#why. of the entire bsd cast. do these three always show up?

Note
hella should I watch bsd and why?
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES E OMG YES okay okay here's why you should watch bsd right now this moment and tell me all about it:
chuuya nakahara is a man that exists. he is everything to me
the characters are all based on famous authors and they all dress like they're fucking victorian or some shit and they all fight each other and have homoerotic partnerships. the aesthetic of bsd is just unmatchable truly
genuinely the most homoerotic anime ive ever watched and ive watched haikyuu
chuuya is there!
on a serious note the plot absolutely WOWS it's soooo clever it's about detectives and mafia and external threats etc etc but there's twists and the characters are sooooo smart and especially with recent manga events you NEVER know what's going to happen im always on the edge of my seat
it has powers!!!!!!!!! they're called 'abilities' and our main cast all have one and they're so so interesting bc they're inspired by the writer that the character is named after (aka fyodor's ability is 'crime and punishment')
there's a guy with a literal GOD inside of him and he can control gravity and he wears funny hats and has the most gorgeous hair of all time also his name is chuuya
dazai osamu (yes like THEE dazai osamu) is there and he's a BITCH while also being one of the most insanely intelligent characters of any media ever. he makes me want to die (affectionate)
found family!!!!! particularly from our protag atsushi bc he's an orphan that effectively gets adopted by our main cast and he has a real thing about Belonging and Family and Healing From Abuse so watching that all unfold is just <33333
the generational trauma omg i know for a FACT you of all people will like this. we have a cycle of abuse that is just so so fascinating bc you sympathise with ALL OF THEM (aside mori. he can rot) even when they themselves become the next generation of abuser and it's so complicated and ive never actually seen it illustrated so explicitely before
also speaking of generational things we also have each new generation of double black from zenki soukoku to soukoku to shin soukoku i think it's soooo compelling (basically the most powerful duo of each generation but every single time they absolutely HATE each other and are forced to figure it out and wind up knowing each other better than anyone while still sustaining a farce of mutual dislike aka everyone knows they're fucking)
this one guy throws a building at a dragon. i cant remember his name right now but it's definitely nothing that rhymes with mooya makahara
YOSANO!!!!!!!! HOT ANGRY MURDER LESBIAN!!!!!!!!!!
murder siblings via the akutagawas!!!! they are everything to me!!!! we also have the tanizaki siblings but i need you to ignore every second they're on screen together and id like to apologise in advance
bsd set the standard for enemies to lovers. full stop argue with the wall
constant literary references throughout that make my heart happy
it's easily accessible! the entire show is free on crunchyroll in multiple languages including an english dub!
A5158
we have angst! we have humour! we have plot! we have bsd wan for when bsd gets too much! we have a movie! we have an updating manga that's still got plenty of steam! we have three seasons as is! we have a stage play! we have found family! we have corrupt organisations! we have healing! we have morally grey characters actively choosing good even though they have nothing inside them that is compelled to do so! we have gay people! no seriously soukoku is basically canon! they're so fucked!
im in really really really really really normal amounts of love with chuuya

Hi....If you don't mind, can I ask, what are your top 10 (or top 7) favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......Thanks....
In no particular order
Blue Lock (Manga), it’s so silly and unserious with how over the top and occasionally edgy it is but it also unironically has some really good character writing and some amazing character development. Isagi’s easily my favorite protagonist in Shounen, in any other shounen he’d be a villain. A huge shoutout to the Isagi and Kaiser rivalry for being so well written, easily one of the most entertaining rivalries there is. But I also like how the manga does a good job at showing different types of rivalries with the four main rivals, you have the friendly rival (Nagi), classic rival (Barou), out of reach rival (Rin) and mutual obsession rival (Kaiser). It’s also just such a hype manga, I’ve reread it multiple times and I always feel the hype on every reread. The art is also easily the best art in a weekly shounen currently coming out. The anime is good if you don’t care much about the animation quality dropping, I’d say at least the first three episodes are worth checking out before switching to the manga because of how well they set the tone and get you into the series.
Bungou Stray Dogs (Manga), there’s so much to analyze in BSD, when you get deep into BSD, you’re not just getting into BSD, you also end up getting into the light novels, you’re also getting into the authors the characters are based on. The characters have a lot of depth and are very interesting. It also has Fyodor, the most babygirl of babygirls. Not a fan of the anime after having read the manga tho, it has many pacing issues and outright dumbs down and ruins characterizations (Fyodor being the biggest victim of this).
Oshi no Ko (Manga and anime), I already loved the manga and holy shit the anime blew it out of the water. The animation, music and voice acting really liven up the entire experience. I absolutely love the themes explored and seeing the life of idols and actors. Since Oshi no Ko is best experienced completely blind, I’m not gonna say much more. Just know that it easily has the best premiere episode I’ve ever seen in an anime. I’ve also listened to Idol way too many times, I outright know the lyrics of the opening because of how much it played in karaoke. I also really love Ai Hoshino, I’ve ordered so much merch of her and even cosplayed her last week at a con.
Vinland Saga (Anime), character development at its peak. The writing is absolutely top notch. Shout out to Askeladd for being such an amazingly well written character. There’s so much depth to the characters and the fans weren’t lying when they were praising the writing in farmland because Thorfinn’s character development in that arc is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. I’m also a huge fan of the openings, I’ve been listening to them every day. I’ve started buying the manga but I haven’t started reading yet, so I don’t want to include the manga yet.
Kuroko no Basket (Anime), it is so hype, it is so over the top, it’s so stupid, it’s so unrealistic and I absolutely love it. It also has the best female cast in any sports anime I’ve watched, they’re not stuck as just moral support and fanservice, they actually play an active and important role in helping the boys improve. I love the philosophy of the characters and getting to see the point of view of geniuses at the top who all have different perspectives of what it’s like being among the best. Kuroko and Kagami are also one of my fav friendships in anime, they have amazing chemistry and work so well as the main duo. I also love that Kuroko is the protagonist, because from his point of view, it’s not just about winning the tournaments, it’s also being able to save his former teammates from themselves.
House MD (TV series), it’s just so damn entertaining, I usually love doctor shows to have in the bg but House MD is unironically really good. It has genuinely good character writing and characters with a lot of depth. I’m a huge fan of asshole main characters. Hugh Laurie’s performance as House is also amazing, no other actor could pull off the charisma required to make such an asshole so likable. He has amazing chemistry with the other actors which really makes it feel more real despite all the absurdity happening all the time (like how House didn’t get fired on episode 1 is a mystery science can’t answer).
Durarara (Anime), easily has my favorite introduction arc out of any anime, it’s a bit confusing at the start but once you get used to it, it’s amazing. Every character in Durarara is badass and I love their interactions and how they work as an ensemble cast instead of having one main character. The city of Ikebukuro feels so alive thanks to all the personalities living there. Izaya Orihara also absolutely steals every scene he’s in, he is such a little shit and I love him, especially when he interacts with Shizuo. I’ll never forgive Shizaya for permanently damaging my brain into thinking that two guys wanting each other dead is peak romance.
Love Live (Anime), I’m including all the series. Love Live is the only anime to make me feel strong emotions every single episode. It’s just such a feel good show, it makes me so happy. I love all the girls, I wish they were real so they could be my friends. It’s not the most well written franchise but it more than makeups for it with how enjoyable it is. The VAs also do an amazing job bringing the characters to life and are so talented. The music is also really good and there’s such a huge discography that you’re guaranteed to find a few songs you’ll like. My favorite series has to be Sunshine tho, it just holds such a special place in my heart since it was what was coming out when I first got into the franchise and I can’t listen to the first opening or ending without being moved.
Bocchi the rock (Anime), Bocchi is just like me fr. I can relate to her struggles with social anxiety so much, I deadass almost cried in the first episode when I realized I found a character who I could relate to when it came to social anxiety, usually there’s just shy characters in anime which I hate because of how unrelatable they are and just make shyness seem like a cute trait. Like nah man, the interacting with people makes me an awkward mess. BTR uses such creative animation to show what’s going on in Bocchi’s head and while it’s obviously exaggerated, it does genuinely sometimes feel like the world’s about to end when I interact with someone I don’t know. The rest of the cast is also very likable and have great chemistry together. BTR is easily my favorite slice-of-life anime and one of my favorite anime, I highly recommend it even if you’re not a sol fan (I’m not too keen on them personally).
Supernatural (TV series), not gonna explain this one. This is tumblr, you know damn well why this is here.

Last thing before I clock out for the night is another 10-pull in BSD, because (a) BSD is where I spend my gems ability stones recklessly to make up for all the saving going on in A3!, and because (b) the more I pull, the funnier the running gag gets. To wit:
Tumblr media
Yep. Running gag's still going strong, I see. Chuuya's finally decided to meet me with his hat on (previously I spent 17 levels without a single Chuuya card, not even an R, before suddenly getting his Fables SSR, which while awesome also had him hatless), so, nice.
Junichiro isn't here, which is unusual, but Lovecraft is, so I guess it evens out. Why do my ten-pulls almost always have one or the other of 'em? In my early days playing, I got Gide all the time, but now he's been pushed back as these two monopolise my pulls. Although, speaking of monopolising pulls…
Another Kajii card! Another new Kajii card, in fact. I have more kinds of Kajii cards than anyone else in the game, and most of 'em arrived within the past week or so. Ah, well, it can't be helped. When life gives you lemon (bomber)s…

Crime and Punishment - Soukoku oneshot
Tumblr media
Summary:
A demon once whispered to him of crime and punishment. He hadn’t paid it much mind – how trusted can a demon be?
His crime, among others, was betrayal.
The only aspect of the crime he left overlooked turned out to be the most crucial one – the punishment.
And the demon stays amused by the most pathetic Raskolnikov in existence – Dazai Osamu.
or
The author being an absolute nerd for Dostoyevsky and overanalyzing Soukoku’s relationship. Enjoy Dazai’s late-night thoughts!
TW: death, implied suicide
Author’s note:
I’m taking a break from my usual writing (which I’m super insecure about), so I’m writing this little fic because I hope you will be kind to me. Also, I just needed some comfort and BSD is my go-to place for that.
There’s a couple of references scattered across the fic: the obvious one about Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment, as well as The Brother Karamazov and The House of the Dead. Yes, I’m aware I’m a huge nerd.
I actually got really carried away and I wrote 2 more chapters which I’ll post on AO3. Of course, this chapter will be up there too, I’ll put a link down below, so please give feedback. :D

Enjoy!!
Tumblr media
A demon once whispered to him of crime and punishment. He hadn’t paid it much mind – how trusted can a demon be?
Dazai Osamu’s crime, among others, was betrayal. He betrayed the miserable life he had led in Port Mafia, the life that had devastated him on the days he remembered he had heart under that cold, colorless ribcage of his. This life, if one may even call it that, deprived Dazai of a childhood, of innocence, of cleanliness: his hands stained crimson red and his thoughts painted pitch black. Would letting go wash away those dark colors, reveal the truth underneath, which was unknown to him? He did not know, but something had to change.
And so he escaped, with the night cradling him and the smoke of a burning car covering his treacherous silhouette. He had fled the winter of his life, days of bloodshed and sin out of sight and out of mind, looking forward to a promisingly bright spring. Betrayal is an ugly thing, but he had never cared much for looks.
The only aspect of his crime he left overlooked turned out to be the most crucial one – the punishment. Never had he dreamed he would feel guilty.
What am I really even guilty of? Wanting to see the light? Wanting to do good for once in this wretched life I lead? The days I spent swimming in the dark waters of despair deserved to see the end. Am I a monster for wanting happiness?
Hard as he tried to reason with his guilty consciousness, it never left him. It just kept gnawing at his thoughts, making him remember what, nay, whom he tried to forget.
The red-haired calamity.
The manipulator of gravity.
To Dazai, the giver of life.
Nakahara Chuuya.
At the time, Dazai could’ve never fathomed the concept of missing the redhead. Sure, Chuuya was important to him – as much as a person who knew everything about you could be. The two knew each other from the tip of the head to the end of the toes.
He could never not be important. Such noise is rarely ignored, Dazai mused jokingly.
Chuuya was what brought him life. The constant cheating, stealing and killing tramples the soul until you cannot make anything of what’s left. It’s what makes Dazai long for death – he’s seen the depths of this cursed city that squeezed his heart to the point he wanted to throw it away. However, Chuuya – just saying his name made Dazai feel warm – he saw it too. He felt it the same way Dazai did. He might act harsh with all his stomping, yelling, and destroying, but underneath all that is a gentle, nurturing nature that he hides. It’s a detriment in his line of work. Having someone understand meant a lot to Dazai. Maybe their partnership was even built on this silent understanding, among other things.
However, Chuuya was not nice. Don’t ever mistake Chuuya’s sensitivity with kindness. Sugar and spice was not to be in the same sentence as his name. He has always been… rough. Sometimes it served as a wake-up call to Dazai. It helped put things into perspective, but it also helped put things into bad perspective. Not a single morning did these two share without a fight – verbal or physical. Dazai didn’t mind it much at first. After all, teasing Chuuya did work like a drug for him. With time, however, the blade of their words never became dull. It only sharpened. Words like poison flung around the apartment, sentences like spider-webs sitting in hidden corners of the bedroom. Love – they never dared call it that, but, oh, what a burning love it was – love, the most sacred of all emotions, was a chore until it became a war. Eventually, Dazai couldn’t find his peace even in the arms of a lover.
So, his craftiness started turning wheels again and – he escaped. Not a word in the evening, not a trace in the morning, only confusion and hurt spelled over Chuuya’s heart.
Dazai knew it was cruel. He never felt right about it. He loved Chuuya, after all, so the best thing to do, he concluded, was to forget.
The demon laughs. Punishment has been passed.
Presently, Dazai Osamu spends his night awake, staring at the dirty ceiling of his room, as the most pitiful of the world’s Raskolnikovs.
Why can’t he seem to forget a man he once loved, a man he soon grew to hate, a man he betrayed in order to find happiness? What twisted force of nature is dragging his thoughts back to the time he was at his lowest? Why is it that now, when all hope of reunion between the lovers is lost, he finds himself longing for the infamous Port Mafia executive Nakahara Chuuya? Why did the ashes find their way back into a flame after he committed the worst of all sins – betrayal of trust and love?
The demon chuckles once again and in a sing-songy voice he says, I told you, Dazai-kun. To love thy neighbor is impossible. The man himself is the ugliest of all God’s creations – how could anyone love such a creature up close? Even the Father won’t cast a glance at him. It takes distance, Dazai-kun, and you’re not exempt from this rule of human nature.
It is irksome, yes, how right the demon seems to be. It is certainly irksome, Dazai feels, as the demon’s words carve into the left chamber of his stone cold heart. What even was it that made Dazai hate Chuuya? Hate Chuuya… it used to seem so impossible and yet, along with Odasaku’s death, it drove him to plan and execute a high-scale betrayal of the entire Port Mafia.
It would take years before Dazai could understand the intricacies of his past with Chuuya at Port Mafia. What mattered now – truly, the only real thing in this world – was the fact that he actually loved Nakahara Chuuya.
Oh. There. He thought of it. For some reason, he didn’t want to think of anything else but that. It wasn’t scary, as he thought it’d be, all those years ago. He finally broke the lock in his lungs and there it was: all that air he never let himself breathe. What was it about that mere word that made two Port Mafia executives shy around it, avoid it like the authorities, dance around it as if it was bonfire in the festival night? Why had they never let the simple four-letter word into their little sanctuary when it so obviously belonged with them? The fear he once felt seemed foolish to him now.
I guess we do learn as long as we live, he whispers in the dark room to no one in particular.
He felt a rush trying to sweep him up, make him stand. However, where would he go? To Chuuya? As if. He hurt Chuuya in unspeakable ways even during the time they spent together. He has no right to show up at his doorstep or in his life. Ever again.
Even if he did, how would that end? They squeezed each other’s hearts dry and called it love. Every day felt like torture, but they swore it was sweet. Why, why, why did they cause so much pain? Was it truly the only method to make them feel alive in the house of the dead? Did the right answer slip between their fingers at some point?
The question Dazai had been stuck on was, Is there any way he could forgive me? If, once in the future, I looked him in the eye and told him the truth – would there be salvation pouring from his lips? Or would he rightfully convict me for my crime?
Thus, Dazai fell into slumber, like every other evening for the past four years. The bed will never feel comfortable to him because it always seems to be missing something, but Dazai will keep denying it. His little room doesn’t even look like a home, but Dazai will tell you that he just can’t be bothered to unpack and decorate. His heart, cold like a Russian blizzard, has not known warmth in a while, but he will tell you it’s incapable to do so.
Those are the only three lies Dazai Osamu tells people and himself – until the night comes again and unlocks a little door in his brain.

For the Fandom Ask: BSD!
Hello! Thank you for the ask! 😊😊
Favorite character: Nakajima Atsushi, Izumi Kyouka, Lucy Maud Montgomery (sorry I can’t pick between them at all)
Atsushi: His determination is the one thing I really love about him. His trust in his friends and co-workers. Him being timid and a cry-baby are also really lovable aspects of him
Tumblr media
Kyouka: Super sweet and cute! When it comes down to business, she’s rational and can pull her own weight.  (gif edit sums up everything I love about her actually)
Tumblr media
Lucy: Her proud personality. She being bashful is also something I die over, because it’s so cute
Tumblr media
I’ll round it up with this: all three of them are not unique (clearly) and they have similar backgrounds but I love the way they’re changing for the better because of someone’s influence. (yes it’s probably why I can’t decide between them) Clearly, I have a type when it comes to liking characters LOLOL
Most relatable character: Miyazawa Kenji
Naivety level is close to his actually and I always think the best of people. Easily amazed by new stuff LOL
Most underrated character: Louisa May Alcott
Her ability is one of the best in the entire series, and her loyalty to Fitz. Considering how her plans almost destroyed Yokohama, and how she helped Fitz up onto his feet again, I’m surprised at how little development she has been given.
Most overrated character: Nakahara Chuuya
Yes, short hot boy with a temper is very cool and all, but I don’t really get the hype over him. (tbh I heard of Chuuya even before I know of the series)
Least favorite character: Jouno, but Mori is a close runner up
Jouno is interesting and all but I dislike the way he treats his squadmates. The way he treated Tecchou honestly … In short, I just don’t like his attitude when it comes to people and relationships. Mori, when he starts being a pedo trumps this though.
Favorite pairing: Atsushi x Kyouka (when Kyouka becomes of age)
Tumblr media
The immense support they have for each other and how they look out for each other. Needless to say, they care for each other alot ^^
Least favorite pairing: Mori x Elise (dk whether this exists but Mori x Yosano is my major NOTP)
Because Mori and young girls are a pedophilic ship. Period.
Favorite part/moment: Quite a few actually and they will only be in S3!
Won’t go into too much details to avoid spoilers, but the upcoming sskk matchup and the meeting between kyouka and akutagawa.
My favourite part from what’s been aired is a close runner up, but yes essentially this fight between them, because of how Atsushi sticks so strongly to his beliefs and Akutagawa’s annoyance at it, pretty much highlights the animosity between them.
Tumblr media
Least favorite part/moment: Err… well Dead Apple, the cursed scene with Dazai and Chuuya.
Because it reeks super badly of fanservice and imho, it is not something Chuuya and Dazai would do in manga canon.
What about it got my attention: Literary figures
It was quite a few years back already, but I think it was the plot and the fact that the story was referencing literary figures. I wanted to read it and see how the mangakas would use the literary figures in the plot. Also because I heard Akutagawa’s Rashomon resembled kagunes (from tokyo ghoul)
What about it kept my attention: Characterization
I absolutely love the way Asagiri-sensei has been developing the characters. Imo, with the relatively big cast in the story, I think Asagiri-sensei has been showing us how the characters have grown since they’ve been first introduced through the introdution of their backstories.
Overall opinion: Absolute love!
Plot and characterization are all really solid! It’s easily one of the best series I’ve picked up and it has a really special place in my heart. Studio Bones has done a pretty decent job in its animation as well.

Fire Force is back and until I watched the first episode, I didn’t hadn’t realized that it was just what I needed right now. Let’s get a few announcements out of the way first though.
This first review is going on up Saturday because I didn’t have anything else for today but starting next week I will most likely be moving it to either Sunday or Monday. If I have another season of not being able to do anything on Friday night cause I got a review to pump out, I’m gonna end up single again!
Second, a reader pointed out that my best episode reviews were my gallery reviews as they were at least a bit more unusual and sounded more personal. And I have to agree. My gallery posts were not always easy to write but they were often se of my favourites. Not that I didn’t have a great tim discussing my litterature tastes trough BSD or Woodpecker or going deeply introspective with Steins;Gate 0, mind you. So I’m going to attempt a hybrid. I’m assuming my readers have seen the episode and do not need me to recap the plot so I will stick to my views on the visuals and production as well as any big elements that stood out for me. It’s probably going t take me a couple f weeks to find my footing so I hope you’ll bear with me!
Season 1 of Fire Force was somewhat of a mixed bag. There were a t of elements I absolutely loved. The religious and political background plot, the quick paced action, the doofy characters (if there’s one thing I love more than a troll, it’s a dork!) and the occasionally earnestly emotional episodes that somehow managed to avoid melodrama all together. I think it’s fair to say that for me, when Fire Force was good, t was great! But then there was the outdated humor, the occasional uncomfortable fanservice an the complete objectification on certain characters that made it not only less enjoyable for me, but at times even bring.
As far as I was concerned, the good outweighed the bad and there was no doubt in my mind that I would be watching this second season. I was a bit anxious to see what episode 1 would bring.
I shouldn’t have been.
First let me say, Fire Force is a show that I have always found beautiful and it still is. those vibrant colors filling my screen was a shot of endorphins for me. Second… did the producers tweek something in response to viewer comments or is it a coincidence?
Th episode opens with Shinra and the three girls, Tamaki, Sister and Maki all shopping together. This is a prime set up for fanservice. Trying clothes on, laughing, tripping… In the firs episodes last season, no ladies could be on screen without a cleavage or derriere sho. And amaki was never allowed to stay clothed at all. Ys all hr girls were absolutely adorable and just lovely together without a hint of that type of fanservice. It was almost a little weird. But great.
The scene was fun and joyful. It was coloured in ultra saturated pastels to keep those happy grooves ging and it had me smiling from ear to ear. I like seeing Shinra get all flustered around sister.
And the the action picked up. An infernal appearance quickly reminded us what this show was all about and the episode used the opportunity to reestablish the cast and their relationships. And it did great.
My girl Maki got to be a big boss quickly taking hold of the emergency and dispatching everyone as needed. Each member of the 8th got a chance to be reintroduced and a chance to show their own skills. For once no one needed to be saved r ended up purely decorative. The episode was careful t make every single character useful an feel like the were an important part of the team. And YAY, Arthur!
It’s just the first episode so I don’t know if this is going t be true all season, but let me try to explain why I loved the shift in fanservice in this first half. Here is Tamaki’s reintroduction to the audience:
Tamaki was a pretty divisive character last season and I would say the mos common source of fanservice although all ladies were fair game. Sure, her uniform is still a bikini top under an open jacket but the framing and context is completely different. The Plot didn’t rip off her clothes for no reason, it’s her own choice to wear this and it could easily be argued that her ignition ability make cosing the jacket uncomfortable. I’l buy that. Heck I don’t even need to buy that. Girl can wear whatever she wants to, it’s just a convenient excuse for why her uniform is different. But for me, even better is how the camera frames her. Wait, here’s another shot:
The emphasis is mostly on hr face and eyes. Her expressions are set and determined. She’s in full action. She looks great and personally I really like this way more than this
I was happy to see that they kept the trend of making the sky a darker royal blue whenever the action kicks up, and clearing the clouds out. Fire Force has some of the most beautiful skies!
Another screencap I want to bring attention to is this one:
I have always loved the shot composition in Fire Force. It was one of its greatest strength in my opinion. And Look how wonderful the image is. The rough crescent shape with Victor as a lone central anchor. Those fantastic reflective strips on the uniforms creating a continuous line. Arthur’s golden hair tying together with the golden accents on the hats and sleeves, while Vulcan’s red hair and Sister’s white collar and sitting positon crae visual stops on either end. This is a great shot that highlights the spiritual undertones of the series! Am I getting carried away?
The fight with the inferno was really fun to watch and showed off some new tricks. The ation was more frantic than we we are use and the character models were prone to some deformation à la Trigger. This happens to be a technique I tend to appreciate so I was psyched. In general the designs and models seem pretty much unchanged from season 1 but the animation has had an upgrade. Very cool!
And as soon as the inferno is defeated, the white fluffy clouds come back to break up that sky and we get a beautiful baby blue horizon.
It’s really great that out of the entire hopping trip, th most inappropriate outfit ended up being worn by Hinawa. Is it a sign that I’ve been watching too much anime when I immediately assumed that his hat “Nudist B*tch” was a reference to Kill la Kill instead of cheeky wordplay? Doesn’t matter, I’m sticking with my head canon.
Although it might be a definite sign that I’m watching too much anime when I think that outfit sort of suits him. Maybe not for the office, although…
Ok…so maybe they didn’t so much tone down the fanservice, as move it to the guys. Still, in the context of a Firemen calendar it still leaves the control with the characters which makes me enjoy it more. Still, I wouldn’t have minded a mixed gender calendar.
Aside for the brief inferno interruption, which was really just an excuse to assure the audience that this is still the action shonen they all love and remember, the episode was mostly fluffy filler stuff. And you know what, I suddenly think that fluffy filler was really missing from season 1. I’m n saying it should have been a slice of life,  but one or two episodes just like this one would have improved the pacing in my opinion.
When all is said and done, I had a great time with this first episode. I think it really highlighted the potential of the series and showed it in a great light. Did y watch the first episode? And did you enjoy it? Are you sticking with season 2?
Fire Force 2 Episode 1 – A Great Start Fire Force is back and until I watched the first episode, I didn't hadn't realized that it was just what I needed right now.
