and yes they do ! their ref sheets just come from before the era of when i put the trainer class on the sheet. i'll fix that!

soleil's (first) trainer class is "Wavering Specter"! theirs changes throughout the story to "Stalwart Specter" as they develop and grow a bit-- a lot of their arc comes from acknowledging past mistakes that they've made (i.e- being a part of meteor) but still learning to forgive and love themself even through it, so as they become more confident in themself their class changes as well!

lyra's trainer class is "Starlit"! they're a big sweetheart who really just wants to help others- they work in the grand hall in addition to their job as a reserve to help keep the league running smoothly and help adrienn and victoria and arclight with the mountains of paperwork.

niko's trainer class is Neon Punk! short and sharp and to the point, just like they are.

you lace your fingers with his, squeeze his hand so gently that he almost cannot recognize this kindness you give to him. but he never can, can he? he'll never understand you, never understand why.

he blinks a few times, brow raised before he tilts his head in that certain, dramatic way you've grown to adore. the quiet joys that rest on the subtle curve of your lips grow the slightest bit at his reaction, and in return, he smiles, too.

"oh, how ridiculous. you always have to find excuses just to touch me, don't you?"

you laugh ; it is such a warm thing to hear, he thinks, and though he has only recently come to understand the sun's warmth, he does not think it could compare to yours.

notes: i just wrote this as headcanons because it made the most sense to me :)) i hope you like it!!

he's... got an interesting style of kissing.

he's very spontaneous with them. will probably kiss you in the middle of talking out of nowhere.

he's definitely the type to laugh and tease you between breaths. he wants you to get as needy as possible in the shortest amount of time.

likes to get you riled up and then simply leave. like, will eat your face for 2 minutes and then walk away, with you against the wall and extremely confused.

is the type to let his hands wander. he knows what he wants, and will waste no time trying to obtain it.

another thing he likes to do: he'll get close to you and hint enough that he wants to kiss you, and then you'll lean in and the most you'll get is a kiss on the nose.

like, he'd have one hand on your chin to tilt your face up, with his thumb on your bottom lip, he'd be staring into your eyes so intensely and then just -- stop?? just smiles teasingly and ruffles your hair.

now.. onto the actual kissing!!

he'd probably wrap his hands around your waist. unintentionally grips a little too hard, but you don't mind at all.

you might tell him to ease off a bit, but he hadn't realized that it was happening. of course, he doesn't stop. in fact, he'd probably do it harder!! just to tease you as much as possible.

karma starts off quickly. there might be one simply little kiss, but right after that, he's totally devouring you. will touch you in all the right spots so that you melt into his arms.

lots of heavy breathing from him. slight shakes can be heard from his voice sometimes.

hair grabber.

this man will push you against the nearest wall and run his fingers up to your head, tangling them as much as possible into your strands.

one time he accidentally got his hand stuck in your hair. it was a little awkward, but you mostly laughed it all out while he worked his way around your hair.

he likes to hear you speak. he'll probably speak so much in between kisses just to get you to say something. he loves to hear your voice, he just thinks it's so pretty.

soft whispering in your ear!! will reach one hand to the side of your face and move his lips to the opposite side, and then whisper something.

probably something to fluster you, he likes to see you shocked. he likes knowing he can still surprise you.

he knows exactly how to use his mouth. never uses a huge amount of tongue and doesn't let your teeth clink together (cause that's really awkward.)

he's constantly wanting to kiss you. has no shame at all. will probably kiss you deeply in public and then walk into a disney store.

will do anything possible to catch you off guard

but of course, he still likes the normal stuff. he still will kiss you at home, and sometimes, if he feels like it, he may be gentler with you. and cuddle. while you're kissing. and it's incredibly adorable.

all in all he really likes to kiss you

notes: i'm not gonna lie, the title reminded me of the darling in the franxx intro so that's all i could think ab when i was writing this 😭😭 i haven't watched it in forever

This morning, I unfollowed my third person in as many months for complaining about their ao3 engagement, and I regret nothing.

The moment I allow myself to start thinking about how many people are reading my work over how much joy I bring into a space, the quality of my writing goes down the drain. And seeing this kind of thing from people who I share a fandom with(thereby knowing the degree to which their last fic outpaced the sum total of my last three by hits) makes me a bit crazy. Because I don't want to be the kind of author who obsesses over status! I want to write stories I'm proud of, and that bring me joy. If someone out there likes them, that's great! But it can't be what drives me.(Notice how I'm really driving this point home for myself, because it is HARD not to fall into this trap and I am trying to do better.)

But I see people complain about the hits or the kudos or the comments, ESPECIALLY in relation to other authors(again, a callout for me specifically- I'm trying to do better!) We're not in competition with each other, babes. We're on the same team! We like the same show/movie/ship(s)! Just because you play tight end and I'm a kicker doesn't mean we aren't wearing the same jersey. By using stats as the marker for your success, you are wildly underselling the value of what you made. With nothing but a little inspiration, your imagination and likely a fair bit of caffeine, you created a story that is entirely your own. That is an incredible achievement on its own. Did one person tell you it meant something to them? I'm so glad you found each other. Two? How lucky you are to have been able to touch people's lives. Three feels like the sweet spot- perfect number for a virtual happy hour to scream in the group chat about headcanons.

Point being, I guess- you owe me nothing! If you want to read my fic and leave me a comment, I would love that. Comments and kudos and all of that do bring me joy. Don't want to comment? Totally fine! You owe me nothing. Don't want to read what I write? Also totally okay! You owe me nothing.

Now, here's what I owe to myself- the peace of mind that comes from not playing the comparison game, and protecting myself by not allowing in voices who are at odds with that aim.

(As a final note, if you want to complain about "cool in groups" in fandom I have excellent news: no one is cool! We're all a bunch on mangy nerds. Please say hi! Or don't! You owe me nothing.)
