.
35. What’s their guilty pleasure? What is their totally unguilty pleasure?
Guilty pleasure: Actually venting about legit things and being listened to. Unguilty pleasure: jamming hardcore to shitty rap music. Physicall fighting people.
36. What are they good at? What hobbies do they like? Can they sing?
Avoiding the question, keeping important information to herself, running away from her problems, avoiding confrontation, making enemies, causing arguments and fights, being hated immediately. Her hobbies include drinking and spending time with the fam. She can’t sing but she does. Unapologetically.
37. Do they like to read? Are they a fast or slow reader? Do they like poetry? Fictional or non fiction?
Not at all. She’s dyslexic and in denial. So she avoids reading lengthy things.
38. What do they admire in others? What talents do they wish they had?
Compassion and kindness for no reason. She doesn’t get it, and wishes she could be more like that. She wishes she didn’t find a way to fuck things up so easily. She wishes she was good at literally anything that would give her a good career.
39. Do they like letters? Or prefer emails/messaging?
None of the above.
40. Do they like energy drinks? Coffee? Sugary food? Or can they naturally stay awake and alert?
Definitely all of these things.
41. What’s their sexuality? What do they find attractive? Physically and mentally? What do they like/need in a relationship?
Heterosexual.
Things she finds attractive; the ability to keep up with her, or match her sense of humour, people with crude language and behavior, wild spirits, people who arent afraid of being judged, bad boys, people who actually get her.
What she wants in a relationship; chaos, humanity, humor, dick jokes
What she needs in a relationship; stability, trust, resilience
42. What are their goals? What would they sacrifice anything for? What is their secret ambition?
a) Be a good mom b) Don’t give up on the people she cares about c) Don’t be her mother
I don’t know if she has anything to sacrifice tbh. Her secret ambition though would be to go to school and get a real job, but I doubt she ever will.
43. Are they religious? What do they think of religion? What do they think of religious people? What do they think of non religious people?
No, she think its all a pile of shit. She thinks religious people are a laughing stock and can’t wait for them to die and realize there’s no such thing as God or heaven.
44. What is their favourite season? Type of weather? Are they good in the cold or the heat? What weather do they complain in the most?
Summer. She likes the dry and hot, loves her shorts, love that she tans. She complains a lot about the cold, she hates it.
45. How do other people see them? Is it similar to how they see themselves?
An uncultured, uneducated, offensive, insensitive asshole. Which for the most part she is, but what people don’t realize is that she was never really given the opportunity to have a real education or proper nurture. She missed out on a lot of valuable lessons that other people have learned the conventional way, and she learned everything she does know, the hard way. She was lied to and abused and neglected most of her childhood, she grew up thinking that the ugly in the world was normal. So that’s the parts of the world she’s now made up of.
46. Do they make a good first impression? Does their first impression reflect them accurately? How do they introduce themselves?
Usually never. But sometimes, every once and a while, she’ll meet a character that is of the same code. They get on like a house on fire, and it’s always an awesome surprise. Her first impressions always reflect her accurately, yeah. She’s always being dumb or offensive or both.
47. How do they act in a formal occasion? What do they think of black tie wear? Do they enjoy fancy parties and love to chit chat or loathe the whole event?
Really inappropriately. She’s the one who steals wedding gifts, or drinks the whole open bar, or causes a scene during speeches, or hooks up with the groom, or gets busted on the dance floor while tripping balls, etc. She’s never been made for corperate or formal events. She thinks dressing up is stupid.
48. Do they enjoy any parties? If so what kind? Do they organise the party or just turn up? How do they act? What if they didn’t want to go but were dragged along by a friend?
Oh yeah. She loves parties a lot for someone who generally hates everyone. But she likes being in the thick of it, meeting new people to argue with or hate on. She likes getting obliterated and doing dumb shit to pass the time. She’s always the one who drags people along haha.
49. What is their most valued object? Are they sentimental? Is there something they have to take everywhere with them?
The photo collage that her and Gus made, that’s been through every move with them. And her pride. Definitely that.
50. If they could only take one bag of stuff somewhere with them: what would they pack? What do they consider their essentials?
Her ego, some sunglasses that make her look super fly, cash for liquor and a burrito, tampons, mace spray and her keys.
Things she always leaves behind: her dignity.

About that NYT Nazi Article...
Remember when we didn't need to discuss Nazis all the time? Like...back in the day...early 2016-2015. Good times, those were :( So what's this big fuss over the New York Times Nazi Article? What's got everyone so upset? Are the Regressive Leftists being regressive again? God why can't they tolerate different ideas... Did these lefty cucks really think an article would push people into being Nazis? ------ *deep sigh* ---Well--- ...While there were some (I didn't see too many tbh) people going overboard and calling the NYT a literal Nazi Sympathizing paper (like come on, I don't actually think they have a secret Nazi agenda), there were a lot of other good reasons to be disappointed with this article. I'm wary of both ends of this too, carelessly throwing around the term Nazi *and* being overly defensive/underusing the term Nazi, even when it CLEARLY applies. There are people who have accused me of being a 'Nazi sympathizer' because I have been critical of the hijab and niqab as a woman who had to live through 'modesty' enforced by the state in Saudi Arabia. You bet your ass I'm going to be critical...and it's not at all for the same xenophobic fear-mongering reasons most far-righters hate muslims/hijabs in this current climate....And then, there's the other side, where I'm surrounded by supposed 'Rational Skeptic' thinkers who are so 'anti-left' that downplaying Nazis is kind of their embarrassing trademark now. They will literally argue that someone shouting 'Heil Hitler' at a white nationalist speech is "not a Nazi" - because they aren't time-traveling from Nazi era Germany, you see...so technically they can't be Nazis.
Wtf? I thought there were no nazis any more. http://pic.twitter.com/oGZBTTxq3Z

Some are simply so anti-Muslim that it serves their interest to downplay Nazis in a way that would be better suited to The Onion.
There are great intellectual Atheist takes that will put the swastika and Star of David in the same category, and when someone politely explains why that's an issue they will double down and insist that Judaism is *worse* than Nazism actually....
There are tons of examples of this type of ignorant nonsense from Rational Skeptics in the online Atheist scene. If you were to go by some of these commentator's timelines...there is apparently *no* problem with a rise of (neo) Nazis in Trumpian America. It's all just leftist hysteria. According to them, time is best spent arguing against those who refer to Richard Spencer as a Nazi....because he's not a time traveler... *eyeroll* So while I agree, that there are definitely people who overuse the term, I'm also increasingly frustrated by people who downplay the danger of the far-right, who insist Nazis don't exist at all today, who pretend like this is still some fringe issue and not a growing movement with a President who has has created a welcoming space for them. The rest of us, as reasonable humans, should try and exist between these two incredibly stupid and toxic extremes. And with this article, it seemed that NYT was sort of playing the tune of the 'Nazi downplayers'... ----- Let me jump right into why I think the piece was not well received....In fact it was so badly received that the editor had to chime in and explain wtf they were thinking. How the NYT put it in their headline, "Readers Accuse Us of Normalizing a Nazi Sympathizer; We Respond" is a fairly accurate description of most of the criticism. So while not literally Nazi sympathizing, but *normalizing* a Nazi sympathizer....I think that's fair...a case can be made for this article doing exactly that, whether it intended to or not. There's also the fact that the writer of this now notorious piece also wrote an additional piece about how he knew it was missing something, and how he could 'feel the failure' because he didn't get to the heart of why this Nazi turned to his vile belief system. It read like an excuse, something else to pin the colossal failure of this article on, other than the awfulness of the piece itself. I can tell he had enough to write a better piece on this very subject just by reading what he put out. And come on, if you're writing to explain your article and saying you could feel the failure, then I think you've conceded that it was pretty bad. On top of that, there were also factual errors:
The @nytimes "Nazi next door" article appears to have basic factual problems, too https://t.co/EKGTsvemJn http://pic.twitter.com/fpRvrVpA6X

So much went wrong here. --And it's not that I don't understand what was being attempted. I know this kind of piece, and it can indeed be done very well...the juxtaposition of horrific genocidal beliefs with mundane snippets of everyday existence. There is something to that contrast for sure...but there has to be an actual, proper contrast for that to work. It won't work if it's heavy on the minor details of what everyone was wearing and eating but glosses over the, ya know...genocidal beliefs part. That's when it becomes lopsided..and people start to wonder wtf you were even trying to do, if not a cushy profile? There also has to come a point where the article serves a purpose beyond describing what the nazis were wearing/eating/having on their wedding registry. It should inform us in some way? Tell us something about the movement and radicalization process...other than making the Nazi grievances seem legit. "His faith in mainstream solutions slipped as he toured the country with one of the metal bands. “I got to see people who were genuinely hurting,” he said. “We played coast to coast, but specifically places in Appalachia, and a lot of the Eastern Seaboard had really been hurt.”" This type of article done properly, delves into the extremist's beliefs and frames them in a way that no borderline-nazis reading, could mistake for free promotion. It lets the subject hang himself by his own words, so to speak... but it doesn't jump immediately from him saying *Hitler was chill* to sympathetically telling his story about how society is not fair to him, and what his dream fascist-utopia would look like...punctuated with cute details about Cherry pie tattoos and wedding planning. I mean yeah, of course I understand the need to humanize evil, and to show us that it doesn't come in the shape of an unrelatable monster, it can live, breathe and walk amongst us in the form of our neighbours, coworkers, teachers, friends, etc. That's an important message...it's just that this article failed to deliver it. There is a line between 'humanize' and 'sanitize'...the same line exists between whether one is journalistically exploring an extremist subject or providing a glossy advert for them. This is the difference between Louis Theroux and Dave Rubin (alt-right propagandist) for example. Louis can explore all manner of disturbing extremist subjects but people don't assume he is sympathetic to them because of the way he frames those stories. Dave on the other hand enters his interviews with a clear agenda of wanting the extremists to present their best side, while talking shit about The Left with them. Now, I don't think this NYT piece was like Dave Rubin sanitizing 'migrants are cockroaches' 'we need a final solution' Katie Hopkins bad....There was better intent behind it and it just didn't work out, I want to make that clear. Dave's is an intentional sanitization, this was a poor job of framing the article which resulted in what appeared to be a normalizing effect. When you are trying to show that evil exists among us and goes to Applebee's just like us...then actually position the piece in that way. Then the absurdity of combining white supremacist ideology with a causal turkey sandwich will perhaps even be entertaining. But the key is you make it clear that you are trying to demonstrate how banal evil can be... If done well, this kind of piece can be very effective. The 'banality of evil' genre isn't a write off...but you've got to get the tone right. Don't approach Nazism as if it's a mere cultural curiosity. Don't do it in a way that it serves no purpose other than simply boosting a white supremacist signal out into the world...on a popular, respected mainstream outlet - Because *that* could potentially embolden more borderline white nationalists in this particular white power-y climate....they'll see that they're getting such a fuzzy profile which isn't really demonizing them at all. One that's in fact helping to mainstreamize them! See guys, their hopes and dreams are just like ours! They have muffin tins on their wedding registries! They talk about having kids too! Aww... Nazis *love* mainstream media coverage, so at least try to do it in a way that makes them not love it? “I love mainstream liberals. Those are my favorite journalists.” - Richard Spencer  If you're going to give someone space to say 'Hitler was chill' ffs, the next paragraph better be something to balance that and signal to others like him that this ideology is not tolerated. The shiny new Nazism of 2017 isn't some rare ornament that you can report on in a detached manner...it's a pretty urgent issue we're facing in the west, lives have been lost. Pieces on this subject without a sense of urgency or a sense of purpose will cause people to question the motives of such a project. Picture this same type of article featuring a Jihadist or an Islamist.. the same people whining that The Left wants audiences spoonfed basic facts like 'Nazis are bad' would themselves be outraged. Not an exact comparison, but this situation reminds me of the time a ridiculous Asim Qureshi of CAGE referred to ISIS murderer Jihadi John as 'a beautiful man', and people were rightfully appalled. Now obviously he wasn't referring to the ISIS version of the guy as beautiful, but rather the guy he knew in the past. But *still* wtf was he thinking saying that about a beheader? Similarly, its not that people need to be spoonfed the position that Nazis are bad, but they are just appalled that someone with genocidal beliefs and sympathies for a monster like Hitler can be portrayed in such a soft lens. People are understandably sensitive about how vile ideologies and their adherents are portrayed. You just can't be downplaying this kind of thing....The Asim Qureshi thing was a sentence, but imagine the outrage if he was profiling a Jihadi for a known publication...and he focused on his wedding plans, and on the fact that he didn't see himself as a jihadist, just someone fighting for freedom for his family, the kinds of sandwiches they shared and didn't address the elephant in the room, that woah those are some very fucked up and dangerous beliefs. The most upsetting thing to people is that this story ran in a climate where nazis are becoming emboldened by the day. Where the US president is inspiring them and is unable to properly condemn them. This article came across cold and with no comment on the victims of this ideology. Despite mentioning Charlottesville, there was no sympathy for Heather Heyer. They literally included a link to where you can purchase a swastika armband ffs. WHYYY.
'Facepalm' doesn't quite cut it.
Now, I personally enjoy the use of absurd and comedic tactics to combat extremism, It's why I liked the real housewives of ISIS skit...it's why I enjoy Contrapoints' channel, especially her older videos involving bedazzling swastikas on her chest....it's why we've done two episodes together on a strangely specific topic like 'Fascist Fashion'. I absolutely think theres a way to talk about a Nazi's food preferences and make it valuable and entertaining. But it has to add something, it has to have a point...and the point can't just be detailing the kinds of sandwiches they eat. The article seems incomplete...like there could have been a useful point made afterwards but there just wasn't and the writer stopped at minor food details. Ok, so he eats at Applebee's and? This could have been a piece about the tactics they use to mainstreamize their views and almost appear normie, but it wasn't. Heck this could have even been a piece about how Nazis consume the same pop culture as us and the cognitive dissonance behind that... it could have been a 'how to spot signs'....but instead it really served no purpose at all. ----- Here are some excerpts from the piece that I found particularly cringeworthy:
I mean look at how it starts off, painting them as any other sweet couple with a wedding registry at Target, people who bake muffins and slice pineapples.....and? AND wouldn't mind some ethnic cleansing of non-white people....how about adding that?
Then there was this gem....like...what...?
 O___O
I had to check a couple of times to make sure I wasn't missing some quotation marks or something...because, did the writer really write that himself? Is that his opinion? Or is he sharing what he thinks the subject of his profile feels like? It's all too vague and blurry to be reassuring that it's not the writer himself saying that, "it can FEEL toxic to openly identify as a far right extremist" - What do you mean it can FEEL toxic? It is toxic, it's fucking extremism...
What is he trying to do there, I don't know tbh....Aww poor white nationalist is having a hard time coming out of the closet because the horrible environment is too toxic for him to be his genuine self. Ffs.
So here we start with how polite and 'low-key' he is, aww....he's literally the Nazi sympathizer next door...what a 'wholesome' image. And then we actually hear a tiny sprinkling of his vile views...almost as if they slipped in by accident to ruin his nazi-next-door image. No worries, the writer jumps straight to his cutesie cherry pie pop-culture tattoos because we can't dwell on the uncomfortable vile beliefs too long for some reason...
Here, again with the fucking manners. He's a fucking Nazi who thinks white people are superior to other races and Hitler wasn't so bad....that's not very polite is it now?
It just seems odd to give him space to spout this anti semitic conspiracy on such a large platform without adding a remark or two, or at least a mildly disapproving adjective somewhere.
See how harmless and non-racist he is? He's even having mixed-race couples at his wedding.
--How about you don't add that right after talking about how he says he's not a white supremacist?--
People trying to split hairs between white nationalist and white supremacist should really be challenged on that at the very least if they are being given such a large platform.
I don't know maybe it's just me but you've got to inject some expression or commentary as a writer when your subject is engaging in holocaust denial and saying Hitler was 'chill'. In a documentary profiling extremists perhaps the interviewer can rely on facial expressions or just a tense awkward atmosphere... to convey appropriate framing. But in an article if all we get is cold detached reporting and obsessive detail on nazi eating habits, people are not going to take it well.
And it ends on a note of them sharing their hopes and dreams like any other couple (exactly how it began), woven badly with a quick mention of Charlottesville. And what. is. with. the. food. obsession. in. this. article? Turkey sandwiches, muffin pans, Applebees, Pasta. What a normal year 2017 has been. ----- A huge thanks to Patrons who make this work possible. If you enjoy my work please consider supporting via Patreon here.

So the way TT* talks about Karlie does remind me of some of my straight female friends. Like it's this very specific energy of like internalized male gaze I guess. It's the way they talk about women they think their husbands wanna fuck. If that makes sense.
Yeah I hear that. Like I say to me it ties into not understanding female desire lol and so projecting what one understands of the male gaze and switching POVs.
The way a lot of these straight Kays talk about women is highkey funny and very deeply unrelatable.
Like I’m super gay and thirsty all the time especially in the pandemic. I talk about hot women on this blog literally all day. But I thirst after them in a... gay way lol.
And these straight Kays imagine women thirsting for each other in like a very non gay way tbh.
