I love this particular shot of Disney’s Once Upon a Studio (2023). The fact that Disney decided to include Taran, Eilonwy and Hen Wen right next to Snow White when she’s singing a portion of “When You Wish Upon a Star" makes my heart squeak with joy. The Black Cauldron (1985) was a huge part of my childhood. Yes, it had a disastrous production and it severely bombed at the box office, as a result. I understand why Disney would want to forget that movie, but I don’t know, maybe it’s nostalgia, but there’s something so timeless about The Black Cauldron (1985). Disney could’ve perfectly lumped the characters in the back due to their unpopularity, but seeing them make such a presence in the foreground right next to Snow White, Mulan and Baymax — three Disney hits — along with Robin Hood and Maid Marian is so wholesome and it makes me think Disney appreciates TBC somewhat. Once Upon a Studio (2023) is the best thing that Disney released in recent years. I’ll cherish this short forever. It briefly revived the Disney magic.

As someone who Really Love Horses and Disney, my Very Fav Horse has to be Major from Cinderella. I just feel bad for him because he isn't as popular as the other Horses. Major is like me Because he's Unique, Loving and Caring. I hope one day Disney will add him to the Parks.

Remember when I told you Disney wasn't going to "save you" from AI?

Megacorps like Disney have mountains of exclusive data they "own" that they can use to create their own internal, proprietary, AI systems. They have every sketch, development photo, unused concept art piece, cut scene, note, doodle, rotoscope/animation reference footage, every storyboard, merch design document, you name it.

And that's on top of every single frame of every movie and TV show. Every panel of every comic.

That's why Disney supports the efforts to clamp down on AI for copyright reasons, because they own all the copyrights. They want that power in their hands. They do not want you to be able to use a cheap or free utility to compete with them. Along the way, they'll burn the entire concept of fair use to the ground and snatch the right to copyright styles. Adobe has confessed this intention, straight to congress.

When the lawyers come, you won't be accused of stealing from say, artist Stephen Silver. You'll be accused of stealing the style of Disney's Kim Possible(TM).

But don't listen to me. Listen to the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

So, what d’ya think of Once Upon a Studio? Also the moment where Mickey was looking at a picture of Walt Disney what if Oswald was there too, two brothers looking at a picture of the man that not only created them but also founded the company that has been going strongly for 100 years.

That would be nice! Of course that talking about Walt and the company is a whole other thing, but you can't say he wasn't that creative

And about thoughts- I WAS WAY TOO EXCITED WHEN I SAW THE WHOLE GANG THERE AND ANIMATED EVEN LIKE AAAA–

Not only them, many others of my favorite movies, I'll confess it did got me emotional

Disney Television Animation was founded 39 years ago, the studio has one year left for it's 40th anniversary and 100th animated series debut ("STUGO" created by Ryan Gillis")

The studio has 65 creators with currently 25 artist, animators and showrunners developing new shows and films. The studio wil also introduce new interations of it's beloved legacy properties like "Darkwing Duck" & "TaleSpin" in association with Point Grey Pictures (Nickelodeon Movies "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem", Walt Disney Studios "Figment"), additionaly reboots for "Recess", "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and a revival of "Phineas And Ferb" are set for the upcoming years. The studio also has a feature film slate with upcoming films like "Big City Greens: The Movie" (2024), other feature film projects at the studio include the musical animated comedy "The School For Sensitive Souls", an animated adaptation of the "SuperFudge" novel in collaboration with The Russo Brothers production company AGBO, a animated adaptation of the book "Confessions Of An Imaginary Friend" is also being planned.

In 2024, as part of the studio's upcoming 40th anniversary Disney Publishing Worldwide & Disney Editions will launch The Disney Afternoon: The Making of a Television Renaissance, In December 2024, the studio will open it's lastest collaboration with Walt Disney Imagineering "Aqua Mouse: Curse of the Golden Egg" set to open with the upcoming "Disney Treasure" cruise.

José Carioca is a sub-vocalist and dancer of the Three Caballeros, the latin-pop boy band. He is also a Samba pop/jazz singer in Brazil. From same university with his two friends Panchito and Donald, the group was formed sharing same passion and pursuit for music career. In most of their songs, José takes control in dance break to rile up the fans at concert. The most calm and polite individual, he is the peacemaker between his team and other rivaling musicians in a middle of intense rivalry. Among the trio, José is most known for having great counts of scandal (with men, women, non-binary, etc).

Born in Xurupita village since childhood, he usually hang out with his childhood friends Nestor, Afonsinho and Pedrão. It is known he has six cousins who live in separate states within Brazil. While he loved to sing, he began to fear of losing his singing voice as he entered puberty. Believing that changing his male reproductive organ to female's would solve his fear, he used all his part-time job money to pay for the surgery, which miraculously, he was able to retain his androgynous singing voice. With his natural talents in dancing and singing, he decided to move to United States in order to learn performing arts as soon as he graduated high school. At one point, he struggled to carry his musical instruments and was about to fall until Donald caught him and his instruments safely. Impressed, José quickly befriended him. When hearing of forming a band, José offered his idea of having three in a group as both scouted Panchito, the Mexican student. Since then, the three friends wrote songs and performed from USA to other Latin American nations. When he confessed to them of his past of surgery, the two nonetheless accepted José. When they were preparing for Europe Tour, Donald's neck was injured causing him to unable to sing. José was seen tearfully bidding goodbye to Donald who left for his 4 years of service in the Navy. Due to the recording company's high demanding and irresponsible supervisions/control, both José and Panchito left the company. While Panchito became a mariachi and Mexican pop singer in Mexico, José returned to Brazil where he became a Samba pop/jazz singer under the stage name Zé. He reunited with his childhood friends and encountered Rosinha Vaz, beginning his relationship with her.

At some point, he thought of marrying Rosinha but was harshly scorned by her father Rocha Vaz who have already planned to set her up with Galdino “Zé Galo” Chaves, the Top1 wealthiest in Brazil. José was unfairly scorned by Rosinha's father, calling him "Castrato Tranny", mocking Panchito and Donald and insulted his family. In anger for the first time, José warned him to never mock his family, friends and their dream, adding that the old man had jinxed himself and would die someday with all money useless to him. While dated Rosinha, he felt as if she was putting him and Zé Galo on the hook, growing less confident of himself. Yet, he find himself occasionally befriend his love rival. One day, he received a call from Panchito about the plan to restore Donald's singing voice. Understanding Donald's wish to comeback as "Three Caballeros", he put his friend's dream first as he broke up with Rosinha and agreed to perform in the hotel owned by Chaves family. With enough money earned, he left Brazil and moved back to USA. When Donald's voice was finally cured, the three made their comeback in House of Mouse, confirming their return and continuing their careers together.

Because of his experience in raising two nephews before Donald's surgery, José is one of very few who is able to handle Huey, Dewey and Louie's antics. Being a member representing LGBTQ+, majority of his fans are of same community and often perform songs in Pride Parades/Carnivals. He has a somewhat naive side when advised by Donald in writing songs through expressing or telling stories genuinely, José released his single song "Amazonian Cuckhold" based on the legend of Encantado/the Amazonian Pink Dolphin, adding spice with story in a song; in a POV of Encantado who found the lonely girl in a party as her boyfriend stood her up with other girls, so Encantado wooed/seduced the girl while insulting her boyfriend. Despite the censorship, the song has become a cautionary tale to never take the received love for granted or someone better would steal their lover away.

Hey there everyone, and welcome to night four of the ninth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!

Tonight we have the DLR/WDW, Holiday Gifting 2020 Series, Vanellope Von Schweetz, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LR.

This pin was released in Walt Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World for a limited time during the winter holiday season in 2020. As a part of the Holiday Gifting series, it originally came with a unique box and frame like other pins in this series. The box for this pin being a soft pink and teal striped candy shaped box, almost like a tootsie roll or a Christmas cracker. Tied shut on each end with pink ribbon, though thanks to the clear plastic side of the box the pin was perfectly visible. The pin itself features Vanellope marching along side one of the princess quotes used for merchandising the Ralph Breaks the Internet movie released two years prior of this pin. The pin itself is also completely covered in a layer of glazing, offering some added protection to its painted surface.

Confession time! I'm fairly certain that those who are reading this are wondering why I had to describe the box rather then show it. Well I'm embarrassed to admit that while preparing for Pin Post Month last year, my cat confused the box and all its ribbons for a toy. While the damage itself thankfully isn't too severe, it's rather distracting and well embarrassing. My cat has also made it clear that he shows no remorse and would do it again! Moral of this story, don't leave delicate collectables alone with your young pet. That aside, the pin itself does well to capture the spirit of the princess scene in the film. Meanwhile thanks to the added protection applied to this pin, as well as the nature of limited release merchandise. It makes an ideal pin to gift to a younger collector looking to show off their pins proudly on their lanyard. Making this pin something that likely brought many children delight during its time on the shelf.

As I was out for the afternoon yesterday, I went and saw Haunted Mansion in theatres, it's not that scary, not much of a horror film (as this movie was released 3 before Halloween in October) and it's about Gabbie and Travis enlist the aid of a team to help exorcise their mansion and destroy the ghosts around them in the abandoned and haunted mansion in New Orleans, LA. I'm giving this at 9/10. In my confession, I never rode this when I went to Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL in the past. As I'm familiar with the Disney theme park attraction, it's a dark ride and they give you a tour around the mansion filled with ghosts and oil paintings coming alive. Actually, this is the 2nd film based on the Disney theme parks attraction, the first live-action movie was released in 2003 starring Eddie Murphy, as this was released 20 years before this film (titled The Haunted Mansion, however in the non-English versions of this film it is the same name as the 2003 film and the Disney theme parks attraction).

In the '1958 Topps Walt Disney's Zorro' vintage series of postcards there is one, named 'The Capitan's Vow', in which Diego and Monastario stand opposite each other, separated by a mirror and a dressing table, on which there are many bottles of perfumes etc.

And there is a perfume that fits El Zorro perfectly: it's a perfume legend famous for its originality, toughness and beauty, it's no longer produced, and, finally, it's called 'Bandit' 😉

But for some reason this classic leather men's chypre was classified as a women's fragrance in 1944 (I think to increase sales or the perfume was a manifestation of female emancipation). However, it became famous thanks to Marlene Dietrich, and so far in articles devoted to 'Bandit' men don't hesitate to confess their love for it, and women love it the way they love Zorro, that is, whatever one may say, but this is not a perfume for women, it's like a tuxedo in a lady's wardrobe. (Why it wasn't classified as a unisex perfume after 1st and 2nd attempts to keep it producing, I really don't know. By the way, perfumery in the 19th century was unisex.)

I own both versions of 'Bandit', a vintage version and a 2000/10s one, and I've never smelled anything more masculine, although I'm familiar with Napoleon's and Churchill's favorite fragrances, tobacco Cuban men's perfumes, as well as Arabic traditional ones.

I was embarrassed to talk about my associations for many months, but 'Bandit' was created in 1944, that is, this is the time of the popularity of Power's Zorro, and then—Williams' Fox, the perfume is an eternal classic and is something unique, something beyond the usual frames and roles, so why not?

'Bandit' is exactly the bad boy you've been waiting for, señorita 😏

P. S. But, ahem, those '1958 Topps Walt Disney's Zorro' not about señoritas, since we started with them xD

This morning, a friend of mine who has been working as an English teacher sent me a message on LINE. She taught me how the job as English teacher can be. As you can see easily, to work as an English teacher is to think about how to communicate by using English to others. Therefore, you need to think about the OTHERS. How do they have their interests in learning? What kind of methods are good for them? You need to think about these things to teach it to them.

I have to think about becoming an English teacher really carefully. How can I measure my English level properly? This morning, I also asked for my friends on Discord to read my articles/journals. They actually read for me and taught their honest opinions, which said to me that there are some odd expressions but my efforts are great. I'm really glad to hear that.

And - I remember this. When I was young, I had already given up everything and lived as a really terrible, lonesome heavy drinker. Yes, I had gotten lost any way to go on in my life - Especially, I had lost any hope/dream toward the future. In this world, you can find various, numerous success stories at almost everywhere. As Walt Disney's quote says, successful ones can say that our dreams can come true (or everything is simply possible.) Indeed, it is really embracing. But, can I still believe that kind of BEAUTIFUL words?

I can't see… but, though it might be so embarrassing to confess, once I had to tried to ERASE any ideas of having dreams from my thoughts. In other words, I tried to think as a realist (maybe even as a cynic.) Forget any dream, and live for today! But, now I can feel that I am starting having the new dream… or just a silly daydream?

This afternoon, I sent a message on WeChat to have a conversation tomorrow afternoon. This evening, I enjoyed a zoom meeting my Russian friend Victoria had done (OMG! I don't have enough space to write/describe about them.) At least, one thing is possible to say - I am never alone. Once, I had been a heavy drinker, I had thought there must have never been any hopes. I had to feel I was abandoned… But, everything can be possible, actually.

Intertextuality in Kingdom Hearts

In This blog post, I’ll be talking analyzing the game Kingdom hearts through the lens of intertextuality and Transmedia (2002 – 2020).

Plot:

The game starts off with a kid named sora. He is a Keyblade wielder. A keyblade is a special weapon that has the ability to turn darkness and dark powers into light. He travels different worlds and castles and fights many different enemies to save his friends and fix the world. He also fights people who wield a keyblade but have been turned evil because of the darkness.

He also meets a lot of new people who help him in his journey like the previous keyblade wielder who guide and train Sora.

Analysis:

Intertextuality is defined as “The term intertextuality denotes [the] transposition of one (or several) sign system(s) into another…” (Julia Kristeva, 1989). In the game, while travelling through different worlds, Sora meets up with Disney casts. Mikey Mouse is the king and sora also becomes friends with Goofy and Donald Duck. There are a number of games in the Kingdom heart series and Sora meets many Disney characters, like Ariel (the little mermaid), Maleficent from the sleeping beauty and Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean.

Since there are many games in the kingdom hearts series, we see different characters reoccurring in the other series as well. This type of movement of characters is also known as radical intertextuality or as Jenkins describes it “Movement across texts or across textual structures within the same medium” (Jenkins, 2011).

For example, the re-appearances of Disney characters in the Kingdom hearts game are the best example. Not only do they appear in one game but each series of the kingdom heart series reveal new Disney characters and a unique way to interact with them.

The popularity of the game is largely due to this form of presentation because apart from the enjoyable gameplay, the radical intertextuality of Disney characters creates a form of nostalgia to the players and it is very exciting to interact with them.
