You know, Legally Blonde the musical makes a good point of showing how following people's expectations of you, even if it makes you miserable, isn't only hurting you, it's hurting everyone. And this point isn't made through only through Elle, but also Vivienne and Warner. Like, obviously, Elle played the part of 'serious lawyer girl', even though it wasn't her, and was only able to save the day when she went back to her true self. That's the whole moral of the story. But Vivienne only dated Warner because they were a 'good couple' and when he proposed, she looked fucking miserable. She looked uncomfortable, and clearly only said yes to stick it to Elle- a horrible decision she would regret shortly after. But Warner? Warner's the interesting one. His whole song is about the expectations his family puts on him, how he has to go to Harvard, even though he's not smart enough, how he has to marry a Jackie, even though he wants to propose to Elle (he says how he talked to his parents about proposing but they said no). He's good at law, don't get me wrong (he got the internship), but he doesn't like it. In the reprise of Serious, he expresses how much he misses UCLA, and having fun. Harvard is not the perfect place for him. And because he's miserable, he makes everyone else miserable. I don't know, I kinda just ranted, but ya. Don't do shit you hate just because everyone expects you to.

there are so many details in this moment:
Emmett leaning back in his chair
Brooke nodding and doing the Delta Nu snaps
Warner standing up
Enid tilting her head
the prison guard looking absolutely stunned and changing his feet stance (idk what it is called haha)
that guy with the folder just looking away
that woman reaching down in the box is just frozen
camera man bringing up his camera
that guy collapsing and covering his mouth
the woman next to camera man seems to be snapping in approval as well anyway tag yourself? and go check out the 2018 Penn State Centre production of Legally Blonde :)

Blurb: Since her parents were killed, Vivienne has always felt ungrounded, shuffled through the foster care system. Just when liberation finally seems possible - days before her eighteenth birthday - Vivienne is hospitalised with symptoms no one can explain. The doctors may be puzzled, but Deacon, her mysterious new friend, claims she has an active Nevergene. His far-fetched diagnosis comes with a warning: she is about to become an involuntary test subject for the Humanitarian Organisation for Order and Knowledge - HOOK. Vivienne can either escape to Neverland’s Kensington Academy and learn to fly, or risk sticking around to become a human lab rat...but accepting a place among the PAN means Vivienne must abandon her life and foster family to safeguard their secrets and hide in Neverland’s shadows...forever.

Character Inspo
Tanya Chesham-Leigh - Vodka/wine aunt, need I say more? Jake Peralta - chaotic bisexual (I know he’s not canonicaly bi but shh) Morticia Addams - would do anything for those she cares about even if it was unconventional Katherine Jenkins - voice claim, but also Hannah’s voice so a kinda mix. But also she’s just a sweetheart Lou Miller - Loyal, a little cynical but willing to forgive Elsa - Conceal, don’t feel is a motto that could very easily be Grace’s too. Shecan have her quieter moments and feels a strong sense of duty. Jethro Gibbs - Jethro was ‘married 4 times, divorced 3′ and Grace is similar. He also struggles to show affection and she does too. Vivienne Kensington - Boss ass bitch, potentially misunderstood, very ambitious.
