Keith's desert cabin isn’t all empty. There’s a lot of valid stuff there, besides empty instant ramen packages: papers, books, stuff he most likely stole from the garrison when they weren’t watching; and survival stuff. Night vision goggles, various knives, smaller — for precise cutting, hole punching, and even digging — and bigger, sharper ones, to slash and cut things, including his hair. Screwdrivers, durable ropes, solar panels, he's probably modified his laptop, if he has one, to automatically charge from sun. Old, yet still working, headphones. Old, yet still in good condition, clothes. He’s experienced in survival. He knows how to make things last as long as possible in the hot desert weather. His minimalistic approach isn’t natural, it’s forced at first, and then becomes a habit.
what im saying is: when they discovered Blue, in those pouches of his there most certainly were multitools, flashlights, carabiners, chewing gum, bandaids, some random pills, etc etc
like
a lot of things
he wouldn’t have gone outdoors, accompanying other people, without basic things that he carries with him everywhere anyway
