Bonefall's Forgotten Warriors

If you've ever set out to make a WC fan project, you've surely heard of Su Susann's Missing Kits. It was a series of authorial statements giving names to previously unnamed cats, and adding interesting little stories to many of them.

But there's also a TON of "Forgotten Warriors" that were created through timeline inconsistencies, offhanded authorial statements, or single throwaway lines in super editions. By their nature, finding these cats on the wiki is a pain in the butt. In this post I hope to compile these cats as a resource for the fandom.

So first, let's define a Forgotten Warrior.

A Forgotten Warrior does not have a big presence. Primrosepaw was first named as a Missing Kit with no mention of her name on the page or in the allegiances. Over time, she has appeared in several books and is now a widely known name in the fandom. But Blossomkit, whose only appearance is in Su Susann's Missing Kits and the worst field guide, will count as a Forgotten Warrior.

A Forgotten Warrior is not just a nondescript Clan cat. For example, if a "ThunderClan warrior" speaks up at a gathering and their name and description is not mentioned, that could be anyone. Same applies to a description that could easily describe an existing character in a Clan-- if a "White ShadowClan Warrior" appears in a modern arc, that may just be Stonewing, BUT, the "Tabby Queen with Distinct Black Markings" of TPB doesn't match any other, so she is a Forgotten Warrior.

A minor appearance inconsistency is not a Forgotten Warrior. Just to pre-empt wiseassery. Blue-eyed Dovewing and Green-eyed Dovewing are not two separate cats-- but I will note down MASSIVE appearance changes in background characters, like the magic color AND gender-changing Stoatfur (just add water!)

(also, I will not be compiling all of the random kittypets, rogues, and loners because there is too many of them. I could, however, be persuaded to compile all cats of a specific group, like The Kin, Sisters, BloodClan, etc.)

Smokepaw X From Secrets of the Clans. May be a consistency error, given that the authors forgot that Smokepaw TNP fell off a cliff and they could be Smokefoot. Close with Tawnypelt, likes to climb trees and watch boats.

Pikepaw M Large, dark gray. The only serious apprentice in his training session of BOTC while the siblings squabble. RiverClan.

uu don't have to use these, i made these fur fun and to show my appreciation fur uu !! i also treated this as practice, it was quite an interesting process to make graphics of characters with like only 1-2 good editable images of them readily accessible online , especially characters i knew NOTHING about

sometimes, when one is editing a character they're not familiar with, and one is too lazy to learn more about them, they might jump to the wrong conclusions about the character . that was me editing ravenpaw i thought he was edgy bcz he's a black cat with raven in his name but i read about him and he seemed quite peaceful so i made 2 edits of him (the "KARMA!" one was when i thought he was edgy and the other one is when i learned who he actually was) so yeah. it was kinda a fun learning experience yk

About Me:

I am Lily/Mae, an adult (21+) fan of warriors and avid D&D player! I have been playing D&D 5e since 2017 and have been a DM since 2018. I am a disabled genderfae and spend my time (when I'm not doing college stuff) to work on D&D homebrew. I used to do a lot of stuff with 5e, but have recently made a switch to 3.5e.

I decided to make a warriors D&D supplement for years and have made attempts, but none of them were what I wanted or could work with. So, I have made a choice to work on this! As for why 3.5e and not 5e (which is much more popular), I decided the older system in favor of certain rules like prestige classes and templates as well as a general dislike for the way WOTC is treating 5e.

the recent copyright stuff has made me again think abt how much i should distance the cattle of red valley from warrior cats. like ive already been sorta doing that, bc i the direction i wanna take for the cattle of red valley is a lot darker n more mature than what i imagine most ppl expect from warriors oc stuff n i think its the responsible thing for me to do, but i just wonder if theres more i should do without completely erasing those roots u know.

i made full “canon” allegiances for the start of into the wild/tpb: link to google doc

this is for fanfic/writing purposes, in case anyone needs a resource like this. hopefully someone does or else i just wasted a lot of time.

explanations of stuff under the cut

obviously, thunderclan was easy. shadowclan, riverclan, and windclan were harder. i compiled allegiances of cats who were probably alive around that time, and then i narrowed it down from there. lots of wiki searching. lots of digging through the books. 

i also have allegiances of cats who were alive before itw but not mentioned recently in the timeline for me to deem them “alive” recently enough to be on here. (so many cats just like. stop showing up halfway through super editions with no mention of where they went) i might post that one too?

cats are generally listed from oldest to youngest within their rank. most ages are based simply on vibe and surrounding information, ie finchflight is probably at least 8 years old because he mentored rowanberry, who is 7 years old. i may add specific ages later

sc, rc, and wc all have “kit” ranks while tc does not. this is because there are characters that would probably be kit-aged at this time, but have no confirmed parents

Bonefall Rewrite Allegiance Planning

So I am FINALLY about to start making allegiances. Since my rewrite covers ALL of Clan history, I think it would be a much better idea to divide these lists by GENERATION instead of period, era, or most relevant book.

A generation will be a period of about 4 - 6 years. As I laid out in my family tree rework rules, I have a cutoff for age gaps at 4-ish years exactly because of the fact that a senior warrior is hard defined as being at least 5. This is when a power imbalance would enter the dynamic.

So with all that said and explained... Feel free to pitch your suggestions for the following generations;

Yellowfang, Tallstar, One-eye, and the 'elder-age' cast of TPB. These cats are significantly older and born before the start of the "Campaign Era." Pinestar is one of the oldest cats of this generation.

Bluestar, Thistleclaw, Crookedjaw, Lizardstripe, Deadfoot, the "middle-aged" characters of TPB The ones who are already established, may have had apprentices and grandchildren, are generally no longer climbing the ranks. These cats are around 8 - 12 years old, considering retirement if they haven't already done so. They were born after the Campaign Era had already started but remember (and were shaped by) the escalation of force between Clans.

Brokenstar, Tigerclaw, Mistyfoot, Leopardfur. The distinguished warriors of TPB. The ones seeking positions of power and generally established to some degree, between 3 - 7 by TPB. Having never known a time before Clans were lethally violent towards each other, these cats are ready to kill and die.

Thinking about the time I went on a spree of making miniature warrior cats out of polymer clay, simple, identical in shape and without differentiating features. Some slumped over in the oven, some fell over, I put them all in a shoe box and ran over to my friend's house to play with them. They broke on the way there. So instead of playing warrior cats we played "Five Nights at Cory's" with the figures and a small doll house. (Cory was the name of my pet black cat at the time)

I remade those figures later on. Of course, they looked like warrior cats, but with little fake metal bits sticking out of them. Still Five Nights at Cory's.
